A surprisingly addicting sweetly fresh warm woods. But really, it's a shapeshifter. Every bottle I've owned is slightly different than the last. Some highlight the vanilla and citrus sweetness, emulating orange creamsicle or lemon bars. Other bottles emphasize the fir needle more; giving it that touch of green and lime and earthy woody freshness. Those bottles have a greener tint in the juice, and that's my preferred iteration. No matter the mix, the natural orange and lemon and fir needle oils are a lovely pop of life. The brightness of bergamot or neroli shifts into soft fresh sweetness and a lasting warmth. I'm generally not a fan of vanilla in fragrance and I typically avoid it — but against all odds, this has become a staple. Without the vanilla, this fragrance wouldn't have that sweet warmth. I'm always on the hunt for arid-but-fresh warm citrus woods. When I can't find what I seek and hit a wall, I often come back to Lake. It's a welcome retreat for my fragrance-sensitive nose. Not loud, but that's what I love. It doesn't enter a room before you do and it doesn't have a heavy perfume cloud. It just smells nice and fresh and pleasant. This is a natural, happy, relaxing warm wood.

I really love this one. I got the sampler pack and really loved this one. I am hoping that the EDP would be more fragrant than the oil, but am scared to spend the money if its not, because the scent from the oil is very weak in sillage and longevity (I have found this to be true with some of their other scents too...and the reviews on the website are stellar for this scent, so I'm hopin'). The scent is reminiscent of my childhood home, somehow...and I love it. May be worth it just for that. Vanillic, citrus and woody. If anyone has experience with the EDP please let me know how it wears :) Edit : I bought it. Love the smell but I have to spray is about 50 times to get a faint aroma that lasts a couple of hours :( will not be repurchasing. Edit edit: Just kidding. I will be repurchasing. I love this scent SO much. I wish wish wish byrosiejane could make this a bit stronger, but otherwise it is my most perfect scent.

The scent is gorgeous. It smells like lemon powdered sugar girl scout cookies, lemon meringue pie, pine trees, and the woods. I've seen other reviews say it smells like lime but to me it smells more like lemon. Lake is such a refreshing perfume. A little bit of the citrus dissipates after a couple hours but the pine and sweet vanilla stay throughout the entirety of the fragrance. The lasting power is unfortunate, but is far better on clothes and hair than on skin. The liquid is also quite oily just like all of By Rosie Jane's perfumes. That isn't something that bothers me but it's worth noting. The scent is so incredible that its at the top of my wishlist despite its poor longevity. Layering this with the oil may help but I haven't tried that yet. Update: I was able to try G Water today and I can confirm that they are similar.

My favourite scent is Gypsy Water, so I was pleasantly surprised by how similar the dry down is on both of these. The main difference for me is the opening. Gypsy water has the cool spicy opening, pine needles and smoky incense. Lake opens with a slightly screechy lemon, but quickly settles into the same warm woody vanilla base as GW. If you’re looking for a more affordable alternative to GW, I think this is the best option. Much more similar than Tocca Colette, which is far more powdery and floral to my nose. Edit: I’ve since bought this fragrance and really love it in its own right. A very easy fragrance to wear and with such an amazingly similar dry down to Gypsy Water (at a lower price). I feel much more comfortable over spraying this one!

Initial spray I was immediately reminded of Tocca Colette & Byredo G Water. However, there are some key differences that actually leave me preferring Lake! Colette is a bit more powdery overall but is a scent I have loved for years. While G Water has a peppery note in the opening that gives it a much more commanding presence. Lake however has a soft citrus in the opening that highlights the vanilla and neroli in such a lovely way. It is the orange in a creamsicle that somehow makes the vanilla even better. I adore Lake and want to buy it in every form. The only thing I would change is the longevity. HOT TIP: Wear with Lush Therapy Massage Bar. The scent goes SO WELL together and makes it last so much longer.

