Burberry Brit for Men

I BEG YOUR PARDON I (NEVER) PROMISED A ROSE GARDEN I am far from being a strong lover of a heavy rose perfume (😁 unless it's a dark smoky rose). Yet, with Burberry Brit, I have liked its rose scent since the first whiff, maybe because the rose note is somewhat noble, probably a British aristocratic rose. The opening starts with a fair amount of perennial citrus spiced by green cardamom - Nice but common! The heart bursts with a noticeable powdery dark wild rose. This accord is particularly alluring and enjoyable. The fragrance becomes a bit unisex with this scent although the woody and spicy frame around it keeps the necessary masculine vibe. The alluring rose still reigns in the bottom phase, but you can feel added sweetness in the scent, together with some muskiness and bolder woody notes. During the dry down you still get a very pleasant dark rose, together with a sweet and woody accord, but not really for a long time - longevity up to 6~7 hours. With 3 sprays, It projects fairly for one hour up to a 3~4 feet radius. It is quite elegant but also reasonably discrete. It still surprises me how much I like this rose scent. For not geting wrong conclusions, I felt I had to ask external opinions to better understand this fragrance footprint. 3 women aged 23, 32 an 55 years old, confirmed to me that it was a very sexy perfume, very agreeable on men and not really feminine despite the floral strong bias. One opinion was funny: "It smells like a Coco Chanel perfume for men". All my three female testers agreed on liking to smell it on a man in almost any situation but especially in leisure situations at home. 3 men aged 23, 33 and 56 really enjoyed trying this perfume but confessed that they wouldn't buy it if Burberry Brit was their only fragrance. For a ‘one bottle for all occasions’ cologne, they would prefer something more masculine and less discreet. However, they all recognised that Burberry Brit is very suitable for dining out, or as a perfume for the office, or even for everyday use. I reached the conclusion that this scent is versatile, pleases both genders, it's kind of sexy when women smell it on a man, and pleasing but not manly if a man smells it on himself. It's fair enough. I still keep my own impression of being a very versatile, unique and alluring scent when I wear it. You will smell elegant, clean, fresh and maybe sexy for some of the ladies) - Uniqueness: 9.0 (just similar to its flankers) - Quality: 8.0 (nice quality ingredients; nice glass bottle; good spray) - Presentation: 8.5 (beautiful Burberry patern all over the bottle. I own the version sold prior to the one in the Parfumo Burberry Brit page) - Price: 9.0 (€ 20.0 for a 100 ml tester flask) ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ - Average: 8.11/10.00 between 7 and 8 => above average; between 8 and 9 => recommended; equal or bigger than 9 => don't miss it; My opinion on "Burberry Brit": Rose scent lovers should not miss this perfume. It is subtle yet pleasant. Recommended? Yes provided you are confortable with an "unisex rose scent". Blind buy worthy? No! Do try it before. Basically, Brit is a combination of four accords: Ginger, Rose, Powder, and Spices (Cardamom in particular). Of course there are other notes, but these four are the ones that are the major players. For me, I never quite know which of these four "actors" will play the leading role any given time I wear Brit. There are times when I find the effervescent ginger (and citrus) at the opening the standout performer. Other times, I most notice a very realistic rose note-- almost like I am wearing a fresh rose in my lapel. Many times, the fragrance mostly offers a range of spices that, for some reason, always seem pensive to me-- like something best suited to a dreary day of November rain. But then again, Brit sometimes only offers a rather flat, sweet talcum powder aroma. Of the fragrances I own, this one is, perhaps, the greatest chameleon-- which is strange because it is a pretty simple fragrance. Nevertheless, each time I wear it, it offers a different experience, and I am not sure what produces the change. I think one word always characterizes Brit -- classy. The picture Brit evokes (to me, anyway) is that of an older gentleman on a date. He has used powder and a spiced aftershave to get ready, and he has roses for his lady. As for season/occasion, I think Brit is a fantastic autumn fragrance. It would be fine for the winter too, but it is made for those drizzly days before the winter weather really sets in. I think it is sweet and soft enough for a date (especially if you are on the other side of 35 years old), but it is also light enough and gentlemanly enough for a fall/winter work fragrance. It is not built for parties or the club (honestly, I think Brit would be offended if you took it to a club). The performance is kind of the downside. I haven't timed it out, but Brit is certainly not an "all day" fragrance, and it does not exactly roar off the skin. Again, it is a gentlemanly fragrance, not a dance club show stopper. I would note that, back in the early 2000's, I asked my wife to pick out a fragrance for me to be my signature scent-- something I could wear and always know that she liked what I was wearing-- something she thought was "me." She chose Burberry Brit. And, if she thinks Brit is a reflection of me (warm, gentlemanly, with touch of a "sweet side"), I feel pretty good about that.

