Splendida Magnolia Sensuel

If I hadn't received a free sample of Mongolia sensual,I would never try to find and test it.I heard tones of negative comments from my friends and honestly I was surprised when I sprayed it on my hand.I'm going to be the odd one here but it was a like at first sniff and a "like it even more" after giving it some time. I agree that it's simple and is not outstanding but I don't want every perfume to be revolutionary.believe me I love the fantasy trip a perfume can take us too but I also appreciate simple and pleasant,non-challenging ones which make me and everyone around me feel good and it's not as simple as numerous solinote niche fragrances with higher price Magnolia is the strongest note as it's name suggests.I love magnolia and it really shines here.a natural magnolia but not a really fresh or green one.I can also smell a hint of other white florals.probably jasmine.I can detect tangerine but it stays in background.what I mostly smell is mongolia grounded by musk and vanilla,which are creamy and soft here and create a very pleasant,sensual and ladylike scent.it lasts for an impressive time but sillage never passes moderate which is a pity.I think it's wearable year round,both days and nights I don't know how much it is as I haven't seen it in a perfume shop yet but I'd really love to have a bottle whenever I can afford Edit: After using up my sample vial I can see that I love this perfume.all in all I'm not a bvlgari fan and I've not tested other members of splendida line.bvlgari omnia amethyst had been my only bvlgari love until I tested magnolia sensual.I decided to buy it and enjoy it's silky,clean scent during this spring and summer but... OMG it's very very expensive.a 50mil bottle is not available here and a 100mil one is more than 100$!! Though I really like it and find it pleasant,I don't want to pay more than 40-50$ for it.I don't know what's going on in perfume world that I've been facing so many nonrealistic price tags these days.this is def a beautiful perfume but it's simple and has soft to moderate sillage so I highly believe 50$ top would be an appropriate price for it's big size.the same thing goes on for most other designers perfumes. In past people used to buy a single bottle of perfume and use that for a year,so it's price wouldn't be a real deal breaker but nowadays there comes an interesting flanker every months and a lot of people buy more than one perfume per month.I'm one of these people.I'm a perfume addict and a buyaholic,me and my husband are both working,we're not poor but not rich either.just like most of people out there and I really can't continue buying perfumes with the prices designer brands ask for their offerings.they're as expensive as a lot of niche fragrances. Opulent, fluffy & creamy-citrus aura of magnolia...Opens with a puff of orange-blossom accented by tangerine, and already the gorgeous magnolia is swelling through with a perfume-y vein. The balance of citrus to white-floral is really well done here, leaning more to the white-floral than Acqua di Parma's Magnolia Nobile, although there's something recognizable in them both, the way the citrus-tinge of magnolia is done with a slight perfume-y quality. As it transitions to the heart, the magnolia comes more and more forward, and while the other notes are recognizable, they're building that gorgeous, show-stealing magnolia. Vanilla, musk & patchouli are there in the base to keep the effect going for well beyond average performance. Musk adds to the fluffiness of the magnolia, vanilla adds to the creamy-sweetnesss, and patchouli serves as an earthy anchor point. This gets more creamy-sweet the longer it's on the skin, with a opulent, fluffy aura of magnolia tinged with citrus that hangs about you. Performance is excellent, and while it could be worn year round, the opulence and warm patchouli in the base make it perfect for this time of year when looking forward to spring florals. This is the type of magnolia I would expect from master perfumer, Jacques Cavallier, who doesn't disappoint. It's a love for me. Enjoy! Contrast to Acqua di Parma Magnolia Nobile: These are different, but there is a similar vibe & style of the magnolia. AdP's magnolia is more citrus forward with a cologne-like feel, while Bvlgari's is more vanillic. Both have good performance. Contrast to L'Instant de Guerlain EDT Guerlain: These are different, but both are a magnolia forward scent with a luscious creaminess. Bvlgari's magnolia has more citrus, while L'Instant de Guerlain EDT has more powdery facets. Both have good performance. Contrast to Pure Poison Dior: These are different, but both are opulent & creamy white-florals. Pure Poison is all about jasmine with a powdery opening and woody base which altogether reminds me of snow for some reason, while Magnolia Sensuel is a creamy citrus-tinged magnolia. Both have excellent performance. Update 01/02/25: I could see this being worn as a wedding perfume. Definitely a rich white-floral, and although this isn't a vanilla scent, and vanilla isn't currently rated as a top 5 note, this magnolia leans vanillic & creamy. I've been layering this with Dior Addict 2014 over the past few days, and I'm currently in heaven. This has a depth & richness that doesn't rely on sweetness. Although this can stand alone, and has gotten sweeter with aging and lost some of the sharpness of the citrus, it can also be layered with a sweeter white floral in winter (like Dior Addict EDP 2014) or a fresher white floral in summer (like Bright Crystal Versace). I love this more each time I wear it.

