It is easily one of the most convincing and well-crafted interpretations of realistic tobacco I have encountered. From the opening, you can clearly detect the fibrous aroma of dried tobacco leaves. The rich, slightly sweet cigar-box note rises gently, accompanied by a subtle vanilla-bean softness. It feels exactly like burying your nose into an unlit premium hand-rolled cigar: the dry vegetal tone, the deep caramel-brown tobacco warmth, and the authentic organic texture are all faithfully recreated. The use of 300 types of tobacco absolutes is not a marketing gimmick—you can actually perceive the complexity: the green sharpness of fresh leaf veins, the deep brown maturity of cured tobacco, and the faint astringency of dried strands. The oud is introduced with remarkable restraint and precision; it never dominates. Instead, it contributes a cool, mint-tinged smokiness and a lightly charred woody nuance, blending seamlessly with the tobacco. This “cool burning-wood effect” is characteristic of high-quality oud, closely matching the scent profile of Brunei agarwood, proving that the raw materials used are indeed authentic. The drydown reveals a highly linear yet elegant oud-wood base: clean, steady, and reminiscent of the natural wood-powder aroma released when real agarwood is gently shaved. Once placed side-by-side, the latter’s thinness and simplicity become even more apparent. This is a tobacco-oud composition built on real materials, excellent structure, and remarkable realism—an exceptional creation worthy of its reputation.

GANDALF'S PLEASANTLY SOFT MAGIC TOBACCO My search for impressive new tobacco scents (new for me), took another step. This perfume is quite impressive indeed , but not as bold as I expected. Yet, today it grabbed the attention of my wife... twice!... on the opening and on they dry down. She made me a comment that almost made me laugh: "Today you smell oriental, balsamic, sweet and spicy... but in a very nice and likeable way for a change. It is like sitting besides Gandalf smoking his sweet pipe that smells of peace and hapinness, instead of wandering with him in an Orc castle smelling his thunder and lightning blunting wizardry". Well... She knew she would get my attention speaking of Tolkien's imaginary World. Initially, After spraying, the scent is wonderfully dark and sweet. There are hints of dates and figs wrapped in tobacco leaves, bitter ambrette seeds and spicy pepper, but no real fieriness. There is an obvious vanilla note, but it is dirty and dark, integrated into the tobacco and fig. After a while, it shifts from the juicy opening to a drier direction, which justifies the fragrance's name. The scent is now completely natural, with the subtle sweetness of brown sugar and cinnamon mingling with the dry tobacco leaves. It is more elegant than cloying. After a little more time, the slightly resinous benzoin comes through, giving the whole thing a rounded quality. One hour after spraying, the woody accords become more prominent. The scent now seems very balanced and surprisingly wearable, just like an everyday tobacco perfume. Delicate dry oud underlines the late evolution of the fragrance. Various balsamic accords blend together to create a warm, relaxed atmosphere. I quite like it. After the intense opening of fig and tobacco, which was both dry and juicy, I was expecting a little more intensity and character. Instead, it's an elegant and peaceful tobacco scent. MY OPINION: And excellent tobacco scent proposal by Dmitry Bortnikoff. However, as the perfume it is quite peaceful for what a Bortnikoff addict may expect, try before you buy. This is a class-leading tobacco scent, with tobacco absolute at the heart and only notes like ambrette, fig, and oud added to highlight the character of the tobacco. I find that tobacco scents are quite common in the market but few scents actually offer real wet leaf tobacco, instead hiding it behind veils of smoke, vanilla, and vetiver. This is a rare exception. BUT - the one caveat I have is that it progresses too quickly to a kind of dry, salty, balsamic phase, which is similar to the dry down of rosa's Manhattan. The rich dense tobacco disappears and we are left with something dry and resinous. The team from YouTube channel Wafts from the Loft mention this. They say it is pyrazine giving a 'burned popcorn vibe', although I don't get burned popcorn. But the nice people at Bortnikoff sent me a FREE sample of the Attar version (I am not a promoter, just a fan) and all these issues are resolved. The Attar has deep fig and oud and never enters a dry balsamic phase like the spray version. I have tried the attars for Dream, Oud Monarch and Lao Oud as well and they are all deeper and richer than the spray version - and beautiful packaging! So I would get a sample of the spray version and if you find it too dry and balsamic in the dry down, but like the overall scent profile, the attar is a no-brainer. I honestly think Dimitri tweaks the formulation for his attars so that they are richer and more rounded, even considering the expected different scent evolution as compared to the spray version (aroma chemicals effervesce differently from oil vs alcohol).

