Roses on Ice

I would have never ever sampled scent with this kind of main accords and notes if I wouldn’t have got the 7,5ml travel size from Kilian for free. My first reaction was like “terrible, watery, boring, what the hell is this, definitely not for me etc.” it was summer time and something made me anyway pull it off again and again and after weeks I had to admit that I was totally hooked in this scent! I sprayed more and more and the more I sprayed the more I wanted FB. This scent is perfect on the beach, at the gym or wherever when needed to smell really fresh and clean. This really is like a fresh Gin Tonic in the beautiful bottle. This is not for cold days, it definitely doesn’t work at all. That I can tell because I live in Finland. Longevity is poor and if you are few hours somewhere you really need to spray more on the go so the travel size is practical. FB is really heavy. I’m the wrong person to tell if this is unique or not because like I told this category is not my cup of tea normally. I just can say that this is unique in my collection and I have tested parfumes a lot (many which I haven’t choose) and something which would remind me of this I haven’t met. 🌞 “Roses on Ice” is powerful stuff when I traveled with this my suitcase smelled just like it for over a week! When I first received a decant to try it out, I didn’t think it would easily connect with the Kilian fanbase (which are more used to sweeter dark scents), but got to admire the creativity behind it! This one is using 2 new technologies the “Smell-the-Taste” and the next generation water molecule called Cascalone that mimics the cascading water. The rose is very much present but it has morphed itself into a chameleon with the rest of the composition. I’m struggling to find any similarities with anything else out there that smells like Hendricks gin 🥒 🌹 🧊 and it’s my most used gym scent as well. That way I can enjoy wearing it all year round. It has given a compliment at the gym too! 💯👌 For me overall it’s a big musk refreshing fragrance that you must try on skin and see how cooling and reshreshing it becomes on your skin 💯😉

Roses on Ice is weird and unique aquatic fresh scent which is like Gin Tonic made of Hendricks Gin with Cucumbers and rose water in it. It sounds weird but it’s very beautiful and addictive, interesting as well which is not the right word to describe the most of the fresh and aquatic scents. Roses On Ice doesn’t smell clearly alcohol and if you know the difference between normal, original GT and Hendricks with cucumbers you get the idea of this scent (It’s my favorite drink btw). You just have to add rose water made of baby pink petals. The base of this scent is clean white musky and the texture of the scent gets a bit thicker in the drydown thanks to Sandalwood. I'm very torn on how to review this fragrance. Based on name, honest 2 stars because there is *some* rose but it's like a hidden rose somewhere in the house, you get a hint of it, but if you haven't seen it, you wouldn't notice it's there. On the other hand, the scent itself is beautiful and fresh. Solid 4 stars. A blast of citrusy cucumber and juniper, feels like I'm sipping a gin and tonic while getting my facial. The spice calms down after a few minutes, gets softer and simpler on my skin, like I have cucumber slices on my eyes and the scent is there, but not overwhelmingly so. Very nice, relaxing and a good freshie to have, although I'll have to think about if it's worth the price. Edit: After an hour, the rose is prominent. It's a beautiful fresh green rose, flower, stem, leaves and all, very reminiscent of Diptyque's Eau rose. I have to admit that the more this developed on my skin, the more I liked it.

Very beautiful , and looks stunning on my shelf. It’s almost a copy of creeds silver mountain water which is very unique and like nothing else out there . However those two are super similar , aquatic , ozonic , green and a breath of cold fresh air. They both remind me of fall and winter , sunny alps and outdoor activities like skiing ... not to say it won’t cool you down on a hot summer day. I could paste my creed review here and it would not change :). Prefer Kilians a tiny bit as I love the rose note and the bottle better. Big thumbs up , compliment getter and definitely unisex not leaning feminine nor masculine. Fresh , green , clean and musky , almost a metallic salty ambrette seed note in there, nice drydown , as in silver mountain W the sandalwood and the musk are making a sexy clean skin scent in the end , love it ! Aromatherapy, natural smelling ,definitely daytime and morning to me.

