The King Princess (Царь Девица)

Blind buy, Fleu d'issey and then etro etra are my signature scents, so I was willing to try anything that's even remotely reminiscent of them. Upon the first spritz, it's very strong and way too floral compared to etra, the distant similarity is definitely there but because of the different proportions it feels like very much its own thing. I was a bit upset about the opening - very loud and screaming feminine (i'm more used to very traditionally unisex scents) - but something about it kept me wanting to continue smelling it, and so i did - and o boy, after about 20 minutes, i'm confident this is something i'll have in my collection for my entire life. it feels like the true classic feminine perfume to me, there's something very familiar about it, as if my mother had stolen it from my grandmother and kept wearing it until eventually I stole it from her. A feeling of inheritance, of belonging and confidence. This is honestly the first time I am speaking of a scent in these terms. After it dries down, it becomes much more close to skin and much more subtle - which is I'm guessing why the russian reviews about it complain that the silage isn't there- to me, it very much is, and i am happy it doesn't stay the same loudness it is when you first spritz it. after it dries down, more of a similarity to etra for sure, slightly more magnolia, but it's not offensive - and again, that's coming from a person who generally hates perfumes marketed as womens'. a love at second sight! for the price, definitely happy to add it to my wardrobe. i actually think i love it even more for being cheap - to me, there's a charm to it.

Borcard are so good at creating a wearable and quality perfume at a great price. I've tried all the scents in this Princess range and this is definitely my fave. It's warm and spicy and on clothing that fizzy spice lingers all day. The dry down is cosy and warm. Autumn in a beautiful bottle

So the story behind this is called The Little Humpbacked Horse. Tzar-Lady was a trophy for an old king and who got kidnapped by the main hero. But she outsmarted the old dude by making him jump into the pot full of boiling milk. He was sure that it will make him young again. So the girl got spice, girl got milk. I was pretty sure it will be wild on black pepper, I love pepper. And with smooth milky sandalwood. But it is very airy and light, very much in the style of Lanvin`s Oxygene pour Femme. I feel more bergamot than spice. Sandalwood is on salty-musky side, not milky. Some florals or whatnot. Great story, great packaging, but, guurl, that`s aint you. Maybe you are better in pure perfume form?
