Brioni Eau de Parfum

Brioni Eau de Parfum presents an interesting riff on ozonic, ambroxan-heavy fresh "blue" scents. Ordinarily, ambroxan bombs put me off completely, but here, there is enough in the composition that is different from what is typical of this type of fragrance that I find myself intrigued. The star of the show in BEdP is violet in all of its forms. There is a slight floral sweetness in the opening and a note that will be familiar to anyone who has had C. Howard's violet mints or gum (or other violet flavored sweets). In addition to this floral note, there are some green ozonic notes that I associate with violet leaves and stems. There is also a very fast departing appearance from a sweet-tart apple note and some black pepper spice. As the heart notes gradually assert themselves, the ambroxan gets strong and, contemporary men's fragrances being what they are, anyone could be forgiven for awaiting the arrival of the inevitable amber woods. But It is at this point that BEdP confounds expectations and heads in the petrol (gasoline) direction of Fahrenheit. It is also at this point that one is reminded that the partner Brioni chose to help bring this scent to market is Lalique and that, in addition to lovely bottles like the one they have given us here, Lalique has a history of offering quality fragrances that (recently in the house's luxury line) have blurred the distinction between designer and niche. Add to this consideration the further fact that the nose here is Michel Almairac, who created the original Fahrenheit and who has such a strong history of successfully using the tricky ionone elements of the green bits of the violet plant, and the scent of BEdP suddenly makes sense. What we have here is almost a Fahrenheit flanker--fresher, a bit sweeter and without the vanilla and pastry-chef spices that made the original Fahrenheit a challenging scent that even in its day found a fair number of detractors--this has the makings of a hugely popular success. Getting back to the fragrance, once the sharp violet asserts itself in an upswell of ionones, things are almost immediately brought under control by the ambroxan and a healthy dose of Iso-E Super, with its woody, clean musk note. A trace of tonka smoothness that seems almost perfunctory is also here. There is a hint of nutty, grassy vetiver deep in the dry down. The scent progression essentially ends here. The fragrance is a moderate projector but it lingers for more than 10 hours on my skin. While this fragrance embodies lots of traditionally masculine-associated notes, I can imagine women who enjoy robust fresh fragrances wearing this scent. On the right woman, this fragrance, like an appropriately tailored Brioni suit, could be striking and sexy. I suspect that this scent will get suffocating if over applied, so best to test it before locking in your optimal number of sprays. The presentation on this fragrance is appropriate to the esteemed luxury house that markets it. Recalling the Lalique connection, the bottle is heavy and elegant. The glass color could have been taken from the Brioni fabrics range and the label that is glued to the face of that bottle (in a perfectly sized indentation) could have been taken from the inside pocket of one of my newer Brioni suits. Even the cross stitching around this satin label looks like that used on the house's basic suits. The cap is high quality and magnetic. The house 'B' script logo adorns the top of both the cap and the gold tone atomizer. This atomizer allows metered sprays of a fine mist of the juice and as such, is a top quality product. Add it all up--the well crafted and blended fragrance, the lovely presentation and good fragrance performance--and BEdP begins to seem like something of a bargain at the prices for which it is being sold as of this writing. This is the most interesting "blue" fragrance to come around in a good long time. It could easily become a well dressed person's signature, year round fragrance. I can imagine it becoming very successful and heavily hyped by the YouTubers. I am happy to have a bottle of BEdP and think I will wear it often in warmer weather (although I admit I bought it blind based not on the scent notes but rather on good experiences with the house's bespoke and ready-to-wear clothing). Try to get a sniff of this fragrance when the opportunity presents itself. You may just discover a new signature scent or, failing that, a very nice, and distinctive alternative to all of the virtually identical fresh "blue" fragrances out there. Recommended.