This fragrance is a hidden gem. Yes, it could be seen as a "mid" fragrance, but I think its deserves more appreciation than that. I got this fragrance as a gift for christmas a few years ago and it will stay close to my heart for a long time. The opening is amazing with a strong, fresh and sophisticated ginger mixed with cardamom and citrus notes. Once it dries down a bit, you get a feel for the rose and powdery notes that to some, may be seen as feminine, which is true in a sense, but burberry does a great job making this work well for men. Its a very cozy, smooth, sexy fragrance that was also rated by women as one of the sexiest fragrances for men to wear. The only drawbacks of this fragrance is the very average performance and longevity. I find it only lasts about 4-5 hours on my skin and about 6-7 on clothes. The projection isnt great either, only projecting for about 1-2 hours before becoming a small scent bubble around you, but this is a great scent for a date night on a cold and cozy winter evening. I find this also works for school or the office as its pretty inoffensive and tame and overall very mass appealing. The best part of this fragrance however, is the price tag. I think a 100ml bottles goes for around $120 in retail stores, but you can buy this on amazon or other places for about $90 or cheaper. If your looking for something smooth, warm, spicy and sophisticated, this is a great option for you. Overall, I gibve this a 7/10, and it would be higher if the longevity and performance were a bit better. Thanks for reading, hope you have a great day!

Burberry Brit for Men Burberry Brit (in short it's known as BB) is a very affordable and inexpensive perfume that debuted almost 2 decades ago and in 2005 won FiFi Award Fragrance Of The Year Men`s Luxe 2005. Almost a classic but underrated definitely. It opens with some heavy use of ginger, cardamon and cirtrus and is warm spicy and peppery, at the same time the opening seems more linear as the heart notes of powdery rose and woodiness, especially heavy use of cedarwood are there too and it includes muskiness and sweet tonka. However, the mass appeal designers dna/vibe is there after the initial sprays. It doesn't smell niche but it doesn't smell cheap either. So in general, it's a warm spicy rose cedar scent. Performance wise it has moderate projectivity and silage, lasts about 5-7 hours depending on weather conditions. The good thing is once this settles on the skin after 10-20 minutes, it is rather subtle despite the initial opening being rather loud and overwhelming so you can put in more sprays and wait for it to settle. After it settles, you'll be having a lovely beautiful rose, cedar and tonka with some spiciness. Burberry Brit isn't worn by many so wearing this you are sure to smell different out there. It's suitable for all weather and all settings. That said, get past that initial sweetish loud mass appeal designers opening and you have a very quality underrated beautiful rose cedar combo with a lovely sexy drydown. An inexpensive bottle that every man should try to have in their perfume inventory.

I consider this one of the best designer scents of the post-Cool-Water era, really standing out from the sea of acquatic boredom and in-your-face artificiality. Burberry Brit has a very clear agenda and fulfills it brilliantly: to build a bridge between the classic British fragrance tradition and an appealing contemporary image, which is of course precisely what the Burberry brand is aiming at fashion-wise. What we get, then, is the citrus top and powdery rose-based florals reminiscent of Floris No. 89 and many other classics, with some modern oriental spice - ginger, nutmeg, cardamom - and a tonka sweetness imaginable only after the "sweetness fo men revolution" of the 1990s that gave us Le Male (1999), Pi (1999) or Jaipur (1997). What Anton Maisondieu has masterfully achieved is to seamlessly blend these concepts into a harmonious composition, in which all the parts balance each other out wonderfully. Admittedly, men who generally do not enjoy powdery sweet florals will not be enchanted by Burberry Brit, though this is a far more accessible and better constructed fragrance than the ones mentioned above - of which I personally only find Jaipur wearable, though much less interesting than Brit. Brit is a comfortable scent with a rich lineage, presenting itself in modern garb, yet avoiding the synthetic shrillness of so many of its contemporaries. An aristocat with the refined breeding of his ancestors, yet not beyond working for a living, and perfectly comfortable in the popular culture of the 21st century.

