After owning and loving bottega veneta eau legere I reached to the point that this brand is really high quality(and highly underrated in iran)and I'd love to try it's other perfumes so I searched and finally found a forgotten decant of knot that I remember to dislike before As soon as I sprayed it I renembered why I disliked it.it opens with strong lime and lavender on my skin,very detergent like also reminding a lemony dish washer but that's not why I didn't like it since I love lavender and I like detergent scents but I can't get along well with sour citruses and it's really sour on me but also very fresh but this time I decided to give it time to settle and it didn't dissapoint.after couple of minutes knot's floral heart blooms and it's sourness mellows to a fresh lemony undertone mingling with neroli,orange blossom and a hint of peony(neroli being the pack leader)I can't say that I love it head over heels but to be honest it's fresh,clean,pleasant and feminine(unlike it's unisex opening) I was thinking wether it's FB worthy or not that I suddenly caught myself being unable to move my hand far from my nose.knot has an amazing drydown do good that makes me dream of a heaven like spring in italy,where I've never been in real life Neroli,orange flower and musk blend to create a clean,soapy floral scent with citrusy freshness hovering from back and a delicate,almost creamy (not thick or fatty cream)sweetness rounds sharp edges.god this is gorgeous and I don't know how bottega veneta perfumes manage to smell this expensive and classy but they do simple but chic,clean and classy feminine perfumes is what I used to call french style but now I see calling it italian syle is as aptly I see that most of people rated for spring and fall as best seasons for this lovely sheer veil of newly washed skin and a breeze of citruses and citrus flowers but for me summer seems as good as spring to enjoy it's calm and clean and cool and fresh scent.furthur more on my skin musk need a bit of warmth to act My pocket is sad for this new discovery as I had promised myself to do the impossible and not to buy a single perfume until the end of spring but I have to save for a bottle,I'm lucky that my friend has it in her perfume shop,as bottega perfumes arent easy to find here.it's bottle looks as great as it's scent so I can't wait for the day of ordering it It's a delicate scent but Longevity is +8 hours,sillage isn't big but I can catch lovely whiffs of it through these hours Now I'm looking forward to test knot floral

At certain times of year I can get my hands on Satsuma Oranges, which are small oranges that are easily peeled and often come with fragrant green leaves attached to a stem. They smell so good, the scent is rich and a bit woody, and if you crush the leaves the leaves have a lovely bitter orange pine scent. Which is all to say, that orange top on Knot--clementine, mandarin, and neroli, is really really gorgeous and smells like a Satsuma orange. It smells very bright and herbal, and a little green even. It smells like a sun radiating from my skin. The clementine-orange-neroli accord is the theme for the entire wear of the perfume. Knot isn't a perfume that has short-lived citrus top notes before transitioning into something else. It's kind of impressive actually. Anyway, the initial burst of oranges is quickly complimented by a silky/powdery lavender and iris, which unfortunately lasts less than 10 minutes on my skin. The lavender note is only part of the topnotes and disappears quickly. It is followed by the floral notes, on me it is mostly the rose/"white rose" because it does smell like more of a white floral than a red one. Thankfully the peony isn't that noticeable because I generally don't like peonies. The orange-white rose floral part is really enjoyable but only lasts maybe an hour. After that the musks move in, but they are light, more of a cashmere musk with a hint of dry woody vanilla. At this point too the orange is less green and herbal, and more of an orange blossom flower. This is the part that is the bulk of Knot, an orange flower over musk. It doesn't smell soapy to me but does feel very clean and mentally the scent is very relaxing. I really, really like Knot, but here's the things I wish were different: I wish the lavender and rose portions lasted longer, and I wish that it projected more. The lasting power is excellent with a proper application (like 6+ sprays) but it wears as a skins scent almost immediately. So I wish the whole thing was more amped-up. Still this is great for when you are stressed or tired or depressed, it is a very mood lifting perfume (must be all those citrus notes) or for when you just have to go to work. And this should be obvious but this is not overly 'feminine' and anyone interested in the notes should give it a shot, it's a well done perfume. And the bottle is gorgeous.