A Violet Story. Brioni EDP is a beautiful violet fragrance, period. The violet note dominates the fragrance from start to finish, and all the other notes exist to shape the violet note coming out of that blue bottle. Soft, slightly-powdery, floral violet dominate. Freshened with aquatic ozonic notes, apple, and ambroxan to the point that it smells like violet leaf. The apple and ambroxan also add the slightest of sweetness. And finally, a faint soft, musky, woody base support the violet. A base dominated by cedar wood. Violet, floral, clean, fresh, aquatic, slightly-powdery, lightly woody, lightly-musky, & slightly-spicy. This is Dior Fahrenheit's violet twisted into a modern, classy, suite fragrance. Brioni EDP is really classy. They wanted to create a suite fragrance and they succeeded. I am not a big fan of violet but I do love the comforting scent of Brioni EDP. A mature, neutral weather, masculine wear. Perfect for formal occasions yet works as a cozy home scent, too. I "Love" it and I am enthusiastic to try Brioni EDP Intense, although the vanilla and oud in the EDPI curb my enthusiasm.

I was eager to try this one based on all of the comparison votes to Dior Aqua Fahrenheit and Gucci Pour Homme II - two of my all-time fragrances that have sadly been discontinued. Scent-wise, this Brioni definitely scratches that same itch, although it's not a perfect 1:1 substitute for either of the aforementioned fragrances. It definitely lacks the leather backbone of Fahrenheit and isn't even close to GPH II; no tea or cinnamon notes make that a no-go. However, it smells great in its own right, with the blast of ozonic notes evoking a similar feeling of calm, classy freshness. This is not a complex fragrance whatsoever and I think the lack of a distinct drydown is what keeps it from masterpiece territory. It also has a very polite sillage and probably won't last longer than 4-5 hours for most people. For that reason, I'd say it's best suited for an office environment where you aren't trying to grab anyone's attention - but if you do, it definitely won't offend. Wholeheartedly recommended to anyone who knows they like violet and wouldn't mind something on the softer side.

The smell is fantastic. I absolutely love this. This is like a lite version of Fehrenheit. It has that sweet, almost gassy smell to it. Its a work sexy smell. Its something that smells really tasty. I keep smelling myself every time I have it on. I dont think id like to smell this on a woman, but I can see a few pulling this off incredibly. Its very well done, very modern in terms of the smell. Its very smooth, slightly sweet and alluring. Yet is isnt candy and has a nice deep mystery to it. I can see people doing a double take having smelled this. Im not sure what it is, but I LOVE the scent, yet it doesnt last on me at all. I showered, put this on, asked a few people to smell me about 30 mins later and they had to get right in there to smell it. Maybe I need to give it time, but this is a hidden gem. I hope my scent not lasting is not a problem for everyone. This is a hidden gem in the style of Fehrenheit, its clean and dirty at thesame time. All while wearing a suit and tie. GET IT!

Lovely floral-woody-ozonic fragrance with the violet and ozonic notes doing the heavy lifting in the opening. Violet lasts throughout the life of the fragrance and becomes sheer in the drydown over the quite light cedar/tonka base. This fragrance lasts a full work day on me, although due to the ambroxan (and a high amount of Iso-e Super to my nose) it's easy to go noseblind. I've been complimented on this fragrance 8 hours after applying. Fast becoming my go-to warm weather scent. I don't get the comparisons to Fahrenheit at all. Comparing to my bottle from the 90's - apart from the violet note they share - they are altogether different fragrances. Brioni is fresh, sheer and shines brightest on warm, sunny days. Fahrenheit is broody and leathery with a heavy "gasoline" bite. I haven't smelled the modern version of Fahrenheit, but the original smells nothing like Brioni.

Coming from a 36 year old: I love this scent. It has a charm that lingers on your skin for hours. It IMMEDIATELY took me wayyyyy back and reminded me of: Jeans Couture Man Versace, which I absolutely loved. Lacks silage, and is probably mostly a skin scent. But it is a daily driver that is inoffensive and yet encourages second glances when people are close enough to catch a whiff. Perfect for the everyday wear. UPDATE 12/24: I’m still loving this scent. I sprayed about 7 sprays this evening and at one moment it reminded me of Escada Magnetiusm for men, which if I remember correctly, smelled so unique and wonderful. I looked up Escade Magentisum on Fragnatica and guess what?! THE SAME PERFUMER created both! My mind was 🤯! Anyway, still loving this!