I've had Magnolia Sensuel for a some time now. I had to think about this one for a while before I posted. It's Interesting and more complex than the notes would let on. I've read the reviews here prior to purchasing it. But, I bought it anyway. It took a bit. But, I think I figured this one out. This perfume seems to really work with body heat and on very moist skin. When I get out of the shower and dry off, I spray myself with argan oil and massage it in. Then I spray the BMS on my warmest parts. My cleavage, Navel, Back of My Neck, and the Brachial Area (inner elbow/arm crease). When I do, ...this perfume really opens up. It becomes so aromatic, balsamic lightly floral. It's incredible. Almost like a crushed fresh Sassafras leaf with some rich floral mixed in. It is actually a beautiful, well done parfume. Other times, if I just spray it without moisturizing and spray it on the wrists, etc. I get a lightly rancid, waxy smelling magnolia (which is what a fresh picked magnolia flower actually smells like) that quickly fades into a lightly barely detectable orange blossom type scent. Both are nice. When I read reviews on this perfume. I saw alot of people said it was a "personal perfume". I finally get what people mean. This is a very "personal" perfume. Firstly, when I wear it. I wear it for me. Just for me to enjoy. Secondly, When I properly wear BMS (sprayed on warmer body regions), I get these little aromatic whiffs that make me happy and I can't stop sniffing. It reminds me of my childhood home in the woods with all the floral trees and sassafras trees. Lastly, after the first 30 minutes most people can't really smell it but me. Unless, they're very close. Especially given the areas I spray. It's really a lovely perfume. However, in order to really appreciate the magnolia that's in it. I think you would have to know what real, authentic fresh picked, raw, and crushed up magnolia petals really smell like. Up close and personal. Not just the essential oils you buy. There were 6 large Magnolia trees outside my bedroom window for the first 22 years of my life. I climbed, played many times in those trees. Even escaped a few times as a teenager. But, I would always pick the flowers and squish them, smell them, play with them. Fresh Magnolia especially in large abundance can have a rancid, waxy scent. But, it can also have a heady, lemony-floral scent that's toe tingling. This perfume is schitzophrenic like that. Sometimes it's one way, and sometimes it's the other. Authentic Realistic Magnolia Done Perfectly.

Wowww! This fragrance is truly, breathtakingly beautiful!! I’ve blind bought Bvlgary’s Splendida Magnolia Sensuel during a recent Bvlgary sale and it couldn’t be a better choice for my taste! Instant love! Also, why is nobody talking about this perfume line from Bvlgary?!?!?? On my skin it’s a rich, dense, deep, honeyed sweet, citrusy, white floral with a base consisting of a blend of a spiced patchouli and a creamy vanilla. While it’s not a photorealistic magnolia perfume, (I can say this because I am familiar with how this delicate white floral smells like in nature), I really like that Bvlgari created a complex, multifaceted floral with tangy, zesty tangerines and fresh, spicy patchouli. I have several mid white florals with patchouli base and for me, it’s a winning combo almost 100% time. I didn’t expect this scent to be so full bodied and rich smelling. Magnolia flowers have a more delicate scent when you smell it from a tree branch. Which again, very pleasant surprise, because it is more versatile as far as seasons go, I can wear this easily even during fall colder weather. To put it simply, it smells like the colour of the bottle looks like, a sensual and seductive scent without a doubt! Don’t expect a sheer, light and airy white floral from Magnolia Sensuel... Based upon this amazing experience with Magnolia Splendida, I want to get next the patchouli, the tuberose and the jasmine dominant ones from this Splendida collection. Just by looking at the notes, all of these look very promising!

