Angels' Share

I LOVE this fragrance. A few weeks ago I was fortunate enough to get a sample of both Angel's Share and Roses on Ice. When I returned home, I sprayed my right hand with Angel's Share and my left with Roses on Ice. Roses on Ice is beautiful but I feel as though it leans more feminine but Angel's Share just blew me away. I could not stop smelling my right hand. After about 30 minutes, my mind was made up. I e-mailed the By Kilian specialist at my local Holt Renfrew to put aside a bottle for me as I would only be able to return to the store the next weekend. He replied back and with pleasure, said he would save me a bottle. But it was the last one in stock at any of the Holt Renfrews. He was getting e-mails and calls from other Holt's around Canada, asking him for the bottle he had in stock and he refused, as he had already promised his last bottle to me. Seeing how this is sold out everywhere you look, I'm very thankful and appreciative to him for hiding away the bottle for me. When I went to the store last Saturday to pick up the bottle, he had literally hidden it in the bottom of one of the cupboards of his booth, at the bottom of a shopping bag in which he was storing tester cards, so that no one would find it and sell it when he wasn't at work. He went above and beyond to make sure that bottle was mine and I am thrilled and feel extremely blessed to own it. It is my first By Kilian and to date, the most expensive fragrance in my collection. Now, on to the performance. On my skin, this stuff is a beast. It radiates a good 5-6 feet away. It leaves an intoxicating scent trail as I walk and it lasts FOREVER. It was my scent of the day yesterday (Friday) and this morning as I am typing this, I am STILL catching wafts of it, although much fainter, over 24 hours after spraying it. In fact, it is actually 27 hours since I first sprayed it on. So, even though it is by far the most expensive perfume in my collection, ($300 CAD for 50ml), a little goes a LONG way, which makes this a much better value than some other perfumes that were much less expensive but last a fraction of the time. I am in love with this fragrance. Boozy, woody, sweet, sexy. It is just absolutely perfect for this time of year. I don't think you could pull this off in the warmer months because the sweetness might get cloying but during the colder parts of fall, spring and definitely throughout the winter, this fragrance will cut through the cold and make a huge impression on everyone around you. In my opinion, this is an absolute masterpiece. 10/10 fragrance.

I originally wrote two long-winded reviews for Angels' Share, but I think it's best to be concise. Angels' Share is a wonderful, enchanting gourmand; it's boozy, beautifully sweet, and smells like warm, spiced cinnamon rolls doused in thick, cognac-laced syrup. Somehow, it manages to be sweet and heavy without being cloying or nauseating. There is a quality to it that lends to some versatility (possibly the woodiness); crazy as it may be, I love this fragrance too much to wear it only in the cold. It is addictive and impossible not to reach for. The performance from Angels' Share is also incredible - it lasts forever on clothes (beyond 24 hours - the scent remains on my clothes a week after washing them), 12+ hours on skin, projects very well, and leaves a wonderful scent trail. All this without being too strong or too commanding; it doesn't fill the room obnoxiously, but remains noticeable. There is something about this fragrance that I just cannot get enough of. I haven't smelled a single other fragrance that comes close to being as captivating, compelling, and intoxicating as this fragrance. The more I wear it, the more I want to smell like Angels' Share 24/7. Update: I've been wearing this fragrance constantly, even when I sleep. I put it on after I shower before work, reapply on my lunch break, reapply when I come back home at the end of the day, and often reapply in the mid-evening, even if I'm alone and staying home. I spray it on my shirt and skin after I shower at night, and before bed I apply it to my sheets and pillow. I decided to purchase a 100ml bottle online last night since I use AS so much. It's an expensive addiction ($500 worth of AS in the last 5 weeks), but one I'm happy to sustain. I do hope I get over this infatuation at some point - both for my wallet, and because I literally don't wear any of my other fragrances. Even worse, when I sample new fragrances (which I do daily; I buy tons of decants), I am often disappointed because I'm unconsciously comparing them to Angels Share. I don't know what they put in this fragrance or why it so compels me. I guess it's good that I found a favorite scent, but I do wish I were more attracted to "versatile" fragrances, as opposed to a $300, warm, sweet, boozy scent that most would classify as a "winter fragrance." Still, I plan to wear this all summer long. However, I decided to purchase one of the only fresh fragrances I like, Gentle Fluidity Silver by MFK, to see if forcing myself to wear that instead of Angels' Share can break the spell.

