Parco Palladiano XII: Quercia

A wonderful oak and cedar combination wrapped in subtle pink pepper and very light olibanum incense. Basil shows up somewhere in the opening but plays more of a supporting role, enhancing the woods and the resins. The edges are sanded down with benzoin and moss. While labdanum works as a weave creating the feeling of dryness. This is a very classy oak and cedar-centered fragrance with preserved naturalness and authentic craftsmanship. Various fragrances come to mind but are not exactly similar, but have comparable traits. Fans of Spice and Wood, French Lover, Sicilian Wood, CdG's Laurel, etc. will more than likely appreciate this one. The scent is rather fleeting, but nonetheless well constructed like the rest of the Parco Palladiano line. My favorite from Quentin Bisch.

Quercia is a majestic perfume and evokes the essence of a living oak tree very well. It is natural, nuanced, contemplative. This fragrance is not a flashy show-off screamer, rather it creates the most elegant scent bubble and that is both comforting and attractive. It is beautifully woody, a touch spicy and a bit sweet. Could be unisex, but certainly leans on the masculine side. I envision a noble man arriving at his Italian palazzo mansion in his pristine condition vintage car and smelling like this. Smells like intelligence, class, quiet confidence. This is perfect. Sillage: moderate Longevity: 10-12hrs on skin, can distinctly smell it the next day on clothes

#1820 in my “Tour de Fragrance” Got this decant from fragrancesline.com. Best price I can find for 100ml is $189. Pricey. But DAMN this is a fine scent! Super smooth, high quality, peppery, strong olibanum note, oak and oakmoss, a scent that evokes druid rituals in an ancient forest. Which is how I like it. Sure opens up the sinuses! I can’t think of anything at a lower price than can stand in for it. So of course Bottega Venetta has discontinued it. And I bit the bullet and ordered it, even though I hate ordering from an eBay vendor. Good Luck and Good Hunting!

Creeds Spice and Wood, but less spice and a little more wood. It's lighter, more airy. Great fragrance if you need something a little subtle. This does not have a strong projection.

Opened with a flash of sweetness before pepper and oak came in with its dryness. After a bit resinous scent entered to reduce the dryness with its sweet scent. Oakmoss and patchouli closed the scent up nicely. Overall its a good woody scent that isn’t too dry. Very easy to wear. Just might be too plain for some.
