Red Hot

If you're in the market for incense + red fruit notes + spice, this is for you. Like a juicy raspberry red hot with a little smokiness. It reminds me of an edgier Rose Jam by Lush, or a much stronger Colour of Pomegranate by Moth and Rabbit. Really impressed by the projection and longevity of this one. I blind bought the travel size since it's on sale and seemingly/possibly being phased out? Within a day of receiving the travel size and wearing it out all day I purchased a full bottle. My first Boy Smells perfume and didn't have high expectations, but this is an instant favorite.

Smoky, incense rose that still has a jammy sense about it, thanks to the raspberry. the cedarwood and pepper notes comes into play nicely here and help balance the sweetness and smokiness. the papyrus adds a "yearning love letter, carrying the intimate scent of her perfume, journeyed across oceans to a distant lover" vibe. I do like rose perfumes, but this one is really unique! perfect for a moody, cold evening with a bit of romance.

Raspberry, rose, and incense. This is all I wanted Atomic Rose from Initio to be.

This fragrance is bitchy and inelegant, but sometimes I want to smell that way. I don’t find it ‘churchy’.... unless your version of church involves sequins, burlesque, and Fireball. Imagine crushing a bunch of dried roses, raspberry jolly ranchers, and red hots and snorting it. It’s good, (un)clean fun. What this fragrance lacks in subtlety, it makes up for in longevity. I reach for Red Hot when I need a scent that will take me through the day— and evolve! It starts out very sharp, and settles into a powdery, fruity, smoky rose. By day’s end, I mainly get Caswell Massey baby powder, which I’m never mad about. Head’s up— vague bbq sauce smell on clothes several days later.

This baby is for someone grown and who is in touch with their carnal prowess. It's not for the whimsical type, its giving dark feminine energy. If you enjoy fragrances like POAL, Vanilla S*X, or Libre you’ll most likely enjoy this. That said all the fragrances mentioned above would be great to layer with this. I personally enjoy it as a base for nights in that will end with a good time. But love to layer it with a more prominent, earthy rose as a topper for nights out when I want to evoke my inner Von Tease.

I also went through several Slow Burn candles and have waited for this fragrance for a long time - I even saved some of the candle wax and would rub a little bit on my wrists (not sure if that's recommended, but that was my level of obsession!). To me, incense is more dominant than anything, which is a bit disappointing because I love the pepper note in the candle. Still gorgeous and very wearable.. I got a little more of the fruity notes on the dry-down.

I like this a lot. It smells to me like the 90s, in a weird way. Picture it- You are a preteen in a mall, during the heyday of malls. You stop in Bath & BW to smell some sprays. Sun ripened raspberry is the spritz of the moment. Then, you beg your parents to take you to one of the New Age shops so you can play with rainsticks. it smells heavily of nag champa, which they burn indoors because fire code be damn*d, it's the 90s after all.

I was wearing layered with Apple Love by Brooklyn Ellis. Came home late and roommate asked where I'd been and said I smelled like I had been smoking or clubbing. Very smoky on me, I only get a little rose and raspberry. Still very pleased with it, but that's probably not what people are looking for from it so probably not a blind buy. Heavy if worn at the wrong time of year but I'm sensitive to that and others may not be. 7/10

interesting -- I do not get get rose but get the raspberry fruity almost instantly and then it just fades into incense/smoke but then get faint whiffs of raspberry fruity again, I might be a bit anosmic to this one, if you've ever smelled with the candlestick by clue perfumery it has that element to it but way less smokey and a bit more fruity. it has potential!

I am at mass, i’m a young child and frankly i’m overwhelmingly bored. The elderly woman next to me is wearing rose perfume, vintage and oddly comforting. The smell of the church’s incense permeates the whole place. I search my pockets between hymns and find a cinnamon grandma candy. I open it and eat it. That’s what this perfume feels like.

Very rosy. Kind of reminders me of Rose Jam from Lush. The smokiness and woodiness is ever so slight up close. Otherwise, this really projects as just rose to anyone passing by. It is a great rose scent that isnt drowned out by other florals. They did rose right here and it lasts longer than average.

Was very scared to try this one, on the nozzle the raspberry was very pronounced and, if anything, smelled like a Delina knockoff. Thankfully, it was incensey and smoky more than anything. Not getting the jammy rose everyone else is, it smells quite dry to me. I find their candle-to-fragrance scents to be very mediocre in comparison to their other work for the most part. I really wanted to love Broken Rosary but it smelled really boring as a fragrance, and I see the same issues here. Like Broken Rosary, I'll probably throw this one on every now and then (if only because the one friend I pawn my less preferred rose scents on hates incense) but I'd never buy a full size. A nice attempt, and not bad at all, but didn't delight me like I'd hoped.

