Prima T – Pure Essence

BRUNO ACAMPORA PRIMA T This stuff is insane! Seriously, I'm taken aback. This is the real deal, old school perfumery being made like it's still 1925. Smelling this, it's like ol' Bruno must be saying "IFRA SHMIFFRA!" It's so animalic and indolic that the cat came running to investigate with a concerned look. This is an old school musky floral chypre loaded with galbanum, and it smells completely raw and natural. NOTHING about this perfume smells synthetic. I really can't get over how truly vintage this smells. It's so "stinky" I can see how some might run screaming. But for me, it's just plain old amazing. I have a tiny bottle with only a few mls but I'm going to treasure this like there is no tomorrow.

Retro, slightly bitter chypre with a serious glug of grassy galbanum overlaid with sweeter, more gentle flowers. I'm not a classic chypres fan and this one's certainly characteristic of the genre - yet I can get along with Prima T just fine, if not to begin actively loving it. The oil formulation might be helping mellow it out a little maybe? This sort of mix is often too acerbic, or overlaid with aldehydes, meaning I just can't deal ... whereas this is certainly softer and more agreeable. Not strikingly weird or full of bizarre character, but still reasonably individual and kinder to my nose than many in its class. Very femme, very brisk, very 1940s. Makes me think of Angela Lansbury in her prime.

It's been impossible for me to get a larger vintage bottle of No. 19 Chanel, I've tried buying a couple online and they turned up as shiny well packaged fakes. So far I've only had success getting tiny 4 ml bottles and carded samples from the 80's. Prima T has all the galbanum and dirty glamour of the OG Chanel 19 formula. One of my best finds of my life. Super bonus, just dab and it lasts for hours, it's super potent formula is vintage perfume gold. I love the aluminum corked bottle, the chrome finish on the bottle appeals to the magpie eye. It's both vintage and modern, which equals classic.