Magnolia Sensual is a strong like for me and that is a big surprise because I'm not usually a fan of magnolia fragrances. This is a very pretty summer fragrance and the review below mine is spot on. This smells Italian. Summer on the Mediterranean. I can see in my minds eye a beautiful woman in a white dress, some subtle gold jewelry her hair gently blowing in the breeze. She is wearing this perfume and all the men turn their heads to catch a glimpse of her walking by. Her fragrance leaves an inviting trail. It smells classy. It's not trying to be Sensual it just is. The tangerine gives this fragrance just enough citrus sweetness to keep the magnolia in check. The vanilla and musk here are just the right touch, not heavy giving the fragrance balance and just the right style. It is a statement fragrance without behaving like a typical statement fragrance. Chic, and effortless beauty here. I'm not usually the biggest fan of citrus florals but this one I can see myself wearing a lot during the summer. It is fresh while still being a bit opulent. This line is a real winner in my book.

This is a very delicate and intimate magnolia. The orange blossom can be quite a heavy and stuffy note but here is just a supporting cast member. This fragrance is sweeter, more gentle, and not as bitter, waxy, or harsh as Acqua di Parma Mag Nobile. I agree with other posters that this is a little too delicate and wears too close to the skin. There is just the slightest passing touch of fruit wine to this, which gives it a lovely depth. The fragrance is so feminine and pretty that I find the blood red bottle ill-suited to it; perhaps a clear white glass bottle with white frosted glass magnolias decorating it would have been more appropriate.

This works incredibly well on me - I just wish the longevity was a little bit better. It's unmistakably sexy, but not in a cliche way. It's sensual, classy and elegant. Adult, but not old. For me it evokes a walk though a nighttime garden after a hot summer's day. It has rained but early enough so the scent of the blossoms has broken through again. Fresh but not watery. Richly floral but never too heavy or cloying. The smallest trace of sweetness. It's an ivory silk dress, without embellishments but tailored to perfection, simple yet a statement.

I don’t know why this is not rated higher but the scent from this fragrance is gorgeous! I based this from the tester and the magnolia notes just smell divine. The creamy floral notes are smooth and the musk gives this a sensual feel. I would definitely wear this in the evening. This is quite pricey though which is why I didn’t buy it. Update: Hubby bought me the perfume for Mother’s Day so I will start wearing it now that the days and nights are getting cooler. Love it!!

Splendida Magnolia Sensuel has amazed me. Excellent fragrance, intense and well structured. On my skin magnolia note is good and doesn't turn, on the contrary it takes shape and sublimates the other ones, especially orange blossom. This perfume led me by the hand all day long, at times drowsy, sometimes excited. Splendid! just as its name is saying. I also sprayed it on the paper strip I put in my purse, which spread pleasantly for days, and days!

Dang! This is one gorgeous perfume! It is almost spot on for the Southern magnolia blossoms that grew in my Auntie's East Texas yard. Almost. What it's missing is the faint lemony essence. You only get that note when you plunge your nose right into the center of the blossom. And I did that with regularity. I'm still looking for my lemony magnolia, but this one will do nicely in the meantime. It will stay on my "favorites" shelf, for sure.

This is one of those miracles from Bvlgari. Love from the first sniff. Whatever is in there, it is absolutely superb! I usually don't like sweetness but in this case the sweetness is so special and specific that there's nothing there that bothers. For me personally, I don't see any connection with sensuality here, it's just so good in itself, but I understand what was meant by it in the name: most probably the sweet part.

