Musc X

I can’t even explain with words how in love I am with this perfume. I’m not much of a skin scent person, really, but this did something different to me brain. I go to bed almost every night with this and I make sure to spray it on my pillows as well. It feels salty but sweet at the same time and I literally want to drink it. It scratches something in my brain that needed to be scratched for a long time. It also smells quite synthetic to my nose but I think that’s what I love about it. This also reminds of JHAG - Not A Perfume Superdose even though I only smelled it once when I was in the US. That one has cetalox and also carries a more “synthetic”, skin perfume vibe that I seem to appreciate a lot. I can’t get enough of Musc X and I love it so much that I want to wear it all the time and can not try my dozens of other decants. I don’t think I’ll ever get so sick of it either. If Not A Perfume and Superdose are what androids smell like, Musc X is what the Megan Fox android in Subservience smelled like. Sexy, warm, sweet and artificial. But I mean that in a good way. A few of these from this new launch had my attention, but Musc X seemed right up my alley and I’m so happy with it. Cotton candy is the note that made me want this. It literally is Superdose sweetened by cotton candy. BORNTOSTANDOUT has an idea about what warm sugar smells like to them. The same sweetness that’s present in this is also there in Oud Candy and Sugar Addict, but I like it here the most. Creating a fantasy note must be so interesting! I love their take on sugar. It has a depth to it that I really like. And I know these are EDTs, but I got this, sprayed it, showered and could STILL smell it on me after I got out (that’s my ultimate longevity test) my skin was just clean and sweet. Such a love.

The projection is no joke. I live in a 4 story townhouse with my parents. Do a little spray (2 sprays specifically), delay, walk away from my bathroom on 1 then head to 2 to make myself breakfast. My mom is coming down from stairs of 3, fully across the room from me and goes is that your perfume I'm smelling? I'm like holy shit, maybe? She described it as good, musky and spicy. Admittedly she has a sensitive nose but I've definitely been smelling it all day. I was personally worried about the cotton candy note but I haven't really gotten it? Its just been this nice, genderneutral maybe leaning femme very musky scent. There's a bit of sweetness, maybe thats the cotton candy? I'm always looking for perfect sexy/slutty scents for when I'm doing burlesque and this will definitely be in my rotation

I blind bought this and Gold Juice and this is the winner. I get a bit of incense, cotton candy and musk. It’s unique and out of my huge collection and everything I’ve tried, I’ve never smelled anything like this. It does not smell like Pacifica Island Vanilla (as suggested), that one smells like frosting to me and this one has no vanilla frosting smell. Maybe slightly similar to Absolute Aphrodisiac but this one is actually not as sweet and vanillic- instead more musky. I also dont get BR540, which I can’t stand so that’s good. You’d have to try it for yourself though as I can see it being very polarizing. You must love musk and at least a little incense.

Oh wow.. this is everything. Cotton candy is one of my favorite notes and this is exactly what I’ve always wanted from a cotton candy fragrance. It’s clean, musky and sugary without being overly sweet or juvenile. There’s a softness to it that feels elevated rather than playful. On the dry down it reminds me a lot of Noyz Only Human which happens to be one of my favorite skin scents which makes me love it even more. It has that intimate, musky warmth that sits close to the skin in the most addictive way. I ordered a 30ml to start but I already know I’ll be upgrading to the 100ml. This is the kind of scent I can see myself reaching for constantly.

My sister in law bought this for me when we visited the store. I loved how it was a skin scent when she asked me which one I liked most. I wouldn’t have bought it, because it’s very overpriced for what it is. The price should be about half. But it is a very nice skin scent. You smell like you love libraries and sweet treats. Wearable for literally every season and occasion. I do love it, but if I was going to spend their prices, I’d get a stronger one like dirty rice. Something that other brands aren’t doing.

My absolutely favorite from the entire BTSO brand! It reminds me of Arabians Tonka, not a dupe or anything, but it has a sharp aspect to it that immediately reminded me of Arabians Tonka. I love Only Human by Noyz but I don't think Musc X is anywhere near that -Musc X is better, more complex and less gourmand. It's beautiful, leans feminine, not juvenile but also not "old lady" like. One of the best scents I tried in 2026.

Years ago, I owned a Nest fragrance named Midnight Fleur. It was my favorite, now discontinued. If Musc X was around at the time, I would have purchased it as a satisfactory replacement. Same mysteriously musky BO, sweet, cloud vibe. Not sharp or chemical. I’m a huge fan of the Intimate line overall. The smell is strong, but it just doesn’t throw very far (intimate). Not irritating to my skin. Highly recommend.

I’m obsessed with this quirky, musky, powdery fragrance. It’s fun, but also pretty wearable. Nothing too outrageous for the office. If you liked love o Matic, I bet you would enjoy this. I’m not saying they’re similar at all, but the sweet/fruity plus clean notes are weirdly addicting.

This is MAGIC in a bottle! 💕 It’s sweet, sensual, a little salty even. Like licking cotton candy off of a lovers skin. I love how it’s girly but naughty feeling at the same time. It makes me feel sexy and irresistible! Grabbing a full bottle of this IMMEDIATELY!

Imagine Rosendo Mateu No 5 and Le Labo Another 13 having a child. Absolute fire. Sensual, daring, untamed. Definitely NOT a skin scent, performs amazingly well. About « intimité » think of it as a sexy lingerie as evokes deep intimacy.

Dirty, clean, and completely chaotic in the best way possible. 9/10

BTSO Musc X smells like ambroxan with sugared air added that smells bodily and a little like warm spit. Maybe like Jusbox Cheeky Smile that is like the other ambroxan fragrances already with sugared air to it and more woods. Musc X has the most airy sweetness in contrast to JHAG Not a Perfume that is just ambroxan to me with no sweetness. Lol I really like this. This is part of the intimate line so expect that in projection from the very beginning, but it lasts decently-moderately and carries in a breeze.

I can see the BR540 comparisons, but no. This is a warm, synthetic, kinda sticky, sweet, strong amber/musky scent. This is a familiar scent profile that is popular in the market. You might be able to find an alternative for a better price.

a somewhat stickier and sweatier unmute by noyz. recommended if you were recently licked by a dog and want to dramatically accentuate the stench

So this is EXACTLY smells like the Drydown of “F**** Fabulous” from Tom Ford !!

based on the notes in this, I was expecting to LOVE it. unfortunately, I did forget to take into consideration that BORNTOSTANDOUT is likely not making a fluffy, clean, light fragrance. immediately upon spraying, this is very thick to me. I get less cotton candy and more jelly bean/jelly fruit slice if they came in tutti-frutti flavor. I get a bit of that rough “dirtiness” that runs through the BORNTOSTANDOUT DNA, but it isn’t completely offensive. I can definitely see why this would be appealing to some, but for me it reads a bit too heavy, syrupy, and dirty. I may revisit in cooler weather, but the hypersweet almost incense (?) feel this gives is not currently my preference. I can see how it could be a distant, long-lost cousin to BR540. which I hate, lmfao. this isn’t my speed but probably for someone!

Initially I really liked this. A fun experiment in what could be a immature or slickly sweet scent but sticks the landing with balance in the grounding notes. However it, like a number of perfumes from BTSD, use that awful bitter synthetic musk or amber that stays on skin and clothes FOREVER. Even after washing my sweatshirt had a bitter stink.

Poorly blended fragrance, just like every other BTSO scent I've tried so far. It simply doesn't come together as a composition. It has nothing in common with either Baccarat or Cheeky Smile. Both are just way-way better than this one.

yummy sugar but accompanied with a very heavy frankincense smell. heartbreaking.