I have never written a review before. But after 350ml of this, I couldn’t resist. I have been using Angels’ Share for a while now. I cried the first time I smelled it. It smells nostalgic. It smells like that perfect day from your childhood. It is winter break and life is good. School is over and it is snowing outside. You wake up in the morning to the smell of your grandma’s warm cinnamon buns. Straight out of oven. You can’t resist and take a bite, although your mom is telling you that you should finish breakfast first. Everything is perfect. The gifts are under the tree. Your granddad sitting on his wooden rocking chair smoking a pipe. Your little sister watching old Disney Christmas animated films (Chip and Dale to be accurate). Your father preparing your sled as your mother is helping you wear your winter clothes. Life is good. You go out at the usual time to play with your friends. You play till the warm lights come on. From building a snowman to sledging down a hill. Nostalgia has a way of incorporating weeks of activities in a single memory of a single day. You come back to a warm home as the ice melts off your gloves. Your dad and grandpa are having a cognac by the fireplace while they talk about topics you couldn’t care less about, nevertheless, you’re still happy to be there. Your grandma is knitting and your sister is asleep on the couch. Your mother helps you put on your pyjamas — the ones with letters and numbers and you sit by your dad and eat the last cinnamon left. Later you get carried to bed as you fell asleep watching Mickey’s Christmas Carol. Life will never be as good as it is right in this moment. You just don’t know it yet.

I smelled this perfume at Sephora and didn’t expect it to transport me so completely, as if space and time had briefly unraveled around me. I almost had to grab the display counter to catch my balance! I rarely experience this when testing a new fragrance, and I am always surprised when it happens. Suddenly, I am an 18-year-old free spirit again, back in the days before social media domination. It’s summertime, which means I have all the time in the world. On a hot afternoon, I wander through my favorite dim little bohemian shop in the city, crowded with treasures from the past and distant places. A handwritten sign warns that stealing will affect my karma, but I have never even heard the word before and have no idea what it means. And anyway, I was not planning on stealing anything. The air inside is thick with incense smoke, both freshly burning and long absorbed into every fiber of the vintage clothes, leaving behind a soft aroma that reminds me a little of cinnamon. I pick out a classic houndstooth mod jacket that I will later destroy beautifully with holes and safety pins. That evening, I joined my friends. I am sitting in an dark bar, talking to an older boy while slowly sipping cognac on ice. I choose the drink because I want to seem more mature than I really am, but at the same time I really like it. The wooden floors are sticky beneath our shoes, and outside by the smoking terrace, the summer air is heavy with heat, smoke, and possibilities. Thank you, Angel's Share, for bringing back such vivid memories of my youth.

Angel's Share doesn't smell like booze. It smells like the lie we tell ourselves about booze. Not the burn going down, but the story you tell afterward. The version where every bad decision becomes a great anecdote because enough cinnamon and vanilla have been poured over the memory. This is what luxury does. It caramelizes regret. The opening is all cognac soaked oak and sugared spice, loud enough to make you think you're getting something dangerous. Then the sweetness settles in. Praline. Tonka. Sandalwood. The edges are sanded smooth until what's left is comfort wearing the costume of excess. It's beautiful. Almost too beautiful. Angel's Share is the fragrance equivalent of inherited wealth pretending it built itself from nothing. It wants credit for surviving hardships it only ever read about. You wear it because it makes you feel older, richer, wiser than you actually are. Because confidence, like fragrance, only has to convince people for a few feet. The trick is that it works. It isn't rebellious. It isn't challenging. It's a cashmere blanket stitched to a flask of expensive cognac. It wraps indulgence in elegance until nobody remembers they're the same thing. That's the angel's share. Not the whiskey that evaporates from the barrel, but the part of yourself you're willing to lose if it means smelling this good.

