Boucheron pour Homme Eau de Parfum Batch 06J14J044, 13 February 2018 production Citruses are among the most volatile, and therefore quickly-evaporating notes. While most citrus-centered fragrances are, by nature, very fleeting, Boucheron pour Homme is not. I began a quest for a citrus fragrance that lasts, one without the need to respray throughout the day. Through sampling and trial-and-error blind-buying, I have found my Holy Grail of citrus fragrances, Boucheron pour Homme, in the eau de parfum concentration. Instead of defending it from other commenters’ erroneous subjugation of this fragrance to a certain era or age group, I’ll extol its numerous facets and values. First, about that longevity. This is a fragrance that, for me, lasts from 12 to 16 hours from application to its final curtain call, depending on weather. This lasts on clothes eternally, often after a wash, so I prefer to apply carefully directly to skin, allowing this beauty to dry down naturally. Projection is moderate compared with any fragrance, which equates to excellent with a citrusy scent. I get about six feet for the first hour, three feet for the next two hours, but then it fades gradually without dropping off abruptly. Masterfully blended, this opens with one of the most uplifting bouquets of citrus notes, bright and refreshing. Right away, however, one becomes aware of the complexity of this fragrance, with lavender and florals supporting the citrus, in a classy, creamy, masculine (albeit non-uber) way. Boucheron pour Homme EdP evolves beautifully as it dries down. Although it is listed as a base note, incense opens up early in the midpoint of the fragrance, giving an air of sophistication. What is so remarkable about BpH is that citruses, while more prominent and complex in the opening, remain throughout the entire drydown of the fragrance, which speaks highly of the blending mastery of the perfumers. To be sure, by the time it reaches the very end of its life, it is just detectable as a light but present citrus note, but it remains there nonetheless. One might say that by the drydown, the fragrance becomes a bit powdery; what I believe the “powderiness” to be is the interaction between the florals. Again, this is juxtaposed with the incense along with sandalwood and vetiver, and the vetiver here is of the classiest, most approachable kind. What is mind-boggling about this masterpiece is its sheer value. I obtained this 100ml EdP in full presentation for less than $35 USD from an online fragrance discounter in the US. The full retail is, at the time of this review, $98 USD according to Boucheron’s website. I would have no qualms whatsoever paying full price for this fragrance, without question. It is that good. The frosted and clear bottle is perfect for this kind of juice. The cap is on the cheapish side, but it still looks the part, and I’m glad Boucheron puts its money into maintaining the integrity of the blend and its ingredients rather than packaging and marketing. I wear fragrance as a means of expression, not to “pull compliments” or to fulfill any other social function. That said, I have received several compliments while wearing Boucheron pour Homme, and all were from younger individuals. Perhaps the sheer class and masterfully composed sillage of this wonderful fragrance caught them off-guard. I can’t tell someone else when, where, or how to wear a particular fragrance; that is completely a matter of personal taste, and to each his/her own. That being said, I personally would wear this in any setting in any weather. It works wonders in warm weather, and it stands up superbly to colder weather, I think thanks to the incense and complexity of the fragrance. If I had known about this fragrance when I got married, I would most certainly have worn this. This is hands down one of the best blind buys I have ever made, and I will be buying backup bottles. Boucheron pour Home Eau de Parfum is a stunningly masterful fragrance that can be obtained for a stunningly low price. Superb!