This was a ride for sure. All the notes are things I love so I had high hopes, I was certainly not disappointed but I am conflicted. The opening is a cool, refreshing citrus that I can imagine would be incredible on sunny days. The dry down is also nice with that cool scent lingering and mixing well with a floral note. However my conflict starts around the 4hr mark, on my skin everything else fades and I’m left with a strong sharp citrus which at first isn’t so bad but after an additional few hours of it really makes it harsh and a bit unbearable. So for me it’s perfect until the 6hr mark when I’ve had two hours of sharp citrus and I’m ready to wash it off. I’m so confused, I want a full bottle but I also don’t want to have to wash it off after 6hours. I’m going to try layering with other perfumes or layer at the 4hr mark to see if I can work around it.

What were they going for here? A gin and tonic inspired perfume with rose as the starring note. But, oh, surprise! It's actually a masculine fragrance. An aquatic! Hope you like cucumber! Whatever the brief was, I think this is pretty well done. Lot's of interesting things going on... juniper, cucumber, fresh aquatic notes (mercifully no calone), a tiny little rose, woods. Very musky. I was really surprised by the unmistakably masculine aromachemicals used in this fragrance, reminding me of generic men's sport fragrances from the early aughts... but better! If I were to relate it to anything in particular, it might be to Cartier's Declaration d'un Soir, though it's been a while since I smelled that one.

I revisited this fragrance recently wanting to smell some spring summer ready scents for 2024. To me this is a dry gin and cucumber with a splash of rose water added to the mix. It's fresh, it's clean, and I have no problems as a female wearing this, although it is definitely unisex. The rose sits slight on the skin like a thin veil with a gin infused cucumber sitting on top of it. It's not a rose dominant fragrance like Delina la Rosee for example but I love Roses on Ice, as the rose pops up to the top of the gin glass every now and again. I enjoy it, some females may find this too masculine but personally I adore it for summer. It will be worn thos summer by me for sure.

I wanted to love this perfume so bad! Especially when someone compared it to beauty and the beast, but it’s just too masculine for me. It’s really weird that a lot of people say it’s feminine and very rose and cucumber heavy because I get none of that. I only smell the juniper and a mineral note. Not to say that it’s bad as I still think it’s quite a lovely perfume. It’s just too masculine for me. This is Damon Salvatore. Oddly enough this perfume reads so much like winter air to me that it just reminds me of him. It’s elegant and sophisticated. Clean and sharp. Seductive in an effortless way.

This perfume smells like the freshest, greenest rose in a newly blooming garden. Whenever the flower hasn't opened yet, and there's been a slight drizzle so the flowers are covered in a cool dew. Like you've came over, opened the flower yourself and snapped a couple of it's stems on your way. It is crisp and lovely, refreshing and lightly cooling in warm weather, and you get a much stronger sharper freshness from the rose. I didn't realise the freshness was from cucumber of all things until I looked at the notes on here. Sadly it doesn't last too long but the time it stays with you is lovely.

This scent is so unique. It reminds me of nothing. I absolutely love this scent and it is in my top 5 favorite scents. It’s also one of my 3 go to scents for a night out. BR540 & Mojave Ghost being the other 2. This fragrance is a Cucumber martini made with gin & a splash of rose water in a bottle. It’s so fresh but also it’s sexy. It feels expensive. It makes me feel bossy when I wear it. The cucumber is a standout in this fragrance and that makes this scent polarizing but for me this is a winner and I hope Kilian never discontinues it. This is my favorite scent by Kilian.

Can someone seriously tell me why there’s so much hate for this??? It’s cold and crisp, perfect for spring and summer. The cucumber is nice and juicy but doesn’t last forever, the rose is reminiscent of rose water, and the jumper berries if it a very realistic gin on the rocks vibe. It’s a very refreshing and airy scent. It’s not really offensive at all, it’s pretty unique, and still wearable by a majority of people. Like I seriously don’t understand the bad reviews when honestly I kinda enjoy this more than angels share, which has garnered MASS acclaim.

