Mon Parfum

I used to have this beauty in the 90s and I absolutely looooved it. I was around 13 probably when my mom and I entered the chemists and our eyes wandered towards the perfume aile where we found this beauty. We both liked it alot and my mom being the absolute angel she was bought three bottles. One for her, one for me and one for my grandma. That's how she was, always thinking how she could make the people in her live happy. This perfume reminds me of my mom's love and is therefore very special to me. Now it has sadly been discontinued and probably no way to get my hands on a bottle. I think, if I had to choose one signature to represent the essence of me, this perfume would be it. I'm so sad it has been discontinued, especially since it is an iconic perfume. Mon Parfume was Bourjois' first release back in 1924 and marketed "my perfume reflects my personality" and "the sweetest perfume in the world." It was created by Ernest Beaux who also created Chanel no 5. This smells nothing like Bourjois' current releases, which to my nose smell very cheap and watered down. Mon Parfum was rich, lush and elegant floral-fruity. Bourjois please bring this masterpiece back! Dear Fragrantica can you please add the notes for this one? I'm dying to reminisce, even if it just through reading the notes whiles trying to recall the scent from memory. @ginawadsworth This perfume was relaunched in 1995 :)

As for the notes, I found this description from another website: Top Note: a flight of fruity notes (peach, mirabelle plum and apricot) with a feminine touch of white flowers (fresia, water hyacinth and apple blossom). Heart Note: a very elegant floral bouquet of rose, tuberose, Ylang-Ylang and orange blossom. Base Note: a sensual, soft harmony of vanilla and heliotrope. I don't know how accurate this is, but does sound true to it's scent as I remember it. Again, Bourjois, I beg you. Bring Mon Parfum back. It is a true classic and would easily stand the test of time.

For me,it was a nice surpise when I bought it for the first time in the mid90's.Jasmine and ylang-ylang were a really nice pair,amongst with a hint of vanilla.It was extremely cheap at that time,but it'd been discontinued a long time ago and I don't know why.

I still have a few drops left in a bottle, but I don't want to finish it, because it brings quite a nice memories of my youth. It was one of the first parfums that I bought. Ohh, I would love that Bourjois would make this parfum again!! 👃🏻

I have been reading a book about Chanel No 5. which makes reference to this perfume which was introduced in 1919. I would assume it fell out of fashion with the advent of the introduction of synthetic perfume molecules being discovered at the time Chanel was conceived. Also Bourjous bought the rights to sell Chanel perfumes which brought them much wealth. Mon perfume was also a victim of economic failure in that they got wealth from Chanel instead.