I ordered a sample of this and tested it against my reference decant of Knot Eau Absolue. There's a definite similarity in DNA. However, Knot Eau Absolue (KEA) opens with a strong and very concentrated blast of white florals from the one-two punch of neroli and jasmine. KEA smells like a very mature and elderly matron's perfume for going to church. This does not. This opens with citrus but it disappears notably fast - quicker than other citrus frags. The citrus is gone before this even dries down. White florals similar to KEA take over but they are more subdued and slightly fruitier here. I can also see where some commenters have said this smells like clean laundry. In any case, at least it doesn't have church-y vibes. It also smells like a younger woman's scent. If KEA is for wealthy women 60 and up, this smells like something a wealthy woman in her late 20's to her 40's would wear to the office. Speaking of the white florals, there's nothing indolic about them in regular Knot. In KEA there is a faint hint of indolic-ness but only if you get real up close and breathe in hard. You have to be really looking for it because it's mostly masked by some powderiness deep in background of KEA. In the dry down regular Knot smells like expensive body lotion compared to KEA which is unrelentingly church-y throughout its duration. 1hr in the body lotion scent has taken on a rubbery quality. IDK if it's just my body chem but imagine the scent of rubber bands, dial it down a notch or two and you're there. Over the next few hours this rubber band-y scent will gradually diminish and soften even more until you are left with the scent of clean musk on your skin. Longevity in my testing is 8 hrs for the regular Knot. By this point the rubber band scent has mellowed out so much it smells citrusy. It lasts longer on me than KEA which only has a lifespan of around 4-5 hrs. UPDATE: I need to correct myself. 10 hrs in the citric musk is still there. Nose to skin I can still smell it without much effort. I'm now thinking this will last a solid half a day.

This is beautiful. It is a fresh, soft spicy, musky scent. It is clean and fresh smelling, but still has depth and mystery and the right amount of grittiness. For me this is timeless, sophisticated, dignified, aloof and sexy in a very pent up way. The main notes I detect are neroli, musk, and orange flower which is freshened up with strong traces of lavender and lime. The lavender and lime give it a sort of herbal, balmy freshness. This scent is truly exquisite, and although not the most unique scent in the world, it has that little something that draws you in and keeps you addicted. I cannot say no to this scent, I always have to spray when in town. It is definitely one of the best fragrances of all time, a masterpiece and a treasure in the simplest sense. It is just luxurious and sophisticated, yet not at all loud, ostentatious or overbearing. I don't get overwhelming projection or lasting power like others have mentioned. It is very average in that regard for me personally. I wish it was not so expensive, I could easily wear this everyday- I will never have a favourite fragrance, however this one could very easily and comfortably be my signature scent. This scent comforts me and makes me feel sexy and confident, and most importantly, comfortable in my own skin and with my own current reality- whatever that may currently be. I find this scent reassuring and empowering. I imagine an unsociable, aloof woman, who is suspicious and mistrusting of others, with not many friends or lovers wearing this scent. She smiles very infrequently and loathes small talk, and always looks distant and mentally preoccupied during such social events. Overall I give this scent 9/10.

I really do love this perfume. It’s a very classic , European smelling fragrance that brings me right back to Austria ,Italy and Germany. I think of summertime ,happy times and holidays! It smells like what my mother smelled like on our summer Holidays in Austria. Love the lavender and the orange blossom ,it’s very aromatic ,clean, fresh and sunny. But what I love most of all is the warm solar feel of this. The rich part ,vanilla and Tonka with the musk and lavender , so clean yet so warm. Daniella did it again,she is definitely my favorite perfumer , big fan ! I own knot florale and love it ,it has a different character though,it’s more powdery and clean in the sense of linen sheets with much less orange blosom, less lavender and less vanilla if any. They are related but not closely. Having said that all Danila’s fragrances ,or most of her perfumes are clean and elegant ,she is the perfumer of the whole prada line and known for her clean scents. Italien perfumes are my favourites and if she has her stamp on it it’s almost a garantied winner ! In addition, knot lasts into the next day. Forever ,, Update ,,, I have been wearing this a few days now and I am obsessed! It’s the warmth I love about this. The herbal hint of the lavender and the Tonka and musk with the vanilla. It’s like a better jersey ! Addicted 100% !,, it still manages to smell clean ,like walking the streets in Italy with all the freshly washed clothes hanging on the lines. What a feeling ! Music to my senses !