My Story My story goes back to a time roughly a decade after this gem was released—back in the 2000s, a transitional era bridging the boom of the 80s and mid-90s and the current age, which is teeming with YouTube vultures and second-rate "influencers." I had a girlfriend who was absolutely obsessed with perfumes—especially Chanel’s *Chance* and the DKNY line (the "little apple" bottles), which were all the rage back then. Whenever we went to El Corte Inglés (Spain’s most upscale department store) and walked through the fragrance section, Boucheron held a place of honor right between Christian Dior and Chanel; it stood there like the Mayan idol Indiana Jones discovered in *Raiders of the Lost Ark*... It was a fragrance that evoked an aura of sophistication, elegance, and "old money" style—the kind worn by a 40-year-old man heading to a casino in Monaco. It didn't need flashy TV or print ads; its quality spoke for itself, and word-of-mouth cemented its reputation as a truly exquisite luxury product. It carried a high price tag—on par with Dior or Chanel—and appealed to a specific clientele, standing a cut above the era's heavy hitters like *Fahrenheit* or *Allure*. It was a masterpiece of refinement. I never bought it, nor was I interested in it at the time; my tastes lay elsewhere. I leaned more toward *Cool Water*, *Eternity*, or the aforementioned *Fahrenheit*. Of course, we can't forget that from the mid-90s onwards, unisex scents like *One*, *Paco*, and *Tommy* were dominating the market, while sweet fragrances were starting to gain traction—think Paco Rabanne’s *Black*, Carolina Herrera’s *212 Sexy*, or the iconic *Le Male* by Jean Paul Gaultier. Now, almost two decades later, I stumbled upon this gem in the recommendations on Amazon Japan—where I currently live—and saw it at a price that made my head spin: under 30 euros at the exchange rate. I simply bought it, and the moment I smelled it, it brought back that majestic quality I remembered and reminded me just how admirable this perfume is. It is literally a gem for summer—superior to Acqua di Gio; it is more imposing, more vigorous, and above all, has an "old-school" style that will surprise you. My thoughts Boucheron EDT is synonymous with the classic "old money" aesthetic of the 80s and 90s—full of strength, projection, personality, and elegance. It is a spring/summer fragrance featuring a Mediterranean note that is very hard to find in French perfumes. It reminds me a great deal of Armani Pour Homme, with that prominent citrus note; in fact, its "offspring"—Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme (1994)—was born from this kind of blend. For the new generation Do you have classic taste? Do you like dressing elegantly in summer—linen clothes, espadrilles? Do you like fragrances with a strong presence? Buy it. It’s available at an affordable price, and you’ll hold a gem in your hands—one that, despite reformulations, hasn't lost its projection. Buy it and thank me later! (Review of the EdT bottled c. 1994) A lot was going on in the world of perfumery on or about 1991. A huge shift was beginning as synthetics really started taking off and firms wanted to see their bottom lines shift as well, and men’s scents began going down the “freshie” and “aquatic” genres - chypres and fougeres were given the equivalent reaction of today’s “ok, boomer”. So, what did Boucheron do? They released a grand, statement making, old school (for that time even), citrus and floral chypre. You have to laugh. Whether being behind the times is due to cluelessness or principled obstinance, or anything in between, you have to chuckle when a firm clearly and willfully goes against the grain. Thankfully for us, Boucheron did. In Boucheron Pour Homme you have one of the best lemon openings of any masculine perfume, period. The reason why it is so good is because it’s... well... not just lemon. Front and center of your nose is a big, ripe, juicy lemon but staged slightly behind it is a sliced open mandarin orange and a bergamot. Sprinkled over the top are freshly picked herbal and floral lavender, and a slightly anisic and sweet basil. It smells divine, like an incredibly high-end lemonade. The fruits and herbs are given a huge dusting of powdery aldehydes. The aldehydes are big, round, feather textured and bold, and remind me a lot of the aldehydes in some early Amouage perfumes. Boucheron PH is not going to be a wallflower; it is confident and it wants to make sure you and it get noticed. The transition to the heart is seamless and near perfect. I could very nearly feel the perfume “sliding”, the transitions happening slowly, gently, a well choreographed metamorphosis before my very nose, as the hesperidics and herbs evolve into a gorgeous carnation, rose, and orris heart. The juicy sourness of the opening strings its way into the heart for a remarkably long time before ceding to the florals entirely for a classic soapy, clean, musky, and gently peppery white floral presentation. Then yet again, another slow slide transition to a floral chypre base where the rose becomes the prominent floral nestled in a bed of damp, woody oakmoss, animalic musks, and a creamy peppery sandalwood. There will of course be those who smell this and think of their dad or their grandfather. Ick. Why do I want to smell so old. Yes, it is quite retro - even for 1991 - but you wear this today for one or both of the following two reasons: firstly, because you like old school citrus floral chypres that make you smell very refined and classy, or secondly, because you understand that it’s genius stuff. The materials and the blending poured into it by Raymond Chaillan are barely short of precise artisan perfection. Every moment with Boucheron Pour Homme is a joy.

TL;DR: a fizzy, dry citrus (primarily), which is not like 'traditional' citruses for men, like Eau Sauvage or Chanel pour Monsieur. It lasts well, and brings in moss, masculine florals, and a powdery/soapiness over time. Very elegant. ===================== I got a vintage bottle of the EDT cheap on ebay, in its original box. Normally I think that people who bang on about vintage on here are a royal pain in the a&^%, so feel free to judge me harshly. But in this case, I bought it because it was cheaper than new, and had a much prettier bottle than the new. I've never smelled the current version - mine could be worse! It's lovely - a dynamic perfume, that keeps a lot of plates spinning on top of a lot of poles. Obviously, we need to 'deal with' the citrus. It's there but it doesn't lead the scent through the dry down in the way that Eau Sauvage or YSL Pour Homme do/did. It's there as a 'thread'. But although strong, it doesn't dominate - we don't have here a straightforward citrus scent. Lots of people have commented on this having a 'fizzy lemon sherbert candy' dimension, and they're right. This airy, sparkly citrus is always there, but it's a team player. If you know the lemon in Versace l'Homme, it's like that but more 'human' because there's none of the animalic, pissy dimension of that scent. As it dries down, several aspects become more prominent, holding the citrus absolutely in check. There's an oak-mossy strand, holding it all together and pulling the next element into the masculine zone. That next element is something floral. People detect 'rose' and 'jasmine' and 'ylang-ylang' but you can't (I can't) smell them individually. Together, they make a lovely masculine floral. Finally, there's a soapy, creamy, powdery quality. _Edit: in the deep dry down - ie couple of hrs - the rose comes forward ... stunning_ It's not 'like' most of the scents in the 'reminds me of...' section; it's just that some of them have lemon in common. All four of these elements (citrus, oakmoss, floral, soapy/powdery) sit side by side, playing nicely like four middle-class kids in the park, allowing mum (or dad, in this case) to relax, sit back, feel the sun on my face, and scroll 'Angry People in Local Newspapers' photos.