Really enjoying this. I've never smelled Aqua Fahrenheit so I can't fairly compare, but for me it's sort of "office Fahrenheit." The strongest notes I get are a toned down Fahrenheit violet--in between gasoline and ozonic, but cleaner than gasoline--and gentle ambroxan. The violet and ambroxan are still there 12 hours later on the skin. The other notes--pink pepper, cedar, some soapy powder--are there for the first 2-3 hours, complimenting the violet and ambroxan. The ambroxan is somehow much calmer and gentler than Not A Perfume or Another 13 while not being *weaker* than either of those. This is NOT Fahrenheit, but I agree with people saying it's a sort of Fahrenheit flanker.

to my nose this is very ozonic,soft projection green & violet scent. Reminds me of dior fahrenheit. I was a bit surprised that this perfume that have a ghost scent ( sometimes its there sometimes its not ) can project consistently for a very long time, suitable for office scent & outdoor casual as long as its not too hot outside. The other one I tried is eclat, but to my nose its just a weak version of terre de hermes that doesn't even last that long. Love this one, now I'm curious to try the edp intense version.

I entered Brioni boutique in Mayfair London bruton st. for buying a jacket and this smell was everywhere inside the boutique. The weather is so cold and rainy outside so This scent was getting better and better until it’s grabbed my attention, I bought 3 bottles. This is so lovely ozonic ambroxany fragrance, so clean and sexy.

An elegant, soft and beautiful scent, it's a gentleman's perfume. It definitely resembles Fahrenheit and no wonder as Michel Almairac is the master perfumer of both the perfumes. The violet is prominent in Brioni and it is gorgeous in it. Very safe blind buy for daily and office use.

This is a really clean scent with hints of violet. It's good but I wish it was a touch stronger. This is one you will have to overspray a bit and wear during the warmer months. If you want something that is clean, inoffensive and has some class, then this is a good choice.

Brioni EDP is olfactory marvel. Just wonderfully delightful and luxurious, yet easy to wear and head turning at the same time. A very handsome fragrance that smells like royalty and old money gentlemen. Thanks Michel Almairac for this amazing creation!

Sweet but not so much and very sophisticated. For me this Is one of must have and masterpiece!!! My opinion Best From all Brioni's. It Is safe work and everyday banger. Everyone will Ask you what Is this. I will rebuy this for all my lifetime.

I love it. Very well blended scent. Maybe the most clear notes I get are ozonic and violet, but it has more notes, but harder to pinpoint as it is so well blended. It has this Fahrenheit DNA there lurking. Could be signature scent for sure.

Beautiful scent, very similar to Fahrenheit. Imagine a green clean crisp apple that’s been infused with that gasoline Fahrenheit dna. The gasoline note turned down just abit compared to Fahrenheit. This is the best release from Brioni.

Aqua Fahrenheit brother , smooth and modern also it can be formal and casual. It isn’t powerful in terms of silage and projection but it isn’t weak. You should try it. The price is cheap.

Blind bought this a while after doing the same with Intense and was really underwhelmed with this as opposed to how amazed i was by the Intense version. The smell is not as complex, it's performance is not as good and overall, it's just an office friendly fragrance. Wore this the other day though and it gave me a clean vibe throughout the wear. Made me try to understand the scent more in an explorative fashion. The scent is not wow or anything special, but at what it is trying to do, i think it does a really good job. I can see the similarities to Fahrenheit but do not expect anything like that fragrance. This is a violet-ambroxan-musk bomb. The performance is average with 5 hours longevity and 1,5 hours of good projection, and i actually think it is a good thing. This type of scent does not want to have huge performance as it could cause health related hazards for the wearer and the respective surroundings, i can imagine. 7/10 for the elegance

Im not a huge fan of aquatics. That being said i found a bottle of Brioni at my local goodwill for 15 bucks. Id never pass up a deal like that! And honestly, I'm glad i got it! Its classy. Inoffensive. Very fresh and crisp. It really shines on the dry down, though. The cedar, musk and tonka blend so well with the violet. Edit: been wearing this a couple months and it gets tons of complements. While it is a subtle fragrance it has excellent sillage when you spray the right amount. (And it's cheap so don't worry about overspraying) Everyone saying it smells like farenheite has has never smelled another violet dominant fragrance. What your smelling is violet. It actually reminds me of a less feminine D S and Durga Steamed rainbow.