I went into Knot with basically no expectations - the original Bottega Veneta EDP is one of my absolute favorites, but obviously Knot is totally unrelated in terms of notes, and these are notes that I'm not even particularly interested in. But I ordered a sample out of curiosity and sprayed it on immediately upon delivery without refreshing my memory of what notes or accords to expect. INSTANT love. It's the perfect neroli, to my mind, exactly as florally sweet as it should be and with clean musks that take away that rough edge neroli has that often ruins the note for me in other fragrances. Whoever pointed out that it smells like a magazine perfume sample strip is so right btw - I have no idea how or why, because obviously there shouldn't be a singular "perfume strip" smell, but I've never so strongly and immediately agreed with one of the listed pros/cons on this site. For reference, I grew up in the 90s; not sure if different age groups would have a different experience. Does that mean Knot is a 90s throwback? I don't think so, but at the same time there is something so nostalgic about it.

Oh wow...! This is just beautiful! I get a rich, beautifully blended, uplifting scent unlike any other, at least with my skin chemistry (and my perception). Can't get enough of this... The other day I spritzed once and a few minutes later my daughter's eyes got bright and she said "wow - something smells sooo good - what is it??" Yep. Not my strong suit, but now and then I can detect specific notes in a fragrance, but this one just seems so perfectly blended although I can detect a slight orange scent initially. A fragrance for any time of year, any occasion. Oh and I'm especially appreciating this after spritzing the fragrance enhancer "Canvas & Concrete" (thank you fellow reviewers!) because it really does extend the wear time of my fragrances, as well as extending the top notes scent. Canvas & Concrete is the 3rd fragrance primer I've purchased and it's definitely THE most effective. Bought it directly on their site since it's the best value I found (around $25 for large bottle).

Although this doesn't exactly amaze me, I'm impressed anyway. It's very elegant, definitely up there with all the nicest cologne-inspired Mediterranean style citrus/herby/floral perfumes. And although I don't normally like peony because I find it a bit sharp and headachey, this perfume is one where it really works. It harmonises with the fresh, natural feel of citruses. I'm really reminded of various eau de cologne style perfumes, but though I've been wearing this all day I just can't put my finger on one in particular - maybe Eau de Lierre, maybe Au The Vert, something like MFK's Amyris, anyway that doesn't matter, I'd say this is a definite 'go to' easy to wear summer perfume that will make you feel refreshed, elegant and classy. I sprayed it on around 2pm, it's now 10pm and it's still going strong. I also really enjoyed the scent of it while making myself a fresh coffee - the combined scent of coffee and citrus/floral cologne reminds me of European holidays. Very nice!

I have been impressed with the Bottega Veneta fragrance line thus far and continue to be with Knot which is refreshing and beautiful. I love the initial Neroli which is strong at the start. Then the Orange blossom and the rest of the citrus notes come in along with the Musk and Lavender to make a very well rounded Spring/Summer scent for me anyway. It is similiar to Elie Saab Le Parfum which I also love but it doesn't have the Patchouli so it is not quite as earthy. This is more creamy and reminds me of my Prada Infusion d' Oranger in that it is very organic smelling. The lavender which I love here is what sets this apart. I am glad I bought this. Divine and feminine. Sillage is moderate on me and the longevity is six hours+. I give Knot a 9/10

This is indeed very different from previous BV fragrances. I really had to get used to this as I am a woody/ musk/ floriental girl. I am testing this at the moment and must day the more I test it...the more I like it. I never call a perfume soapy but this scent gives me a nostalgic vibe.During my childhood my mom used to buy a soap called Muguet du bois by Vinolia...this smells exactly like that soap when its still in the box unused. I know that there is no lily of the valley mentioned but still Knot reminds me of that soap. Though in a very positive way. I think this perfume will come like a fresh breath of air in my wardrobe. This can be used during all seasons. It smells very clean , elegant and sophisticated.