I just received this one. the EDT version. I believe EDT's are fresher and more nuanced than EDP's so I got that one. First sniff? a wonderful fragrance! this scent is nice. Right off it's a very green fresh scent. Verbena I believe it is. Quickly it transitions into a beautiful soft lightly powdery pink rose or floral like my pink rose scented dove bar of soap in the bathroom. There is a light touch of soapiness in the scent too in a similar way. a softly spicy woodyness is in the base underneath which must be the sandalwood. I don;t particularly get a lot of lemon or citrus in this, but there is some of it. As I have been wearing it more though, I do notice the yellow citrus in this scent. It's right there, upfront, but it's done right (not too much, suttle, just enough), blending along with the green verbena, I do also detect a sweetness which I think is bergamot, somewhat citrusy in there mixing in with the florals. Not sure yet how this will blossom in hot summer weather, or how the base notes would shine in the frigid winter seasons. A very nice scent which upon my first couple wearings today rates in the top echelons of my other favorite fragrances, which are Azzaro pour homme, Paco Rabanne pour homme, Vetiver Guerlain, Kouros, Pour un Homme de Caron, and others. Boucheron pour Homme is different that all those, those being mostly lavender fougeres, musk and vetiver, and lavender vanilla. Boucheron has a green-ness with verbena, some light lemon or citrus, but not too much, some touches of powderyness, some nice floral aspect, and a nice sandalwoody base. This fragrance is done with finesse. A very nice scent for a good price.

The first 30 minutes after applying this fragrance provide an extraordinary and beautiful experience. Cream and lemon, lavender and orange. If I could freeze it there I could stay in those top notes all day. But as it dries down it becomes less pleasant to me. There's something in the base that smells vaguely like petroleum or a petrol by product of some sort. Like an old Zippo cigarette lighter fluid refill can. It's disappointing because I am completely smitten by the opening. I find that if I go easy and avoid the urge to overspray the drydown is more tolerable. The opening just smells so darn good that you want to keep spraying. That's fine for the opening but I think that's where the unpleasant drydown originates. So 4 sprays are enough. Seems even after half a century of using fragrances I still haven't learned this... When I was a schoolboy the nuns still wore a full black habit that covered everything but their faces. They used to lightly perfume their habits with Jean Nate- probably the spritz, not the perfume. A really wonderful childhood sense memory for me. Applied lightly, Boucheron comes closer to that delightful fresh scent than any other masculine fragrance I've tried. Boucheron Pour Homme and Jean Nate share a surprising number of notes. They're by no means identical, but are functionally the same in the sense that both leave a green, floral, and lemon aura of having been lightly perfumed. I should mention that I prefer the EdT in general. It has a softness that suits that sweet and glorious opening.

What a revelation! Citrus, soapy and aromatically fresh. A classic scent that stands up well today, in fact it stands out amongst an ocean of modern, samey fragrances. If you are a well dressed man (mostly) or woman, this is a scent to consider primarily for the warm weather but easily a solid pick-me-up for cooler seasons too. Had this a while but decided to wear today for the first time. An initial hit of citrus is pleasant enough but within a minute or two joined by the soapy freshness coming forward and sending waves of retro-chic perfumery to you and anyone nearby. The heart and bottom notes are an old time perfumers wet dream, all working in unison to provide a beautiful solidity that shows it's nuances throughout the wear. The overall effect is a lovely sillage that is hard to fault and difficult to ignore. Edit: the dry down is gorgeous. It still keeps facets of the opening but it's resinous, smoky and leathery although there is no leather note listed! It's very much a take on a Chypre with its own distinct identity at this stage. Lovely. Its a myriad of ingredients all beautifully blended to create something complex that will be many things to different people's noses, all captivating. Not only is it astounding for the price, it's an excellent fragrance full stop. An incredibly well made, elegant and high quality scent that is worthy of your attention. Especially if you value classic style over fads and fast, forgettable fashion. Definitely not for the younger guys and gals.

EDT review: This is an interesting one, and the reviews are accurate. Powdery, lemon verbena, etc.. To me, it really has nothing in common with the Eau Sauvage 1966, although I do see where folks get that they are in a similar type. Eau Sauvage, to me, is a lot more well blended, less, well, screechy, in it's perfumery, and in a lot of ways kinda blows it out of the water. Someone mentioned that what Eau Sauvage is to the 1960's, Boucheron Pour Homme is to the 1980's. Considering what the 1980's perfumery was like, I have to agree. So, with all that, I still kinda love Boucheron Pour Homme EDT. It reminds me of my cool uncles back in the day, shirts open half way down the chest, relaxing on lawn chairs in the summer, wearing rolex watches, pouring back mixed drink with lots of ice discussing whatever the hell topics of the day they discussed in the late 70's early eighties. I'm not sure woman like the smell of this, one girl remarked I smelled like her aunts towels in her bathroom. It didnt sound like a compliment. But you know what, I didnt care. I've decided I love the smell of this stuff, maybe it's the memories, but it makes me feel great when I wear it. It's not a signature scent, but I do find myself reaching for it a lot. Maybe if I have a meeting and I know I need to make a good impression, I reach for Sauvage 1966, but when I want to bask in the glory of old school floral masculinity, this is the juice I'm reaching for.