I am in awe of this one!! I have not smelled anything like this before. Very excited to find a full bottle of this! I have been wanting something cucumber forward for a while and this does it in such an elegant and fresh way! My husband isn’t big on perfumes but commented on this one days later recalling the outfit I was wearing saying he liked the perfume from that day. Said it reminded him of champagne. It makes me feel elegant! I don’t really get like but the cucumber and rose definitely shine. And it lasts alllllll day!

Expected a dewy rose but got instead a cucumber-violet ozonic scent. Fortunately, I am very into this profile. The longevity is also amazing, over six hours. The parfume on its own is excellent. And I also enjoy knowing I bought a tester (with the cap in the original box) at a significant discount. Think the low rating is due to the missleading name. No roses in here. The only downside here is the linearity, but I experience this with all perfumes with ambroxan. Like it forcefully keeps the scent alive beyond its time.

I never would have guessed how much I'd end up loving this! It has character, and personality but it's still pretty easy to wear. It's cucumber, and icy water with just a hint of rose, and I absolutely adore it. It was a shock to me, because I don't usually go for these type of scents. I wasn't sure if I'd ever find an aquatic scent that I need to have in my collection but I did. Wouldn't mind if the rose was more prominent but I love it anyway. I have to get a full bottle of this beauty.

I sprayed this on my wrist at Sephora on a whim and went back the next day to buy a bottle. It's a nice fresh scent that leans a touch aquatic. My favorite thing about this scent is that is quite "cool" throughout it's wear time. I would prefer a little more rose, as the scent leads more cucumber and juniper than rose. So if you're looking for something that has a strong rose scent, this won't do that for you. If you want something that is cool and refreshing, it's worth a try.

A relatively simple, linear fragrance that smells so good. Smell this blind with expectation and pretentiousness checked at the door and you'll probably find it appealing to say the least. Definitely not doing anything ground-breaking but it smells so crisp, refreshing, and uplifting. Don't let people too swept up in the hype of Angels Share (also good) influence the possibility that Roses On Ice is quite good and you might enjoy it/want it.

Great frag. First wore this on a trip to DTX (Dallas, TX) and on my way into a restaurant a group of ladies paid me compliments on this frag. I actually enjoy this more than Angels' Share which I guess is an unpopular opinion, but tis' true. Fresh scent that shines in the summer and spring but could also wear this in the Wintertime. I love this little weirdo with my whole heart. It gets HOT in south Texas, and when the humidity soars and the air is thick and wet, few perfumes tempt me. But Roses on Ice--a sparkling, icy cocktail of cucumber and green, ozonic, herbaceous notes, fits the bill. It's crisp and cool, and while fleeting, I don't mind reapplying. It's a refreshing combo that I never really saw myself appreciating, but there you have it. Love this one.

You’re met with a dew-laced bouquet of fresh herbs (dill, mint, parsley) on the opening - which then melts into freshly sliced cucumber. A slice is dropped into a frosted lime-rimmed glass of gin on the rocks. Rose petals are suspended in the ice cubes, emboldening themselves with each new, slow sip. Kisses of juniper berry linger on your tongue. There’s so much world-building in this truly special fragrance. Don’t be a coward.

I always knew I liked this, but I didn’t realise just how much. I recently ran out because of how much I wear it. I had to order a refill. I guess that qualifies this as my “signature scent”. This is juniper and rose forward; it smells just like a beautiful gin and tonic topped with rose petals. And, although this is floral, it’s not necessarily feminine. The great longevity and moderate make this a versatile unisex scent.

This is a high class, clean girl scent that is a nice luxury to have. I spray this when I don't want to wear a fragrance because it's just like sitting with a glass of iced water with cucumbers in it along side a patch of roses. Not a long lasting scent, but I think that it needs to be that way for it to be as effortlessly clean and fresh as it is. 8/10 would wear more often if it wasn't so much.