I think I have already written one on this but I got a sample in winter and now I am using it. It is so beautiful, I am wanting a bigger bottle. It smells fresh and slightly powdery I immediately get the orange blossom and neroli, it kind of reminds me of jo Malones orange blossom but lighter. Definitely soapy in a body lotion or shampoo sort of way. Perhaps a little clean linen. Super fresh and a very light floral and remains pretty close to the skin for me personally and it lasts about 3 hours before it's only a faint whisper. I am considering a full-sized bottle of this but the longevity and sillage at the price point are making me reconsider.

When it appeared, a few years ago, I didn't like it, I thought it was too much of a relative of 4711. Since then I trained my nose a little and I find it now an extremely well blended aromatic scent. I love lavender when it's not too fresh, not too sweet, not pungent. Here, combined with neroli/orange blossom, peony (I don't get the rose) and citrus, tonka and muscs it turns into this velvety floral-balsamic potion with a fine bitter edge. It is unique and unmistakable without showing off or disturbing anyone. It works year-round, but I wouldn't really wear it by temperatures above 25*C. ***and these "Knot" bottles are splendid!

This triggers memories for me. I have an older cousin who wore a fragrance that smelled just like this for YEARS. Now I need to find out what it was. It's probably something that no longer exists. Anyway, Knot smells so approachable and sophisticated. I love how all the notes "tie" together and create this clean, almost fluffy, aura of fragrance. I think it can be worn all year 'round, but wouldn't cut through really cold weather. Don't consider myself to be a neroli lover by any means, but here it is done so well. I had a few samples and now I know this is full bottle worthy. Love it.

This is STUNNING!!! I can't believe this one doesn't get talked about more. This is a beautiful white floral with creamy ambrette, and summery citruses & neroli. Although vanilla isn't listed in the note breakdown, I get vanilla, which gives this a hint of a gourmand aspect as it develops. The opening does feel a bit formal and reminiscent of some fragrances from the 90's (not at all a bad thing)- but this develops into the most gorgeous, slightly gourmand white floral. It reminds me a bit of Nobile 1942 Perdizione. This is definitely going on my wishlist for Summer!

Next Neroli-ish perfume in my collection. I have noticed that Neroli is not easygoing smell. Not everyone likes it so that is why it is not a perfect present. However, if you are crazy about that type of smell it is definitely to buy. That one is very warm and less "sharp", it is like a warm blanket that covers body with softness and mildness. To me the best expression that describes the ambience of Knot is BATHING OIL. It was my first association that actually goes on. It is the very rather long-lasting aroma and linear.

My new Spring scent. This reminds me of Crete where my father is from. I remember the citrus smell in the air and the beautiful water shimmering in the light of the sun. I love it. It reminds me of all the weddings done in Crete in the Spring and Summer perhaps. We have seen a lot of weddings there believe me! This would be perfect for that. I don't really detect the peony and lavender all that much but musk and citrus together means awesome to me. It lasts a long time and it is not as strong after about an hour.

A sheer, Soviet-y cologne, crisp and expensive smelling, so more for the priviledged "Moskvitchs" back then. I agree on wearing this in combination with a white button shirt, a straight and starched one. Somehow it wears like a gem, you catch a glimpse of a delicate ear ring. And then again it just wraps you expansively, with a rustling sound of the dry-est white cotton sheets. So why the knot in the name and on the bottle? Maybe a reminder of a past that always seems to be more simple. And golden.

A fresh and airy blast of beautifully blended citrus and neroli to open followed by cool lavender with a light musk finish. Delicately balances clean meets sweet. Bottega Veneta Knot is fast becoming a favourite of mine. I also get aldehydes from the top but they aren’t listed. I get none of the claimed earthy undertones and never seem to reach the listed base notes. Just light and juicy loveliness with great longevity. Gloriously feminine, sophisticated and invigorating. A perfect Spring scent.

This is a deceptively simple very well balanced neroli and orange blossom scent with lots of dignity and substance. It's not delicate, frail or lush, but focused and sober. Even though it's very linear the neroli manages not to be too dry or brittle or metallic because of the supporting notes give it a fullness. I imagine wearing this in the fall or winter with a tailored expensive coat and walking briskly down a street with my head held up cutting through crowds on my way to an important event.