Beautiful scent, I find this would excel as a nighttime/fall and winter scent. It’s delectable and mature. This is not a run of the mill fragrance, and young men will probably find it too powdery. I absolutely love it, it just reeks of class and sophistication, while staying contemporary and fresh/spicy, balanced out by the deep, powdery wild rose, it’s not offensive or dated, but definitely a mature and sophisticated, gorgeous scent. Just try it out before you buy it, it’s very unique and it’s sweet yet spicy, powdery yet fresh. I normally would not consider myself liking a powdery scent but damn, this one is just good, kind of a nostalgic barbershop scent (but not cheap and dated). I definitely feel Mr. Burberry is more versatile, yet Brit is much better for nights and cooler weather, it truly is a very comforting, nostalgic, relaxing scent! All in all I find Brit to be a fantastic offering, and to me this is the definition of a barber shop scent, as it’s very, very powdery... yet still sexy and mysterious. It’s very unique and that gets extra points as well. 8/10 , just a bit too powdery, but very good, I love rose ...

One of the first fragrances I ever bought. I don't wear it as much anymore, but when I do, it STILL evokes compliments... more than I would expect, and more than a lot of my other fragrances. Maybe it just agrees with my skin, but this is a very classy scent. It reminds me a lot of Voyage d'Hermes... I'd say it's 90% similar, except for some divergence in the drydown. I’ve changed my view of Burberry Brit over time. Previously, I saw this exclusively as a winter fragrance. But after trying Voyage d’Hermes, I now see Burberry Brit as a multi-season type of scent in that same vein – you could wear this almost any season and smell classy, except perhaps in very hot summer weather. There’s actually a decent amount of brightness to it with the ginger and florals, and being an EDT, it's not overly heavy. It's a lot more versatile than I thought. PS – The whole "baby powder" thing is not an issue for me. I think that's overblown by some folks on here. This is a nicely-composed fragrance. There's a reason it's still around, 20+ years down the road. And for the price, it's an absolute steal.

Awesome winter smell. Wtf is wrong with some of you people, this dosnt smell anything like bug spray! did you even let it dry down? Really good classic spicy/woodypeppery smell. Its a bit sweet and it is pretty spicy/powdery so dont over spray. I finally bought this after years of wanting this. I remember a buddy of mine was wearing this in winter, i smelled it from 10 feet away and was like holy crap what smells so damn good. Even though im more of a fresh/casual/summer scent kind of guy im really enjoy this formal/winter, more so than armani's code actually. Found this super cheap at target btw. Got it for 35, which is awesome compared to macy's 70-80 dollar price tag, How the hell does Macy's charge so damn much? PS. This may sound strange, but to me this smells like a modernized, updated interpretation of old spice original. The most recognizable note in this one is cedar, which makes it very masculine. My only gripe is that i feel this dosnt project. Just a scent for close encounters.

I don't know what this says about the fragrance, but I, a female, remember my brother wearing this for maybe a year during college (when we were roommates). At the time, I liked it, and I remember thinking that I wanted it too. Now, about 15 years later, I finally do! At the time (2007/8), I was really into With Love by Hilary Duff (sweet, woody, warm spicy), Stelly by Stella McCartney (fresh yet ambery rose), and Lolita Lempicka by Lolita Lempicka (sweet green magical fairy powder). Now that I think about it, it makes sense that I like this one too, especially after the zingy freshness of the top notes settle down a little. If anyone likes at least two of the fragrances I mentioned for the reasons that I highlighted, don't hesitate to pick this cheapie up for yourself. Or, if you're looking to buy a gift for someone and you know they like the fragrances I mentioned, maybe they'll like this one too!

Burberry with it's "cheapish" squared bottles and such. Boring and uninspired bottle, good sprayer, yeah yeah.. This smells British. Like if I bottled a British smell, here you go. I don't mean that as a slight. It smells gentlemanly. Living in a tropical American climate, I long for days of a coat, where this would be amazing. Powdery rose but not realistic, a laundry type of powdery rose. Normally that's a horrible "no"... But here, it's so pleasant, even sexy. Clean, powdery with a hint of mystery. This is a great scent and it's easy to see why Burberry has opted to keep it around. Since I have smelled this one, I've been looking for a masculine, powdery rose like it. No luck. Burberry Brit is unique and very romantic. Performance is okay. 4-5 hours. It is a very linear scent, which is fine. It smells great. All ages. Casual, romantic. just wish I could find a good alternative.