As everyone else has said below, this is a magnificent tobacco fragrance. Rich, deep, with an oud note in the base that is simply transcendent. But what really elevates this fragrance to the stratosphere, IMHO, is the brilliant opening. There is a slightly sweet note, probably from the apricot, and the tobacco is present at once too, but there is also a musky note from the ambrette that will, when taken with the tobacco and sweetness, remind anyone who has been around aging cigar tobacco of the smell of the real deal getting ready to be rolled into a great cigar. Add in a bit of vanilla and you have an incredible opening that prepares you for the smoky, rich spice, woods and tobacco notes that lie ahead. I have seen criticisms of Bortnikoff openings, and have often found them at least somewhat justified. Here, the opening is just as masterful as the rest of the scent. If you love tobacco-centric fragrances, this scent is definitely a must try. I get moderate to strong projection, a solid 6-8 hour longevity and a real warmth from this scent. Yet this fragrance works well on cool spring days along with the obvious fall and winter times for which it is ideal. Versatile, beautiful, incredible. Expensive, but here you get value for money. Very highly recommended.

Now this...Is Why...I Collect...FRAGRANCES ! Tabac Doré is art. My nose foesnt pick up on any of the individual notes listed. The combination of notes in this fragrance are so well blended, & all are working to enhance this note of Tobacco. This fragrance smells true to the scent of freshly cured Tobacco Leaves. Its insanely Pungent. Dry, yet at the same time Moist, & Dark. This is not a sweet Fragrance. Theres no Cherry, Vanilla, or anything Syrupy & crowd pleasing being used to soften the initial shock of this Tobacco accord. But it does have the same muted sweetness of an authentic Tobacco Leaf. I have yet to smell a Tobacco note this authentic in any fragrance. And you can literally wear this fragrance in combination with any fragrance that you want to add a note of Tobacco to. The performance is not Beast, & for a fragrance that smells of nothing else but Tobacco it doesnt need to be. Tabac Doré gave me moderate projection & lasted on my skin over 10 hours. However, the lasting power & projection was better on my clothing. Tabac Doré is still going strong on my shirt after 2 days. Tabac Doré is a love for me. Great job Dmitry.

Blown away. This one doesn’t get quite the hype of some other offerings from the house, so my expectations were somewhat tempered. Turns out it very well maybe my favorite from the line. An immersion of tobacco absolute, complex and mysterious. A punch of petroleum oud, with pink pepper sparkle adding its texture. Classically wooden, but in no way antiquated. Multidimensional sweetness from the blend of vanilla, fig, and benzoin. Performance seems to be a cut above its siblings (that I’ve tried) as well. I don’t get any of the comparisons to some of the more popular scents it’s been compared to. Tobacco is one of, if not my favorite note, and I think this is the best I’ve ever tried. From my first test it made a Herculean leap into my pantheon.

Tabac Dore is in a word, "luscious". Wet smelling, slightly sweet tobacco that is at the same time slightly dry...but it's more moist than it is dry. A very strong fragrance that doesn't require much to envelope you in a cloud of incredible beauty all day. Musk Cologne is still probably my favorite Bortnikoff, but Tabac Dore is right there with it. It's a stunning achievement and is definitely my favorite tobacco fragrance, which is saying something as there are so many that are wonderful and that I also love. Okay, another one word description for this incredible fragrance, "transcendent". It takes me to an amazing place, and I love going there with Tabac Dore. Two thumbs up as high as possible.

I love this fragrance, It starts off with a dry tobacco and apricot accord mixing with ambrette + Labdanum which gives it a creamy seedy dense leathery-rich amber vibe. After spraying this fragrance multiple times, I’ve noticed the plum cinnamon accord that was hard for me to pick out because of the amazing blend. In the mid the tobacco accord dies down and the is seemingly replaced with a benzoin and smoked wood vibe(this charred wood character) the base is similar to the mid but the apricot, plum and ambrette notes have faded completely. You’re now left with a gorgeous dry amber wood scent. The projection 7/10 Longevity 9/10 Scent 10/10 I absolutely recommend you try this.