I found BV Knot to be really impressive when I first tried it, but I had already owned a similar fragrance so buying it seemed pointless at the time. I bought it now and I am very pleased! There are, indeed, subtle differences that make Knot more interesting and more attractive than other neroli perfumes. I am surrounded by an aura of flowers and lavender. A scent that is clean, disciplined, but luxurious at the same time. It is great for daytime and office wear. One of my best purchases by far!

I got a sample thinking that I wouldn't be very impressed (after all, people say it's like other neroli fragrances so why bother, right?) and I'm happy that I decided to try it anyway. I'm swept off my feet. This is by far the best neroli perfume that I've come across. I think the best resemblance is to L'Occitane fragrances, but with significantly greater quality. As some have already mentioned, this is not your typical innocent and romantic floral, but a serious one that demands respect.

Knot (strange name, this one!) is a very Italian neroli fragrance and a very natural neroli it is too. I also get a suede note although it's not listed. I'm going to keep this review short (for once) and say that it's very wearable, suitable for day and night wear and has a nice musky trail. It's safe, but sometimes less is more.. It's classy with really good longevity and although it projects at about arm's lenghth, it's not a "strong" perf. Very suitable for summer weddings actually.

the opening on this one was a slap at my face at the begining but give it timei (30') to open up, it is worth it. After 30' the lavander kicks in and even though it is not a note i like , give to the citrus notes a more clean tone as the musk tones the intensity down . After 40' you have a lovely mixture of clean lavander and mask with undertones of clementine. Clean , fresh and classy vintage feminine (without smelling like an old lady) i suggest it for winter and fall - daytime

This is a big love for me! It could very possibly become my "forever" fragrance. So sophisticated and elegant. There is not a tacky note in this beauty, only beautifully rounded, perfectly mixed scent of pure elegance! A perfume ideally suited for fall and spring, cool, crisp weather.. But it could be used all year round without being too weak in the winter or too cloying in summertime! Unforgettable beauty in an amazing bottle!

This is a very EXPENSIVE smelling fragrance. Wow... Just one whiff makes me think of holidays in the French or Italian Riviera on a yacht in the sun. That is maybe why I, however, don't enjoy wearing it during winter months as I feel that the scent gets very "cold" and "undeveloped". Or maybe there's just something about the scent of orange blossoms which my mind associates with warm weather.

I've been looking for a fall fragrance, and happened upon this at Nordstrom last night. I am a huge fan of orange blossom and neroli, but they tend to read more summer than fall. Luckily, in Knot the musk base note is the star of the show, with the floral scents providing accompaniment. The result is a clean and cozy scent to wear with tweed as the leaves change and the days get colder.

Bottega Veneta Knot was once my signature scent, and for good reason. Its bright neroli, soft lavender, and clean musk create a timeless aromatic fragrance that’s fresh yet sophisticated. Knot is well blended and beautifully balanced, has good longevity and projection too. It’s a classy fragrance that exudes quiet, understated confidence and positivity. A classic in my opinion.

This is beautiful! It wasn’t even on my radar because no one ever talks about it on here. An SA in Nordstrom encouraged me to try it. I was already wearing a perfume, so I just sprayed it on a test strip. I need to test it on my skin. Anyway, people seem confused about the name. Bottega Veneta’s famous evening clutch is called the “Knot”.

Neroli and orange blossom can be tricky. On my skin this starts a bit heavy with the orange blossom and neroli—a little heavy and a bit pungent. BUT after 30 minutes it soars—bursting citrus and peony with white rose. Lavender lingers, giving the flowers an herbal kick. Expensive Italian sunshine as others have said. Love it.

When I first got this fragrance I gave it very little love. Shame on me. I barely wore it, then it went to the back of my perfume drawer. Well, that's about to change! I love the citrus, and a faint hint of clean laundry. Yes, sunny Italian vacation vibes! I love it. This will be one of my spring/summer fragrances.

This would be a great fall or deep spring perfume. It's floral but it's not frilly and light at all. After a few hours it starts to smell leathery on my skin. I like it because it's chique but casual enough to take it with you during lunch or when you go shopping.

