Young Hearts – Eau de Parfum

One of the most potent florals available. Blind bought, I was surprised at the scent, the reviews completely throwing me off as well as the note table in my interpretation. So, I struggle with strong florals let alone a predominantly Jasmine which is for me about as bad as it can get as it tends to give me headaches and unsettle me. This is what this is, however it is so well built and amazing in longevity and sillage I find I push past my initial discomfort to wear it - in fact there are days where I just look forward to putting it on - only Lubin Attique can make me do that being a Jasmine and Fig. So, firstly, comparisons to Enchanted Forest are misleading other than the slightly urinic jasmine in its longer dry down. This is a slightly camphorous initial start with a touch of green crushed stalk, galbanum with a dustiness(like a vacuum cleaner bag) that morphs into a strong white/yellow floral predominately Jasmine bodied out by some fleshy rose mixed with slight balsamic syrup - this giving a pollen like presentation. Behind this it softens slightly going darker and the saffron becomes I guess the joint facilitator really making itself known until the end - I found that at this point you realise the saffron has always been there - strange it’s listed as a top note. Whilst it’s by no means a ladies only scent I think you have to be a confident man to wear this and I wouldn’t wear it except in a casual circumstance - not so much because it may just err on the femine side (I’m reinforcing the JUST part here) but more so because it’s VERY in your face. So, I voted it also as good value because it only requires smaller application than normal. Happy Smelling

Most of the time I find the descriptor "Enchanted Forest" to be an unhelpful one. Why exactly is the forest enchanted? The explanation is usually left to reader's imagination in most reviews, but Young Hearts is the first perfume where that description resonates with me. Big bergamot and birch to start with, but the bitter greenery of galbanum and pine catch up soon enough. Seeping through the foliage is a white blob of musks greedily feeding on the surrounding flora. The blob is white floral, but also a bit on the sweeter bubble-gummy side. As the blob assimilates the greenness I picture pine trees leaking an alien resin. Spiders weaving bubblegum webs, and undiscovered white flowers. The galbanum and pine calm down as (slowly but surely) a pink rose pushes through the white blob. The rose turns warmer with patchouli as the fragrance dries down with an animalic overtone that reminds me of Delphine Thierry's Montecristo. Perhaps a tad of hyraceum, or maybe it's the tail-end of the white florals delivering some skank, but it has a similar furry, balmy, and woody warmth that Montecristo delivers in spades. Pine often feels bristly in perfumes. Young Hearts manages to sidestep this by including more of the forest, even if the forest is an enchanted one. Thick layers of sweetened conceptual white florals substitute a resinous base for the pine and galbanum, both of which are also laid on thick. It might not strike me as a chypre (it's far too endearing to be one), but it does have my favourite use of pine I've encountered so far.

I collect parfum samples from along my childhood..I am a niche parfum fun at all. I smelled 1000 parfum samples from every parfum house and I totally can say, this fragrance is the most extraordinary and most unusual.I belive it deserved the Olfattory award winner 1st place. Smelling this parfume is a journey, an experience and a travel.I dont use this parfume, but I always spray a little amount it onto a paper and take down to my table next to me, for enjoy and feeling this fresh, crunchy, green smell.It gives me energy, power and something beautiful.I am honest this scent.Really a wonder!!

Nice green scent with balsam fir and pine making it a very Forest scent. Award winning and deservedly so. This is great for all occasions. After drydown the saffron and floral peek their head out. Blind bought with no regrets.

Dark woody chypre, with a lot of bitter green & soft floral notes, great resinous-balsamic depth & surprisingly large volume. The best Matos scent I have ever come across!

That bitter galbanum in the opening is a CHOICE, and I don’t think it’s for me but I almost like it? It’s truly a very masculine scent to my nose (pretty sure my late father wore a cologne that smelled just like this) but there are some pretty undertones of the florals when smelling this that make it nice! Not for me, not blind buy worthy, but a good sample I will keep around. Doubt I’ll ever, EVER wear it but it’ll simply be there whenever I want to smell “the confusing one” again.

Bruno Acampora took me on a little trip, this time to the forest and it was nice it wasn ́t amazing but it was very pleasant, very fresh Italian way don't expect oceanic anything here, fresh in the sense that it is very green you can almost feel the greenery, it leans masculine and sillage is killer, dry-down is spicy not overwhelmingly but spicy enough and it's nice....... did I say it ́s nice? like a nice walk in the forest

I was so excited about Young Hearts but unfortunately it's very floral on my skin, strong jasmine and rose and not the pine, forest, green notes I was hoping for. It's still a nice scent, the floral side reminds me of a small cottage in the south of France and there is a slight "greenness" to it that makes it feel like you're in a fresh flower garden.

I don't find this to be unisex at all. It's more so this green, masculine, lumber jackman in the forest mid-morning kinda vibe. More so an outdoorsy men's scent, but that's just my opinion. I like the smell, but obviously not on me.

Young Hearts sounded so promising to me, from its concept to its notes pyramid, a fierce green conifer-forward chypre. This would completely suit my style. However, upon sampling it, something seemed rather imbalanced, feeling more like a cacophony of disparate elements rather than a cohesive perfume. It seems as if the jasmine accord doesn't harmonize well with the more forward terpenic, camphorous aspects, resulting in something rather unsettling. I can't get past this dissonance, which can best be described as if one were to put two flavors together in cuisine that do not compliment each other very well. That is not to say, pine/conifer cannot work well with jasmine; this has been proven in classics such as EL Aliage, Aramis Devin, Dior Jules, Shiseido Inoui. I just feel as though the "impasto" approach to this composition does a disservice to the oxygen of its respective accords. It just falls short of being enjoyable to me, sadly.