This is as if you were shoving a fragrant southern magnolia blossom in your face. Authentic, fragrant, and beautiful. The orange blossom is enough to highlight the magnolia. It's beautiful, it trails magnificently. Men will want to know what woman was just in this room. This is a perfume for a serious grown, sexy and sophisticated woman. (Definitely not an Easter basket stripper pole fragrance)

Bravo Mr. Cavallier. I love this scent. It is 100% a floral scent, mainly magnolia and jasmine. Extreamelly feminine and very sensual in an elegant way. This would be perfection if longevity and sillage were more powerfull. Only stays in my skin about 3-4 hours and I get no trail, even with 8 to 10 sprays.

bright white flowers. very intense, very intoxicating but still fresh. a bit citrus but not screechy at all. LOVE THIS so much. it's more elegant, more dressed up, can be formal. The projection is crazy I'm at upstair and my sister's in living room and she can smell me. longevity moderate, about 6-8 hrs.

Lovely!!! Smells of sweet, rich magnolia. Opulent and oh so sensual. Subtle on the skin, creamy and smooth. Reminds me of evening walks in the warm, summer breeze... surrounded by magnolia trees. This is a definite win for me! Longevity 8/10 Sillage 7/10

This is how love and excitment smells...

First of all I want to talk a little about Lancome Miracle which was a love of mine several years ago. I remember about 5 years ago we went on a trip with family and when we wanted to come back home, in airplaine salon there was a woman who was walking and as she was walking , I was blowning away by her beautiful frgrance. When I asked her about her perfume , she showed me Lancome Miracle. That day I tested Lancome miracle and I was in love with that amazing fragrance and bought that. Unfortunately they have reformulated that beautiful perfume and now I don't like new reformulation anymore. In Lancome miracle vintage version Magnolia played a very important role. After lancome miracle went under reformulation, I was seeking for a new perfume as a substitute and this journey lasted for more that 5 years. Finally I found my new love. About one week ago I was in a perfume shop for testing new perfumes and suddenly I saw Bvlgari Magnolia Sensuel and told to myself I should test this one. When I opened the cap, I fell in love with this magical smell. This is one of my very best perfumes of all time. It reminded me of lancome miracle (vintage version, before reformulation) and I got really happy. I went home and made my decision. I couldn't forget that majestic smell. Yesterday me and my brother went to the shop and I bought Bvlgari magnolia and it is one of my best perfumes. I don't want to exaggerate. This perfume is not very strong in cillage , but when you spray it over your skin and also your clothes, it projects about 30 minutes to 1 hour and it will then turn into a skinscnet and you can feel it about 3 to 4 hours which is satisfying. I know that if it was stronger, it would be better ; but I am soooo in love with this fragrance that I can ignore its softness. This perfume gives me tranquility and whenever I use it I feel I am in a garden or in a flowe shop. Main player in this perfume is Magnolia which is in best form and best quality. I can feel some soft tangerine rhyme combine with musk and a little amount of vanilla with a very very small amount of patchouli. I don't like patchouli, but here it is not so much and totally this is a very high quality perfume. I just love love love this perfume and it is among my 10 best perfumes of all time, maybe the best one (I think so). Thank you all for spending your time to read my review. Kissessss از اونجایی که توضیحاتی که به انگلیسی نوشتم خیلی ممکنه طولانی باشه، خیلی خلاصه وار نظرم رو در مورد این عطر میگم. من عاشق ادکلن مریکل از برند لنکوم بودم که رایحه ی غالب اون عطر رو مگنولیا تشکیل میداد، اما متاسفانه اون عطر زیبا ریفرموله شد و دیگه کیفیت سابق رو نداره. حدود 5 سال بود که دنبال عطری میگشتم که شبیه به لنکوم مریکل باشه و بوی مگنولیا رو به بهترین فرم ممکن بتونم از اون بگیرم و بعد از تست کردن صدها عطر طی این چند سال، ناگهان خیلی شانسی در فروشگاه روژا چشمم به این عطر جدید بولگاری (بولگاری مگنولیا سنسوئل) افتاد و به خودم گفتم چه شیشه ی خوشرنگ و جالبی داره و بذار یه تستی ازش داشته باشم. وقتی در شیشه رو باز کردم که بو کنم، مدهوش شدم از کیفیت و زیبایی این رایحه. بعدش هم عطر رو روی کاغذ بلاتر اسپری کردم و اون روز حدود 15 تا عطر خیلی خوب رو تست کردم و یادمه که از همین عطر بولگاری بیشتر از همه خوشم اومد (البته از دی اند جی پوغ فم هم خیلی خوشم اومد) . خلاصه چند روز گذشت و نمیتونستم از فکر این عطر خارج بشم و تصمیم گرفتم بخرمش. خلاصه دیروز خریدمش و از خریدم راضی هستم. اصولا من از عطرهایی استفاده میکنم که پخش و ماندگاری بالایی داشته باشن. این عطر به این صورت نیست که پخش و ماندگاری خیلی بالایی داشته باشه، ولی اینقدر خوشبو و باکیفیت هست که از خیر پخش و ماندگاری بالا بگذرم. وقتی این عطر رو اسپری میکنم، حدود یکربع تا نیم ساعت بوش پخش میشه و بعدش دیگه میشه یه رایحه ی خیلی ملایم که فقط خودم میتونم حسش کنم (یا اگه کسی نزدیکم بشه یا بغلم کنه) و ماندگاریش روی پوست و لباسم حدود سه تا چهار ساعت هستش که قابل قبوله . به نظرم اگه یه عطر خیلی هم بوش بمونه، واسه ی آدم تکراری میشه و حتی در مواردی ممکنه باعث سردرد بشه، ولی خب ، این عطر بولگاری به نظرم در نهایت دقت و زیبایی ساخته شده و به عاشقان روایح گلی پیشنهاد میکنم که حتما حتما این عطر زیبا رو تست کنن و اگه دوسش داشتن بخرن، چون ممکنه سالهای بعد یا ریفرموله بشه و یا اینکه دیسکانتینیو بشه. در کل این عطر یکی از ده عطر برتر زندگی من هست و شاید هم بهترینشون باشه. خیلی خیلی دوسش دارم. ببخشید اگه توی نوشته هام غلط تایپی ممکنه داشته باشم،چون این متن رو با خستگی فراوان الان تایپ کردم و ساعت از 3 بامداد گذشته. امیدوارم توضیحاتم تونسته باشه به کسانی که این متن رو میخونن کمک کنه. سعی کردم در کمال صداقت بنویسم. مرسی که وقت گذاشتید و خوندید. دوستتون دارم. بوووس بوس