This one smells like spring. She reminds me of spring time of north of Iran because of neroli. If you can not withstand heavy smell of flower, this is not for you. This is one of few floral smells that I adore. She is nice with moderate silage and longevity.

This is a stunner. Floral, spice and everything nice. It does not even have to try it just "is". A lovely feminine, clean, gentle, soft, pretty, ageless, timeless and smooth. I think quite honestly it's signature worthy for me.

It smells like you pamper yourself with a bath, then you wipe your body gently with fluffy towel and indulge your skin with rich body cream to make it soft and silky. For me "A MUST HAVE"!

Very beautiful perfume! White floral with light sweetness. Slightly reminds me of Prada Iris Absolute, only more floral. The bottle is an art of itself. Its a keeper :)

I get compliments every time I wear this. It's so classy and classic. I love how it could be your wedding fragrance or your everyday Spring scent.

adorable... This perfume is really durable.

This reminds me strongly of two fragrances I already like - Wood Sage & Sea Salt, and Bergamust! When I sprayed it on, it especially reminded me of Bergamust, and I felt like it was nearly a sibling to it. Knot is quite unisex, or almost masculine in it's opening (who cares though, wear what you like). It's fresh, brisk, unapologetically bergamot-y (yes, it lists mandarin and lime, but the combo comes off as bergamot) and cold. In fact, this fragrance is cold throughout it's wear length, it's not inviting or warm. Although it becomes less snobbish within half an hour of settling, it does retain a slightly aloof nature (not overly pretentious though). I actually enjoy things like this in my arsenal, for certain moods, and I think it's a huge bonus. It's a little salty to me, and it feels like a pleasant sea breeze. Salt is truly becoming one of my favorite accords in fragrances 🥰🧂 As it rests and develops, it does become more feminine than the two aforementioned fragrances, and I decided at that point that I couldn't call this a dupe, or a sibling, but maybe simply a *cousin*. It does become more gentle and feminine, but the neroli is still quite strong...it's like a high quality linen garment merely *laced* with feminine details. It's still strong and tomboyish, but in a very grown manner, and it's composed. I like this quite a lot, I feel confident and present while wearing it. It's also quite clean. A good one for running errands or attending meetings. It's serious and classy, behaves well, but still hints at a little more 😉

BV Knot reminds me of church on Easter Sunday. It's the kind of perfume moms would wear with a new pastel dress and a pretty hat, clasping their kid's hand and giving them that side eye "don't you dare misbehave" look, before flashing a pretty smile at the pastor in greeting. It's refined, pretty, and restrained, and it smells clean and new, like a new dress in the spring time. My immediate impression was "this smells like soap," and I still think that about an hour later. But this isn't just any Ivory soap you can toss into your supermarket basket along with the week's groceries. This is soap at a luxury hotel in a room filled with white flowers. It doesn't smell like white flowers growing outside - there's no dirt here, or any hint of green. This is white flowers freshly cut and arranged and placed by your bedside, in a room where everything is white and nothing is out of place. The citrus is there, but it's light. This isn't a sticky sweet lime you just cut into, but more the hint of lime in the distilled water you drink. In short: Knot is clean and exceptionally well mannered. I quite like it, because I think it smells nostalgic. Like something my grandmother would have worn with a lady-like pink lipstick. This is NOT to say it's "old" - please don't assume that because my grandmother would have worn it that I think it's off limits or inappropriate for a younger audience. My grandmother was just the perfect audience for a scent like Knot: fastidious, polite, and classically beautiful.

I’ve ignored a give away sample of Knot for ages because the listed notes looked so boring and unoriginal. Yesterday I decided to just get on with it and use the darn thing. Yup, first impression - dull, generic, short lived and overpriced in stores. But wait....there’s more...and Bottega Vanetta didn’t have to lure me in with a free set of steak knives to go ahead and purchase it. Although I still think it isn’t worth what it sells for, but my inability to handle money and my fragrance addiction are another story. The initial spray needed topping up and that is when Knot seemed to develop some character. It stayed all night on my skin and I found myself liking it more and more. It reminded me of an acquaintance of mine who had always been polite and innofensive but not really fun or interesting enough to spend more time with. One day she just came out with a completely inappropriate yet hilarious comment and I realised that she had more depth than it appeared on the surface. Unfortunately she has never let go since. Maybe it was the wine. Anyway, Knot isn’t that much fun, but it is exceptionally pretty and office friendly. I do predict though that before too many years pass it will end up in discount bins for $20 next to other pretty but fairly forgettable fragrances.