What a lovely fresh scent. It's certainly familiar and strong for a freshie as mentioned below, but I like that that it'll be a great option for a lasting scent on a bright Spring or Summer's day. It's gin & tonic served ice cold under blue skies with fresh cut roses wafting in a light breeze. While downsizing, this replaces 2 fresh & clean scents from my wardrobe.

I bought it in the travel set this summer. At first, I was surprised by the cucumber top, but after the cucumber was gone, on my skin, it smelled like a real green rose blooming in a my garden. It's a very nice scent that is not persistent to wear in the heat of summer! I like it so much that I plan to buy a full bottle when I run out of this 7.5ml.

This is so unique and sophisticated. Much more appealing to me than I thought possible given the notes. I haven’t smelled anything like this on anyone. Definitely complex and well blended, and on my skin I can’t detect any of the notes. But it’s amazing. It dries down to a soft musk that’s interesting and really likable in my opinion.

Magnificent gin and tonic scent with a touch of rose lemonade and some nice refreshing woods in the base. I adore icy, ozonic scents and this one pleases me tremendously. Leans unisex and adds this touch of mature cleanliness to any mood. It’s nostalgic and reminds me of the feeling I get when CK one or ADG had us all in a chokehold. Well blended and refreshing I will always keep this in my collection.

Amazing frag, dont know where people get cucumber from. dont listen to them. the more popular a frag is the more idiots with horrible noses review it, and this, is really popular. smells like roses with a whiff of the ocean. lasts 8 hours+ lacks projection though, need vaseline for this one, 9/10

Fizzy gin & tonic with cool refreshing cucumber and rose. I feel like the baddest b when i wear this... It gives me so much confidence! It’s great for summer and even spring. It has moderate sillage and pretty decent longevity. Definitely try this before you buy it, it’s not a safe blind buy.

I love Toy Boy so this is an instant love for me. This is not the same but the rose scent is as heavenly. Cucumber notes are one of a kind here. Musk note smells like a sweaty teenager with deodorant spray scent. Its lowkey animalic in a good way if in heat but in cold weather I'm not sure.

I did a blind buy based on my love of G&T. Although it doesn’t really remind me of a G&T, it is easily one of the best blind buys I’ve made. The scent reminds me of Rose 31 by Le Labo in some respects. It is woody, crisp, refreshing and a little bit of spicy rose. All around great scent.

One of my favorite fragrances ever and even although it’s so airy and fresh it also preforms ! Light cucumber with the ozonic notes , and just a bit of that rose and juniper especially in the dry down. Truly a masterpiece never smelt anything like this , not a safe blind buy

Ice cold cucumber - floral scent which is fantastic for hot summer days. Not your average fresh fragrance for sure. I would not encourage for a blind buy, definitely an acquired taste. Perfectly unisex and surprisingly good performance for this scent profile. 10/10.

This is a rose cut with a chilly, vegetal aura. It is unique and delightful — provided you enjoy green scents. This is a refreshing approach to a spring fragrance, especially for March and April, when you long for spring but the occasional snowstorm blows through.

Smells exactly like Hendricks gin and tonic cocktail with a lot of cucumbers in it😍. This particular classic gin has a light rose scent, exactly like Roses on Ice. So cooling on a hot day, and the projection is outstanding for the fist 1.5 to 2 hours. So niche

It smells like a refreshing gin tonic cocktail with fresh cucumbers and a few roses. The cucumber opening doesn’t bother me, it’s light. This fragrance is elegant and its sillage is quite strong. Lasts good on my skin

I know the notes are weird, but this is so refreshing to my nose and the performance is great. Truly unisex without being woody or having that sharp cologne tinge. I think it might be FB worthy for the warm weather.

I love it!!! Absolutely, this fragrance has strong cucumber notes. After a while, it might feel like a bitter scent, cucumber fading. Not for everyone, but in my opinion, it feels rich and complicated.