Burberry Brit for Men is greatly underrated. It's powdery & woodsy but also fresh... it's one of my first fragrances I ever purchased as a young adult. It's DNA leans older but not much, late 20s and up... my only issue is the change in formula, while not official reformulated, after the bottle went from Tartan to Argyle, the powder aspect increased and the woody undertones felt cut in half... like many fragrances that are nearing 20 plus... many were changed due to certain chemical ingredients being banned.... Burberry Brit 10 plus years ago was an easy 10/10, now it's a solid 8 ... the rose is deceptive because it's hidden in powder & wood.... this scent is underrated and I think more men should try it... especially for price point BUT I see why it's not, because Burberry Touch exist and to me, that's more versatile & makes powder scents youthful & fresh in its presentation

I used to believe, in my naivety, that women should only wear perfumes meant for women. I know better now of course. Which is why when the husband refused to wear this one (not a fan of Tonka bean) I happily swooped it up. I think it is unisex enough for a woman to wear - not that I care. I would wear it even if it wasn’t just because it smells so good. Burberry Brit for Him somehow reminds me of being in love during college and how I’d have wanted my boyfriend to smell this way. I somehow see this as a young perfume, the kind a young guy would wear on a date. I’d have loved for my clothes to smell like this after coming back from a date as a young girl. It starts off crisp and fresh but settles into a comfortable woody sweetness that I find so, so sexy. Overall not exactly a trend breaker but definitely worth having in your collection.

I've always been curious about this one, but I knew it had a lot of rose. I like rose--but only in moderation. So, I was hoping that the rose, even though listed as being one of the most prominent notes, wouldn't be overwhelming. I wasn't disappointed... This is excellent. Many say they get only baby powder, but that was definitely not the first thing that came to mind when I smelled it. While it absolutely is a powdery scent, the citrus and ginger give it some zing, and the other notes (spices, woods and musk) round out the scent to make it versatile and clean and, in my book, signature-scent-worthy. Again, I get so excited when I find a frag this is not only good but inexpensive and uncommon as well. This fits that description to a tee. You can find 100 mL testers for under $30 at the time of this review.

This has been my signature scent since 2004. Been through several bottles. Very metrosexual, but a pleasing floral scent fit for a true gentleman. A bit powdery, but not overly feminine. My most recent bottle was made in Germany by Coty. To me it seems different.. more alcohol on the opening, eh longevity.. but I will allow it to sit in the cupboard and steep before I abandon all hope that one of my most beloved fragrances has been lost forever. I miss the original plaid bottle design too. My 2015 bottle made in France (new bottle design) still has a few mils left in it..seems like it has more depth, class and longevity. I ordered a vintage bottle off eBay mostly for old times sake. But I will test and see which one I prefer.

Rose, spices and tonka stand out.

Burberry Brit Revisited, some time ago when I was madly in love with Burberry, I had Burberry Brit Summer Edition wich is more citrusy and brighter version of original. Now I have classic version, there is something that strongly reminds me about English Earl Grey, spicy, aromatic, maybe it's not best quality perfume, but nice, inoffensive, elegant and timeless and... I'am quite sentimental about it and about Burberry even if it is different brand now. Classic perfumes from this house are really good wich I can't say about Mr. Burberry... I know that Burberry Her isn't groundbreaking or high quality, but again it is pleasant perfume.

Cant believe it's not rated 4 or above. This is the epitome of a gorgeous, elegant scent for young gentlemen. The drydown is better than Touch. The rose really keeps the powder woodiness of this from smelling like a dusty cabinet, which honestly, sorta my gripe with Touch about 2 hours into its drydown. I can see why people would shy away from this. When we hear of rose note, we don't immediately think of men's fragrance. But the powder, woods, drizzled with rose makes this for a young gentleman vibe who's not racist, not a jerk, well educated type of guy. I'll say it again. Two words. Gorgeous and Elegant.

A big favorite of mine. For myself, I really love a men's fragrance with significant rose accord, and since most of those are oud-based, this is a refreshing departure. Admittedly, that accord can push this frag in a feminine direction, but pretty much every other aspect of this fragrance is decidedly masculine. I must also admit, that like most mid-tier designer houses, reformulated bottles found at Marshall's or Ross don't have all of the quality of the original. But it's close enough in scent, and cheap enough per ml, that I can still get the same if not better value for the dollar. Recommended! 9/10

I love this as compared to the older formulation, I was surprised when I smelled this. It is a little more on the sweeter side and has a nice start-mid-finish. More of a complex scent and smells very natural and not a blast of alcohol in the beginning at all. Anytime or anyplace, but in hotter weather I would suggest nighttime or air conditioning. Little better than average performance, but I find this true with most Burberry. So if you buy this it is a new reformulation, for me better, but I would say try before you buy. So I must have the older one mine is made in France.

I’ve worn this since it’s inception in 2004. Now, the original formulation was indeed of better quality. I still love the current but it isn’t quite as good or long lasting. The original would, when you caught a slight breeze, signal a beautiful powdered rose when dried throughout the day just to remind you it was still there. At its best as a companion under melton wool outerwear on a cold wet gloomy day. This has a nice complexity and depth to it. Of course it holds a sentimental value for me so I love it and still come back to wearing it in season, every season.
