My favorite from Bortnikoff. I've smelled almost his whole line at this point and this was the best of the bunch. A true rose-oud where you smell almost photorealistic rose with more of the woody oud (not off-putting, fecal or cheesy). One of the most overdone genres is rose-oud but it's also probably my favorite genre of perfumery, so I've tried most of the mainstream ones (Dior Oud Ispahan, Armani Rose d'Arabie, Guerlain Santal Royale, among many others) as well as a ton of Middle Eastern ones (Arabian Oud's offerings like Rosewood). Triad is the best rose-oud I've tried, so far. The rose is so opulent, realistic, and the clear focus of the scent. The oud is clean, sharp, and strong (but, again, not stinky). I get mostly that beautiful rose and the woody oud for the majority of the scent. At the end I get a bit of tonka and what smells like ambergris, although it's not listed here. The primary notes last 8-10 hours on my skin and it's only after that it dies off. Projection is huge to start and slowly dies off...but this is one you don't want to overspray. Fantastic for the Spring/Fall. A 9.25/10 for me. A true classic in my mind.

This smells a lot less like a rose-oud than I expected. The initial blast is petrolly oud with piercing, jammy florals, all of which dies down quickly to make way for the undulating, complex waves of woody oud and, to me, magnoilia first, and then rose and hyrax in equal measures. The rose is reminiscent of the metallic roses Christopher Sheldrake makes for Serge Lutens, although this doesn't smell like a Serge Lutens perfume, make no mistake. There is a breathtaking depth to this, with no synthetic edge whatsoever. You have to like magnolia, and you have to be OK with hyrax, as they're both persistent (I mean, all of the notes are but I feel like these two could be the most challenging, as the oud is a very woody, erudite oud). Before long it starts to develop a rich, ambery, nutty, chocolatey base, which is when my heart really starts to sing. Absolutely wonderful and worth every penny. Update: it seemed light when I wore it in my apartment, but out and about it's NUCLEAR, be careful. Update: the more I wear this, the more the hyraceum dominates. This is way more stinky and challenging than I first thought!

One of the most evocative and moving offerings of the fine Bortnikoff line of this fragrances is this multi layered Oud forward Floriental. It opens with a Sri Lankan almost chocolate like Oud, before moving to a heart of rose de mai, magnolia, and a mixture of Chinese and Indonesian Ouds. The perfume settles into a base of Thai Oud and benzoin accentuated by hyraceum and sweetened by tonka bean. The overall effect is more spiritual and uplifting rather than animalic or barnyardish. The perfume showcases the superior blending skills of Mr. Bortnikoff perfectly and is a unisex scent with moderate to strong projection and very good longevity. This is one that is bound to get you noticed for all the right reasons, a warm yet serene and glowing scent and a masterwork. Enjoy!

One of my favorite rose Oud perfumes . Oh my goodness this is so good. But it’s very low on Oud and very high on rose . I know the ingredients list shows Oud at top, mid and dry down but no, there is very lil Oud in this. Bortnikoff always does this, claims to contain a lot of Oud in his perfumes but then it’s nowhere to be found . I get it, Oud is very expensive. But at $350 a bottle, we are paying for a high quality Oud rose perfume and getting a 95% rose 5% Oud perfume. I don’t mind, I love rose and Triad, but many other ppl are pissed off at Bortnikoff and his claim of his perfumes containing all this Oud and then it’s undetectable .

My bottle needed a few days to breath. It's getting to be Spring time, and this is great, with the weather getting warmer. The rose is slightly lemony and photo realistic, fresh. It's not all rose, joined by the white magnolia that gets stronger throughout. I thought I smelled some earthy spices, but I 💬 it's just the nutty Tonka and benzoin. Great ouds, and the hyrax makes it really enjoyable and interesting. Not overdone with animalics. Yeah, best rose oud. For Spring and warmer weather. Rating: 9.5/10 God bless. My favorite Oud/Rose, hands down. Exquisitley balanced woody/floral/animalic perfection. Sits on your skin like an amber, but the brightness of the rose screams spring. What can I say? Wearing this makes me feel happy. It's so well crafted that it could literally be worn year round - the (un-funky) depth of the oud/animalics gives it oomph and staying power for colder weather, but the florals that waft as you walk take you to a summertime garden. It has excellent projection and sillage and lasts a good 6-8 hours - really good for a natural perfume. A top contender for best Bortnikoff. Easily in the top 5 for me.

