Bvlgari Man Wood Neroli

Blind buy, partly motivated by the fact that I like the restraint and relative simplicity of many Morillas scents and that I have some positive experience of Bvlgari, and Morillas's work with the house. Wore it yesterday, as the one Englishman in a typically seedy Scottish pub (open early), to watch the Lionesses beat the Matildas to reach the final of the FIFA Women's World Cup. (Sorry, Matildas. Well played.) It was set to be a clear, moderately warm summer's day, and I wanted a fragrance that was fresh and summery but wouldn't draw the ridicule that Scots understandably love to heap on us English. I ended up choosing this over a fair few other options, because it was obviously fresh and smelt clean and professional on the air without being a one-dimensional lemon sherbet freshie (and anyway it was new). So far, although, yes, the spray nozzle feels fragile, I really like this. It has plenty of lean Mediterranean-style citrus and, although I'm not a big fan of aquatics, I do like a good ambergris accord--why I almost wore Issey Intense instead--and the one here really appeals to me. I get why some people might find it out of place here, but it is not a heavy or dirty ambergris and I find it works very well in underpinning the citrus with a different kind of freshness or marine tang that to me does not seem out of place in a fragrance that is very obviously Mediterranean (semi-barbershop) in style. I haven't yet discerned a whole lot of other individual notes (except maybe the soft musk) in this but I'm fine with that, as it's a typical Morillas fragrance in the respect that, while the other notes are doubtless there--this does smell woody too and is no thin, toppy citrus bomb--pretty much everything is done in moderation so the user wears the fragrance and not vice versa. Performance, or at any rate sillage, is moderate--again, that's often how Morillas rolls--and I chose to mist (not squirt) my T-shirt with this once, and to walk through a mist of it on the air a couple of times before putting on the T-shirt. (If this is a level of restraint alien to you--if you're the kind of user inclined to spray yourself directly, liberally, until the swarthy chest hair medallion guy down the street screams at you or has some kind of convincing seizure--then Morillas creations such as this may not all be for you.) The citrus and the ambergris accord are still noticeable on the T-shirt almost twenty hours later. Actually I can still smell this on myself.

Let me start by saying, I LOVE NEROLI FRAGRANCES. To date, my favorite best bang for the buck is Banana Republic Neroli Woods. Here's my honest take on Bvlgari Man Wood Neroli ... I love it, but for me ... I disagree with most who give it a far superior score to the Banana Republic one. Ok ... for my review: the bottle is heavy, masculine and very attractive and pretty much embodies the name MAN wood neroli. But ... the atomizer is sub-par, narrow spray and difficult to depress. The opening is nice, EXCEPTIONALLY nice ... on the slightly sharp, slightly sweet, yet also slightly SOUR side due to blending it with bergamot. In the mids the slightly sharp neroli tones down a bit due to the sweeter, BEAUTIFUL orange blossoms ... my personal favorite part of the fragrance. As the woody part of Bvlgari man WOOD comes to be noticeable, I was thinking that this would be the winner in my neroli fragrance line, but unfortunately the woody drydown is below average in strength, especially when compared to such a strong opening. Within 2 hours after wearing 4 sprays, I had to put my nose within a couple of inches to even detect the woody notes on my skin. The drydown scent profile is nice ... just way too intimate to warrant any praise. All in all, however, I'd still give it a 7.5 as my total score out of 10. For comparison, I'd give Banana Republic Neroli Woods a score of 8.0 ... and perhaps even a little higher. I have a review of the Banana Republic product under that fragrance. It is a slightly more "juicy" and naturally sweeter of an opening and a little more floral, too. It's pretty much a woody floral, but the drydown is very similar to the Bvlgari but lasts longer. My personal recommendation ... because they are pretty different, yet both good ... IF you can afford it ... GET BOTH 😉. ENJOY!!!

