Black Phantom Memento Mori Anniversary Edition

I have this and also the OG in the normal bottle. I was surprised to see that they are actually noticeably different. The OG is warmer and richer while the Anniversary bottling is more spicy and airy and woody and less gourmand. Initially, I prefer the OG bottling. The difference is kind of like Roja Enigma Parfum vs Parfum Cologne, where the OG bottling is more like the Parfum. I also have the Sacred Wood OG and Anniversary bottling and the same difference holds, the OG is more milky and rich while the newer one is more powdery, woody, and light. But the paradox about the Anniversary Black Phantom is that it actually lasts longer and projects more than the OG - just less warm and milky, more woody and spicy. The OG smells like you smeared Bailey's Irish Cream over yourself, but the Anniversary seems more sophisticated and composed, just less milky.

Surprised this doesn't rate higher! Bought on a whim going through Heathrow last year & only just opened it.I've been messing about with scents with similar DNA & suddenly thought....hold your horses why spend when I've got something already! I can still smell projection on this after 5 hours & it's certainly nothing like any of the others I've sampled from Mancera,Montale, Tom Ford or Xerjoff. The dark chocolate & rum really stand out with the almond & sugar taking off the bitterness. This is right up my street & will now be in my Cold weather carousel! It's not cheap but I think here you get what you pay for!

This is even better than the original! A pirate that has dark inside, powerful, yet compassionate and has been drinking all night but still can fight if necessary :) I love this so much, the closest thing I have to this - in the sense of the senses it evokes in me- memoir woman. This is sweeter though and more of a sea creature.

sickly sweet and reminiscent in a terribly wonderful way of formaldehyde. the hair that raises on the back of your neck when meeting someone charming. you shake their hand and something is just wrong. still a delicious scent to wear, but something is *just* off about it to make it interesting. peroxide - imagine drowning

Based on what I read about this perfume, I did not have high expectations. This is a beautiful fragrance though. The initial spray is quite alcohol heavy, but not necessarily in a bad way. It then gently fades into a coffee, chocolate, almost liquorish type of scent. It definitely gets more sweet as time passes. It is a perfectly unisex fragrance, the first impression is more masculine but as it dries down it slightly leans towards feminine. It is not cloying in any way and definitely not too heavy. The sandalwood is more dry than creamy. Not something I’d wear myself but I would love to smell this on someone else! Edit; I put this on after a shower and I take back what I said before about how I personally wouldn’t wear this. It dries down really nice on the skin, it blends beautifully and leans even more feminine now! A sweet and comforting smell

The first whiff of this is straight masculinity with extra toxic of liquor. And then it mellowed down to a warm choco coffee drink and a hint of almond cookies. Oh yes, it is indeed a gourmand perfume especially if you're kin to late night Baileys. wait, no lavender?

Well, this is dissapointing. Only sweet sugar and milky on my skin. If you like this but don't want to spend this amount of money, you should try Zadig and Voltaire this is her. Not the same, but kinda similar style.

#409 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Just showered up after the gym and a run at the lake and got out this sample I bought from Microperfumes back in February. So this is certainly a gourmand. I would expect this in an espresso drink from a trendy coffee shop. Light brown cane sugar, rum, coffee, dark chocolate, hint of sandalwood, not getting any vetiver. If you added nuts this would smell like the chocolate rum balls my sister whipped up for Christmas. One was all any normal human could eat. Kinda how I feel about this fragrance, like I could get cavities from smelling it. I can't render a judgement on projection and longevity because for me it's a scrubber I'm gonna go wash off. I drink coffee all day, but I haven't used sugar in the last twenty years, haven't had any rum since I had one Daiquiri on New Year's of 2007, eat chocolate very, very rarely, so I am clearly not the audience for scents like this, or most gourmands for that matter. If someone in my carpool got in wearing this, we would call them an Uber. I think this is absolutely verboten for any office environment and I definitely would not want to smell this on my date.

I just recently received a tester for this. It’s mildly disappointing. It’s sweet yes, but there’s a note in there that makes it smell like warm paper. Thin, almost. It’s so incredibly hard to describe but, for this price point it’s wildly underwhelming. Always test before you buy.

Why do I smell like a burnt Rosin during wearing this fragrance?!

I was testing Angel's Share the other day (heavenly!) and then this one also caught my eye... Because I thought it was the original Black Phantom. And oh boy... I love everything morbid but this... It literally smells like death. Like imagine taking a deep breath at a cemetary where they had just dug up every single body lying there to rest. It doesn't even smell like dirt - it smells like I'd imagine Mumia (mummy powder) must have smelt. I can hardly imagine you'd get many compliment by wearing it but if you don't care about that and want to smell like death - then definitely buy this one!

This isn’t your typical everyday and/or office scent. It’s dark, exotic & alluring, but not in a sweet, fruity or fluffy way. It gives off a sophisticated and mysterious vibe! It enters into my rotation during the Halloween season only and exclusively...I just never think of reaching for it other than late October and early November. But I do consider this fragrance a love ❤️

'Oriental Vanilla fragrance' is a VERY misleading indicator for this perfume. I would suggest you give this a courageous try, without any prejudice. You may be pleasantly surprised in finding it a welcoming palette cleanser (must be the dark chocolate caffeine) in a saturated sea of blant gourmands (ahem, amouage). Will eagerly return to sample it again at Liberty.

Quite weak with Dark Chocolate and Almond as the main. Do not feel the sweetness from Sugarcane in Rhum. True to the concept of "old wine in new bottles". The only difference is that when drydown the smell of dry wood is very thick, which can also be the only plus point for this version

Incredibly delicious. I love this perfume, but I cannot rate it high for its price point because it literally lasts minutes on me. I must find a Middle Eastern dupe, because the performance of this is TRAGIC. Kilian should actually be ashamed. This isn’t a unique problem either.

This is a bomb. Intoxicating mixture of dark chocolate and rum. After a while I can detect some leathery notes, but still infused in rum. Very elegant, leaning towards masculine in my opinion.