I am in 100% agreement with @marialena888m 's brilliant review, not because I like this perfume, but because her review is accurate regarding the personality of Magnolia Sensuel. She described it perfectly: demure, polite, versatile, inoffensive. However... Because this kind of perfume isn't my tastes, I will also have to agree with a previous reviewer that this is underwhelming to someone like me. I generally have a preference for perfumes that stick to the walls when you walk by. Not necessarily obnoxious, but impactful and noticeable. Magnolia Sensuel isn't that; it is very much a dainty little gem. Like a shy little fairy dressed in a radiant ivory silk dress. This scent evokes visuals of swan's feathers, clean white linens, champagne on a French balcony while catching wafts of delicate white flowers on a spring breeze. It's extremely reminiscent to something the house of Chloe would create. In fact, I would say with certainty that Magnolia Sensuel is the lovechild of Chloe's Chloe EdP and Bvlgari's Omnia Crystalline. The white florals are gentle, and even gentler is the subtle hint of citrus. The vanilla softly cradles the aforementioned notes, then lays them down to rest on a luxurious down-feather comforter that is the whispering musk. The red bottle is such a contrast to this fragrance, really!

Demure and sensual as an evening scent, teasing and coy as a daytime scent, but above all that, it’s subdued, feminine sophistication in a bottle. She’s polite, gracious and radiant. An inoffensive, subtly sweet scent centered around magnolia. You probably won’t be turning heads too much (or maybe you will if you overspray), but those who get a whiff of your perfume will find it very alluring. It dries down slightly powdery and gets abit sweeter with vanilla becoming more noticeable. There is an airy freshness to it that makes it wearable even in the warmer months. This is the perfect ‘sexy’ night-out scent for the more demure introverts, but it also isn’t too much for the office either, it’s quite versatile. Moderate projection and longevity, I need to overspray (on skin and clothes) to get the best performance out of it. Signature scent material if you love magnolia and vanilla. Think of traditional love stories, the hero meeting the lovely ingenue for the first time, this is what she smells like, it is the scent that would be haunting his dreams for the countless nights to come. It’s the perfect first date scent to innocently seduce the one courting you.