This smells like an Italian beach wedding. The bitter bite of the neroli clashes a bit with the sweet, juicy bergamot at the top, making the opening VERY sharp and could be off-putting for a bit. But, after about 15 minutes, the two top notes stop fighting and hug it out. I used to own a bottle of Acqua Di Parma Colonia, and this reminds me a lot of it. Wood Neroli seems to be a bit more of a modern take on that DNA. Especially within the first 2 hours or so. I see a lot of people disliking the drydown, and while I actually enjoy it, I can see why they might feel that way. This is far from a linear fragrance, in fact it almost has a split personality. The top notes, as I mentioned earlier, are EXTREMELY prominent and sharp in the opening, and until they completely go away, it's hard to smell anything else. But the curtains eventually close on the neroli and bergamot, giving way to a more calm, woody, floral-ish, clean scent. I think this is the perfect fragrance for anyone over the age of 30. For those who are a bit more daring or with more formal style, I would drop it to 25. It has a more mature vibe to it... an old-money aesthetic. Performance is good but nothing to write home about. I get about 3 hours of good projection, and an additional 3-4 hours of it being a skin scent. So about 7 hours until it's undetectable. The fragrance is quite strong & pronounced in the opening, so if I were to go to the office wearing it, I'd make sure to spray it a good hour or so prior to going in the building. It's clean, office-safe, and gentlemanly. I would easily recommend this to anyone who is a fan of classic Italian perfumery.

Soapy, clean, long lasting, luxury hotel lobby smell, expensive soap etc.. If any of these things sound interesting to you, i URGE you to try it out, perfectly priced (i paid 55e for 100ml) and one of few Alberto Morilas fragrances that are not lacking in the performance department. Top is amazing neroli scent, lasts 20minutes on me, love smelling it Mid is similar to top but more soapy, reminds me of really good quality soap and that smell you get while scrubbing yourself with it in the shower. Base notes i really don't smell any leather whatsoever, to me base which comes after 5-6 hours is a skin scent that smells like lemony woods, pine needles (very fresh baby ones) and not much else. If you are like me and are looking for a fresh summer scent to replace some old ones, i used versace pour homme, aqva amara (still plan to use that one tho) , dior homme cologne. This is a perfect thing to throw in stead of those, i am writing this on a cloudy 19 degrees celsius day (57F) so i can't wait to wear this out when it's scorching hot and have it project around me. Price 8.5/10 Uniqueness 7.5/10 Smell 10/10 Versatility 5/10 (only wear it two seasons, scent doesn't make sense to be worn in cold weather) Do you NEED this? Yes and No Yes- If you are searching for a fragrance similar to this, i would say it's top of it's class, really because of the quality and performance. No- If you own neroli portofino, maybe prada l homme, things like that and if you dislike soapy fresh scents. Oh and of course if you don't like neroli, there's a bunch of it off the top.

I’d say Alberto Morillas really got it right with this one, as Wood Neroli is way better than Neroli Portofino in my humble opinion and I generally enjoy Tom Ford’s stuff. Tested this in a perfume store on a Princess cruise ship to Alaska and immediately fell in love with it. The Neroli & bergamot are prominent in the opening but upon drying down the bergamot dissipates and I’m left with this beautiful lightly sweet, honeyed floral, creamy, musky, maybe lightly soapy Neroli & orange blossom scent. I didn’t even know I loved Neroli at the time, so that really speaks volumes in my opinion as to how good this is. To me, at no point is this ever harsh or cloying, just a clean, smooth, sweet, creamy, musky neroli. As a guy I find this definitely unisex but maybe leaning a bit masculine although any woman could easily pull this one off and smell incredible. If I smelled this on a woman I’d certainly ask what she was wearing & comment that she smelled wonderful. Fantastic fragrance, wish they made a parfum version that lasted a bit longer although I do get a solid 6+ hrs of performance while it lasts even longer on my clothing. Fantastic scent across the board!

At first, you’re greeted by a burst of bergamot and neroli. However, after just a few minutes, the bergamot tones down, and woody notes begin to emerge. Combined with the neroli and the slight sweetness from amber, they create a beautifully balanced scent. This fragrance is the perfect choice for a warm, sunny day and will undoubtedly set you apart from others who wear soapy or clean scents. It evokes memories of a countryside vacation, a Saturday morning brunch, or spending time with friends and family by the ocean. I can also picture wearing this to a white-themed ceremony or with a linen outfit. The longevity and sillage of this fragrance are moderate, but noticeable enough to get you compliments. Lastly, it's worth noting that this fragrance is inspired by Tom Ford's Neroli Portofino. However, recent batches of Neroli Portofino have undergone reformulations and no longer perform as well as before. In fact, the newer batches have become so weak that they fade from my skin within a couple of hours. While Neroli Portofino still smells beautiful, its purchasing value just isn't there given its performance. Pick this one instead.

