Elysium

I smell a ylang note in this perfume while it is not listed in its notes. Its a bit sharp. It has also a citrus note I think it is the petit grain and orange. The dry down I prefer better.It gets a bit soapy like some jasmine soap. Its nice if you like soapy perfumes

Elysium is actually quite a nice, relatively inoffensive one from Bud Parfums (I was trying some really foody perfumes from Bud and felt quite sick). It is citrusy, starts with some quasi-cologne clean, kinda sheer smell which I get from old fashioned cologne like 4711. Then it turns into something slightly thicker, sweeter, foody with citrusy hint, something like rice cake in citrusy flavour. It was a bit hard to accept in the beginning of this phase, somehow I was inhaling particles, it felt really solid there, rather than the conventional lightness a scent normally smells to me. However, this phase passed really fast, and left this cosy, foody yet somewhat refreshing citrusy smell. Somewhere along the foody citrusy way (but never being sugary or gourmand as in nowaday’s gourmand sweet perfumes), a white soap smell emerges every now and then, it’s quite discreet, makes me feel clean, nature, and somewhat nostalgic—thinking about summer days in grandparents’ place after playing outside, washing my hands with white soap, when the sunlight shines through the window, when everything’s nice, lively, fresh, and full of energy. Sometimes white soap smell might go more floral (jasmine, musk combo), and it gives me a headache, or it might go aldehyde, and too much of aldehyde makes me nauseous too. Good thing is, the soap smell here doesn’t give me a headache. I’m not normally a citrusy person, but I’m surprisingly happy with this one, recommend to citrusy lovers who wants something less sparkling and more nature.