This might be one of my favorite fragrances ever. I tried this out in store and proceeded to spend the next 5 minutes trying to think of the name of the Christmas dessert that this reminded me of with little success. Either way, it’s extremely reminiscent of the holiday season to me. It’s very boozy, sweet and cinnamonsy. There’s a drunk quality to it, but a vintage and expensive drunkenness. It’s like being a drunk sensual woman but in the 1950s. It’s also extremely complex. I’d wear it as a woman but say it’s unisex. The notes on it keep changing for the first few hours of wearing it and the scent progression is beautiful. I figured this with most Kilian fragrances but it really does smell like it’s high quality, I don’t get artificial notes from it or the usual top-alcohol smell. This also comes with the benefit of having the best lasting power out of Kilians. I put this on a different wrist as LDBS and this outlasted it by 6 hours. It’s a delicious, sophisticated, sweet, wintery and mysterious fragrance. Tbh this is what BR430 dreamed of being as a child and never got to. I’ll have to look into how I’m going to afford a bottle of this in Fall. Edit: just to add that I've found the test trip from almost 48 hours ago at the bottom of my bag and the smell is still quite strongly there. Wow.

If you go to Angels Share thinking it is a simple perfume you are really missing out on how great it is. Benoist Lapouza did a job creating this. It is not a sweet smell it is actually a really good example of how different textures and temperatures can be used in a perfume. When you first put it on it does not just smell like cognac it actually smells like the real thing evaporating. It has a sharp smell that you can really notice and it is balanced by a smell that is like old wood. The wood smell is really important because it stops the smell from being too much. As the smell changes the cinnamon and tonka bean make it feel really smooth. What makes Angels Share different from sweet perfumes is that it does not feel too heavy. It feels like a golden light on your skin rather, than a thick syrup. The smells of praline and vanilla that come later are not cheap or too sweet they are actually really deep and rich. They stay on your clothes for a time and make you smell really sophisticated. Angels Share is a perfume but it is really elegant. It is not afraid to be expensive and fancy. It is put together perfectly. I think Angels Share is a great example of a modern perfume and I would give it a perfect score. Angels Share is really something.

angel share is gourmand perfection. an earth shattering, mouth watering fragrance that i think must be smelt by every fragrance fanatic at some point in their life. it's a comforting vanilla with a very enjoyable balance of spice that makes for a warm and sweet cider impression to me. i can get the apple pie smell people talk about but i think thats too simple for how complex and layered angel share is. i think everyone needs to smell it themselves. this smells equally amazing on males and females. i smelt it first on my boyfriend and oh my goodness. FERAL. i wanted to eat that man. he ended up buying the full bottle and gifting me the rest of his .33oz travel spray. i make sure we don't wear it at the same time though! the sillage on him was incredible, i'd get whiffs of him for HOURS. when i wear it he describes it just as highly as i do on him. long lasting, good projection and delectable as hell. our impressions of the dry down smell are very similar as well. we have both received very high praise on the scent from other people as well! if you're looking to turn heads, maybe get a little attention and love gourmands look no further!

This very quickly became the scent people know me by. I don't really talk about compliments in my reviews too much (you can fact check me) but this is something truly special. People have stopped and asked me what I am wearing, the girl I am dating became interested in me because of this scent which is every fragrance collectors wet dream. I was out with my girlfriend and as we were walking out of the bar three girls stopped us and asked me to tell them what I was wearing since they said got a whiff of it when I passed by their table earlier. God even my ex at a company event told me how nice I smell. Besides the compliment overdose this fragrance gives me 4 sprays last me 12-14 hours easy. Extremely well blended scent I fell in love with the moment I tried it at a sephora went back the next day to buy it. Vanilla ain't cheap smelling in this one, typically I get a vanilla extract vibe from some vanilla notes but this mouth watering affect to it that makes you want to eat something when you smell it (sounds strange but its the best way I can describe the vanilla). Longevity- 10/10 Performance- 10/10 Scent itself IMO- 11/10

