Splendida Jasmin Noir

What a beautiful perfume. I am really enjoying everything I have tried from the Spendida line and this will probably be my next FB purchase. And I'm thinking I should just blind buy the Magnolia, this line has not disappointed me at all. Now this perfume really isn't about jasmine at all. This is a creamy sandalwood laced gardenia fragrance supported by cashmeran in the right way, that gives it the texture of velvet. Tonka gives a slight sweetness but not overly done. I can see why Elena P here calls this Gothic Gardenia because it is. A gardenia that isn't pure white but off white. This is the gardenia a women wears when she has seen a bit of life, has lived, loved. Maybe had her heart broken but she still perseveres, still believes in love. But she is not a fool for it, not again. This is a very sensual fragrance, a femme fatal type. My husband went crazy for this. If you want a sensual sandalwood and gardenia I don't think you need to look any further. This is it. Edit 9/30/24 the more I wear this the more I really agree with Elena P review of this perfume. It is dark, Gothic. A gardenia grown in a cemetery. Full of bitter poison that is just sweet enough to fool unsuspecting passers by. This is one of the most animalic and alluring fragrances I have smelled in a long time. I had been getting pretty jaded in this hobby of late thinking I couldn't find something this provocative, this daring. This is FB worthy and backup worthy.

I've been on a gardenia quest. I know when extracted, the oil produced by gardenia petals does not yield the lovely scent the flowers are known for. Most gardenia perfumes are a "fantasy" note, or an artificial accord, or a blend of other "big white florals." Thus the name Jasmin Noir(???) with gardenia as a main note... On first spray, this is a HUGE surprise and a like but not the love I hoped it might be. As an aside, nothing will compare to the opening I experienced with Narciso Rodriguez “Narciso EDP White Cube.” Splendida Jasmin Noir's opening is a resplendent white floral with aquatic, green nuances. The perfume rapidly develops with creamy woody notes, which I assume are sandalwood and cashmerean. As time passes, Jasmin Noir wears with dense, waxy, slightly bitter (not indolic) floral notes, 2) sandalwood, 3) musk and 4) patchouli. I own and love a few jasmine fragrances with Amouage "Portrayal Woman" being my favorite. I'm familiar with jasmine notes and jasmine is not the floral I detect in this perfume. The floral notes I detect are extremely muted and tame. The florals do strengthen with time but not to the extent and manner I am seeking. And true to my experience with other Spledida Perfumes, longevity on Jasmin Noir isn't great; silage is minimal. I like the first 5 minutes of the opening. But the remaining wear is disappointing. Really thought this one was ending up on eBay. But I will keep it for now.

A dark & soft shady jasmine...This isn't what I was expecting from a jasmine scent, but it's beautiful. It has the soft powdery purple tones of jasmine, but not the sunny citrus-y aspects - more like the shady side of jasmine. The gardenia is a beautiful complement, blurred into a powdery sweet sandalwood-tonka. I love the creamy woody aspects here, like wood chips soaked in a purple milkshake. This isn't a dupe of anything that I've smelt, but there are hints of reminders of Black Orchid Tom Ford and Dior Addict EDP 2014. I'll let it sit for a bit and be back to update my review, but so far 10/10. Update 01/23/25: This is just beautiful. The base of this reminds me of a Dior, as another reviewer observed and I agree. I seem to be getting the almond note from the original Jasmin Noir, or at least an illusion of that, as there's a certain type of woodiness in the base that I've smelt in Dior fragrances, especially after several hours of drydown (Dolce Vita, Dune, Dior Addict, Hypnotic Poison), although this isn't a dupe of anything I've smelt. Jasmine is blooming a little more than my first test, but it's a shady, soft lilac/purplish jasmine - not too fruity, beautiful, and sometimes I'm getting a hint of a root-beer note in the opening phases. This is a great winter scent, but I can't wait to try this when it's a little warmer to see how it performs. Still a love.