I love a good skin scent and this one delivers! When I want to smell good without smelling like "perfume" this is what I reach for. It's just a calming, soft, smooth, freaking beautiful scent. I used to have Gypsy Water and I do find this smells very similar to that, only Lake is a bit better. More feminine and sweet. There's something nostalgic in the way this smells - almost like how a babydoll's head smelled back in the day. There's definitely an innocence to this perfume but at the same time there's something alluring and sensual about it. Like being at a carnival at night with your new boyfriend. Playful, sweet and sexy. It's a very soft vanilla citrus, nothing sharp or overbearing. 10/10

When I first sprayed this on my wrist, I swear my pupils probably dilated with delight. It’s so beyond lovely. It’s delicately beautiful. It’s somehow fresh, fruity & fantastically warm all at the same time. It feels like this scent would make the ultimate best impression. It wouldn’t offend any nose. Upon first spray I got bergamot, citrus fruits, VANILLA, a fresh, herbal green note, and then a lovely sandalwood finish lingering with the vanilla. I’m usually not a fan of sandalwood at all, but this is different. It’s so pleasant and feels high quality. My only wish is that it lasted a little longer and projected a bit more. Regardless it’s one of my favorite scents ever.

If you’re a fan of Gypsy Water, D&G Devotion or even Lush’s Super Milk, you’ll likely enjoy this. It starts off quite citrusy but it becomes much more of a creamy, sweet citrus and vanilla upon dry down. It’s zesty, in a vanilla + candied citrus way while somehow still being very soft and pretty. While you can definitely smell the vanilla, it’s not super vanilla forward like you might expect as it has an airy quality to it, plus the neroli and lemon keep it quite fresh. This is a great summer scent but could be worn year round. I love to wear this with by Rosie Jane’s Dulce when I want to make it sweeter. Amazing combination.

This scent is my favorite smell I have found so far, but it only lasts a very short while. I think 2 hours is the most that it lasting on skin and maybe 4 on clothes, but it somehow did stay on my coat so I don't know why that it is. This has been described as lemon icing or creamsicle. It does have that scent, but the sandalwood makes if feel like eating a creamsicle while wearing diamonds. Its so fresh and sparkling. Lake is fresh, sparkling, beautiful, and peaceful. I think I have sadly concluded that it is gone too fast to be worth the price, but I cant stop smelling it.

So this is my new favourite fragrance and I can tell it’s going to stick for awhile. If you like creamy citrus but also something that has a masculine undertone, this is for you. It dries down to such a gorgeous unique scent almost like if your boyfriend baked a lemon pie and had put on a sexy men’s deodorant like hours before. It’s very subtle, super sophisticated, and like nothing I’ve ever smelled. I literally cannot stop smelling myself when I wear this. It’s perfectly sexy but also personal and appropriate. I could go on.

Just like my beloved gypsy water but more cost effective so I don't mind spraying with abandon. Sweet, woody, a touch gourmand. Like a warm hug, one of those scents that melts stress and makes you want to curl up in a blanket. This is perfection. Moderate sillage and long lasting on my skin. I notice the spray is a bit oily? Maybe that's why it lasts on me. Recommend to other gypsy water lovers.

It’s funny how scents sit so differently on people! A lot of reviews on this one are saying how sweet the citrus is here, almost like a creamsicle smell. For me this is such a woody, airy, citrus scent. I do agree with others that it is a perfect year-round fragrance. Longevity isn’t amazing on me, but it’s perfect for an everyday wear!

This was a love at first sniff for me. While I wouldn't describe this scent as full on gourmand or too sweet, it still reminded me of a certain orange cream cookie I ate as a kid. I don't get lemon or citrus zest; it's mostly orange flavoring in the best way possible. If you want to smell like a sexy orange creamsicle, this might be it.

Why does no one talk about this?! I just discovered it and it may very well become my signature scent. It’s everything I want in a fragrance. Citrusy, woody, slightly sweet and creamy. It lasts all day on my skin and I get whiffs of it throughout the day. So good.

