Marble Fruit

One of my favorite houses and thankful that S sells it here in the States. this is not your typical fruity scent at all, it’s unique and quite differnt from you fruity scents. The pear is definitely front and center with the nectarine, you get the florals in the background. This house is amazing because nothing is like it out there. Definitely niche quality!!! Longevity is amazing and lasts forever! sillage is also very good you will get noticed. I look forward to buying more. I have two in my collection at the moment. I have taken this out to wear in the spring and summer. It’s a juicy fruit fragrance, with a unique twist. Highly recommended 10/10! Definitely unisex

I picked up the Boy Smells sample set from my local Sephora a few weeks ago and Marble Fruit is absolutely the standout fragrance from the set. It's fruity of course but has a distinct sharpness to it, like a fruity-smelling wine. It's a potent fragrance when I smell it on myself though I would describe the sillage as moderate, but with heavier application I could see it being pretty strong. It makes me feel very glamorous and I will definitely be purchasing a full-sized bottle in the future, though admittedly the $98 price point feels a bit steep for 65ml but I think the uniqueness makes it worth it.

This is so yummy. Their site briefly had it on sale! Very gourmand for me, with an earthy green tea and honey scent on initial spray. Like a sweet honey green boba tea. Shortly after, dries down with more prominent white florals with a woodsy base. The journey through top, middle, and base notes is very quick. All distinct within 10 mins. After that turns into a slight floral + woodsy almost nose blind skin scent. Nice for no/low fragrance settings. Probably smells nicer to ppl in the room once the nose blind hits, but I'll still grab it to experience the scent journey despite the duration.

I really have to say Boy Smells is becoming one of my favorite line! Every fragrance is unisex but fantastically blended. I just purchased this and it definitely is fruity but a mature mixture not being overly sweet. Pear and nectarine is right there in the opening. Honestly, it’s turns skin scent in the dry down on me. I get the sandalwood cashmeran and musk in the end when it settles on my skin. None of the florals show up on me. Excellent scents and will always have this in my collection. Can’t wait to smell the others from Boy Smells. Keep em coming guys! 😊

This perfume smells like being fed spiced, roasted pears in a garden laden with ripe jasmine flowers. It’s such a unique, intoxicating scent that’s flowery with just the right amount of musk. The white floral balances out the cashmeran beautifully and the pink peppercorn develops so nicely on my skin. Anytime I’m wearing it I get showered in compliments, and the scent lasts all day. I respectfully disagree with any and all dill pickle comments, that’s wild.

Musky ripe fruit basket goodness!! I’m normally a huge avoider of any white florals but these are sooo sweet and heavy like a hug in the spring time. Feels like walking through a garden of florals while eating a fresh pear. The cinnamon isn’t super loud but it does mesh well with the cashmere to create that comforting hug like ambiance.

Really loving this one, at first I caught a whiff of bug spray, and there's also something in the opening that reminds me of pickles, and then it settles into nectarine and musk. I've never smelled anything quite like this before and I am tearing through my sample bottle and will probably go for the full size soon.

this would have been my signature scent if they had not discontinued it :( feels clean but never boring, this scent kickstarted my pink pepper and magnolia obsessions. this will live in my head forever, and in the sample bottle im trying to make last the rest of my life

I tested this against 20~ other indie fruity scent samples. On the blotter, this was my absolute favorite unique woody fruit I'd ever experienced (along with a surprise VM Mango Skin). It came off atypical, soft yet grounding, delicately sumptuous, could be day or night. I see it more for fall or spring, but could be nice for summer in some climates too. It does give you more of gently aging fruit or an impression of fruit being painted (I am not sure why) rather than ripe, bright fruit or artificial candy. Unfortunately, on my skin, it starts with the pickly type sandalwood, then that really interesting beautiful fruit layers on top, but my skin eats that away quickly and it's back to the pickly sandalwood only. I really love the scent profile, so I guess it will have to be the candle for me, since my skin didn't play well with it, sadly.

I don't think this one is too bad, but I'm not smelling the dill pickle on the dry down like others have. When I first sprayed it on my skin, I did briefly smell that pickly wood scent, but that was gone in an instant. This is coming off more as a woody floral to me now and it's really better than I expected based on reading on the pickle comments. Out of the discovery set of five scents for Boy Smells, I think this one and the Flor De La Virgen are the best. Edit: ok, now that this has been on my arm for a while, I primarily smell a slightly sweet rose scent and not much else. No pickle or woody smell now at all.

I anticipated being disappointed about this perfume, given all of the mixed emotions and complaints of dill in the comments. To me, this smells kind of like Celestial Seasoning's Country Peach Passion tea. It's really pleasant! It is sweet and peachy with a little bit of spice (I sense cinnamon and cloves) and then turns into a cozy musk. Though I applied this perfume with a sample dabber, I think the scent fades relatively quickly (like most Boy Smells perfumes) and the projection isn't the strongest. I think Flor de la Virgen and Marble Fruit are tied for my favorite Boy Smells scents!