It’s very cheeky of Bvlgari to name this perfume “Jasmin Noir,” and put it in the exact same bottle as the previous, yet sadly discontinued Jasmin Noir. It is not the exact same perfume, although the similarities are strong and it is the best replacement for the original JN. Splendida starts out less sweet and creamy, and more woody than the original. They both dry down into much the same scent. Splendida may actually have slightly better longevity (perhaps thanks to the additional wood?) Splendida is a worthy replacement, although it does beg the question as to why a replacement is required, since Jasmin Noir was such a lovely perfume. I like this perfume for all but the absolute hottest days. It’s not a pure jasmine, the wood definitely adds some “noir,” and depth. I wish this edition had some more creaminess, but there’s a lovely floral sweetness to it that’s not syrupy or cloying at all, without being anything like a “freshie” at all.

It's warm and soft, cozy and comforting, which isn't something I usually associate with white florals. I find it to be really easy to wear for many different occasions and weathers, but unfortunately it really evaporates from my skin in warmer temperatures. Aside from the less than impressive lasting power this fragrance is pure perfection to me. I love wearing it to bed, it sticks to the fabric in a really pleasant way and I can still get little wafts of it the days after. This is one of my first perfume loves and I'm really happy that I got a full size bottle. The bottle and sprayer is really high quality. Amazing on it's own, also addictive layered with Pink Sugar and works well with Mariah Carey M (weirdly less durable than with PS which on it's own has even worse lasting power on my skin).

I think this may be my favorite from the Splendida series. It was neck and neck - no pun intended - with Iris d'Or for a while, but I have to say that in the end, Jasmin Noir is preferred mostly due to it's depth and originality. I have never tried a white floral fragrance quite like this one. I have to admit that I only get passing whiffs of the jasmin and gardenia. This is far more about the bottom notes to me, especially the sandalwood, cashmeran, and the burnt vanilla note from Tonka. While I wish I got much more white floral out of this, I adore it as I am experiencing it. I have yet to wear this outdoors or in any kind of warm weather. My gut tells me that the florals will be coaxed out under those conditions. Moderate silage and longevity.

I wanted a jasmine perfume and I really wanted to like this one. I'd previously used Lush's Lust, which was a little too in-your-face and stained my clothes. It's a nice scent, without a doubt. For me, the opening is very strong and smells of chemicals, but after a few minutes it calms down into a pleasant (but strong) white floral scent. There's a warm, woody dry down, and then after about 6 hours for me it fades into nothing. It lingers on my clothes, but on my skin I can only smell a hint of tonka and sandalwood if I press my nose against it. It's a mysterious perfume that smells both sophisticated and sexy, appropriate for day and night, but it doesn't last long enough for my liking.

My skin says: I love this perfume!!! I got it as a sampler last summer, and, had forgotten all about it... found it this evening stored behind everything else, and oh wow how much I like this juice!!! I love sjasmin, there is some of it in the beginning, than it just melt down to a cozy vanilla/tonka thing, in a way there is a thing saying Sonia Rykiel to me.... If I had this sexy godess back in the 80-thies, the men, and woman would have been hanging on my shoulders when I was at the discoteques.... I feel like a vampyrinessequeen now, playing my old records on youtube, and thinking of my little black dress (it's still with me, somewhere) and now it's time for party ....;))

There’s something about sandalwood that makes me absolutely swoon. The moment I put this on, I find myself closing my eyes and sighing, it’s that good. Gardenia and jasmine have always been my favorite flowers, the epitome of intoxicating natural beauty, and here they bloom in perfect harmony with creamy sandalwood and velvety tonka bean. The result is sensual, warm, and irresistibly classy. It has that soft vintage lipstick aura, elegant, feminine, and slightly nostalgic. Long lasting with a beautiful, noticeable sillage. I can’t believe I waited this long to try it, it’s simply gorgeous and quietly aphrodisiac.

I do not know about the previous iteration to compare, but I can give my thoughts on this composition which I've sampled. There was little 'noir' to this composition, but much smoothness. This fragrance to me is about gardenia and cashmeran, all other notes add, but do not dominate this determined duo. Splendida jasmine noir is slightly ever so woody, ever so powdery, ever so white floral, ever so mature, ever so deep. In the opening, I must admit, I was not impressed, but as it developed, I gained a deep appreciation for this fragrance. And that's all I have to say.