I am not going deep into notes details as it’d be redundant... I confirm this is a rose Oud masterpiece, even if we’re surrounded by them, this one stands out in its austerity and simplicity. Natural ingredients makes it worth trying even if you already own other rose Oud perfumes. Note on the dry down: the creamy tonka bean makes you think of lot of sandalwood. Longevity is 12+ hours Projection is perfect, this is a perfume for you, not for others to smell . My compliments to Dmitry

This has quickly ascended to my favorite perfume to wear in the heat. This is an unapologetic rose and oud fragrance, yet at the same time, its light on its feet, and contemplative. This fragrance will not hit you over the head, rather it will persist with gentle wafts of rose de mai, and wispy oud throughout the day. It is clean, spiritual, meditative, and mind-altering-ly relaxing. Projection and longevity are outstanding. It's not loud, but present for 8+ hours. Peace and Love!

This is indeed one of the best rose-ouds I've ever tried! It's very natural & balanced, not at all redundant or boring. If it wasn't for Malik Al Taif (ALD)'s divine opening, I would've gotten this for sure—although the rose is shy in comparison, it has the PERFECT drydown (with a persistent honey undertone from tonka) for such compositions! I wish I could get the best of both worlds...I wonder what would happen if I layered them 🤔

One of the absolute most pristine rose fragrances I've ever had the pleasure to smell. And just as you dare to think the words "linear" the clean, deeply woody Oud hits you and balances up the fragrance perfectly along with the sweeter, balsamic amber drydown. Sensual, crowdpleasing and just an absolutely beautiful creation.

I get a beautiful rose on the initial spray, not overly flowery but very classy. The oud makes its presence after the drydown and the combination of oud and rose is very eloquently done. Projection is petty good but this is not beastly. Very versatile...work..formal or casual. Well done Mr. Bortnikoff!

Masterpiece! Great Rose-Oud-Musk-Floral very slightly animalic that projects well for the first 1 to 2 hrs. Smell’s enchanting in the air and creates a beautiful sillage. Excellent blending and very smooth. Great for bold wearers who like attention. Autumn & Winter. Shukran Habibi!

Oud paired with piercingly aromatic florals (heavy rose) all throughout. The oud used in this is definitely somewhat sour but I think it beautifully mixes with the rose and soft animalic / warm resinous backgrounds of the fragrance, this smells luxurious.

I’m in love! Received this and another today from Bortnikoff. This is definitely the most true oud rose I have ever smelt! The boxing presentation is outstanding, something I usually could care less about. I will be keeping the box for this one.

Wow this is an incredibly beautiful perfume. I have a bottle from a year ago and an old first year bottle and they’re both amazing.

I was so shocked by the blast of intense eye watering stink that dominates this on first spray that I nearly gagged. But wait- after about 5 minutes a tart yet syrupy rose arises, and the stink diminishes. Triad still has an edge of acridness in this opening stage but its high quality ingredients are so good that the rose smells almost 3-d and as though it’s sitting in a vase right next to me. Some stink does remain, it has a slight dankness at this stage that is interesting but not particularly appealing. These qualities of sharpness and funk do give a counterpoint to the richness of the rose, and really serve to highlight its beauty. I’m not sure whether they come from this Oud or the hyrax or a combination but wow, you’ll notice it. Anyway, The slightly acrid quality lasts about an hour and then it smoothes out into a beautiful and spicy but much less intense and rich rose with a touch of Wood. In time a smoother Oud is more apparent and the rose changes again and becomes quite a bit sweeter and milder. Triad starts out harsh and ugly and ends soft and beautiful. I can still smell a whisper of the rose on my arm 12 hours later.