I definitely get a moist bitter violet paired with a tiny subtly sweet note like vanilla (tucked way in the back). To me it smells like a slick purplish-green health smoothie, but in a good way. I could see a comparison to Fahrenheit 32 or Aqua Fahrenheit, but the general effect is drastically different from the original Fahrenheit in my opinion. I don’t find comparisons to Fahrenheit practical at all beyond the fact they share a note and perfumer. Seems pleasant and work safe. At first sniff it smells nondescript but after a while you realize it is subtly unique, it just doesn’t shout. I will say that I’m finding performance (mostly sillage) to be very low. It hums very close to the skin on me. 7.9/10

This is a beast fragrance and it's a good one. The projection is strong and it projects for a very long time 2+ hours. It smells like a fresh pressed suit as others have said, it's elegant the violet on this is strong but in a great way you get the ozonic notes come through as well with a hint of green probably the cedar. It might not be a safe blind buy for everyone because of the violet but for the price it's a great I got a 3.4oz tester bottle for 45$ I could not pass on the offer I love it my wife kind of said it was feminine in a way but I think it's because of that violet. I think it's a great night fragrance maybe going to brunch Smell 6/10 Projection 8/10 Versatility 6/10 Overall Rating 6.5/10

I like it. I wore this then wore some other fragrances like Acqua Di Gio Elixir. Then I got the scent memories for this fragrance. So what I get from this scent is airy Violet/Ozonic notes right through the life of the fragrance. It is nice and inoffensive and a good daily driver for work or whatnot. There is a bit of the farenheit DNA in here but not gasoline just the ozonic notes and violet leaf. It is a nice calming long lasting fragrance.

I received a decant of this. Does not smell like Fahrenheit to me. It's a 2nd cousin, but certainly not a sibling, although my wife who is a fool just said "is that Fahrenheit?" so i feel like a holier than thou fragrance snob now. But seriously, it really isn't that close imo. It's more violety and a bit bitter-sour, esp side by side. The greenness in this one is also more pronounced. I like Fahrenheit significantly more.

Nose Note #215 Dior Fahrenheit? No. It shares something in common, but the similarity is distant. The violet note here is more 'violet'. The violet leaf in Fahrenheit reminds of gasoline or cucumbers. Here there's no gasoline. I haven't tried Fahrenheit Aqua yet though. It's a nice, "serious-looking" fragrance, but not spectacular. The blend of cedar and violet is beautiful.

Blind bought, was not a disappointment, girlfriend loves it, violet pops, oceanic fresh, sweet with a rumbling of dense wood.Very masculine. Lasts a good while and projects pretty nicely too, I ended up buying a second bottle(gf wishes lol). Interested in smelling the intense version in the future. Recommend

Billed as the modern take on Fahrenheit it opens with a very ozonic green apple, gets slightly powdery from the violet in the heart, and then a woody ambroxan mix comes in for a classy, clean finish. It wears pretty light, but is easy to like; I wouldn't pay retail for it though.

The fragrance opens with a boring aquatic note, which initially remains unremarkable, but as it progresses it develops into a pleasant "spray an apple" perfume. Fragrance: 6.5/10, Longevity: 6/10, Sillage: 5/10.

Very soft fragrance, almost unisex. Performance is kind of bad, almost no silage. Smell nice, I wouldn't buy it. I would use it only if I got it as a present.

Brioni EdP is a very interesting fragrance due to its standout violet note that stays with it for the majority of its life. It comes across to me as classy and sophisticated. For a man say 21 and over, it's pretty versatile - all year, day or night. For a young man under 21, would work best for a dressy or formal occasion. Not overly sweet but not dry. Violet done very well for men. And no, it's not like the Fahrenheit OG - not even a hint of gasoline. Brioni EdP is reserved and would be appealing to most. It would make a great office fragrance because it is subtle but would have to be reapplied at noon, if not sooner. Unfortunately, where it falls flat is in its performance. I barely got 5 hours out of it. At the 6 hour mark it was undectable, even with nose to skin. After the first 15 minutes or so, it's a very intimate scent with little projection or sillage. I could live with it being close to the skin but not the poor longevity. A real shame for such a great violet scent.