This is a beautiful and effortlessly elegant white flower fragrance. Even though I recognize a slightly indolic (mostly from up-close) jasmine, a creamy and waxy gardenia is more prominent to my nose, and dominates over all the other notes. Splendida Jasmin Noir is pretty much linear and its sillage remains moderate throughout the day. Honestly, the more I wear it, the more I love it. After all, a long-lasting, creamy fragrance without a sharp muskiness as longevity booster is not that easy to come by these days.

I feel it’s really underrated whilst it’s probably one of the most prized jasmine frags in my possession currently, and in all honesty the whole Splendida line is truly magnificent. Jasmin Noir is very sexy, lactonic, warm, spicy, and memorable. Delicate and complex. A perfect example of classic perfumery. With this heavy, black and gold bottle worthy of some Egyptian goddess, it stole my heart aesthetically on all levels . Easy 10/10 in its category, just can’t fault it!

Avsolutely STUNNING! An all year around leaning from sunset to evening scent! Sexy! Has similiarity with Lush Lust,just not so in your face!Sparkling champaign-like with almonds and tonka beans. Purrrrrrfection ! This is a floral woody scent! I realise that in the above description the almond note is not listed. NOT TRUE! It is in there! Ultra feminine perfume . Excellent sillage a bit more than an arms length and longevity is appr 8-11 hours. 50 ml 97,-Euros (100 USD)

An all-timer for me. Icy, funereal, sweet, poetic white floral on the natural side (though I did just smell my oldest bottle and it's a bit more Chanel No 5-y FLORAL!!!! than I expected?) If you like your jasmine wearing a long black wool overcoat and white driving gloves, this is your sort of thing. Surprised it's not featured on those lists of perfumes for goth girls.

This is the closest thing to night blooming jasmine we have around here. This is a thick jasmine with a woodsy note, a head turner when I walk around. Not sure why they reformulated this. The original lasted longer and had better sillage. I won’t repurchase unless I find an older batch before the Splendida version. It’ll do for now since I love the first few hours.

I love this, it’s my favourite perfume and one I get compliments on. Unfortunately, I never got to experience the OG Jasmin Noir so can’t compare the two. However, I’m wondering if this one has also been discontinued now? It’s not on the Bvlgari website and I’m seeing it sold out in shops with nowhere saying it will come back in stock. :(

This is a sophisticated night time perfume. It is unique. Whenever I wear it, I get compliments from males (my dates). It doesn't project much (not a close to skin-scent, tho it is in between), but I do not mind it, because it is not along the same line with something loud like La vie est belle etc.

One of the cleanest presentations of jasmine I've smelled so far! We used to have a jasmine bush in our backyard and this fragrance reminds me of it. The scent is very fresh in a way - as in the jasmine blossoms have just begun opening and are full of life. Slightly sweet and sinfully intoxicating.

I am in love with this scent. Sexy and classy! Has a more dominant jasmine note compared to the classical Jasmin Noir and also stays longer on the skin without turning into a pure woody scent by still protecting its floral characteristics. The one I'll never give up wearing.

I so love this fragrance, not too floral thanks goodness, at least on my skin. It is mysterious and beautiful! Just wish it stayed around much longer! Nevertheless I could easily bath in this! Bvlgari never disappoints me! It is warm woody but feminine and balsamic!

it's tame but intriguing, dark but not heavy, clean but mysterious. it's elegant and simple but not banal. it works for any occasion, any season, any time of day or night and it never loses its magic. it's great for layering. classy, chic, sophisticated. i adore it

Looks like it's been discontinued in Europe?? I had no chance of buying it before but tested it many times in the shops, it's such a beautiful scent🖤Hope there will be something alike available in the future

LOVE, why didn‘t I discover this fragrance earlier? Reminds me a little bit of Tom Ford‘s Black Orchid but I like this one better. It‘s feminine, grown-up, sexy, white floral, woody, musky, a bit powdery.

I feel more gardenia than jasmine. Good fragrance for evening. I rather like it. I like that kind of gardenia. It's perfect for evening fragrances.

To me, this is one of the sexiest fragrances for women. Sexy, seductive, irresistible - just can't get enough of it.