This is a really grown-up and unique fruit scent with a lot of depth. On me it can go almost a little bit boozy, but I like that maturity to it while you still get the lightness and sweetness of a fruit scent. Impressed by the wear performance--still on skin after 10 hours and has a nice bit of power behind it. Probably not quite scent bubble levels, but definitely noticeable to those in standing next to you. I think this is a great warm weather scent that could fare well in day or night.

I got the boy smells sampler and swatched all of them, and this is the clear winner for me so far. at first spray it is very cologne-y, but then settles into a really interesting but pleasant spicy-smooth-fruit scent. I'm not a big fan of floral and this scent has the perfect balance, and the soft and silky base notes really help to counteract the initial sharp spice. wears pretty close to the skin and I'll have to update later once I get a feel for the longevity.

Musky, fruity deliciousness! I don't get dill at all. On my skin, it's just stone fruit, musk, and white florals. These white florals are particularly heady, but I like that. I love my indoles. I do like to layer this with JHAG Not a Perfume, but its good on it's own! Still like Flor de la Virgen and Cashmere Kush more though.

This is the first ambroxan scent that I'd even consider putting on my skin, usually it smells like stale wet laundry but this perfume smells so different. I love the "dill" note, but I like aromatic fruity things so that makes sense

I was nervous to smell this because of the cinnamon but it dries down to a very soft fruity floral reminiscent of an early 2000s body spray very tasty and musky

A little bit reminiscent of Flor de la Virgen from what I could smell. Pretty great mature fruity fragrance. Will remain in my collection!

Fruit and flowers without either making much of a statement. I also get something dill-like, which seems out of place.

candy syrupy rhubarby nectarine. artificial peach flavor in ramune. becomes a medium floral.

Marble Fruit opens with fruity with a hint of spicy from the cinnamon and pink peppercorn but quickly develops to a powdery floral on me. The powdery notes I get are a bit much for me to really love this fragrance but I’ll still enjoy using up the sample. Feminine leaning scent and would be nice spring scent or even an autumn scent with the addition of the cinnamon and musk for those who like fruity florals year round. I didn’t pick up on the dill scent some have mentioned! This is my last little review for the Boy Smells discovery set and for reference this is how I would rank them :) Violet Ends > Flor de la Virgen > Tantrum > Marble Fruit > Suede Pony > Rose Load

This perfume is rather confusing. It starts out smelling like watery watermelon mixed with dill pickles for the first fifteen minutes or so before morphing into straight dill pickles for three hours. Then it suddenly turns into slightly rancid coconut soap for the rest of the time. It’s basically the perfume version of one of those weird independent films that jumps all over the place trying to tell a story that barely makes sense. It does have an impressive longevity, but it’s not enough to get me to buy it.

First blast of warm spicy sandalwood that quickly transforms to a clean musky sweet freesia. There's a sparkly sharp sweetness that lifts the scent and doesn't allow the musky fruity floral sweetness to wallow too deep. The sparkly notes keep rising up through the warm spiciness as the scent warms on my skin. Overall, a clean bright modern take on a fruity white floral where the spice and pepper lends depth and something unique to the classic formula. Unisex but leans feminine and would work in all weather.

this opens with a slight bitterness and a melange of nondescript notes. it doesn't smell like much honestly, i can hardly tell what i am smelling except chemicals. finally jasmine comes through and starts dominating but it's still pretty subtle. i get a hint of spice, magnolia and cashmeran later on. dries down to a slightly woody, soft musky magnolia.

I had such high hopes for this. When I saw the line's discovery collection at a great price around Sept '22, I grabbed it! What a let-down.😕 EDIT 12/28/23: Flor de la Virgen was the best one out of the 5 samples, in my opinion.

My skin pulls a TON of cedar. Overripe, interesting pear for 5 minutes, then pure cedar

Boy oh boy do I love a good pickle. I love the crunch, I love the tartness, and on a good sandwich there is nothing better. Now as much as I love pickles, it's the last thing in the world that I want to smell like and Marble Fruit smells like pickle juice in a perfume bottle. For me, Marble Fruit is a big NO. This is disappointing because on paper, this scent is magic. It's the perfect blend of fruit and wood; just lovely. I don't know how it transforms from beauty to beast on my skin, but it does. Thank goodness I only purchased a travel size sprayer because I'd be mad as heck if I was stuck with a full size bottle of this pickle juice masquerading as perfume.

