Bvlgari Man In Black Eau de Parfum Intense

A dirty version of MiB, if you wish. More masculine. To generalize the impression first thing that should be mentioned is that this flanker has more "body", i.e. is less watery and lightly sweet than the original and every note has more weight in it. I would exactly use the word 'weight' instead of the word 'pronounced', and in that choice the fact that this is another batch, another bottling, concentration is higher plays not the last role - this perfume is close to the original but not the 100% same. Sillage is stronger (by ~20%). Also, it stays noticeable longer on the skin. It stars with almost no rum but a lot of strong spices (black pepper leading) that can literally tickle your nose, if you get it close enough to the skin. What gets noticed along with the spices is tobacco (that also mentioned on the official site but not here). Smoky wood cuts through this thick cloud to get your attention and surprise you - that's where more depth is coming from. You don't feel much booze or sweetness. In fact the closer it gets to the end of the first hour, the stronger are tidal waves and more often they change one another, so from time to time you get the next stage as strong as the first chord and then you're back again to the opening. After first hour is up the heart settles in through sexy and a tad creamy sweetness that finally comes strongly into the chord (sexier than in the original I'd say) and stays there along with smoky rummy wood - this is infamously love-or-hate-known tuberose doing its job and iris hiding in its shadow to remain there for ever. Benzoin resin being one of the sorts of incense adds to this chord that oriental-like vibe that original MiB is so loved for. This is the chord that resounds for circa 5 hours from just one application. By the beginning of the 7-th hour perfume has lost almost all its notes and now what is pronounced are noticeably bitter - because of the concentration - and a tad synthetic - also because of the contentration - tonka beans from the base, still projecting well enough to be recognized from ~15cm.

Given this as a gift from my husband when it came out (I loved all Bvlgari by this point). Very strong, very long lasting, lasting all day. Would wear this lightly for work and heavier going out. This was my going out somewhere nice fragrance. Often received compliments. I would not have bought this myself for the price, but I was incredibly happy someone bought it for me as it may be my favourite fragrance. I'd love to get my hands on some more. It's very dark, very spicy and though strong it's very well balanced, it's rich and complex (one of the reasons I think it's so good is people want to keep smelling it), but also not screechy or over powering, no synthetic notes I could pick up. You can wear less and not be missing anything and wear more simply for a bigger cloud. I used it a lot but it lasted a long time because I didn't beast it. I think it may have spoiled me because I've bought other supposed "beast mode" fragances since and am usually underwhelmed.

Not my absolute favorite but a sure compliment getter. I have been told more than once that I smell like a man should smell by multiple women... maybe they all know each other? I don't really care because I love the way this juice smells. spicy, woody aromatic, resinous, leather. Ah, it does smell bold and assertive like a man ought to be. It is also refined and sophisticated; really the amazing thing to me is how cheap it is!

Spicier and more intense compared to the original, not as sweet even after the drydown. This really differentiate it from Spicebomb (2012-13 batch). In a hot and humid weather, it lasted about 7 hours on my skin and in a controlled climate about 10 hours. Projection is a solid 4 hours. My top favorite is the MIB All Blacks followed by the Essence, Black Orient and original MIB. Fully recommended!