This one in my collection is the one where it doesn’t actually suit me completely and it’s one I definitely don’t wear as much as others but it’s super nostalgic as this was one of my mother’s fragrances and whenever I smell it I have those beautiful memories that spring to mind. Luckily when I moved out I got to keep the last drops that were left in a small bottle version of the original one and mind you this bottle would’ve been easily 10 years old and I actually didn’t know the name of it because the writing was worn off so I had to hunt it down and I didn’t know there were so many different types of this fragrance! I’m pretty sure my mother had the original but these days it’s impossible to find and at least when I smelt this one it was ridiculously close. For me, this is dark, mature, subtle jasmine scent that isn’t jasmine centred. Honestly, I wear this when I don’t want people talking to me LOL but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad fragrance! I do like it, I almost always have to be wearing an all black or very dark outfit to match this one, that’s why as well I think it’s definitely a winter/autumn fragrance. It’s decent longevity and the more you spray the more it’ll project.

It gains points worn globally - it is a gentle veil of a sophisticated scent that is not too much even afresh. Surely in Italian weather this is a necessity. Perfect for evenings but lovely for a day in cold weather. Dark, moody but light gardenia transitioning into jasmine with very light woody base. Dislike after wrist test to like globally. Oh I feel pampered in it. It is softer than the first Jasmin Noir. It does not last particularly long - I think I feel it after 6 hours but faintly. It suits the scent however. It is mysterious. At 12hours mark when my skin heated I perceived delicious wafts of it which were gorgeous. It seems like this version has the strongest performance and projection while staying light and elegant. I consider it universal weather-wise, but in hot weather better for the evening I suppose. I truly liked my day in it today. It has such a dark, mysterious mood which suits me.

FINALLY. I've finally found my beloved Jasmin Noir! This was my introduction to designer perfumes when I was a young teen and incited my love for perfume. I was skeptic of the name for a while but found a single review on the website I bought it from that stated this is Jasmin Noir under a different name. I took the plunge and I'm transported to the day I felt like I was on a sea of clouds, influenced by both the powdery notes and the spark in my head that went of that said "this is it". You don't know how happy I am to finally have it in my life again. I'll be buying two of the largest sizes every time I run out. Edit 1: The opening smells a bit minty which isn't what the original was like and the powdery base and middle notes are a bit faint. I'm hoping it still lasts as long as the original but I love it so far.

I am testing it on my wrist and it is mushroomy, dry with a touch of nail polish solvant. Does not project but does have some creaminess up close. An evening scent that I find quite challenging and not pretty. Ah, the blind buys... I like the Magnolia of the series, the Tubereuse, the Rose, the Iris and I own the pre-splendida formulation which is sweeter and more white floral. I do not feel floral notes here. After 1.5 hour jasmine joins and it turns much better. Dark with some patchouli's earthiness and woodiness. But it is so subtle. Good for sensitive ones that search for something mysterious and distance giving. Also barely 2 hours have passed and there is not even a trace of it left... The earlier Jasmin Noir was subtle but present.

I got a 5ml mini bottle of this and it's so cute! I love how bvlgari does their samples. They're very faithful to art. I love how creamy it smells, this is coming from someone who dislikes sweet scents! This was one of the rarest times I had ever liked jasmine note, I often get headaches when smelling white flowers but Jasmin Noir is something. I can't believe no bottle is available in my country, I have to buy from online to get this. I would definitely buy one bottle before bvlgari discontinues this like they did to rose rose, I still haven't moved on from that atrocious event. I hope they release something similar.

This is so similar to Mugler's Aura Sensuelle! They share gardenia, green notes and sandalwood, all of which are very prominent in both scents. Aura Sensuelle is maybe slightly sweeter, but otherwise they're both equally creamy, floral and green. They're melancholic, nostalgic in a way, and innocent with just the tiniest mischief in them. I really like Jasmin Noir (and Jasmin Noir L'Elixir, which is even better in my opinion), but this Splendida Jasmin Noir doesn't really remind me of either. I really do think Aura Sensuelle is a closer relative to Splendida. Longevity and projection are excellent on me.