Well! I don't know where to start! I think I've just fallen in love! This is soooo beautiful! I had a phone call this avo from hubby saying you know how I have been getting on your nerves lately I want to buy you a perfume! To make up! Maybe Hypnose! I answered well um ok if you think! But Spring is here And I'ld love to try Bottega Veneta Knot! Since I knew about it on this fragrantica sight and have previously owned Bottega Veneta and Legere, the latter of which I adored! I thought I would give it a try! A big risk! Since it was a fair outlay! And a blind buy! But I am so glad I did! This is so very transcending! I can so much relate to many of the reviews here! That relaxing Italian/Mediterranean vibe! Clean, fresh, sea, air, sun, warmth,flowers, linen,ocean,beauty wow! Sooo nice! It's an elegant ladylike beauty, natural and clean, I can imagine being on a yaught taking in the beautiful surrounds of calm waters and blue skies! Santamarinella coast! Almalfi coast! I am transported in my mind! This is as close as I've ever been to the most beautiful destinations! I think I may have found a new favourite! Thankyou to you lovely fragrantica people for your reviews! As it's because of these I took this risk! And am now happyI did!<3<3<3

Blind buy for me based on the notes and comments/reviews. I think the reviews that describe this fragrance as warm, soothing and mature capture the personality of this fragrance best. It is refined, subtle and somehow nostalgic. Like another reviewer, It reminds me more of an expensive bath oil than a perfume. Definitely would appeal to a neroli lover--a soapy but slightly "dirty" neroli scent is at its heart. There is no sweetness as you'd think with orange blossom and peony listed as notes. However, it's so well blended that I really only can pick out the neroli. Sillage is slight--this something you would only notice when you get close and personal. I would have preferred a stronger sharp note to give it more of a presence. I had expected that based on the fragrance pyramid but on me there is only the slightest edge of a citrus zing in an otherwise mellow soapy neroli fragrance. It is rather flat on clothing--definitely best on the skin. While I get the summer seaside associations given it is a warm sensual bath oil like fragrance, for me I imagine this best for quiet days at home on a wintery Sunday with a good book and chunky white sweater.

Well done, Bottega Veneta. Neroli is one of my favorite notes and I like to see houses do some good with it :) I get neroli and orange blossom for sure, but the interesting thing is, I almost feel like I'm smelling the inside of a very fine leather bag from which someone has just taken out a large, fragrant bouquet. The cloud of scent is creamy, floral, and well-blended, but it isn't very green. Leather isn't one of the listed notes, but I get something of a restrained dryness that would suggest some high quality hide. The top had a few taut, ripe citrus fruits drop in, but they roll to the back before long. All in all, I find this very similar to Yves Rocher's Secrets d'Essences Neroli, which I also love. Granted, the YR is less elegant and more simple. It's more citric, more honeyed, more cheerful. It's of less quality than Knot, but I can't say I like it any less. They're different takes on similar themes, and getting both would be justified by my book. Bottega Veneta: Elegant, refined, the classic it-girl at the office. Inoffensive but quite notable. YR: field day, a bed of flowers just for you.

Knot opens with a huge dose of lavender, some neroli and citrus fruits. It's fresh, but calming, and unisex to my nose. Not masculine, just not as feminine as most women's fragrances. After some time the lavender weakens, but orange blossom comes in to complement the neroli. There is also a strong and clear lime scent at this phase. The citrus notes are surprisingly persistent in Knot. The drydown is musk and neroli, a bit powdery, slightly floral and also woody for some reason. Just when I didn't expect it anymore, peony is suddenly detectable and gives the fragrance a light feminine twist. Clean and floral, but not as pink and girly as many other scents with peony. Overall, Knot is not a sweet fragrance, but not harsh either. I would call it aromatic and in the vein of classic citrusy colognes. An elegant and unique option if you're looking for something like that! Surely it would be good in the summertime. It's in the nature of its notes not to last till the next morning, but this is quite powerful for what it is.

