Avenue Montaigne

I'm going to start with the drydown which is ravishingly gorgeous!! This perfume is worth getting for the drydown alone. It's too beautiful for words! The top notes are heavy on the fruits but this was instant love for me. Sweet and addictive, the floral notes then begin to unfold themselves. Rose, jasmine and tuberose! It doesn't get better than that! I started with the drydown, so I'll end my review with the drydown which is the most obedient patch which is freshened by musk and wrapped up in the sweetness of juicy peaches. Total heaven in a bottle. This is certainly FB worthy IMHO.

This is yum, like a gourmand fruity milkshake. I hate grapefruit and luckily I can't even smell it here. All the notes are really well blended to me, I do not think that raspbery stands out above all the other notes, i can smell freesia, dewberry, the florals, the peach, everything all at the same time. It does remind somewhat of Hot Couture, and it's lovely.

My little brother wears this! Even though it's supposedly a women's perfume, I'd say a man can pull it off with no issues. The berries are predominant here, but they're not overly sweet or jammy; they're tangy and dewy ("garden-fresh", if you like), and with the earthy tinge brought by the patchouli, this perfume reminds me of late mornings in my grandparents' raspberry patch. Rose, gardenia and jasmine unfold after about ten minutes, always in the background but still very recognisable. Musk and peach give this perfume rondeur and depth, as well as a gentle softness that prevents the berries from turning too sour or too sparkly. The grapefruit is barely detectable: I had to really strain myself to catch a whiff of it, and it translates as a mere touch of bitterness that, to me, is more reminiscent of grapefruit peel than actual grapefruit. Despite what one could expect, this really isn't all that feminine, or all that fruity (at least, not in the way one tends to think of when one reads about "fruity" perfumes): this is the smell of fruit on the vine wafting through the air of a well-kept flower garden, except deeper, earthier and more concentrated. It's a very luxurious scent (this is one of these perfumes that one might describe as "smelling expensive") and like many Brecourt perfumes, it seems to create an aura of poise and well-bred self-confidence around the wearer. It's elegant, understated, but definitely neither shy nor demure.

As fruity-florientals go, this one is pretty good. It's grown on me since I first tried it over a year ago. Or maybe I've been seduced by the fruity-floral gen. Maybe it's just no good in the cold, but GrEaT on a spring day. Lasts longer than the sweet Juicy Coutures I tried which are reminiscent (tried three at once, mixed them up ofcourse). And a niche at a friendly price really is tres designer (un-niche). Sunny and sweet. Bright and breezy. Isn't that okay? And another thing, I'm happy with the quality from Brecourt. Does the price-tag indicate the quality? I've noticed around here for quite some time that Brecourt isn't always considered quite niche enough. Don't know if I'll buy a bottle but I'll give it a few more tries. Avenue Montaigne won't change the world but it has improved my day :) It's just perfume, isn't it? But I don't want to go to the naughty corner.

I received a free sample of this fragrance today and, knowing nothing about it or Brecourt, sprayed it on myself. I gotta tell ya, I'm a straight guy and I actually think I would wear this. I like how it smells on my skin. Yes, the opening is powdery and rosy, but it settles into a generally floral fragrance that has a certain formality / distinction to it. For that reason, I can see myself wearing Avenue Montaigne with a suit or even just for work (I have a white collar job). Yes, it leans slightly feminine but still strikes me as unisex -- such that if everyone around you is like me and knows nothing about this perfume, if you're a guy rocking this, it's highly doubtful that anyone would think you were wearing a women's fragrance.

Lovely Chypre! Its give me a little retro vibe, but ot the good side 😀 Very good longevity, very, very feminine fragrance! Brings me good feelings and emotions, when i wear it.

It smells like fruit and soil after rain. Very musky and earthy, slight sourness. Very elegant

The smell of this perfume is not what I expected based on the notes. In the opening it smells soapy and dirty at the same time. The fragrance lasted about 9 hours and even after 9 hours it was still noticeable when I smelled my wrist. Today at work severall people said that they could smell me even after I left the room. So you don't have to spray much to make people notice you. The dry down is still not my thing. There are a lot of flowers in the notes, bus this is not floral to me.

The scent itself on me wasn't nothing like I expected at all. So here we go, it is not gourmand or jummy or anykind of fruity floral for me, it is actually for me extremely moldy, sour, gone-bad fruit bowl and body odour (must be from musk). I actually enjoyed it at the start, but as it develops, musk on me gets stronger and the berry-musk mix in Avenu Montaigne is not wearable by me. As from the berry mush, the most noticeable is raspberry on me and I get freesia a lot as well (and peach on my skin is very present) . I do not get patchouli, which in this case is a pity, because i think that it would balance things out a bit, but well, we can't get all we wish for. Silage is more than great, unfortunately I can smell this on myself very clearly and all the time, as with longevity - Brecourt are the good guys and this stays on the skin for good 8 hours.

Upon initial application, Brecourt AVENUE MONTAIGNE reminded me of a dozen other sweet florientals--specifically of the sandalwood vanilla variety. The quality struck me as similar to ELLEN TRACY, in other words, designer fare. All of this proves once again that notes are metaphors, it seems to me... As the perfume dried down, I warmed up to it a bit (I use past tense, because my small sample is now exhausted), but to be honest not all that much. There is a fruitiness, and a musky patchouli, and I do think that it smells all right, but it reminds me of something like a cross between The Body Shop LOVE ETC and MIDNIGHT BAKULA. The fruits are somewhat vague, the patchouli is musky and sweet. It's definitely okay, but not exceptional and nothing that I need, given that I own but rarely wear LOVE ETC and MIDNIGHT BAKULA...

oooh love this. This is a gorgeous dark dewberry scent. It smells like very sophisticated berries shrouded in patchouli and some sort of french elegance. I have a few of the Brecourt samples but this is the first one I'm trying. This has a good throw, I've literally already had a compliment on it and it's only 9.14am. This is a good sign. It smells very refined and is a lovely Chypre, a slight incensey feel comes through also. This is lovely!! I want a bottle. :)

The opening has a bit of nail polish to it, but that doesn't persist. This is a nice, warm berry chypre, luxurious without ever getting "in-your-face" or matronly. Dominant raspberries aren't my cup of tea, but I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys them in a grownup scent. If you like Hot Couture but find it overpowering, try Avenue Montaigne.

Peaches on a soft Damascus jasmine with major gardenia and a slightly tuberose to change the effect of the fruity power over the whole juice. Some raspberries and a mild flower freesia might appear later on but the softly peaches plays the main part in this juice. I personally liked it but i tend to love it on a lady's neck.

oriental fruity-patchouly the opening is very heavy on red fruits but the drydown is the sexiest part where all notes unfold. 6.5/10 great for the price. Evening events or parties.
