Bamboo Harmony

To me this is a more subtle and refined version of the original formulation of Elizabeth Arden Green Tea, before they ramped the aquatic accord up. In the opening I get the bergamot and bitter orange, but don't detect much neroli. I then detect a clear matcha note, which is appreciated, since so many tea-centric fragrances fail to provide this. From here it moves into calone and fig leaf, which I guess is designed to give the impression of bamboo. The mimosa serves to camouflage the calone to a degree, saving it from tipping too far into 90's aquatic territory. After about an hour, the calone and mimosa back off, leaving a dryer green scent, with a hint of something like fresh tobacco leaf (maybe that's holly?). Physiologically, I found this scent to be energising rather than calming, so a choice for wearing on a day when you've got lots to do. I would have preferred a bit more neroli to tame the bitterness in the opening, as it didn't feel entirely cohesive with the rest of the experience. I also would have like either the florals in the midnotes to be a little more prominent, or the calone a little less, because while I could detect floral notes, I felt like I had to wade through more calone than desired to get to them. Overall, I really like this release. As many others have mentioned, it just doesn't provide sufficient value considering how light it is. I would probably burn through a bottle of this 5x faster than many of Kilian's other scents. If it came in a 125ml bottle at the same price I think it would be worthwhile. Maybe if I can find a bottle at half the price I'll consider getting it. The only other downside is that since it is so similar smelling to EA Green Tea, and that fragrance was so widely worn back in the day, many people will assume you're wearing a $20 chemist perfume.

Wonderful creation by Kilian that is rather unusual and exotic. Green, fresh, somewhat aquatic but not in the 90ies "Cool Water" kind of way, but more in the sense of a green pond by the waterlilies as you relax with a cup of green tea. Very interesting and "fresh" in a new, not yet done fashion. While there may be some reminiscence of the sweeter, denser cousin GUCCI II Pour Homme, this one here is just so otherworldly and exotically new. I somehow wished the bamboo element was stronger, but the creation was to tell a story around the bamboo concept of serving green tea in a cup made from the plant material, whilst indulging in the art and crafts of writing some very personal Calligraphy memoirs. How can you not get carried away in the many myths and deep secrets of the Orient, be that the bustling city of Hong Kong or the tranquility of China's countryside with ricefields and tea plantations as far as the eyes can reach. After the fresh citrus bergamot/ bitter orange opening, the fragrance settles well into a slightly floral, green, exotic skin scent that keeps you cool, calm and collected during those hot and humid summer days and nights. Ideal for those who seek a bit of zen in our often all too hectic and overcomplicated world. Great concept scent. Creativity 9/10. Moderate sillage but good longevity. Calming and soothing skin scent. Perfect for summer. Understated, sophisticated and refined in an organic and natural way.

bamboo harmony is such a good name for this. sophisticated, clean, relaxing soft bamboo tea; silver mountain water vibes when you spray it but dries down to soft and herbal tea and a touch creamy (making it lean slightly feminine in the realm of fresh citruses but its very unisex objectively), i would love to smell this on a man its just giving fresh and like u just took a shower with herbal scented products so that can be any gender It reminds me of my rich beauty-queen aunt who would always use luxury cosmetics, if you went near her after she just took a shower she would have this clean, luxury herbal skincare products smell - alot like this. It wasnt pungent, nor subtle, and it would leave the air smelling really pleasant and refreshing when she’d walk past. its very calming to the nose, good for post shower and a pleasant sophisticated cirtrus for holiday, however only lasts about 2 hours on me as most other kilian scents...this one in particular i wouldve probably carried with me and resprayed anyway sinxe the scent profile is quite soft , ill be spraying it every hour whether or not the longevity is there 😂 citrus has never been my thing but ones like this or SMW i really really like for some reason; i aspire to be my rich aunt and am gonna try smelling like fresh lux skincare more often