It's pretty intriguing, as from a jasmine/gardenia based scent you'd expect something cloying and indolic while it's not. Yes, you can smell these two white floral notes but also very distant and natural patchouli, also some green notes that make the perfume well-ballanced and not overly sweet. After a few hours it becomes softer and the tonka takes over, while patchouli is stil detectable. It is aromatic but transparent, expressive but not overwhelming. Definitely worth trying if you're looking for an elegant summer evening scent.

This is a white floral for a mature woman. It is deep, dark, and densely floral. She is not light or airy. I would use this in the evening, in cool weather. I think this would be too much for the heat. The opening has a sharpness, but after a couple of minutes this fragrance really settles. The immediate opening honestly reminds me of the elderly. Ill keep trying it out, but so far I haven't been very impressed with longevity. I think I would need to lightly reapply after the 2 to 3 hour mark.

Blimey I can actually smell something with this Splendida version. Why is it called Jasmin Noir?!! I get as much cashmere wood as the gardenia which is a bit disappointing and puts me off a bit. I like the fresh green note that sadly doesnt hang around long. It soon settles down to basically cashmere wood, tonka and sandalwood. Nice but that's about it. I'm not wowed. A typical, classy Bvlgari scent that doesn't have good longevity or sillage.

This is quite close to the original and there is a decent amount of oil when you spray it on which means it should be fairly long lasting, but I put several sprays on before work, and I've been sitting at a desk in 21'C airconditioned building & it's pretty much worn off after 5 hours. The original lasted longer. Looks like they have now discontinued this one as well :( Such a pity as it's such a beautiful unique fragrance.

I do really like this! I bought a bottle on my last holiday. To my nose it's floral and sexy and smooth, kinda sweet and slightly "dark" indeed (but nothing too crazy). It's a shame though, that it's not very strong and doesn't last very long. I have a feeling that it dissappears quite soon, although it might also be a bit of noseblindness? It sits pretty close to the skin in my experience.

I just looked at my comment for the older version of Jasmin Noir and I remembered that I didn't like it at that time. I like this one now though. I like the tonka bean, spicy sandalwood, woody notes and sweet gardenia. It's not among my top favorites, but I must admit, it's classy. I guess, my taste in perfumes has changed over the years. An intriguing evening scent full of mysteries.

This was a blind buy for me. The first time I smelled it I absolutely disliked this. It smelled so weird and im not sure what it was.. synthetic?? But after a few tries I started to like this more. I am still not a huge fan and I don't reach for it, but it a nice after shower fragrance. I love jasmin but this isn't one of my favorites.

I really like this. I definitely get more of the sandalwood and cashmeran. Hardly any jasmine at all, but it's still a very comfortable, calming scent. It doesn't last very long or have very good sillage. I could see myself wearing this just out of the shower, right before bed. It could definitely help me relax and fall asleep.

Yet another proof that you don't need a full bouquet to create complexity. This scent is beautiful in its simplicity - extremely easy to wear, but also deep, balmy and gorgeous on the skin. It lingers and develops stunningly. However this name is really confusing, considering the absence of jasmine notes in it.

Extremely long lasting when touched the clothes. The scent on the clothes can only be wash away with soap If you used Jasmin Noir on Day 1 and plan to use a different perfume on Day 2, must wear a different clothes. Don't ever wear the clothes on Day 1 and wear other perfumes. It will become a disaster

It is certainly similar to Jasmin Noir but unless I have completely forgotten that one (I had a sample over 9 months ago), I think this Splendida version is somewhat milder and therefore more acceptable for me to enjoy it. It is closer to Mon Jasmin Noir which is excellent.

Nail polish in the initial blast but turns out a creamy soft oriental that isn’t cloying. I can’t detect any jasmin on my skin which doesn’t matter to me. A fragrance suitable for a mature lady. Perfect for the winter. Unfortunately my husband didn’t like it.

I got this as a gift and first sprays were unpleasant (like pee). But now it smells very elegant and perfect for classy summer nights. To my nose, it smells like luxurious cream :)

Very nice, deeply balsamic scent, based on creamy sandalwood. Chic, sophisticated and ladylike. A must have for floral oriental scents' lovers.