Opens with a prominent Damask rose smell, the oud is there but becomes more prominent after the first few hours. There is no funkiness/cheesiness in this whatsoever. The oud is very safe, the woody, earthy type of oud. It is a simple and pleasant composition that is suitable for various occasions, safe even for the office. The projection is not beastly but moderate and continues for the first few hours, thereafter, it sits close to the skin and remains for a good few hours. The tonka bean/benzoin gives it a slight sweetness in the base but I don't get any of the hyraceum. This is a fragrance I would recommend for oud beginners or people who want oud without the barnyard smell, it is not as complex and interesting as Oud Maximus, which still remains my favourite Bortnikoff.

I LOVE Triad's oudy, sweet and slightly animalic dry down but am not a fan of the opening blast. I don't think Sri Lankan oud is the top note. The first 15 minutes or so the fragrance is dominate by the rose de mai, which is too sour for my taste. The rose here is both tart and lemony and there is a hint of magnolia. I wish it were sweeter and I think a jammy rose would work a lot better. The rose slowly exits after 20-30 minutes, revealing the oud blend that I truly enjoy. It is pure, sweet and creamy, and more on the lighter side. Reminds me of a sinking grade oud ground I use for my electric burner. It has a slightly smoky and animalic twist and blends well with my skin chemistry.

Only from a sample. I learned a few things trying this. 1. It is art. But, I would not pay the retail price for it. 2. It can take a couple of wears to appreciate it. 3. The opening can be off-putting. Immediately, the opening reminded me of Zoologist Hyrax. It took me a few wears to really appreciate that one. I actually do enjoy both. Crowded areas may give you pause to wear. Who cares? Right? Wear what you want. About two hours in, it really shines. Worth a try.

Dirty, animalic oud rose, very potent. Definitely a statement maker, if you want a beast mode oud rose then this is one of the more expensive options. 7/10

Fuck Dmitry Bortnikoff, I don't understand how him made this fragrance. It's just a mediocre, generic agarwood scent like those on the market. It contains Thai and Chinese Agarwood, and I don't sense any characteristic Agarwood at all; it's more like artificial Agarwood with a hint of Rose, and it doesn't have any Animalic feel to it. And yet it gets a 4.37 rating here. I'd be lucky to give it a 4.00.

This smells like acetone on me and I can’t seem to get it off of me! I’m extremely disappointed but I’m glad I only purchased a sample from luckyscent.

Oudy, animalic rose. Triad is a woody oud & rose fragrance with a noticeable animalic support. The rose is the most dominante note, very classical, powdery, & old school rose. The oudy woodiness is quiet noticeable but it is not purely from oud, possibly it is Thailand Oud that smells different than the common oud. The animalic note, hyrax, provides beautiful support to the oud & it dials down quickly after a slightly fecal opening, becoming a supporting background note, given Triad a fuller, rounder, more mature & classy feel. Oud & animalic notes work very well & in Triad they are done well. Very rosey, oudy, incensy, woody, with a moderate animalic facet. Triad is beautiful oud/rose oriental smell. It simply smells like rose & oud oils mixed, with the oud naturally bringing that animalic hint. Very likeable for people who like this classic combination. However, that price is quite ridiculous. It is only justifiable if it is natural oud, otherwise this is a ripoff. I do not know if Bortnikoff uses natural oud oil or not but they claim "85-100% natural ingredients in our natural perfumes". If that is the case, it is understandable. 3ml of high quality oud can sell for +$300/€250. I like the smell. It is quiet Arabic & exotic. However, this is not very unique if you are familiar to Arabic oud-centeric houses, like Abdulsamad Al Qurashi, Arabian Oud...etc. A mature, cool weather wear, unisex. "Like"