This one along with lao oud i recieved just yesterday are both MASSIVE clothes stainers so be warned😂(literally dyed my arm). Both this tabac doré and lao oud are very strong on first spray ans definitely not for everyone but as it calms down it has become one of the best drydowns i have ever smelled, highly natural and pleasant. The wet tobacco leaf damp sweet forest feel is so addictive in the opening and as it dries down further the honeyes sweetness and balsamic qualities pop up with abit of connamony spice and it's just spectacular. Not to mention this is the best looking bottle i have ever seen (personally) with gorgeous presentation!

This juice is absolutely incredible. i love tobacco perfumes and this is the pinnacle. I have had many many different darker, oudy perfumes. This is still the best tobacco perfume I have and to be honest it's top 3 of the oud perfumes I have (probably second to Russian Oud II). The perfume. This stuff is sticky, sweet tobacco, underpinned with resinous woods and a touch of oud. The vanilla / tobacco shine through throughout the full wear. It does not evolve much but why should it when the opening is perfect! I absolutely cannot wait to wear this more in the colder months. I am going to grab a backup bottle.

A very fine tobacco blend suited for fans of its austere and provocative scent profile. This is the smell of sniffing the body of a cigar, igniting it, enjoying its taste, and engulfing into it’s cloud of smoke. It’s a dense scent but sits close to the skin, in a very mature, classy and reserved manner. The dry down smells like a cigar sitting on an ashtray slowly going out. Not the smell of ash per se, but the overall scent of an unfinished cigar. Price is steep on this one, but fans of Tobacco Oud Intense and Jeke will more than likely appreciate this one, I certainly do.

This is the best tobacco fragrance I’ve ever smelled. Like an authentic vanilla cigar blended in the smoothest highest quality possible. As with all bortnikoffs, I like the extrait more than the attar, which I found to be less sweet and complex and more of a one dimensional tobacco scent that was boring in comparison. The attars smell muddled and the extraits more complex with a clearer note definition and more contrast between them 5/5

This is a great tobacco fragrance. Right of the bat it you are hit with some sweet vanille, but a few seconds later its all about fine tobacco with a soft blend of oud. The oud actually makes the tobacco note more smooth. The balsam and cinnamon almost gives it a hint of liquorice type of tobacco Would I recommend it? Even if its nice, this is probably something you wear for your self and not as a daily scent.

Holy fucking shit I love this and it hurts that I can’t wear it for some years. This is an elegant perfume beyond my years. Fits an middle-aged to older man for classy occasions. You get the tobacco along with the deep chocolaty vanilla (in my opinion). For you lighter skinned people you might get a strange, almost boozy rum note that is not listed at all. All in all. A beautiful tobacco fragrance!

What a beautiful tobacco fragrance ! I was choosing between this and lokoum, but this one is so much more me and I really wanted a nice tobacco scent. It’s not a burning cigarette smell, it’s more like a nice cigar scent. Beautiful and warm. Easy to wear and a bit spicy. I only smell tobacco and pepper but I’m ok with that because that’s exactly what I was looking for

Rich deep tobacco loaded with balsams, amber and wood. My 10ml has aged 2 years and the coffee has toned down or I don't sense it as much as I remember. Lots of complexity here with great performance. May stain clothes but I prefer to wear on skin anyway. Beautiful natural perfumery. Scent 9.3/10 Performance 7/10

An absolutely sublime tobacco fragrance. Hard hitting and unapologetic, this one is really for the tobacco lovers. Right up there with the best and fortunately the tobacco isn't muted by sweet notes, other than ever so subtle natural tobacco sweetness. Well blended, moderate sillage and good longevity.

holy TOBACCO. it's like one of the ultimate tobacco fragrances because it literally smells like 1000 humidors. ramsey explained it best in his Bortnikoff video if you really love natural tobacco fragrances, you definitely need to smell this one

i get the comments below me claiming this perfume lacks power but in terms of smell? my god this THE BEST smelling bortnikoff in my book and i'm a lover of the brand. it's so opulent and rich, best of house and best tobacco i've ever smelled.