Definitely a favorite in my collection. I have both the EDP and the EDT. The Eau de Toilette (EDT), great for the spring/summer, less smokier than the EDP, the EDT projects much better. The EDP is definitely sweeter, smokier, heavier. Better for winter. Both the EDT and the EDP are in the same price range. Notes on the EDT and the EDP are about the same. However, as I have mentioned, the EDP is much smokier and a bit too sweet for my taste. I reach more for the EDT winter or summer. I have to be in a certain mood for the EDP. I can wear the EDT just about anytime and anywhere. EDP is extremely formal, EDT is a little more casual and versatile without being too relaxed. I always try to wear something Blue with this fragrance. The EDP is excellent and formal enough for Black tie or White tie events, good for a winter evening. The EDT is more of a three piece medium blue suit with a crisp white shirt in a formal oak paneled office, good for spring or a cool summer day. If you need something super formal and it's over 100 Fahrenheit in the summer, avoid both the EDT and the EDP and opt for either Christian Dior's Eau Sauvage (1966), or even better Guerlain's Eau de Cologne Imperiale, these are much more wearable in extremely hot weather.

If you can allow yourself to consider a completely different take on freshness, compared to modern fragrances, then this is a lovely creation. I came of age in the 90's and I do recognise this scent profile as something our parents would have worn, probably along with Farenheit, whilst my friends and I wanted to smell of Tommy or Hugo, or Light Blue. Revisiting this as a middle-aged adult has been a joy. The identity of this fragrance revolves around powdery lemon verbena mixed with a soapy/powdery white floral accord (I assume lily of the valley) that has a luminous quality. If you smell it in passing, in the air, it just gives classy "citrus aromatic", a la Eau Sauvage. Up-close however, it moves subtly through several transitions (herbaceous, floral, mossy), before landing on a surprising spicy sandalwood base. This comes from a different planet to your current summer/fresh fragrances. UPDATE: I have worn this multiple times every week, all throughout spring and into summer - it's just so agreeable and pleasing. UPDATE 2: This sits in a strange, very specific category; "fresh/powdery", so I have found fewer occasions to wear it this year.

Stunning. Warm, complex and beautifully created and presented. The complexity that surprised me is the mix between traditional masculine notes like oakmoss, vetiver, sandalwood and lavender to be so well tied in with the quite feminine notes of orange, jasmine and the other flowers. This gives a continued freshness with never ending complexity and warmth. This is something I love about Issey Miyake Intense – and adore about this one. I agree this is a mature fragrance, but I don’t agree you must be 50+ as many have said on here. I believe it is too floral to be classified as for the older only. I am 23 and I have the confidence to wear this when I wear a suit and dress up. It only takes a mature attitude and a touch of class to pull this off. Body Kouros is mature, so is Ricci Club. But Boucheron is all about class and doesn’t remind me of any uncle or older man. To me, I find the incense, the orange, sandalwood, florals and base notes beautifully dominate this fragrance. I found the lemon and bergamot top notes disappear quite early (which was good as I found their domination quite generic). Absolutely wonderful.

Someone once said to me that they thought that the worst thing you could say about a person was that they were 'nice'. I've thought a lot about that. Some people think that it means you're boring, ineffectual, bland. I smiled and nodded my head, as I was in an interview and wanted the job. I think nice is an incredible compliment, actually. I've discovered this scent only recently, and I think its one of the nicest I've ever experience. It is not groundbreaking or cult in any way. It is fresh, classy, elegant, well-blended and comfortable. I'd compare it to a perfectly tailored navy suit, or a custom made white shirt. Always right. I now have both the EDT and the EDP - the EDT is just as everyone describes. This is not Tom Ford or Serge Lutens. And that's perfectly fine. the EDP is simply gorgeous on me - but a mainstream beauty, not edgy. If you like the vintage Armani, or Chanel pour Monsieur, or Tiffany for Men (which I miss dearly), this is for you. This could be black tie, or denim and a cashmere sweater. I adore these types of fresh, classic scents so this fits perfectly into my collection.

This scent to me is both timeless and exquisite, capturing the most desirable facets of an aromatic perfume with careful measure and an evolution that is both interesting and enjoyable the whole way. It starts off with a burst of piquant citrus notes, bergamot and verbena standing out to me. Deeper consideration reveals a bouquet of flavors, leaving you second guessing the vast array, but never overbearing and always feeling light. This includes musk, basil, and fresh flowers. As the bright citrus tones mellow out over an hour or so, wood notes entrench themselves, yet maintaining lightness. The lavender persists, and the drydown maintains a fresh clean, "soapy" character with the musk and amber base tucked neatly as a foundation. The beauty of this scent is in how it manages to exhibit complexity while staying light and well balanced. By leaning on the fresh and clean vibe, I think this would work just fine on any person of any age, although being dry, connotes a men's fragrance.

Edmond Roudnitska's exploration into big lemony chypres at mid-century spearheaded a number of beautiful entries into the genre from many perfumers at multiple designer houses: this was one of the last of them, which means it's one of the few still around. It's also fortunately one of the cheapest available now, and it would be hard to imagine getting superior bang for your buck. This isn't as beautifully blended as some of the other most famous lemon chypres, like Roudnitska's Eau Fraiche or Eau Sauvage for Dior (or Henri Robert's Chanel pour Monsieur); but the elements in it are lovely, beginning with the big burst of lemon, bergamot, and lemon verbena. The drydown, with florals and vetiver and what smells like lots of oakmoss (somehow!), is terrific. The edges of the notes do not seem as carefully blended as in more expensive perfumes; but at the prices this goes for, how can you go wrong? If you like the genre of lemony chypres (one of my favorites), you should get this.