This fragrance might be a 10/10. It's a delicious and boozy gourmand fragrance with vanilla and praline. The warm spiciness from the cinnamon mixed with the boozy cognac is comforting and cozy reminiscent of winter holidays. The performance of this fragrance is quite long lasting, staying on skin for 10+ hours after only 4 sprays applied. The sillage is also strong, being able to fill a small room. I would definitely suggest to only wear this in colder heat (<15°) or at night times. This is a wonderful and addictive date night fragrance but can also be worn for special occasions, with the rich blend of spices, congac, vanilla, and oak. A truly beautiful fragrance overall. Although overpriced, this is still a very good fragrance although I wouldn't reccomend it as a blind buy or as an introduction into gourmand fragrances for a beginning collector. The plastic bottle is a bit underwhelming considering the $500+ retail price, but I don't regret this purchase in the slightest. This can be a bit intense in the opening for people within arms reach so be aware of that, especially in warmer temperatures.

One of my favorites -- I got a full bottle for my birthday after wanting it for so long. The first day I ever wore it, I immediately got an indirect compliment when my coworker walked by and said, "WHAT SMELLS THAT GOOD?!" I had her come smell my wrist, and it was that. This scent is literally eternal on clothing. I spray a couple on my wrists and one down my shirt. Once, I wore it on a shirt that I forgot was dirty. When I grabbed it the next time, about a week later, it still smelled strongly of Angels Share. This stuff will perform, and that is a fact. Bubble is significant and it projects, whether you realize it or not. It is very indulgent -- a special occasion scent or for when I am really feeling myself. But only in cold weather. Perfect winter holiday scent, and I look forward to winter coming back around for this scent. I tried to get a dupe because the price is ROUGH. I got Zimaya Sharaf Blend, and while that is impressive for the price, it did not scratch the itch that smelling Angels Share created in me. I knew I had to have it. Definitely smell it if you can.

I’m not usually a spicy girlie...but there are some exceptions. Fresh spicy I can do if it involves something green or gingery. I can also do spicy if it has something to cut it, like a soft musk. I’m a fan of Like This by ELDO, and it is a fall spicy scent, with cinnamon and ginger, but also musk and helichrysum to elevate it into something more complex. In the description of Like This it describes how Swinton wanted to develop something that smelled like home. And in the drydown it really gives that comfort and warmth with some softness. You think of the mixtures of things within the home that make up the smell. Anyways - Angels Share also has that balance. It’s a spicy perfume, but it is balanced intelligently and has that “home” complexity. Perhaps a cinnamon candle and a fireplace going, cedar blocks in the closets, cashmere sweaters and a faint floral smell in the distance (the wife’s perfume)...all amounting to one person’s unique home smell. That’s why I love this one.

What a day with this fragrance today! I’ve been wearing this for about a month. I had received a few compliments but nothing like today. Received 3 unsolicited compliments. First one I was at state and liberty picking up a suit and the female who was helping me said I smell amazing and I told her what the fragrance was and she looked it up and ordered it right there on the spot. About a half hour later I was returning something at Banana republic and the cashier said he has to know what I’m wearing. He was wearing a mask and was across the counter from me. I couldn’t believe he could smell it with a mask and about five feet from me. The final compliment I was walking into the store and a guy walking behind me said “What are you wearing Prada”? I told him what it was and asked if I had too much on and he said “ not at all”. Love days like this when your scent is on fire getting compliments left and right.

Angels' Share is a beautifully inviting boozy gourmand fragrance that has incredible performance and longevity. This is a fragrance which truly shines for date nights and winter time specifically, the quality of perfumery is genuinely incredible. Even with the extreme social media hype over the past few years on this fragrance, it truly does not disappoint. Having experienced Kismet Magic and Royal Blend I knew I would 100% be a big fan of this, but in reality not a single one gets even close to the real thing to my nose. Kismet Magic is closer out of the two in my experience, but still I would only really say its about 80-85% in similarity compared to the real thing. The quality of perfumery along with the incredible performance absolutely justifies the higher end price point in my opinion. In conclusion, Angels' Share to my nose is an absolute stunner and would be nothing less than an 8.5/10!