She smells like a creamsicle or a light lemon loaf. Creamy vanilla with a light citrus blend makes this delightful and different from other vanilla scents. Love! A favorite from the By Rosie Jane sample set I got. I love Dulce as well, but this is a lot lighter.

up to the nose, it smells like a photo-realistic lemon icing, specifically the one on the starbucks lemon loaf! it's a delicious gourmand to me, i don't quite get the cedar or sandalwood but i do love to layer it with jo malone wood sage and sea salt

If you look at the ingredients list on the by Rosie Jane website the notes aren’t exactly reflective of what is listed. There is (in order of most concentrated): Fir Needle Oil Ambroxan Orange Peel Oil Lemon Peel Oil Vanillin Iso e Super

By Rosie Jane are perfect fragrances for those sensitive noses and don't bring on headaches if you suffer from that issue. They're all quite light and airy. This one's a citrusy lemon and vanilla.

Woody, airy, citrus. My second favourite by rosie jane scent (Dulce being my fav). A lovely light woody scent that reminds me of walking to dinner in the warmth after spending the day at the lake.

this scent just makes me so happy, I get the lemon vanilla and sandalwood. and like most by Rosie Jane scents it’s perfect for everyday and never sets off my asthma.

Sweet, delicious lemon cookies! This is what I wanted D&G Devotion to be. Desserty but not too heavy - the airiness that lemon deserves and needs imo.

Yes, I smell like an orange creamsicle and I love it. Longevity is not ideal, but I don’t mind one bit because I just love this scent so much.

Over the years I have seen many fragrances dubbed "orange creamsicle." If that is your jam, this is your juice!

Bright, sparkling lemon with a woodsy vanilla dry down. Definitely a skin scent but I find it to be beautiful.

Bright, sweet, warm, woody, creamy, and happy. Such a lovely fragrance! Although, at first I wasn’t entirely sure that I liked it. The scent I smelled at the immediate spray was very lemony and citrusy. However, it quickly changed as soon as it started to settle and continued to become even more beautiful during the dry down. I do pick up on all of the notes, however I find that the citruses, bergamot, and neroli are the most prominent at first. After about 15 minutes they become less prominent while the vanilla and sandalwood start to become more prominent. They all kind of even out after about 30-45 minutes and create this really beautiful, sweet, warm, and woody vanilla and sandalwood scent with bright citruses. BRJ says that Lake feels like “sleeping under the stars”. Overall, I enjoy this fragrance very much! I think this is one of those fragrances that is a pretty easy reach, works well year round, and works nicely for any age group. It’s inoffensive, very pretty, and would be a good option for most occasions... casual, the office/work, date night, and more. This would also make a lovely choice for a signature fragrance! I get great performance with Lake. The longevity is very good on me, it lasts throughout the whole day. The projection is nice too, it radiates out at least an arm’s length from me. I also wanted to mention that Lake does remind me somewhat of Dolce & Gabbana Devotion. They both have that sweet and creamy vanilla with a bright citrus. However, I do prefer Lake as it seems a little more elegant to me, a little less gourmand, and I enjoy the woody accords of it that Devotion doesn’t have. I also think Devotion has a stronger lemon/citrus scent on me, but I prefer the citrus in Lake as it’s more equal to and balanced with the other notes.

From the name, I was expecting an aquatic fragrance, but this is a woody citrus scent. First time I tried it in late spring, it was mostly lemon with a hint of woods in the background. Put in on today, when the temperature was in the mid 90's with high humidity, and the woods dominated over the citrus. Now, I completely get the lake vibe. Due to the weather or my skin chemistry, the woods took on an old, damp, almost mildewy quality that immediately took me back to spending childhood summers at our family cabin in the lake- it's the smell of a lake cabin freshly opened for the season, airing out the dampness from being closed up all winter with a bit of lemon floor cleaner scrubbed into the kitchen. It is also the exact scent of the cabin in my dad's boat- old damp wood mixed with the scent of lemon Mr. Clean that was used to scrub it down. I would definitely wear the warm weather iteration a lot- a fresh unisex made a little warm by the soft woods. But I'd wear the hot weather version only at home. It's too atmospheric to wear in public- I don't want to subject anyone else to something that almost smells like mildew. But it brings me back to one of the best parts of my childhood and for me that mildewy dankness makes it beautifully nostalgic.