So far, I'm very disappointed in this Splendida. I think that rather than supporting the magnolia, the citrus lends a conflicting note. It smells very artificial to me and not remotely as warm and creamy as I had hoped. The orange blossom reinforces that off quality. I do not think that any type of orangish note works well with magnolia, which has a lemony quality. Maybe it requires warmer temperatures, but it has failed to meet my expectations thus far. EDIT 5/25/21 Very happy I gave this both some time to settle and a try in warmer weather. I like it SO MUCH MORE than I first did, quite a bit actually. I take back all I said about the orange/orange blossom discordance. It's quite lovely!

Italians make the best summer scents. All Italians I own perform greatly during summer and in the office. The intensity is just right and they are intricate upon close inspection, no doubt developed in warm weather and anything too much got cut. This is a lovable magnolia with vanilla background. You can also feel demure orange blossom and clean musk at the start. 6hours in and I can still feel magnolia-vanilla. Subtle, but present. The main star has her facets highlighted by other ingredients but the scent is mainly magnolia-vanilla-musk. Very pretty. Indeed there is something sensual about the scent.

This is the first magnolia fragrance I’ve had and I had no idea I loved it so much! It’s such a beautiful scent and I couldn’t put my finger on what it reminded me of until it hit me suddenly. There is something about it that makes it smell like a bath and body works candle or body lotion. That may be a good thing or a bad thing depending who you are. It’s pleasant, unpretentious, I’d put it with anyone of any age. An easy go-to day fragrance that will have you smelling delicious, friendly, and pretty.

It smells like L'Instant EDT, but without the zestiness of mandarine/citrus and with more detectable jasmine and musk. It's like the scent of skin shortly after the shower - sultry, creamy, somewhat vanilic-"cheese-y"? (in a good way) with delicate jasmine note. Similar to saucer magnolia (Magnolia x soulangeana) (but not the same) and Yulan magnolia (Magnolia denudata). Color: Light coral.

I love my Bvlgari/Bulgari & this was another winner - was hesitant about the patchouli which I dislike, but the other sweeter notes tamped it down nicely- a pleasant fresh floral initially, drying down to the bright and happy orange blossom and jasmine note ... I'm actually almost in love with this.. despite the patchouli ...lol

Scent of magnolia and jasmine. Very intimate and beautiful fragrance. Tender tangerine is at the background. Sillage and longevity is moderate on skin, and good enough on the clothes. On the clothes I can smell it all day long. A typical floral scent, not sweet, but pleasant. Really feminine and wonderful!

It is very Bvlgari smelling and very expensive smelling. I like that a lot. A complex white floral. I like how it smells so classy, one can just tell right away that this smells expensive. It's very suitable for autumn. And the red bottle is super pretty. A great perfume.

Oh, what a shame( Hi, L'Instant! On me it opens just like Guerlain's creation. Only without annoying honey. I'm still sure that there are enough notes not to make so alike fragrances. Maybe better launch less fragrances, but unique. Baaaaaaaaaaaad(((

Magnolia sensuel is a beautiful fragrance but sillage and longevity are poor. Half an hour after spraying the scent is completely gone. I have to respray several times to enjoy the scent throughout the day.

I really think that Anna Sui Flight of Fancy smells just like this upon the dry down. So if that's the part that you love and you don't need the tangy orange blossom opening, that's an option for you!

It's floral and quite shampoo like. Very light, basically a skin scent, but longevity is good.

Shouty magnolia open with a strongly soapy, but not unpleasant, dry down. Toes the line of vintage but there is a freshness that keeps it modern.