A gorgeous soft green number with first-class citrus, breathtaking tea, a horrifying sticker price and desperately weak longevity. Sends me on an emotional rollercoaster EVERY SINGLE TIME, as the exhilarating highs of the first citrussy burst (just impeccably clean and refreshing, and to me un-synthetic) and the thrill of its super-classy take on tea evaporate insanely quickly - within 45minutes usually to my nose, on skin or fabrics. They leave behind a really upmarket but much more anonymous and generic green, which lingers for maybe a couple of hours more very close to the skin ... leaving ME quietly fuming and feeling a little cheated. If you love OJ Qi, Wulong Cha, Vuitton Cactus Garden, Dior The Cachemire, then this is a trip to the same type of high-class summer-green country club, but at an even scarier cost and with lesser performance. An unbeatably restorative smell but by no means unique, and even if you took a bright shiny pair of garden shears to its RRP and chopped it in half, it would still be overpriced. Unless you're an absolute purist, stronger and longer-lasting citrus teas can be found all over the market. As with Kilian Imperial Tea, but less so - I still kinda pine for it, but know that the highs just never last. Oh confusion!

Bamboo Harmony opens with a vibrant but not sharp citrus accord, where the zesty brightness of bergamot and the slightly bitter, tangy essence of bigarade converge, imparting an immediate freshness. Not juicy and sweet nor piercing and bathroom-cleaner like but rather crisp and clean, invigorating the senses with a most likeable shine. As the initial citric notes settle, the rejuvenating scent of white tea, light and slightly floral emerges, with just a tinge of flour-like powderiness. A green, woody and slightly sour accord then fades into appearance, which I assume must be the bamboo. Vegetal in quality yet of a pleasant airy and mellow-sweet profile, its stalk-like, green facets tinged olive add to the otherwise simple freshie a layer of earthy yet cohesive complexity. I get a bit of fig leaf too, a tad milky but more natural green leaf than sap—not too prominent but I suppose would add a little cream to the crop. Overall a, well, harmonious scent, refreshing and green yet masterfully balanced with a multitude of citric, floral and milky facets. Refined and particularly brilliant in humid weather, this one is a real delicacy!

Every now and again I come across fragrances that leave a pleasant, long lasting scent trail in my memory. Bamboo Harmony is one of them. A lot of Kilian's fragrances have this effect on me. They are so wholesome and evocative they almost put me in a trance like state. I can hear sounds and see images. This one evokes the soft sound of bamboos rustling in the breeze, of a crystal clear stream, and it's soft, fresh and relaxing. It' s citrusy and very very green and blends beautifully with the mild and spicy scent of fig and the oakmoss on the dry down. I get the tea but it's a soft almost powdery tea quality, with no harshness, unlike other green tea perfumes I ve tried. This is the scent of a new born bamboo forest fairy. It's cleansing, meditative and relaxing. I like to wear it in winter, and it's very office safe in a way that it can calm a stressful, gray, urban office building environment. The silage is humble. It stays close to the skin but it's long lasting.

I love this fragrance-it is exotic, green, and unique-all things which I seek in a fragrance. Also many uniquely Asian notes-another thing I love. The dry down is much more sweet and somewhat spicy than the initial essence of bergamont, tea, and, I actually smell water in this, although it is not listed in the notes. I can see that one would have to specifically love the notes in this to like it, because it is very unique and specific-not everyone will like this direction of scent, but I happen to really like this. The more I smell/wear this, the more I love it-and while it does have some notes of other fragrances others have mentioned, it is definitely unique and unlike anything else I have smelled. I just got my bottle today-the packaging is amazing, as all is by Kilian, and I cannot wait for the other fragrances in the Asian collection to be released!

Gosh, it’s beautiful. Bergamot can be shrill and hard to tame, and I feel that it is so well blended here with the neroli, bitter orange, tea, fig leaf, spices and earthy oakmoss. It is so perfectly balanced. Harmony is the perfect title for this fragrance, actually, because that is just what was achieved in this blend. The only thing I’d add is a hint of something creamy to further smooth it out. Someone below mentioned it would be lovely with some rice or roasted rice, and I feel that would be just perfect. A roasted barley note would be lovely, too. This is my bedtime scent tonight to lull me into (hopefully) blissful dreamland.

Opening green citrusy like the Westin hotel leaf soap (pretty generic). Dry down is the best part - soft tea and powdery like Nivea lotion with a dash of Infusion d'Homme Prada neroli. Initial impression after spray was mass appeal - clean, not offensive, and not memorable. But after ehe dry down it grew on me and it's become very comforting, nostalgic, and addictive - so much that I got a bottle. Even though I love it, I would still categorize it as safe and non-offensive for smelling fresh and clean at office, and hanging out casually, but it's definitely more nuanced, layered, and memorable.