I purchased the discovery set for Marble Fruit and was really let down. The perfume opens with a small burst of fruitiness that disappears almost instantly and dries down to a stuffy powdery smell — in my case, it smelled like my 90 year-old great aunt’s living room as a child. I really like Boy Smells as a brand, but don’t find that they do any of their individual products very well; there is a quality in each of their perfumes that make them smell like candles, which isn’t what I want to smell like when reaching for perfume.

I don't get the dill thing people are saying, but I don't really like this one. It's a strongly floral, kind of sweet booze-y fruit wine scent, nice initially, but quickly turns powdery like potpourri. Hyper-feminine but in a grandmotherly way. I got the sampler and this was one of the ones I gave away.

Marble Fruit is a unique, fruit-forward scent. It leans a little boozy on me as it settles on my skin. Unfortunately, the fruit completely disappears on the dry down and all I get is cinnamon and sandalwood (dill pickle vibes.) I wanted to like this but I am hopeful for Flor de la Virgen!

Opens slightly fruity and spicy for a brief second but drys down quickly to generic floral. I wouldn't call this a sweet fruity scent at all. The floral/powder/rose notes take over. Don't blind buy this if you're looking for fruit.

Notes looked soooo good but this is not it my friends. The projection is so light. Smells like a sort of fruity shampoo or something, it feels like something Juicy Couture or Victoria's secret would release.

This smells like a grown-up version of the Aeropostale perfume I used in middle school

I wish "heartbroken" was a rating option, because that's how I feel. I came for the nectarine (which is one of the best smells on earth to me) and based on the gorgeous pyramid, came close to blind buying a FB. I settled for a sample and out of all those gorgeous notes, the one and only thing I smell is a horrible dill-y masculine musk. I resisted the urge to scrub hoping like hell that it would develop, but no. Half an hour later, nothing has changed and I can't stand this anymore. There seems to be a specific musk that does this on me, and Essential Parfums uses it as well--both The Music and Divine Vanille went tragically wrong on me. I'm so envious of people who got the full pyramid, there aren't many fragrances with nectarine listed. Beware of blind buying this, but I hope it works for you.

Did a little research and apparently when perfumes use Australian (green) sandalwood instead of Mysore, it will smell to some people like dill, sometimes a little, sometimes a lot, so it's safe to say this composition uses green sandalwood. Ew.

Got a sample. Wanted to love it based on the note description but I just get dill on the opening and can’t get past that.

Gorgeous floral-y musk. Something about this is so bright and blooming, perfect for spring and hopefully warmer months. This dries down into a comforting, soft musk on my skin, I get some of the sandalwood and cedar coming through that takes over once the bright floral freshness starts to fade. Not sure where other reviewers are getting dill, maybe that's the cardamom? I don't get much of the cinnamon but there's a general warmth in the base. This is quite reminiscent of Gucci Bloom Gorgeous Gardenia to me, or a less offensively strong YSL Mon Paris. The fruity notes die down to a lightly floral vibe, it's a safe scent. The pear and pink peppercorn on top are striking but don't last that long. This is just a lovely fruity floral with soft background sweetness, not worth a blind buy imo but if you like this type of comfy floral you'll probably dig it. I will definitely keep testing this, but so far it's quite enjoyable.

As a male I personally enjoy this scent, granted I am using it from a discovery set that I was gifted. Going to be very general and blunt here. Opening is a nice sweet floral that I would normally find in the usual white floral women's scents but also sweet but not overly sweet. Then from that goes to a musky very lightly woody in the mid and base once I've inhaled enough. I find that its just in the right spot for me in terms of if I passed by a female wearing this, I would think to myself. Wow thats really nice. For guys this paints a picture of someone wearing a fun button shirt. I also imagine a more serious guy in a suit but inside they're a big softie. As for people saying it smells like pickle, I've never come across whats being described. All I know is that I like the scent :)

Spicy, peppery and fuzzy floral that very much hits right in the middle of feminine and masculine. Really high quality smelling. I can imagine wearing this on a luxury weekend city break, enjoying lazy days cafe hopping and shopping in boutiques. It reminds me of another fragrance I have smelt before but I just can’t put my finger on what it is.

I really like some of the notes in this unique fragrance. I smelled on my sons arm and then immediately comes the dill. Obsessed with pickles so dill is easy for me to identify but don’t like it in my perfume. It’s too bad because the rest of the smell is amazing.

My boyfriend says this smells like pickled sunflower seeds 😭 it definitely has a hidden mariney note that comes out on my skin? Smells like rose to me but with a pickled ending... wouldn’t recommend blind buying but I haven’t seen anyone else notice this issue!

rotten fruit salad followed by a very dilly sandalwood. which is so odd as a sandalwood lover, because I have never gotten what others meant by saying that, until trying this fragrance. then I got the overtly fecal flowers. not for me at all.