this is a rose-oud masterpiece! the rose is sickly sweet, like the rose essence cordial indian/middle-eastern cuisines mix with milk and ice cream. it's amazingly smooth and deep, with traces of green chlorophyll in the back. the oud is blunted; there is no stank, no funk, no dust, no chalk. it's like a painkilled toothache where all you can feel is numb and you can't actually discern what type of pain you feel, or the teeny-tiny nuances of the pain, you just 'feel' it'. the oud is felt, for real, but the individual characteristics have been mixed/levelled out, which isn't a bad thing, but, you know... there's also traces of resin in the background, too, not much, but enough to be picked up. i'm getting trace elements of animalics, too, but not enough to influence the course of the scent. all in all, it is indeed a very VERY well mixed scent, with a lot going on. this kinda scent ain't my bag all that much, and so i won't be looking for any more of this, but it is inDEED well worth seeking out and sampling... ***EDIT*** About 6 or 7 hours in, the oud comes out to play, and it is potent! Smokey, stank-moist and chalky. This one is not really my thing, to tell you the truth. There aren’t many ouds that I love, and this one ain’t my fave.

Quality-9 Opulence-7-8 No plebeians will be found wearing this, this comes off very aristocratic. Longevity- Good Enough. Review: I got mine from Scent Split, whom I think have an amazing selection. Before notes, I would like to begin with feelings and thoughts I experience with the scent. This scent evokes the feeling of an opera house or a grand concert hall filled with classical music. It is organically whimsical in a genuinely charming way. Sophisticated and very pleasant, and opulent. It's difficult to specify an occasion for this scent, it seems very versatile. It’s the kind of scent that draws compliments and encourages, what I like to call intruder sniffs. As always with Bortnikoff, the quality is exceptional. I plan on reviewing more of the house in the future. Notes: The fragrance opens with a soft oud that slowly unfolds into a musky rose. A gorgeous soft musk then gracefully envelops the entire composition, giving it a nice rich scent.

a light barnyard oud opening & then I notice there's something in it that smells similar to initio oud for greatness 5-10 minutes later, powdery, leathery, jammy rose mingling with citrus & spices earthy, woody, tangy, savory, musky animalic, & sweet not bad but not my style - the masculine notes are too dialed up (which was also the case for me with initio oud for greatness) making it flashy, loud, & lacking the refinement of an expert blend

Now this is an oud fragrance. It is very woody and resinous, light barn with hints of leather, tobacco, coffee, and chocolate which is what I have come to love about the more traditional indian style ouds. The rose is also very notable in this fragrance reminding me of Beauty and the Beast from Areej le Dore. Must love oud to enjoy this. 9/10

Bulgarian Rose. Anybody who ever had a chance to smell extract from Bulgarian Rose which was easy to buy in Yugoslavia in 80’s will know this scent. I guess you can pack it in fancy bottle and call it Triad and sell it for $350 and most people would buy into it but try to sell it to someone from Bulgaria and they will Laugh in your face.

Cant break down notes on this one, but general feeling goes as next: pink in color, silky smooth, moist/humid, boozy rose. Rose is the star of the show, top to bottom. Good longevity, about 7-8 hrs, quiet silage. This is very borderline between feminine and masculine tipping just slightly to femme side. Very interesting creation

Wish I could give a long description about this, but to simplify it, this smells like gasoline and rose. Very clear and despite the smell, feels like it could be used any time of the year. Quite versatile, but you really need to like the smell of gas to enjoy this.

On paper this is a very animalic oud fragrance. Sure there are hints of florals, chocolate, leather, but I also pick up on a salty urine note. Maybe animalic fragrance lovers will love this, but not sure I would want to be around someone wearing this

Yes the rose is too heavy and there could be more oud, as is almost always the case unfortunately even at these prices, but the wood cap version I have has unavoidable oud and a delicious rose, my favorite clean oud & rose so far

I get ZERO fecal or barnyard character from this... At first it smells like a chemical factory. Then it smells like rank body odor with a heavy, very realistic rose note. I'm still waiting to be showered with compliments... 😅

Rosy oud... This is the real oud, but rose and musk is conquering more than the oud used in here. A mild sour oud (Seri lankan) with rose oil, and musk. Beautiful Arabian style rose oud blend.

The best Rose/Oud I’ve come across! Amazing, projects and just gets better with time. The Hyrax I feel really makes it special and gives depth. Great work here!