I reviewed this fragrance earlier and was a bit critical of it before I had given it some time and extensive wear. For a Gypsy Water "dupe" I was expecting a much more woody, pine needle, even pepper forward scent— a forest feel true to its woody and aromatic accords, that eventually evolves into a soft and powdery skin scent reminiscent of walking near a creek while wearing an oversized cotton hoodie and denim jacket on a crisp autumn day. I don't like the initial spray. This is very creamsicle forward, at least in the first 30 minutes, upon which it develops into a more subtle powdery, sandalwood and vanilla-ish skin scent. The dry down is lovely; It's been hours since I sprayed it and I can't stop sniffing my arm. The only issue is that it sits pretty close to the skin and is virtually undetectable to anyone else. I guess the dry down smells similar to Gypsy Water, although the initial spray of Gypsy Water is what made me love the scent. Another user wrote that Lake is the "fresher & brighter younger sister to Gypsy Water"; I agree it has a juvenile, girlish quality to it. If you're a fan of Gypsy Water's base notes, (as I am) I think you'll love this scent.

This may sound like a funny comparison but it smells exactly like the sparklers bottle girls bring to tables at the club. Not in the burning musty way, but the way that the smoke lingers in the air afterward mixed with the fancy perfumes from your girlfriends at the table! It instantly took me back to those fun nights out, which was unexpected. I like it a lot! The woody note is the most prominent but not overpowering. Vanilla is the second most noticeable, it does not smell synthetic and blends evenly with the woodiness. The citrus is not as strong but also blends nicely. I think all three balance each other out. I usually would not be too interested in notes like these in combination but this one is an exception. I also pick up a champagne note, but I think it is just all of the notes together creating this unintentionally! By far I think this is the best by Rosie Jane. I don't think it has strong sillage or lasting power but if you overspray or layer it would be perfect. I will pick up a travel size!

I'm still determining my thoughts on this one as a fragrance for me personally, but upon initial spray I got a woody citrus fragrance that almost had a bit of effervescence- like a fizzy gingerale/orange soda. As it settles, i begin to get a bit more of the vanilla with citrus but it still does have a tiny bit of a citronella vibe in the background- not totally like bug spray but it does remind me of camping in the woods. I seem to get a bit more of a sharper than sweeter citrus, like a lemongrass/ginger with lime and a little sugar. Like an outdoorsy mojito? lol I like it a bit better than Bohemian Lime which was a little too masculine for me, but think this is actually a bit more of a summer scent. edited: on me this lasted about 3 hrs total, towards the end it turned purely key lime pie in scent on me. This fragrance wore close to the skin with low projection

Delicious perfume, such a juicy but also creamy orange creamsicle scent. Really smooth and soft, with the sandalwood. Mouthwatering in the opening. So nice that this is a natural scent that is also gourmandish. The drydown is more woody and musky with a soft vanilla, and really does resemble Gypsy Water. Lake is not strong, but I do smell its presence for longer than I expect. I would say it has moderate performance. I've really enjoyed wearing the travel spray this summer, it's good for close quarters and doesn't bother anyone. The citrus in here smoothes out as it wears so it just smells clean, softly sweet and musky in the heat.

Purchased this as a blind buy online through the Sephora sale in the travel size. First spray was this bright lemon citrus that is fresh and not too sweet or too tart. As it dried down the vanilla and amber hits you. Was wearing it for a few hours and kept getting whiffs of it and it smelled so familiar. A few hours later it hits me on what this smells like... it smells like Gold by Commodity! So citrus opening then it goes away and end up being Gold expressive. I like it

At first all I get is lemon zest but it dries down to a slightly woody sweet citrus. I actually really like it but then I don't own many citrus scents to compare. I was worried at first but it's lovely once it dries down a bit. I just wish it would last longer, fragrances tend to last at least 6 hours on me but with this I only get 2-3 hours and then it's either gone or I at least turn nose blind to it.