I have gone through so many slow burn candles and always hoped they’d make it into a perfume. I was really excited for this. I’m not sure if it’s just my body chemistry, but this scent smells sour on me and just smells like artificial raspberries and cigarettes. Gave me a headache.

Big rose and raspberry at first. Incense is not my favorite, but it works here. I assumed there'd be cinnamon, but this is not spicy at all -- it's sour and resinous, slightly powdery with the floral, soapy and smoky.

Sweet mary mother and joseph. I worked at McDonald's in High School and my first impression upon smelling this was "Eau de Happy Meal". How the heck does this smell like the inside of a McDonald's? Even after drying down, it stinks of burger buns. One reviewer says it smells like the 90s to them.... am I feeling this way because the night shift of my McDonald's used to smoke cigarettes in the mens restroom after close? Is it the smoke note? WTF??

t smells like sex on a night out; the kisses taste like sour beer with a hint of cigarette. I am not complimenting this perfume, it does not smell cute. It is a no, no, no. A very weird smell. The raspberry note seems bad too. I don’t know if this was an attempt to make Rose Load from them, which I have and love, but this one is not even close to it, even though they share similar notes. This will be a NO.

This is not a fresh, sweet or delicate rose. I also don’t find it Jammy like some do. To me this is dried rose petals laying on a bed of warm, sweet cedar sprinkled with spicy pepper and papyrus in a room with incense burning. I also get a very slight lipsticky smell from the raspberry. Almost like a gentle raspberry wax. I find this fairly unisex if not a bit masculine. Immediately when sprayed I get very dry pungent spices and smoke but that doesn’t last long. As the fragrance sits I get an incredibly smooth and warm cedar base as the slight sweetness from the rose and raspberry mix and merge with the spices balancing them out and creating a captivating, alluring scent. This feels very vampy in the best way! I have been enjoying layering a deep vanilla with this to create a sultry evening scent. If I were to picture a fictional character who would wear this fragrance, I think Eve (played by Tilda Swinton) in the film Only Lovers Left Alive, would perfectly match the mood and vibe this dark, smoky rose fragrance brings to my mind. Update: I wanted to update that the raspberry note has gotten stronger, more pronounced and sweeter and less waxy over this past month since purchase and it’s now giving me a hint of that jammy rose some people have mentioned. The fragrance itself has sweetened as a whole making it more feminine and less dry. It’s still dark and moody but has grown a bit brighter! I actually can see some finding this sweeter, slightly more playful profile more wearable but I enjoyed that peppered dry dead rose petals with subdued less sweet, waxy raspberry a bit more. I do find I get a bit of that back after it dries down. Still a scent I’m totally loving either way. If you received this and it seems too harsh and dry, give it a few weeks and you may enjoy it! Also don’t use the “Reminds Me Of”section as a guide here. Apparently this site is flooded with middle school kids or those with a middle school level of maturity and emotional intelligence!

I’ve gone through several slow burn candles, it’s one of my favorite scents. My perfume was just delivered today. To me the perfume is very similar on the dry down, but I do find that it is slightly smokier and woodier than the candle. I get more of the cedar wood and less of the rose and raspberry. Which is honestly kind of a bummer for me. I wish I had gone with the travel size instead of the full bottle but I was so excited I ordered it the second I saw the email. It’s still a beautiful scent just a little more unisex than I was going for.

the initial impression is pink pepper cinnamon red hots, rose, incense. i wish this kept through the whole life of the fragrance but it burns off. settles into rose and - what claims to be raspberry but i actually smell as lychee. exciting in the initial spritz. settles into a clinging, juicy gummy rose-lychee candy with easy mass appeal in the dry down (someone mentioned delina and i don’t think it’s far off). juvenile and pretty. i love the initial. the fade isn’t for me. i want to layer it with a chili pepper incense frag

I wasn’t sure if I’d like this but I was pleasantly surprised. It has an almost vintage-like quality reminiscent of Opium to me (I think it’s the resin and spice notes in conjunction). I can smell the raspberry on the nozzle but not really on me. It’s more of a slightly sweet and spiced incense-rose.

On my skin, this is all smoke and roses. I get no raspberry basically, but the papyrus, rose and smokiness are strong. This is a serious perfume perfect for a cold, moody night. I like it.

very candle-waxy like... not my type of groove. gives me almost grandma vibes. very jammy-sweet raspberry with smoke in the back.

Does anyone know if this smells exactly like the Candle?