EDP. Tricky one. It's potent yet refined, accomplished, but potentially falls between a couple of stools for me as regards when I might wear it. It has a fantastic citrusy side that reminds me of untold sporty/gym-friendly, summery freshies (especially from three or even four decades ago) but it's also powdery (and strong) and the base is rich, so this would not be anywhere near my first choice in the summer. It would get very cloying very fast. In the colder months, though, I don't particularly want to smell like a citrus grove or sherbet lemon. To me the citrusy side seems better suited to the spring, but that's a season when I'm likely to wear something greener smelling--1881 original, possibly, if I am in the mood for some old-skool quality. And in the autumn I'm likely to wear something warmer, perhaps spicier... Plus this does feel like a semi-formal fragrance--so when am I going to want that relative sophistication while smelling like a sherbet lemon?

Let me tell you first, that the lemon is one of my least favourite notes. I have a new EDP version and an old EDT of this one. The opening is VERY lemony and zesty, and also soapy. A classic cologne style. After the initial blast of freshness the white flowers start also to appear (to my nose the lilly is very prominent). After half an hour or so the lemon - still detectable - mixed with the middle notes becomes a little bit creamier. The heart of this scent is a pure flower bomb. Guys, hang in there. The dry down... Oh, the dry down is where the magic happens. For me the musky base notes of Boucheron pour Homme compose one of the best sensual drydowns in the old-school perfumery. The performance couldn't compare with JAIPUR, but it doesn't disappoint either. I constantly keep the bottle close to me in my office desk. Boucheron always manage to cheer me up and made my day less stressful (and you go home with the drydown on your shirt to your loved ones ;)).

First impressions of Boucheron Pour Homme EdP - very fresh citrusy opening, almost juicy, tiny bit sweet, powdery, reminiscent of Cerruti 1881 (move aside old friend) as others suggested. I detect little to no florals as listed in the heart notes (I'm told these are more prominent in the EdT), but the wonderful genuine oakmoss and musk dry down is where it shines, which has so far lasted a good 4 hours with moderate projection. The citrus opening was gone after half an hour on my skin, but persisted for 2-3 on clothing. Pleasantly surprised to see oakmoss actually listed in the ingredients, was not expecting this in a designer fragrance for £26 (full price more like £80), it's not like an old school oakmoss bomb but you can definitely smell it and it's wonderful. Overall not a super exciting fragrance (or review), but a very well balanced and classy example of my favourite genre, I expect it will become one of my dailies during the Spring and Summer.

Hey people! Have this for a few days now... It is quite hot here in Bucharest and I have been wearing this. Instead of telling you about the notes and how this fragrance feels, I just want to say that if you find Zino by Davidoff a little too much for a hot summer day, Boucheron pour Homme EDT is the way to go. It is like you had "Zino Eau Fraiche". It has a that same burnt coffee feeling with lavander as Zino, but is fresher. As for performance, on me it projects quite well for 1-2h, then it sits closer and closer to the skin.. I get over 12h with this one, but fragrances tend to last a long time on my skin, so take that with a grain of salt. IMO, this is a semi-formal or formal scent, but you can pull this off casually as well if you like it that much and if you are into this type of scents. I personally would wear this at least with a polo shirt on. Hope this helps! Cheers!

To everyone reading these humble lines - Thank you... Boucheron Pour Homme EDT is absolutely stunning fragrance. Please note that this is simply my opinion, I am just a fragrance lover, so as the majority of the reviewers on this site. So words like "DATED", "TOO FORMAL", "ONLY FOR SUMMER", NOT SUITABLE FOR AGES UNDER SO and SO, are an absolute verbal diarrhea and flat out dishonest. This fragrance is superior to so many big brand names of the same genre, as it puts them to shame by price, packaging and performance. Price value and quality is 12/10. The opening is beautiful, the mid is superb and the dry down is glorious. Fragrance for men of any age, use as a casual or business, dressed up or just on the beach - who cares. Try it and if you like it and appreciate it just enjoy. Last but not least. This fragrance is a winner and will make you feel like one......

I bought a bottle for my husband, who loves it, too. It reminds me a bit of vintage Dior Eau Sauvage, which I wore in my late teens without knowing I was wearing what was considered a masculine fragrance. Whatever: to me that citrus/hedione juggernaut was and remains sheer magic. Boucheron might be a touch woodier, but it's predominantly zingy citrus (lemon, orange, lemon verbena) and fresh green spices and herbs (basil, lavender, possibly cardamom or something like it). There is also a very appealing soapy aspect: more of a fine-milled French luxury soap of yore than some dreary "fresh" aquatic deodorant soap. I tend to have great luck with all the fragrances I have tried so far from the house of Boucheron, and this one is no exception. I'm glad I bought the EDT instead of the EDP because the EDT is plenty powerful, especially in the heat.