So... Angels' Share like a you are standing in that magical "in-between" space. Outside the window, the last of the amber maple leaves are clinging to the branches. Inside, the fireplace is crackling, drying the damp evening air. It’s not just a perfume; it’s a layer for the soul 🍂. When the angels speak in this fragrance, they whisper: Initial surpris is Cognac,greeting that feels like a gift🧚. Sugar-free chocolate vibe, while the notes list praline, on your skin it manifests as a dark, sophisticated cocoa. This is the "snack by the fire" rich, but not cloying. Sandalwood and vanilla base that feels like a warm blanket once the "hair has dried." Evening falls, the fireplace hums against the cold. Between the leaf and falling snow and you carry warmth wherever you go. Between the leaf and falling snow, you carry warmth wherever you go. What ever you want from angels..

Overall the scent itself is nothing short of lovely. It's the chemistry that lies between a magnetic woman and her drink of choice. True to form, it opens with the thick, syrupy smell of cognac and melts into something lighter and slightly less sweet. Rest assured you will receive compliments from anyone who smells you. I used to think it smelled like apple pie but now it smells more like the candied almond note in that regard. My only complaints is that the lasting power is disappointing given its price. You can spray it on top of skin with a light coat of Vaseline, but the sillage will fade to something barely perceivable no matter what in about 5 hours. Initial sillage is decent. I don't need the people in the next room to smell me so it's okay, but if you're used to the sheer power of Arab perfumes like me be prepared for something different 😂😂

I LOVE this. It has been my signature perfume for two years. On me, I get a lot of the cognac, the cinnamon, the tonka bean, the oak. It smells almost like a boozy, a tiny bit woody, apple pie for some reason. It is delicious, super complex and delicious. It smells warm, and sexy and just really, really good. Everyone around me loves it, and I have received so many compliments on this. Hands-down, my favourite scent. To me, the dry down is great, I get the praline, the vanilla the oak. I don't really get any almond or much sandal wood. Once it starts to fade (after many hours), however it gets this more spicy, woody, musky quality, that I don't always like. I feel like as it ages, it has become a little more spicy as well. It is definitely exactly what it is advertised as, and in winter, I think it is absolutely unbeatable.

Angel's Share is the most luxurious gourmand I own. Opens up with warm apples, covered with caramelized brown sugar, and lots and lots of cinnamon. Warm apple pie, straight from the oven. When the pie cools down, you can smell warm woods - almost that sauna smell, mixed with the scents of a christmas fair - wafts of candied apples and caramelized nuts. And open fires? It smells a little bit toasy or burnt, and I mean that in the good way. I don't get dried fruit/grapes/raisin for the cognac at all, only apples. And it's not nearly as boozy as the packaging suggests, but if any I'd say its more calvados than cognac. Lovely fragrance, perfect for the autumn and holiday season! If you are into warm and cuddly fragrances, you need to try this. People will defenitly wanna hug you for a few seconds longer with this one on!

This is incredibly sweet, yet the boozy cognac note makes it wearable as a man. It does smell edible and rich like an opulent desert, but again the booze stops it being sickly sweet. It can be nice on a very cold winter day, but mostly I see this as a winter evening/date night scent. You need to be in the mood for it I actually think the ‘on the rocks” version is more wearable, but as a winter date night scent this is hard to beat. One for the collection, if you have a large collection. I’ve smelt the Arab dupes, and none are the same; they don’t have the booze to cut down the sweetness. If you like this DNA, and you’re on a budget get a 50ml rather than the 100ml. If you like the well known arab dupes, they are nuclear, but sickly sweet. The killian original is definitely worth the money if you enjoy this DNA.

angels’ share is my favourite fragrance of all time. my last couple dates, i’ve carried a travel size decant of this in my pocket and sprayed it 5x like 10 mins before meeting the date. as soon as they see me and go in for a hug i get complimented on my smell. i also wore this one day during new york fashion week and was outside in lower manhattan with the guys at night. a group of ppl walked by us and said "yea, these guys smell really good," but i was the only one wearing anything. the cognac is heavy in the opening and i love it so much. that’s what i want to hit first when people smell me. doesn’t smell straight up gourmand to me tho. also turns powdery in the dry down. to me, angels’ share is just a blast of some really sexy shit. it flirts with my nose and everyone else’s every time i have it on.