This may be a strange comparison but this fragrance smells almost identical to the original Sukin deodorant. It sits very close to the skin and I really enjoy how the vanilla rounds out and tones down some of the citrus notes. I normally tend not to enjoy very zesty scents but the vanilla note in this makes it much more enjoyable to my nose!

An orange creamsicle, but soft and comforting rather than stickily, sharply sweet. Both pretty and whimsical, Lake smells like happy memories. Unfortunately, it lasts under an hour on my skin (even with heavy-handed applicated and moisturizer). And I can't think of when I'd actually want to smell like a creamsicle?

I'm wearing Lake right now and picking up on Sandalwood and vanilla mainly. Citrus isn't jumping out at me at all (and I wouldn't have thought of creamsicle)! It's nice and it's fine. I like it but don't love it. I find it a bit flat and therefore boring. But it's not bad.

I get very little woodiness from this. Straight lemon and vanilla. I do get some subtle body odor notes in the opening which is unpleasant. This is one of the few fragrances that doesn’t give me a headache so if you are sensitive then this brand is a nice one to consider.

Very similar to G Water from Byredo. It’s the perfect scent to wear year round and has a woody element to it that makes it very unisex. It’s gorgeous! I’ve gone through 2 travel sizes and currently working on a full bottle. I’m a huge fan of By / Rosie Jane

Wow, I immediately liked this one as soon as I applied it! It starts out as creamy orange vanilla and quickly dries down into a woody scent. It makes me think of eating orange creamsicles while hanging out in a cedarwood cabin.

zero aromatics and woods for me. to my nose, it is basically Akro Bake — vanilla lemon cake. was disappointed, as i was looking for something more like G Water. a bit sweet for me personally, but still enjoyable.

I think you have to use the oil and layer it with the fragrance to get the fragrance to last. I like this one, but my only gripe is that I wish all of the Rosie Jane frags would last longer.

Adding a vote for this being an absolute Byredo/Tocca dupe. Much closer to GW than Colette, which is softer and more powdery. The lemon and vanilla in this are beautiful.

This is a very nice citrusy sweet scent. In my opinion this is priced too high but the quality is definitely there. Leans feminine but any guy could pull it off too.

How sublime! Unisex to me but what a fresh, lemony citrus, and not a straight gourmand. It has a bit of a lake moss scent in the dry down. Such a good fragrance.

Smells like Girl Scout lemonade cookies. After a few hours of wear becomes less citrus and more creamy vanilla wood. I love her! Brings back memories for me.

Really nice sandalwood fragrance, good for year round, would be a good office fragrance. It's not loud or screechy, I find it calming and a little sweet.

Beautifully blended and the vanilla chills in the background so it’s not cloying. One of the brands best ones!

I haven’t seen anyone say this, but this smells exactly like Diptyque Tam Dao EDP!

This smells identical to lemon poppyseed cookies.

Sweet vanilla orange. Dreamsicle.

Some oils are pleasant on the skin and some are sticky and overly heavy. This is right in the middle of that spectrum. The way it feels on the skin isn't disqualifying, but it is shinier than I'd prefer. It starts with less than arms length radiation with a generous application and is down to skin scent in half an hour. The bergamot opening is nice for the five minutes that it lasts. The vanilla and sandalwood base is very gentle, a soft and unassuming scent, faintly powdery. Usually oils have some endurance, but I blew through an entire 1ml sample in four hours just repeatedly reapplying so there would be some hint I was wearing perfume. No one else in my household could tell that I had it on. I'm not a performance queen, but I prefer a little more from my perfume than it delivers. It's a nice scent, office safe, small space safe, not at all aggressive.
