Paris Minuit

Love at first sniff. I would say it’s a perfect balance between Safanad (perfumes de Marly) and original Givenchy Amarige. Very stylish classical Parisian seductress! FBW just to add that despite being categorised as “white” and “yellow” floral this one does not repulse with overbearing sweetness. The bouquet is very well rounded and has no any particular sharp explicit note. The creator masterfully drew a bottom line at Amber - indeed “all notes here lead to Amber”.

Smells very parisian, very elegant and timeless. I can see a painter's model at Montmartre smelling like this in the 1820ies, a French woman in a Charleston dress wearing this to go out at night in the 1920ies, but also a chic lady walking down the Champs Elisée on a sunny autumn day in the 2020ies.

Paris Minuit refers to Paris at Midnight, however I’m not getting that vision at all. There’s something in here I don’t get along with, I’m not sure what it is but it feels sharp and sour whilst also being thick and rubbery. Sometimes variations of ylang can come across in this way from my experience, so perhaps it’s that. This is a scent dominated by ylang, which usually I am a big lover of but not here which is a shame to say. There’s a sweet sharpness running through the florals from orange blossom, mandarin and a hefty dose of pink pepper which feels like a clash with the ylang in my opinion. Burdin have got some really pleasant scents, none of them so far have wowed me but they’re all fragrances I would be happy to wear. Not this one though, I just can’t seem to get past that sour rubbery aspect unfortunately.

Very opulent, white floral. Heavy in the ylang and gardenia (not the fresh green one, rather the sweet tuberose like one). Hedgy and sweet, i swear I can smell honey in it. It's not bad but i am not sold. Good sillage but poor longevity (2 hours, unless you overspray). Feminine and opulent, but not original nor ground breaking, I don't consider it worth the 150 euros / bottle they charge. Luckily i only got a sample. A huge pass.