First time I used it, I thought it was simply too floral. It was fresh, it was bright, but I wasn't sure it was for me. As it settled, though, some of the woods became more prominent. The strong neroli transitioned into a more complex, woody smell, while still retaining that light, fresh touch of neroli. Over time, though, I bumped this from a 'Like' to a 'Love'. I keep coming back to Bvlgari Wood Neroli for that blend of clean, fresh florals that are still masculine. It's not an everyday fragrance for me, though I could absolutely see this being a daily driver. Instead, it's when I want that touch of masculine floral with a woody undercurrent - and for that, this is a lovely change of pace. I'd recommend this one, but probably not a blind buy for someone who doesn't like neroli and is nervous about florals. Yes, it's masculine and woody, but - especially on initial spray - it's undoubtedly floral. This feels like it leans a bit older as well - maybe best for those 30+. It's best suited for warm weather, though you can certainly wear it in the office year-round.

This is a great modern take on a masculine neroli scent. In my opinion, this is close to a year-round fragrance. It has a depth beneath the citrus and florals that makes me think it works best in spring, and even autumn. It certainly works well in summer too, but you may want something a little lighter for the very hottest of days. To me, it's quite versatile, not just in terms of season / weather, but also occassion. In the office? Great choice. Formal? This could even work there. Casual outing with friends? Again, you can't go wrong. I do think it's a mature scent, generally speaking. But it's lighthearted enough that it doesn't demand any single occassion, nor is it inaccessible for younger men who carry themselves well. Doesn't have the best longevity in the world, it seems very faint if not entirely gone by the 6 hour mark. Still, this can be had at a comparatively low price point these days, so it's excellent value overall.

To start, I received a sample of this fragrance, and I absolutely fell in love with it! I eventually purchased a small bottle and have been using it daily. This scent opens with prominent white floral notes, primarily neroli, accompanied by subtle citrus undertones. After 2-3 hours, you'll start to detect the warm presence of nagarmotha with a hint of eucalyptus, and it eventually dries down to a delightful woody and ambergris base. I'd describe it as a versatile fragrance suitable for all occasions. However, in colder weather, especially during the rainy season, it can come across as overly citrusy and has even led to some sneezing for me. So, I'd recommend avoiding it in the winter. It's unfortunate that Bvlgari has discontinued this particular fragrance. I'm actively searching for a larger bottle to stock up on this delightful scent.

I absolutely love a good neroli fragrance, this one is very similar to Neroli portofino in the opening. It is slightly brighter smelling and lasts longer. However deep in the drydown it gets soapy smelling which doesn't bother me, I've actually gotten more compliments from the drydown as people tend to think I just showered with an expensive soap, and often ask what brand of soap I use... I love these type of compliments because when I get a compliment on a traditional perfume I get afraid I over sprayed so the compliment usually has me insecure after, but I have no problem with someone asking what soap I use, it makes me feel like I properly applied the fragrance as I feel subtlety is best in perfumery. Overall id give this an 8/10 as it's not bringing anything new to the table but performance is great and scent profile is top notch.

Been looking for a masculine neroli scent that doesn't break the bank and has longevity for a while now, and this is perfect! I've sampled Neroli Portofino, 4711, Neroli sauvage, mandarino di Amalfi, and Aqua allegoria neroli vetiver. This beats them all by a mile. The notes are pretty accurate. It starts out clean, citrusy,and floral but with a nice woody bitterness that pulls it away from being soapy. It has good projection and lasts for a decent while, but is not at all overbearing or intrusive to those around you. It smells like a citrus garden after the rain. After a few hours the neroli takes a back seat to cypriol and cedar, but its still fresh and pleasant Best suited to warmer weather, but I'd gladly wear this at the office any time of year. It's a travesty that this has been discontinued. Get a bottle while you can!