Fresh rose flavored gin and tonic. Hit with cucumber for the first 15 minutes, then it balances into that G&T with a fresh picked rose. Super light/fresh fragrance, imo. Almost smells ‘cold’

pepper, juniper, cucumber, rose, ocean. it's pretty divisive; my sister hates it, i adore it because it perfectly captures the aroma of a high-end seafood restaurant.

Smelled it in Sephora yesterday and it’s honestly so good. The cucumber notes make it fresh and unique, perfect for maybe running morning errands or grabbing brunch

I like this layered with Nautica Voyage. Perfect beach fragrance. I like it and others have given me plenty of compliments.

One of the best rose perfumes out there, this fragrance smell almost angelic to me, and is tottally a unisex

I still wonder why it has a below average rating. It’s not as bad as others perceive it to be. I live in a tropical country where Summer gets scorching hot and let me tell you, Roses on Ice performed really well. Admittedly, I wasn’t a fan the first time I used it because of the heavy cucumber note—but we went on a 7-hour trip to a province south of the capital and was surprised I can still smell it at the end of our trip. First spray was like a cucumber bomb with a hint of alcohol and lime which wasn’t my cup of tea really. It stayed on like that for less than an hour until it settled into a nice rose petals in a water that amazingly lasted during the whole trip. It survived a plane ride, taxi, bus, and tricycle ride. The second time I used it was during a procession. Had my usual 5 sprays before I left. We walked all the way to the Church, attended a mass, walked to the Cemetery and then back home again to have late lunch. Took us 3 hours to finish all that and of course came back home all sweaty from all the walking. To my surprise, others can smell roses on me at an arms length— which is weird because I can barely smell it at that time. The scent for sure is unique. I get cucumber, alcohol, lime, and ends with rose petals water. Performance, definitely above average in the Summer. That being said, I will keep exploring this perfume and take it on my Summer journey. And yes, definitely getting addicted to it.

The sample I got in a set was the most beautiful cold, sugary, watery rose scent! In a bigger sample, its opens as that gorgeous watery rose, but turns into cucumber with soft wood and pepper.. Almost nothing aquatic or rosy?? But the drydown becomes more and more like the watery rose I expected based on my first sample, with hints of cucumber.. It's sparkly and bright despite being so soft! It absolutely smells like a drink, right down to crisp and refreshing ice~ But it also evokes roses growing in the garden I grew up with, covered in morning dew on a chilly day Its a lovely rainy day or snow scent year round, and its a gentle presence! Its very fairy-like, or maybe fairytale? Realistically, its like exploring a botanical garden on a pretty grey day~ Better suited for day than night! I'm so torn, because from the first sample it was an instant love and I couldn't wait to buy a full bottle! But its probably best I tried another sample before jumping, they're like two totally different scents until the drydown ; o ; I wish I knew what made the first mini so great! The drydown of my bigger sample is still beautiful and has me tempted, its just hard to get past the sort of dill scent of the opening because it takes away from the fantasy.. Hopefully it just needs to settle a loooooong while to capture more of that sweetness I'm missing!

Roses on Ice opens with a sparkling burst of pepper, watery cucumber, and spicy wood. There is no warmth here, only the cool, refreshing vibes of early summer. Gentle lime and the barest trace of rose. Think: one petal in the drink. The spices fade a little with the dry-down, allowing Roses to breathe. The end result is very green, with cucumber remaining its strongest note. It's fresh and aromatic, but comes across a little clinical. Like a rather fancy alcohol wipe. In all honesty, this is something I would probably have added to my perfume collection if not for its rather exorbitant price. It does remind me, in a way, of a very watered down, less zesty version of Blue Mediterraneo - Mirto di Panarea by Acqua di Parma. Perhaps it's that shared note of juniper? Experts could advise. In short, I like Roses on Ice a lot more than I do Apple Brandy on the Rocks, but neither really compare to the perfection that is Angels' Share. Regardless, I will not hesitate to continue sampling other Kilian fragrances. While not typical perfume scents (and I applaud the brand for that), they are disconcertingly accurate portrayals of their titles.