I didn't liked this one. The opening reminded me of old plant water and some floral aquatic fragrances that i don't like. Later, it gets better. It turns into a sweet, rich magnolia. Really opulent and sensual, but unfortunately, this stage ends quickly. It then gets very citrusy, soapy and a bit bitter. At the very end, i get a musky, creamy vanilla, but the citrus doesn't leave. It also gets a bit powdery. This perfume is not bad made, it smells expensive and mature, but it is nothing for me. But i am sure that people looking for an intense aquatic floral will like this. It is also a good fresh fragrance for winter. It is very cold too, so keep that in mind, and please don't overspray!

Thats awfull. I'm upset and its like old parfum of my mother. I expected more...

Magnolia is pretty loud in this and i am not loving it

Splendida Magnolia Sensuel is a flanker by Bvlgari Splendida perfume line that appeared in 2018. Unlike its predecessors, Splendida Jasmin Noir, Iris d’Or and Rose Rose that were created by Sophie Labbe, known for very successful Armani She and Yves Saint Laurent Parisienne, Magnolia Sensuel is the work of Jacques Cavallier. Pictured as an ode to magnolia flower, a flower that doesn’t last for long but has an intensive aroma that seduces the senses of every living thing on this planet for millions of years. Splendida Magnolia Sensuel composition is simple, floral with mild citrus and musk decorations, like the magnolia flower itself that has mild citrusy undertones. Sadly, this is where the success of this perfume ends. The only good thing is a faithful recreation of magnolia scent in the scent of the perfume and emphasizing the citrus tone by adding tangerine. Occasionally the perfume is too organic like the stale floral scent of the flower shop. The characteristic of a good perfume is to take the scent and lift it to artistic heights, give it some spirit and character, interpret it in a new, original way, make combinations that not only give us unusual way of looking at something we already know but sometimes open our imagination for ideas and harmonies we haven’t seen. Bvlgari Splendida Magnolia Sensuel failed miserably in this and many other aspects. The longevity and the projections are Achilles heel for a number of Bvlgari perfumes. I personally don’t mind that. Not every perfume has to be like an atomic bomb whose effects can be felt through walls, space and time like Hypnotic Poison or Le Male. The lacknes of longevity and projection a perfume has to make up with originality, skillful composition and scent note harmony that make it a perfume and not deodorant or air freshener. In Splendida Magnolia Sensuel case, Bvlgari’s prototype flaws are not fixed and the result is under the average, prosaic, already seen boring, characterless, oudated.... I could go on like this for ever...tiresome and uninspirational perfume. Splendida Magnolia Sensuel is an unworthy surprise from the brand that gave us Bvlgari Black and Jasmin Noir. Magnolia Sensuel, in fact, is not SPLENDID at all.

I had a love at first sight with Magnolia Sensuel because of the bottle colour and the name itself. My attempt to buy this perfume in smaller size failed because of no stock. Then one day I purchase the sample because I decide to buy a new perfume. I don't want to test at the department store because I tend to test many perfume and end up getting confused. I need the sample also to get myself familiar with the scent before I purchase my perfume. My goodness at the first spray I told myself I must get this gem! I use the sample few times then I purchase the big bottle. It is my current favourite and I wear it everyday at any event. Some review said it is more to evening scent but on me it is nice even at the very fresh morning. I am deep in love with this perfume. The scent for me is kind of mature scent but not that 'old lady' kind of scent. I am not good in describing the notes. To me it smells elegant creamy vanilla in a burst of floral bouquet. The vanilla is not sweet like typical perfume with vanilla. It has the hint of sweetness and subtle of jasmine and orange blossom which in other perfume can be bitter. But not in magnolia sensuel. All the notes are like happily combined and compliment each other well. The scent is comforting, you'll feel like a lovely lady with loving and caressing character, yet she is rich, successful, determined and brilliant woman. Sillage is moderate and the longevity is optimum within 4-6 hours but some day it can be longer. I am so in love now