This is a great spring, summer fragrance that actually lasts most of the day and projects very well for most of its life on skin. I am hit and miss with neroli but this one is so well balanced with the citrus opening and the slight woody dry down. Its a scent that just makes you feel bright and positive wearing it. Very juicy citrus up top then mixes in the neroli, white flower and a slight woody base. Kind of a simple scent but is great for hot weather and sunshine in general. Its not a feminine scent but isn't macho guy scent either. Its just clean and inviting. Great for sales guys. Many compliments in professional use. Over a year of wearing it and doesn't get boring. Not for dates or clubbing by any stretch but is a good pick up if you can find at discount store or online. 8/10 pretty solid

Absolutely devastated that they discontinued this banger. Was one of my first fragrances and I really fell in love with it and neroli scents after. Beautiful blend of neroli orange blossom with a robust sophisticated woody base to support the florals. Smell leans professional over playful, like a finance guy in a suit. Smells expensive and gives off “put together” and “successful” I feel. it also works for more casual occasions like a date night; not particularly unique or memorable, but it smells clean, nice and gets the job done. Ex really loved it too so I might be biased, but this neroli wood bomb is definitely a sleeper, never was mainstream but really good value for the scent. Sprayer is abysmal though I was using this via a travel spray the whole time. 9.2/10. Longevity 4-6 hrs.

A blind buy that exceeded my expectations. Smells like a combination of Bvlgari Wood Essence and Tom Ford Neroli Portofino minus the sweetness of the former and some of the notes/complexity of the latter. It is less synthetic than Wood Essence and also has much better performance on my skin (average vs poor). I feel that the neroli actually accentuates the woody notes and the citrus helps keep it fresh. There is a slight creaminess and also a nice warmth. Reminds me of a 25-35 year old man working in the office which is perfect for me. A bit sad that it was discontinued but layering Wood Essence and Neroli Portofino gave me similar results. Dry down is very close to TFNP. Overall a great office scent for moderate to warm weather.

Blind buy safe! I am not much of a spring/summer fragrance guy, as living in colder weather areas has been my thing for the last 8+ years. However, this spring I got more into fragrances and this was super hyped and I really had good feedback from some people on it. BOUGH IT without questioning. This smells AMAZING! Love the bottle, the presentation, the scent truly is a daily one, particularly for warmer weather, though the sweetness may give it a fall vibe for the early days of fall. The sprayer/atomizer, however, is the worst in my collection. Buy it, gift it, and wear it for reenergizing/being happy. This is very enjoyable and a killer under the sun! Price per mL is also great on it. Got mine for right around $50.

This is a masterpiece. The smell is very clean, fresh and uplifting. Very good performance considering the fresh notes are a lot more volatile and stick for fewer time to your skin. I got between 5-6 hours in performance, after that it will stay very close to skin. This was the 2nd day I used it and so far I've received 8 compliments on how good I smelled.I am a young business professional and this is, to my opinion, the best release of this house and among the best of Alberto Morillas 2019 releases. It is in the same smell family of Tom Ford Neroli Portofino or Mandarino de Amalfio but its by NO means the same. I personally prefer this one as it feels more modern and wearable.

Is bitter soapy aroma powdery neroli scent. The bitter woody scent is very obvious on this perfume. This is perfect for layering with a bright citrus lemony or tea perfume. To create the holiday vibe and summery weekend resting mood. Lifting up the mood and make you happy. Of course this can be worn alone too. Wearing it alone is more flat focus on neroli itself. Bvlgari Wood neroli is very neroli focus. Not much layer and top and base are the same kind of scent. It won’t evolve different type of scent when time pass by. I bought this for layering purpose, whatever I need a touch of neroli into my own perfume with different category. Is a huge advantage to my collection.

Smells like lemon or lime-ade. Fresh, citrus, slightly herbaceous (basil,) white floral, a little carnal, white musk. A touch powdery, slightly spicy. There's a green tea note present throughout. Gets a little animalic before a pleasant woody/musky dry down. Some slightly salty notes as well. In the air it smells like a luxury hotel lobby, or spa. Performance is good. projects well. Lasts as a musky skin scent for quite a while too. I think it's great for summer, suits a guy 25-50 (ish,) but would work most of the year and is ok for the office. Back up bottle worthy, IMO. Overall I think it's great, like a better performing, more modernised "Mugler Cologne."

I really love this. I wanted something broadly in the same space as Eau d'Issey which I'd loved for years but grown a little tired of. The opening of this feels like a more subtle, personal version of Issey - the neroli citrus/floral notes are really prominent. But once it calms down the magic happens for me, and it creates this gorgeous, completely addictive citrus/woody/musky blend on my skin which really works for me. The combination of muskiness, cleanliness and *slightly* indolic/animalistic notes slightly reminds me of... How to put this delicately... My partner when she's straight out of the shower and I'm feeling generous. I am very ok with this.
