Contre Pouvoir

If you don't enjoy liquorice or cardamom, stay away, this perfume is not for you. If you do, however, Contre-Pouvoir is definitely worth checking out. This perfume is classy, confident, and silk-smooth, with a touch of arrogance that makes it all the more interesting. It is on the sweeter side, but it's never cloying, the cheekiness of cardamom and lime perfectly balancing out the liquorice. As it dries down, it turns into a warm, slightly spicy skin scent, highlighted by drier, fresher notes I can't really identify but that reminded me of clean laundry. It's complex and remains interesting as it evolves, and it also has amazing longevity. In my opinion it's perfectly unisex. I wholeheartedly recommend this perfume to anyone in search of something both different and chic.

I really enjoyed this fragrance. I know it was catered for men but I really liked it on me. Anyway, this is unique, memorable, fresh, day fragrance that's hard to describe and I would encourage you to try it. I smell bergamot, cardamom, vetiver, clover flower, little amber at the base. This one has really good quality and very well made!!! Also, I appreciate the fact that it's affordable. Good job Brecourt!

Beautiful fragrance, really well made (as all of the Brecourt perfumes - classy, elegant, one word - french). I consider Contre Pouvoirto be a unisex frag. My friend and I (we are both women) have this perfume and we love it. Interesting enough it does not smell similar on us. On my friend it turns into a sensual tabacco and on me rich and deep licorice. In either way it's gorgeous.

Hands down my fav perfume, all rounder. When you want to take only one perfume with you, thats the one. Fresh enough for summer and day, strong and niche enough for winter and night. Too bad recently the quality went down drastically- sillage and logevity nothing to compare with what it was ~10 yrs ago. Declaration is similar, but Brecourt is way more sophisticated and balanced.

St. Vincent (musician Anne Clark) has apparently found this in Amsterdam and enjoyed wearing it a lot, and I love it when women wear woody male scents.

This creation overlaps a bit with L'Artisan Parfumeur Méchant Loup and Fou d'Absinthe. That is of course a good thing! The licorice and woods and sweet spice (cardamom) all mingle together enticingly. Come to think of it, there are also reflections here of Lolita Lempicka au Masculin! Needless to say, only licorice root lovers need apply. Some guys may find this too girly, but those who appreciate any of the above-named scents may take to this one as well. So far this is my favorite from the Brecourt collection. Definitely unisex. The quality is probably closer to Lolita Lempicka than to L'Artisan Parfumeur, but the composition is appealing despite the explicit mention of ambroxan in the note pyramid. Fortunately, the aromachemicals don't steal the show, as so often happens these days...

if you want to travel to india and u can't afford it, this perfume will do that for you. one word spiceeee. the best spicy perfume that i've ever smelled.i love iti don't know why but i smell alittle bitter/smooky orange on it(like hermes).if you love spicy perfume let's try it. update:it has very low sillage.after 2 hours really has not any sillage. just good quality and lasting.7/10 این عطر دقیقا شما رو به سفری اعجاب انگیز به ادویه های معطر هندی می برید. من عاشق بوی سنگین ادویه در عطر هستم و برای همین در همان نظر اول عاشق این شدم. ته بوی عطر یه مقدار بوی تق هرمس هم می دهد ولی خیلی طبیعی تر. این عطر جزء کارای کاملا طبیعی و دست ساز هست و به نظر من با قیمت 450 هزار نسبت به عطر های دیگه خیلی می ارزد.

update at first i think it has vary good last and sillage but i was totally wrong. middle last and very very poor sillage in my skin maximum about 1 hour. i'm very disappointed for buying this one in this price.noe i just like scent not love.7/10 اولش فکر می کردم ماندگاری و پخش بوی خیلی خوبی داره و برای همین مبلغ کزافی بابت خرید آن پرداخت کردم چون بوی باکلاسی داره ولی بعد از حدود 2 ماه استفاده تازه فهمیدم که پخش بوی آن در حد اسپری هم نیست. ته تهش 1 ساعت بیشتر پخش بو نداره. گوله کامنت ها رو نخورید من این عطر رو دارم که با اطمینان دارم می گم پخش بوی افتضاحی داره. حیفه پولی که دادم(حدوده 500 هزار تومان) خلاصه ارزش خرید نداره

this perfume is a journey in the spice market , it is full full aroma it attracts senses from the beginning till it dries down , sweetness of licorice is moderate by the spiciness of cardamon and freshness of vetiver , it is an elegant classy perfume . i suggest it

You can feel the Declaration vibe in the dry-down.

Trop de cardamome, c'est vraiment un parfum centré autour de la cardamome, ceux qui aiment cette note apprécieront, les autres ... pas sur !

Contre Pouvoir Brecourt Uau, o que dizer sobre as obras da perfumaria criadas pela Brecourt?! Contre Pouvoir é uma sensacional fragrância que abre monstruosamente cítrica com Laranjas e Bergamotas amaracujadas indiscutivelmente. Sua abertura me remeteu bastante às temerosas fragrâncias da Contouré [risos]..., mas tudo muito sutil e rápido, graças a Deus! O Alcaçuz do coração é um ingrediente de peso na fragrância, porque ele consegue se estender até o coração e se unir ao Vetiver e fazer um casamento magnífico parindo folhas de Trevos atabacadas. O Vetiver vai e volta, esconde-se, depois vem novamente e continua assim... É um perfume um tanto difícil de se usar e agradar, “blind” nele? Nem pensar, tem que experimentá-lo e vivenciar suas facetas passo a passo e se possível retestá-lo quantas vezes forem necessárias. É importante frisar que quem gosta de notas de chás tem uma grande chance de amá-lo logo de início, toda essa mistura interessante descrita acima permanece por horas, lembrando meio que distante, o cheiro de chás ingleses tomados as 5h da tarde. Tem sillage e fixação absurdas de potentes!

Nu înțeleg de ce, unii aseamănă Brecourt cu Declarația de la Cartier. Nu sunt la fel, chimen mult la Declarație. Aici cardamomul. Există un singur parfum asemănător. Voyage de la Hermes. Le am pe amândouă. Și Brecourt are cardamomul cu citrice, dar mai dulce puțin, iar Voyage este plin de cardamomul citric. Prefer Brecourt și îl folosesc mai des. Hermes strălucește la căldură, Brecourt merge, aproape mereu, atât la vreme caldă sau toamna.

What a wonderful smell. The bright metallic bergamot start quickly morphs into a delicious combo of sweet and spicy. The description of cardamom and licorice is true, but there's so much more going on. As the vetiver and ambrosian begin to show, this becomes just flat amazing. I can't stop sniffing my arm. Definitely going on my want list!

First on, I got citrus and spiced wood. Then as it dried, it developed a velvety mate tea note that added smooth depth. Sweet grass and green notes crept in as it went and freshened it up. I really love this one. It morphs, but is never nasty, so the journey is enjoyable at every stage, and it lasts very well.

I don't get any similarities with Declaration as the cardamom note here is pervasive, unlike the cartier masterpiece which cumin also has a prominent role in the fragrance composition. A stronger version of this can be seen in Xerjoff's Golden Dallah.

A very pleasant and well done perfume which last very long.Three sprays in the morning and after 10 hours is still present. Worth the price imo.

Lemon cardamom with licorice amber with a slice of grapefruit. quite spicy and cardamomy more on the amber side.