INSTANT LOVE.....I have the EDP version of this scent. For me, it is LOVE AT FIRST SMELL. This is so fresh, so clean, so long lasting, so so so so good. It does have a just got out of the barbershop beginning sensation for me, but it is a GREAT THING. The lemon at the beginning is absolutely unbelievable. I cannot say enough good about this fragrance. It is totally masculine and it is NOT overpowering in any way. It is superbly done and I would suggest, for the price of this, GET IT. I think it can be worn by all ages too. It is so awesome to have this fragrance stand up and stand out, timelessly, in the age where all fragrances basically smell the same, overpowering, boyishly strong....this is one is a keeper. It literally can be worn ALL season, anywhere. IT IS NOT GOING TO OFFEND ANYONE. Go for it, you will not be disappointed!

Boucheron for men EDP: This is a callback to 1991 for sure, but in the modern, grey era of all colognes smelling like sauvage derivative's, we could use a corded telephone call back to 91’ with a cup of coffee and a cigarette. It would encourage us to remember what we came from. They always say citrus when it comes to this one, when someone says citrus I think of terre de hermes, obsession, etc. Boucheron does have those notes but it’s so much softer, so much more pleasant..and certainly the old school elegance. A man of class would wear this, and a man of class I am. I reserve this one for extremely cold days..and evenings of course. In a world of black and grey...step out. Bring out the royal blue and gold...put on a suit, slick your hair back and Show her you aren’t afraid to be different.

Received a sample from FragranceX, and I love this. Since it has lavender, tonka, and oak moss, I suppose it's officially a fougere, but if so, it's a citrusy and shampoo-ish one. It's also a little powdery, but clean and youthful, not grandmotherly. Compared to a number of masculine scents I've tried, this felt lighter and more unisex. The image I had was one of a young, handsome man in a tuxedo at an awards ceremony. Someone sophisticated but kind and not jaded. I think it's perfect for spring and probably better for evening than daytime as it seems a bit romantic for the office. On the other hand, the sillage is light so it wouldn't be inappropriate for work. I found this truly well-blended. If you like clean/shampoo-ish fragrances, I would absolutely recommend it.

(EDT Version) This really blew me away. Unbelievably good, mouth watering fresh citrus over a vanilla that never smells too gourmand, backed up by gorgeous powdery florals (though not as rosey as some reviews suggest but it is detectable). I can definitely feel a bit of bitter oakmoss funk at some points, which gives it that slightly dated vintage feel - but you definitely do not have to be 50 to enjoy this, I would gladly wear this at 19. If I was not deliberately trying to keep my collection small I would purchase this in a heartbeat, few niche offerings have this level of refinement and class. Stunning performance, smelled whiffs of it all day from my hand. Wearable in any weather that isnt 30+ degree summer heat, from casual wear to as dressed-up as you want.

Smells like my father's favorite perfume in the 80s and 90s. But this is one from many classic scents that I highly appreciate, because of its well blended citrusy opening and its EDP performance that realistically meet the EDP tag. If you're a serious collector grow some balls and consider this as one of your collection. How can you complain if this smells like your grandpa or your father's perfume when this scent is the reason why your grandpa and your grandma met, as much as how your father met your mother. Maybe some idiot sons dont understand the real meaning of being a "classic" scent or they just dont realize the magic of scents like this at all. Oh my, this is a citrus delight! I get thrown back to the 80s with Dynasty and Falcon Crest and what not. Delightfully retro. Originally I would have thought of this as a very masculine scent, but it's actually very unisexual. More women should wear something like this. It is like a sweeter, woodsier L'Eau d'Issey, or a less assaulting Egoïste by Chanel. Boucheron Pour Homme gives me a soapy, clean feeling. I would suppose it's better for the warmer parts of the seasons. And well suited for wearing during the day, but who cares, teddy bears, it's glamorous enough for a night on the town. Inoffensive and welcoming. And a little hint of the original refresher - 4711. Bottle is classy, but unmistakably postmodern, and the price point is a bargain.

Epic Journey Into the Bottled Yonder, 129 ------------------------------------------------------- Purchased August 2019 My dad had something like this in the old days and it was bloody awesome, maybe Cerruti or Eau Sauvage but I didn't find that to be like this because I've always loved this specific bottle. I started with the EDP in OEM sample spray and it was great. But didn't want to soon spend too much on my first Boucheron, so the full size EDT did the job. Basically the same thing. 2024 Update: I eventually wanted to have both EDT and EDP but it's proven unnecessary because the EDT is already strong. Definitely a citrus for the casino or something. Quite luxurious and relaxing, gentlemanly which is something that's disappeared.

This is a Citrus masterpiece and if it had a designer name like Guerlain, YSL, Givenchy, Dior, Creed, Bond No. 9, Tom Ford, etc you would be paying $30 an oz. and up (More per oz for the latter)! Thankfully it isn't and the EDP can be had for less that $30 shipped. You can read others reviews on scent notes and what it reminds them of, etc. All I can say is, if you like citrus, this should be in your lineup! It has projection, longevity and smells AWESOME! I can't speak to the EDT of this as I've only had the EDP of Boucheron Pour Homme. For those of you new to fragrances, take my word and buy a bottle! The current version is great, no need to find an older version. I only wish I had the older version to try! Happy Smells to you!