The berry colored release from Bvlgari is targeted towards younger audiences while Iris D'Or and Jasmin Noir seem to be the option of a more adult audience. It lasts at around four-five hours, with sillage close to the wearer. The sprayer on the bottle is very generous with the distribution of the scent so I guess maximum two spritzes are enough to enjoy the scent. From the very beginning you can tell that it's a spring-summer fragrance,especially summer I think. Initially it's a non descript sharp floral green scent. Caramelic, there is that mainstream sweetness running through, a cute, feminine, summery beachy scent. Shampooish even. As it develops it seems to stabilize between young and mature, it's not 16, it's not 45, it's between 22 and 35. An occasional touch of sensuality and the smell of makeup. At one point I thought it jumped out of the '90s. The smell of hairspray. Did Magnolia Sensuel turn out to be more complex than it looked... Give it time to develop really. Only at the end the orange blossom and the acrid waxy magnolia became more prominent. If I had to put a color to this it would be pink. Charming little perfume, polite, discreet, well-mannered. Perfume for a ballerina maybe, I would pair it with ruffle floral print dresses. But I didn't get my white floral dose as much as I wanted to. That's why I won't need it.

I have lived in Southern states where the Magnolia grandiflora thrives since I was a child. It is my favorite tree and favorite flower. There is one in my yard that is 35’ tall, with graceful branches that curve upward like outstretched arms with lifted hands, from the ground to the top. Right now it is covered in buds and blooms the size of dinner plates. Toward sunset as the scent-killing heat lessens, the gentle perfume hangs in the still air. In early morning, fresh with dew, the scent lifts from the flowers and wafts through the air as buds start to open. It’s such a joy. I love to smell the buds that are opening. There is a very soft lemony dimension first to the clean, pure floral. That subtle lemony opening is what no magnolia perfume I’ve ever smelled gets right. It’s either bergamot overkill, a nondescript acidic citrus blend, or it’s nonexistent. I had high hopes for Bulgari Splendida Magnolia Sensuel, given the name, but for me it fails as a magnolia-centric perfume. Nevertheless, it is a lovely floral perfume, softly refined and elegant, if fleeting. I find that it lasts no more than 4 hours, which is not acceptable, and it stays very close to the skin throughout. It’s a disappointment all around. My search continues.

I was very much looking forward to Bvlgari's Splendida Magnolia Sensuel being released in my country, especially seeing that I am yet to find my holy grail Magnolia scent. First things first, that bottle is to die for. The burgundy packaging with its heavy gold lid is very luxurious and classic. If aesthetics were my thing, I would buy this fragrance for the bottle alone. Thankfully the scent is excellent too. The dominant magnolia accord in Splendida Magnolia Sensuel is rich and heavy rather than light and airy. This is a cold weather scent, especially with the somewhat dense drydown, consisting of patchouli, orange blossom, pulpy tangerine and white musk. Sensual, this fragrance most certainly is. Bvlgari has done an excellent job with Splendida Magnolia Sensuel. It has sparked new life into the Splendida range and has provided some much-needed elegance that was severely lacking for a few years as the brand churned out countless 'tropical' inspired Omnia flankers. Those that were expecting a lush white floral may be disappointed, yet I am thrilled with the result. Here's hoping that this latest release will remain part of Bvlgari's permanent line-up for many years to come.

calm composed aloof slightly melancholic somewhere has coolness and makes one introspect. but somehow also narcotic somewhat intoxicating and deeply loving inviting cozy sweet soft.. very heady .. manages to be utterly heartachingly beautiful. So complex well blended with lots of juxtapositions.. different from everything else I have.. reminds me of something from south Asia where i grew up (some flower nature food - i can't put my finger on what it is) Truly a work of art by my beloved perfumer.. I love it. You can tell it was created by the same master who did classique edt but this is more serious and lot classier not at all easygoing playful or cheerful.. Not a safe blindbuy or gift but it is worth the risk if you love feminine deep intoxicating florals with sweet base that is not juvenile. It is not an easy grab and go - it needs one to dress well own confidence self assurance not submit to trends. For some reason it could be a wedding scent on a cloudy day.. It is not one to blend with the ambience it piercingly looks at you right in the eye and commands attention .. it has a mood of its own and you either align or you simply don't
