Spanish Honey

I really like this but it's too feminine for me... I have a bottle of Amber Cologne and Dubai and this one right here is very Bortnikoff.... I would say it's like a more feminine and sweeter version of Dubai. Very nice.... I'm going to sample more to get to know it better. But if you're looking for a strong, sweet oud that leans feminine, floral and fresh this is very nice.

Gorgeous fragrance that is a bit on the animalic side. Women will find it too masculine and men will find it too feminine, but I find it JUST right.

Opens with lovely oud, honey, and ambergris right off the bat. It’s a fresh, slightly animalic opening with the florals coming in after a few minutes. This is the brand which helped me appreciate frangipani in masculine perfumes. For me, it’s slight baby powder vibes becoming sweeter over the next hour. It starts leaning more feminine, but returns to a beautiful unisex dry down. Bortnikoff dry downs are gorgeous and easily top tier. It’s been 2 months and my watchband still smells like Amber Cologne. Spanish Honey is noticeable in the air for about 3 hours then sits close to skin until the 5-6 hour mark. YES I overprayed with 8 sprays and NO it’s not too much. These frags are composed of natural ingredients (which I appreciate) so they aren’t beast mode - more of a strong scent bubble. These are very grounding scent profiles. I only have 4 bottles of Bortnikoff so far and am excited about adding to my ridiculous collection. #fraghead4life. I will wear this on warm spring days, warm fall days, and cooler summer nights. This will shine with warmth.

Only worn once for now. I'm sitting here reflecting on my first wear of this and I'm actually pleasantly surprised. The opening is a bit funky with the sweetness from the honey coming on a bit animalics. Usually I really like animalics but this one just feels a bit odd, so we're off to a bad start. Then after around 5 minutes this odd animalics honeyed opening vanishes and it turns into this bright, floral and spicy oudy fragrance. The oud and the florals in here is really nice and plays surprisingly well together, as I usually don't care much for ylang-ylang. After awhile it settles down into a both powdery and slightly creamy drydown. This was a really interesting wear as of the contrast and sudden changes. This might be the most interesting and most "Bortnikoff-like" from the "Entry level" collection. Performance is decent, not really something to write home about. 5-7 hours of longevity and sitting fairly close to skin. All in all I will probably not pursue a full bottle, as I wouldn't end up wearing it a lot, but for the right people this would truly be a gem.

The smell on test blotter is significantly different than the experience on skin. All I get on skin is a brooding, dark, dense oud, and little of the sweet honey, florals or aromatics that I got on test blotter. Disappointing, as the profile on blotter had me excited. Still, the only full-bottle worthy Bortnikoffs I've tried are Amber Cologne and Moss Cologne. I have a full bottle of Moss Cologne and that's the best imo.

this is not for me. the opening... something in here smells like chewed tobacco? maybe it’s too masculine for me. it’s kind of stinky, but maybe i don’t understand the vision.

This was almost an amazing fragrance, killed by yellow florals unfortunately. I bet it would have been perfect with out the ylang ylang!

............ and another, late, entry to the now crowded "2025 Year of the Honey and Cookie/Caramel Fragrances"! All I can say is, if you want a unique scent take on honey - check out Bee (Zoologist) - Zoo did it wayyyyyyy before everyone else.