This is pretty good. Yes, similar to Cerruti 1881, and also maybe Le 3e Homme de Caron and Armani Eau Pour Homme. All of which are roughly of the same era. Maybe the Caron and Cerruti are just a bit more dark and creamy and less citrus, as well as with a bit more animalic funk. I'm adding Giorgio Beverly Hills for Men to the comparison as well. Boucheron Pour Homme is not to the level of the brilliant mid-century Citrus Aromatics, Dior Eau Sauvage EDT and Monsieur de Givenchy, to me. There is something a little "dirty" and gritty in the citrus to me. Armani Eau Pour Homme has a bit of that too. But I get nice periodic lavender and amber whiffs of this Boucheron in the air, whafting up to my nose.

I'd like to say something to people who haven't tried this yet. I'm reviewing the 1991 version. Although the reformulation is good and acceptable it is nothing compared to the original. This can still be purchased fairly cheaply and it rivals many niche fragrances. I want to say try it -- find a bottle of this if you can't find the original, get the reformulation. I honestly don't think there's a better scent to wear in the springtime. You may be very surprised to find that it's been there all along and you've just overlooked it. It's regal and elegant -- a mood elevator. You can wear it with jeans but it will send you looking for your best boots! If this was a Creed fragrance they'd be sold out.

Have you ever been skeptical that “masculine floral” could be a real thing? Boucheron Pour Homme just might make you a believer. It opens with a strong lemon blast, as many traditional gentlemen’s fragrances do. Slowly, the intensity of the citrus gives way to the floral heart, but those masculine base notes of vetiver, moss and sandalwood are always present, grounding the whole composition. After an hour or two, the residual drydown is a product of all the notes, neither wholly floral, citric, or woody, but just a perfect, beautiful blend of all three. A great fragrance for a well dressed gentleman that (thankfully) predates so many of the tired “modern” men’s fragrance cliches.

For the EDP version. What a find this is! A cocktail of Eau Sauvage EDT, Cerrutti 1881 and Jazz, possibly closest to Jazz. I love(d) Jazz but the current version is like listening to a recording compared to being there live, with fleeting performance. Boucheron PH is stronger, feels bright, alive and lasts. And I might now sell my Jazz bottle, why would I reach for it? This is a fantastic and versatile fragrance and the 4.04 rating is puzzlingly low. I paid £30 for 100ml, excellent value. In this genre Milano Cento still pips it for me in my favourites list - there's extra juiciness - but it is very close. And MC is quite hard to find. 4/5

just because something smells classy doesn't mean it smells old, mature or whatever. and tbh, if you're worried about women picturing their grandads after smelling it on you, then you are surely hanging around with teenage girls (not that girls who hate cirtruses and flowers actually exist). for those who are afraid of reformulations, my bottle was purchased on notino couple of weeks ago and both projection & longevity are good. it's a 100 ml edp version and I got it for 30 euros, which is certainly a great value if you ask me, but it's a great fragrance regardless of price since it was literally love at first sniff.

La început, miros de săpun. Apoi, poate peste 15 minute, ușor se transformă. Într-un citric, floral, aromat. Foarte frumos. Și așa mi-aș dori să rămână. Dar, după ceva vreme, revine la săpun. Cu toate acestea, îl iubesc și voi incerca sa îl am mereu in colecție. Există acel miros retro, aromat. Departe de Cerruti 1881. Altă deschidere, alt siaj. Iar pe partea cu Lauder, da, există o apropiere mare, doar că Lauder te lovește în cap cu lichen ascuțit și apoi vine partea aromată, iar Boucheron te pleznește cu săpunul, apoi citricele aromate. Per total, da, se merită în colecție, mai ales că are un preț foarte mic.

A personal favorite and a timeless classic. I have had the EDT and EDP, not too much difference to my nose, EDT is brighter and louder while a tad less beastly performance. I have eau sauvage and tried 1881, but this Juice is just as good and lasts 3 times longer at an amazing price point. Do I get compliments, no not at all. Do I LOVE it anyway, yes, yes I do! This IS the best cheapie I own and in my top 10 for sure. It's all personal taste on this one. It has a mature dated vibe for some, but for me it's magical. I feel like a 10 foot tall man who has it all together when I wear this.

It's a great scent , A Timeless Classic, Elegant, Classy and Clean. A bit mature but it smells so good and very pleasant. If you like 1881 Cerruti EDT, you will like this one. It opens up with like fresh soapy citrusy, green notes and floral notes in the background then dry down is green woody. This perfume has a masterful and complex composition,perfect for the spring, summer and fall. I really enjoy it and I love Boucheron Pour Homme EDT for Men, I'm so happy that I have it in my collection. The art of bottle design is very beautiful. Two Thumbs Up. Bravo Boucheron ! Posiblemente sea porque mi frasco es de 2010 y no lo había desempacado luego de mudarme de casa, pero no puedo entender a quienes dicen que la longevidad y la estela son pobres. Esto que estoy usando hoy es una bestia que no para de enviar oleadas y oleadas de una combinación de notas sublimes, elegantes y masculinas. Solo 5 sprays y lleno la habitación en la que esté. Muy de la vibra de Pour Homme YSL, no lo noto parecido a Eau Sauvage Dior, pero original y desafiante. Me pasa al usarlo algo similar a cuando uso Kouros, no por aroma, sino por la seguridad que me da tenerlo en mi piel.