Ok, so just like Bottega Veneta Pour Homme, Absolute magic and class...But sadly also like Bottega, dismal performance. Very clean, modern masculine scent. Professional on every level, and versatile. I get violet (the clean Prada kind) pepper, and sweet tonka as the main notes. Projects ok at first, but quickly settles to a skin scent an hour or so into things, for me anyhow. Great fragrance, very classy, just wish it was better performance wise.

Pros on this one it’s not a typical blue fragrance. It’s great for work or formal occasions. Smells masculine and pleasant. The cons are all with performance. Mostly a skin scent throughout on me. And while I always don’t need a best mode fragrance for the price and what else is out there you could probably do better. Again very pleasant but probably won’t buy again. 3/5.

The bottle is reminiscent of Cool Water and there's a Cool Water vibe in the fragrance opening. Add a pinch of Santal 33, a dash of Fahrenheit and some tonka bean and musks "à la Armani", that's it. Not bad, but not very original. The fabric label is not as good as shown in the photo, the gold printing is poorly done and some of the letters seem to fade. Too bad.

I’ve been reading the comments on how this is close to Aqua Fahrenheit and I’ll admit there are nuances but still I’ll say it’s not a solid substitute and for the fragrance itself I’m just not liking the quality, it feels stuffy to me like humid day. It’s inexpensive but I think I would just use my money for something better. 6/10

Like others said , violet fragrance , the most modern of the lineup , uni , bad performance , gone in 60 seconds projection and skin scent for 30 minutes . Violet powdery , sweet , maybe could be used to match a dress shirt ( its a light day fragrance , but one you get nose blind to so can't smell past a minute ) .

1994 Dillards called and wants its scent back 🙄. Smells like Fahrenheit and wait, it's the same perfumer that created Fahrenheit. No wonder. If you're blind buying, youve probably smelled Fahrenheit. So go for it if you like that. Smells good but nothing new.

It smells like a mildly sweet watermelon, It is pretty linear. Very long lasting if oversprayed about 15 sprays and good sillage. It becomes cloying after a while, I would say 6.5/10 but good quality fragrance with magnetic cap.

Pleasant enough smell if had any longevity or sillage. I literally used up the sample vial in one day trying to get something out of it. Would not recommend due to performance.

Smells a lot like Another 13 to me. VERY musky scent, if you don’t like musk stay away from this. It smells good, but I could never wear due to how annoying the musk is. Pass.

It was okay when I tried it... Nothing amazing. Sad their fragrances can't be up to par with their suits but perhaps thats why kiton is better.

#1788 in my “Tour de Fragrance” Right off the top: This has nothing whatever to do with Dior “Fahrenheit.” Not remotely. Maison Alhambra “Fortnight” and Fragrance World “Renheit” both also have that “something’s not quite right with these synthetics they’re using” opening, but they at least duplicate the Fahrenheit notes. The violet note is literally the only thing this scent has in common with Fahrenheit. Don’t get suckered! This is my fourth Brioni. “Eclat" and “Intense" are both nothing to write home about but okay for office wear. “Essential" I really disliked. At first sniff I disliked this as well. The rotting apple smell is not helping. As it dried down it improved to smell like that $1.25 “XtraCare” shaving cream they sell at “Dollar Tree”, which I would totally shave with as my experience is one shaving foam is pretty much as good as the next, and it’s only on my face for five minutes. But I’m a lot more picky about what I am willing to smell like all day, and I’ve tried $10 scents I liked better than this. Good Luck and Good Hunting!

Opening: Ozonic green apple shower gel w/ a lite breezy violet touch. Performance strength is on par w/ an eau de cologne formulation. Honestly it’s one of THE lightest scents I’ve ever used & im ok with h that.. But mannn does the opening smell delightful! Mid: 20 min in apple is gone & I get the GPH ll vibe- minus the cinnamon. Dry down : is Givenchy Gentleman Cologne.. & this is where I loose interest, I already have both those fragrances, it’s redundant!

Very soapy. Smells like someone dropped a tonka bean in a bucket of dishwashing liquid.