When it comes to perfume, Bottega Veneta is a modern brand that's the foremost torch carrier of the great perfumes of yesterday if you ask me. If Bottega Veneta releases a celeb style fruitchouli I'll chop off my left hand. The brand's offerings are always refined, very put together, elegant and dramatic without being overdone. Knot is no exception. It does not smell like it stems from the 80's or 70's or early 90's, but it evokes the spirit of an era long gone. A lot of the time you see people lamenting the current state of perfumery - that's not me. I'm just saying that in today's mainstream fragrance climate, Bottega Veneta's vintage flair is refreshing. I find Knot hard to classify. It is an opulent, golden green floral with citrusy overtones and it smells like "my car gloves are cream-colored suede and if you spill a drop on them while handing me my coffee I'll have your head, maggot". Arrogant and almost ruthless but with such poise that it's attractive. I can't help but like it. The ultimate bad bitch scent.

I'm having a love affair with neroli and orange blossom fragrances right now, so when I saw a full-sized bottle of this on clearance, I couldn't resist. Knot is a gorgeous clean, floral, and somewhat soapy scent. It's classy, elegant, and understated—the perfect type of fragrance to apply after a shower or before bed. I wasn't sure if the lavender in this would be to my liking, but it works here. The bottle is GORGEOUS. I remember smelling this years ago and thinking that Knot was pretty but nothing extraordinary. My feeling is the same in that regard, especially because the performance for the price is truly disappointing. I don't want to wear beast mode fragrances, but I do expect expensive fragrances to last more than a couple of hours. So many others in this category outshine Knot in performance, and therefore, I doubt I will reach for this over others in my collection. I'll be passing this on to my mother-in-law who prefers her fragrances on the gentle side and I'm sure she will love it.

An intelligent clean scent. It starts with a sharp fresh lemon, that is gone after about 30 minutes and gives way to a clean smell, which reminds me of a luxurious soap bar, but somehow more sophisticated, maybe it's the tonka bean that gives it more depth than you'd find in an actual soap. I find it quite pleasant and safe. The woman wearing it can wear anything from jeans and T-shirt to a classy expensive outfit, but she is someone who is not trying too hard to impress. This is not the kind of perfume that sweeps you off your feet; but it is very nice for what it is. I can't imagine anyone thinking you stink when you wear this one. Longevity is quite good. I must say I don't understand the name. "knot" makes me think of "love or chains, and things we can't untie", but this fragrance is clean and clear. I really don't get it. The bottle is quite pretty, though a bit... yellow. Clear glass with a silver cap would fit this fragrance better.

Guys! I just realized that Avon's Kyoto Flower is amazingly similar to Knot, especially during the dry down - in the opening the neroli is much more predominant but as soon as it burns off the two are, not indistinguishable but really, really close. I've been using KF perfume and body wash all summer and just sprayed some Knot on myself and holy cow, they're almost exactly the same! Knot is (unsurprisingly) more expensive smelling because I'm sure they're using far better ingredients but Avon still managed to make an excellent dupe. Edit: I finally got my full bottle and... it does *not* smell like KF wtf! It doesn't smell like my sample either, obviously. I'm guessing it's because it was reformulated? The juice in my bottle is sweeter and creamier, very gardenia-like. Still beautiful though - I'm not disappointed that I have my small bottle.

I fell in love with Knot yesterday (already swapped one :) ) and I have to tell you guys I am really not easy to please when it's about perfume! I began to read the reviews and got so confused how many of you disliked this... Then I scrolled further and my favorite places appeared while talking about the scent: California, Hawaii' Southern Italy.., so THIS is why I fell in love instantly! Oh and the laundry detergent vibe just adds to my pleasure :) IMO the name KNOT is a playful way to say unforgettable, in Europe we have a saying if you want the remember something tie a knot on your scarf. This might not be the explonation although it makes perfect sence to me.