Putting on my headphones, play some laidback house music, putting on vintage Cartier sunglasses, the Omega De Ville Hour Vision, a pair of Gant chinos and a crisp white button down shirt. On a journey to find a woman to share the rest of the day with, having her melt in my arms when the evening comes. You can pull off the aforementioned with ease wearing Boucheron Pour Homme. At least that's the feeling I get when Boucheron is on my skin. Life is short.

Revin cu o nouă recenzie. Am realizat că, de-a lungul timpului, este singurul parfum care a avut continuitate în colecția mea. Am cumpărat zeci de parfumuri, unele foarte scumpe, dar tot la Boucheron mă întorc. Și am realizat de ce. Zi de zi sunt asaltat de mirosuri ascuțite, mă lovesc de Invictus și Sauvage, și genul acesta. Parcă toți miros la fel. E un nor imens de parfum dur, sintetic și ascuțit. Ei. Aici intervine Boucheron. Atipic. Aromat. Și nimeni nu îl folosește. De aceea mă simt atât de bine cu el și de aceea, mereu este și va fi pe raft acasă.

This review is for the EDT. When I am in the mood for an old school fougere/chypre, this is the fragrance I turn to. It's ridiculous the value you get for the price that this goes for, and it's not too old fashioned that I would feel out of place. For reference I am a man in my 40's so what I like might not be what a guy in his 20's would like, so take that into account. I prefer this over similar profiles like Bois de Portugal, 1872, amouage Silver, and Lalique pour homme (lion). This is honestly one of the best cheapies I own.

I reviewed this 18 months ago (make me feel important... Go search for it! It's a work of genius...), and I liked it a lot. But what I didn't know was... this thing absolutely POPS in the heat. It proper bounces - magic. A couple of people below me relate this to Versace L'Homme. No. This is lemon sherbert moss mellow powder popping soap. Versace L'Homme is great, but it's acrid, pointy, sharp pissy lemon. I get it. They have lemon in common. But tractors, Rolls Royce and bicycles all have wheels. That doesn't make them "alike."

Fragrance, a window in time... Boucheron pour homme edp is one of my favourite time machines. A Citrusy blast of lemon verbena, followed closely by a playful balance of incense and sandalwood. This melange is tied neatly with an oak-moss bow. Mentally, it takes me to a time when I was ignorant about the aspects of fragrance, except: “that person smells good”. As a fragrance it sits nicely in between 80’s powerhouses, and 90’s florals. I don’t wear it everyday, but love it when I do.

I purchased this after watching a review by Lanier Smith on YouTube. It was a blind buy but I wasn't disappointed!. This is one of the most amazing citrus aromatics out there - amazing value,versatility and longevity and value for the price. This fragrance deserves a higher rating than the 4.02 at present. Normally citrus fragrances don't last,but this is so well blended that it lasts all day and keeps evolving. I've already gone through five bottles...so that's my vote.

fragrantica should have page for the 100ml edp which i am wearing. for its price this is outstanding. ph-edp is powerful blast of florals and citrus. it stands up, gets attention, and is a bit of a control freak. it somehow saves itself from being obnoxious with a dextrous balance. it is the guy in the suit who maybe has worked himself up through his own merit and is firmly on his own two feet. no apologies. no need to follow trends. clean, honest, trustworthy.

I had to read it twice, this is available for 20 bucks online! Very complex, pleasant and sophisticated fresh fragrance. Well blended, long lasting, and the best verbena I've ever smelled in a fragrance. It is like a fresh breeze in the sickly sweet/citrus/ambroxan fumes invading our nostrils in the last 10 years or so. If you like being intrigued, uplifted and upscaled, without remortgaging your apartment, go for it. You are welcome.

I have the EdP and it’s great! To me, the beauty is in the dry down when it evolves from a mainly citrusy scent into a warm but fresh fragrance. Cosy, still citrusy and floral, but clean and masculine. It's in the same vein as Lauder for Men and Dunhill for Men. The EdP has great staying power, I keep getting delicious wafts for up to 12 hours after spraying. I don’t get any similarity to Eau Sauvage at all.

To be honest, I never thought I'd like this cologne, because I thought it was too floral, citrusy (which in this case it blends in so we'll with the base notes) and not masculine, but to my surprise it smells very masculine and I truly believe that it's the Lemon Verbena and Bergamot that's bringing out that great masculine scent. I love it and I'm going to buy it in the near future..

I can picture an actor in the Golden Era of Hollywood wearing something like this. Classic and timeless type vibe. Surprised that POWDERY is not listed as an accord because this is powdery all the way through. Dries down to a very nice musky floral on my skin. Beautiful scent. Nothing I can add to this review that S_Mazza didn't cover really well two reviews down. Recommended.

Blast of effervescent lemon & verbena transforms into a rose-forward floral with balancing oakmoss and musk to provide lasting power. Bright and uplifting citrus aromatic that maintains its freshness throughout its life, even as it dries down woodier facets. Best in warm weather, I find it loses its spark in the cold. Great sillage and long-lasting, goes around 8hrs.

EDP variant. Legitimate classic scent. You probably smelled this from your father/uncle/grandad. Complex combination of citrus floral fresh vibrant rich masculine strong but not offensive and off-putting scent. All weather, day and night kind of fragrance.