I really like this! Citrusy, fresh, watery, and green in the opening, drying to a sweet green tea with a honeysuckle aroma. An easy-going, joyful scent profile. Is it bad that I want a bottle of this for the gym? For some reason, this reads as being a little bit 90's nostalgic to my nose. I think it's the sweet, freshwater aquatic, almost sports drink like vibe. I can almost picture drinking Bamboo Harmony from a plastic pop-top bottle, listening to Backstreet Boys on my portable CD player, and wearing track pants with buttons down the side. 4/5

As a half Japanese person, I love this so much and it makes me feel so loved and comforted. However the longevity in my skin is very poor, I bathe in it and in less than 30 minutes I have to reapply. Don’t know if it’s an issue with my batch, the only thing I know is that, despite being extremely expensive, it calms me down and it’s the perfect bedtime scent for me, so I will keep repurchasing this until my last breath. And it will probably be the first bottle I’ll empty in my collection.

Pros: absolutely love the scent, reminds me of the fresh green citrusy-green tea scents if 90ies and I am a big fan of that era. It completes with a slightly sweet note that gives to the fragrance a warm indian summer nostalgia. Cons: the sillage , the longevity is truly dissapointing for a nishe perfume. Also it feels a little too generic for the nishe and the price tag. I am sure there are millions of cheap, much better performance 20 dollar versions in a drug store.

Just like @ShowMustGoOn, I get the Guerlain Neroli Outrenoir vibes here, but a more zesty, less creamy form. This is perhaps closer to Hermes - Terre d'Hermes, plus tea and bamboo notes. I get tea, neroli, bergamot, bitter orange, It's a happy fragrance, and oops, where did half of my 50ml bottle go after 6 weeks?! Thinking of getting a 100ml refill at a discount. A great scent for a summer day — either on the beach or in the city, and perhaps beyond all of that.

One of my favorites from By Kilian/Kilian Paris. The name couldn't be any more perfect. I can close my eyes and imagine being in the middle of a bamboo forest in China sipping a hot tea watching a group doing Tai Chi Performance on it is outstanding for a green freshie-esque fragrance. I get 8+ hours out of it. I wouldnt recommend wearing it in high heat though as it can be a bit cloying so anything up to about 90° and you're good to go.

I love this fragrance. Wulong Cha is nice but a bit too green for me. This is more balanced than Wulong Cha IMO and more complex than something like Tea Tonique. That being said, I don't think I love it enough to pay full retail because that price is quite steep. Edit 4/15/24: I saw it for a really good price on Costco's website (I think they had it for $109?) so of course I had to have it. Money well spent :)

Bamboo Harmony is a pleasant citrusy-green scent: clean, unisex, and “green tea” dominant. Honestly, it’s indistinguishable from Eau Parfumee au The Vert, except with a little less floralcy, and longer lasting — but that makes it superior in my book. You get 8 solid hours of squeaky clean green satisfaction. God bless Calice Becker; she knows from tea!

Very beautiful green tea scent — i bought it right on the spot when i smelled it. You’d be a fool to expect good perfomrance, however. it’s a heavy citrus fragrance, so of course it doesn’t last long. When it’s there, though, it smells great. This is for someone who wants to smell pleasant, not turn heads, but just have a nice aura to them.

A lot like Neroli Outrenoir by Guerlain but Guerlain is a better choice - more depth, lasts longer. This is a very pleasant, sweet tea/bamboo scent. Opens citrusy/green and quickly turns into a sweet tea/bamboo scent. Doesn't last long - more like EDT rather than EDP. Highly recommend. Wulong Cha is also similar but that one lasts longer.

This is a very lovely, fresh tea/floral. It has a very nice staying power. The dry down is very clean, but yet the tea scent is still present. The neroli and bergamont notes are very nice. One can detect the mimosa, but unfortunately, with my chemistry, it is not that noticeable. I truly like this fragrance.

I instantly loved this for the tea note which I got right off the top. Enveloped in a lovely waft of green notes. It also lasted a surprisingly long time for a tea scent....many hours. All the other tea scents I've tried, including some very expensive ones, were gone in a couple of hours. A winner.
