Musk Khabib Attar

Just received my Musk Khabib attar. The quality of the oil is beautiful. I can't smell much difference to the extrait except for the way it wears and performs, which is exactly what I expect for an oil. I do have two gripes though, which is the vial and packaging and the fact that the texture of the oil is very thin. Regarding the vial, I tried to tighten the top back on, and the inner vial immediately became detached from the thick outer glass. I have applied tiny amounts of superglue to attach it, and now I'll always have to be careful with it. This is pretty shoddy, and surprising considering how robust their larger flacons are. I've never liked the Bortnikoff outer packaging and this is no exception, the Bortnikoff logo is skewed on the fabric box. All in all I'm happy with this purchase. I love the attar, just wish the vial hadn't immediately broken apart in my hands.

Gorgeous, enveloping blend of warm spices, creamy, custardy, banana-y ylang, richly balsamic tolu, luxurious vanilla and tonka, plush oakmoss, sensual deer musk and warm ambergris—couldn’t agree more with the review below mine (on Parfumo), this is an ylang lover’s dream. Lots of beautiful woody, nutty and fruity nuances as well. As they say, it’s absolutely sumptuous. Sillage strong at first and then becomes more moderate, but still with frequent glorious wafts. Longevity great. I own three Bortnikoff attars—Sayat Nova, Mysterious Oud and this—and they are all phenomenal. For $125/3g in a lovely glass vial, I consider them all spectacular deals. Bravo, good sir!!!

It's nice. The attar version is quite thin for my liking, so I put the 1/4 tola on a 3ml decant spray. Should've come in a 15ml spray and just charged accordingly.

If you have read musk khabib reviews for the extrait version of this perfume, you are seeing disappointment in the longevity. 3 to 5 how is what I'm seeing, which isn't bad for my skin anyways. However, if this an issue for you, the attar is the solution. It's a beast that will stay on you all day. Also, since it's a perfume oil it cannot be watered down, it has no alcohol. Well maybe a little to mix with but very little. Now on to the perfume oil itself. Other reviews are correct, the opening comes with some dried meat kinda smell. However, that went away right away on my skin. What's left on my skin is magic. It's a chypre at its core with the oakmoss being prominent. The amber facets from the ambergris make it anamalic in a good way, the natural musk, which is rare in modern perfumery turn this into a sexual fragrance. It's got a chypre du norde vibe, which is newer, but I think I like this more. Borkinoff strikes again for me. Maybe my third favorite house!
