Blanche Absolu

My latest addition to my collection at the time of writing this, and MAN. Judging by the main accords and note pyramid I would've NEVER thought this is a scent that I'd like, let alone adore. But here I am, buying a full 100ML bottle on the spot. This is by far the cleanest, most airy fragrance I've tried. To me this is like a breath of fresh air, and I mean that quite literally, if I had to describe this fragrance in a more physical sense, it'd be like new linen bedsheets that are hanging on the clothesrack on laundry day. It very much brings the words "subdued elegance" to mind. Longevity is great for an airy fragrance such as this. Projection is absolutely out of this world for me, the first hour I'm getting around 4-6 feet of projection, from there it does die down a bit but even after 3 hours it doesn't drop below 2 feet away. In my opinion could really work for guys and girls alike, all year round, but it totally shines on warmer days.

At first it's a boom of aldehydes, literally soap bubbles in the nose, but then the aldehydes start to envelop the floral notes and deepen the musk, while the black pepper adds a bold edge. This is an interpretation of the color White and I love that very much. At its core, the fragrance captures the contrast between purity and strength, founded by a deep, long-lasting base of cashmeran and ambroxan. What is cashmeran? A synthetic component with a woody, musky and resinous tone, reminiscent of the softness of cashmere wool. And indeed, when you go through the dive into soapy foam, some wonderful floral and woody notes are revealed, which bring the feeling of a spring walk in a fresh forest, caressed by the first rays of the sun. This perfume, as well as Acne Studios Frederic Malle, are my favorites among clean girl scents, when I want to smell clean, my perfume to be unobtrusive and at the same time elegant.

I went to Saks in NYC purely for the intention of smelling Blanche and Blanche Absolu next to each other. They smell incredibly identical to me. The Absolu does last longer and has a bit of pepper in the opening vs the original is more sweet soapy. I purchased the Absolu because it lasts twice as long. However, I would have been happy with either. Theyre 98% similar. Absolu is a touch muskier. Loving this scent profile especially when walking around the city in the thick, dense and stinky city air lol Its sterile clean: like sticking your nose in a box of detergent powder. Super dryer sheet, fresh laundry, linen clean. If you want a realistic laundry clean girl scent (vs shampoo clean), Blanche is your queen! Edit: Shes skyrocketed to my Top 5, I love Blanche so much!!

I tried the Byredo Blanche Eau de Parfum and the Absolu to see what the difference was for myself, and have concluded that I love the Absolu MUCH more than the EDP. The black pepper and extra musk make the scent a lot more rich and refined, less sweet in the middle and dry down, longer-lasting, and a stronger projection. The fresh laundry smell in the Absolu seems to stay throughout the wear (6+ hours) whereas the EDP dries down to a sweeter floral. I wore 2 sprays to the office and had so many people in my area comment on how “someone smells soooo good!” They are both very office-appropriate and give off a refined, professional, clean vibe. Though, I want to be more low-key than to fill a room, so I will probably wear just 1/2-1 spritz next time!

This is beautiful: spicy, fresh, clean. Leaning tad masculine but as a woman I still enjoy this very much. On my skin Absolu and OG are very different. OG is more powdery and floral, I love it. Absolu is a masterpiece though! Pepper and neroli give this fresh scent a unique edge that stays with me all through dry down. When OG turns to a soft powdery floral, Absolu remains punchy fresh with that peppery kick, love it. Funny enough I find that the drydown of OG smells on me exactly the same a drydown of Omnia EDT (the silver cap one). They open different, albeit both fresh, but dry down to the same fresh floral powder. Blanche Absolu is inoffensive, clean and unique with that spicy punch.

If you’re in the market for this, you’re probably thinking how does it compare to some of the alternatives. Of the pure laundry smells I’ve tried, I’ll keep it brief. It’s better than MFK 724 and less challenging to my nose than Acne Studios. Blanche Absolu is just a very smooth blend but punctuated by an opening peppery vibe that keeps it interesting. It performs well, 8 hours on skin, projects well for the 1st couple of hours and is more intimate from then on. Broadening it out a little and away from just a straight up laundry smell, Initio Musk Therapy is still the best of the whole clean aesthetic to me but Blanche Absolu is up there.

I love this one. Its very clean, aldehydic and you smell the cashmeran very well. Almost creamy in the dry down. Just the right amount of white florals, softly in the background. The ultimate clean scent for spring anf summer. Finaly a Byredo with good performance. I have been looking for a clean aldehydic musk and came across Fredric Malle/ Acne studios and fell in love with it. But i just could not spend that much money. This one, even if its not much cheaper felt like a better choice and my search is over. 10/10

Smells like laundry or cleaning products. I wore a sample of 1 spray as I walked around for hours in a very hot day of June in Vienna (90 degrees). It never felt overwhelming, thankfully. No idea how this works in other seasons. Context is everything with fragrance - I love when reviewers share this aspect because it really affects the perfume depending on the temperature, etc. It lasted for many hours in the heat, but I never tried the original, so I can’t compare them yet.

I was given a sample of this when I bought Mojave Ghost Absolu and when I bought Rose of No Man’s Land Absolu. So today I decide I’d put some in for work just to see what it was like. Although I’m not a big fan of floral perfumes due to their perceived femininity in my mind, I found myself enjoying every time the wind would blow it up my nose. This has completely changed my opinion of what a floral fragrance can be and I might even get myself a bottle of this

This is the most refreshing freshy that I’ve ever smelled. It’s spring in a bottle although it’s an all year long smell in my opinion. Takes me to a clean spring summer day with blue skies wearing a freshly washed white t-shirt and your 90s jeans. Sunglasses on and ready to seize the day. This projects like crazy and has beast performance.. people will wanna steal some fresh sniffs from you for sure. If you’re in your fresh era go smell this! I just love it.

If you like clean scents this is so addicting. This really retains the OG DNA and amped it up by means of projection and performance. Definitely a good signature scent. Performs effectively on high heat and suprisingly it performs quite well better than the OG in colder days. For its price, fair to say it’s quite a bit pricey but if you love the OG it won’t matter cause I assure you’ll definitely like this better than the edp.

Great clean scent, smells like really fresh clean, luxurious sheets. The opening is a little harsh with the ambroxan/ aldehydes note, but after a few minutes the dry down smells more similar to the original one. I could smell the flowers, musk and pepper. Also, really good for layering with other Byredo fragrances. Thank God they released this version, performs better than the original.

I’m not a fan of the OG but this?? I LOVE!!! this is a far more complex smelling and a in-depth version of the original. I smelled it in store and the sale associate gave me a sample, I tested it on my skin and compared with the OG that I have and this one won!! My next purchase for sure. For me the original just smells like your normal public restroom soap and not worth the price tag.

Byredo Blanche Absolu feels like a creamier, woodier evolution of the original Byredo Blanche. It keeps that signature fresh, clean linen vibe, but softens it with a smoother, almost milky texture and a more pronounced woody base. The result is less airy and sharp, and more rounded, cozy, and quietly luxurious—like freshly laundered fabric wrapped in warm, sheer woods.

Wow I LOVE the Absolu version. If you are in your Clean Girl/Guy Era, this one is it! This is such a perfect fragrance for traveling, office, gym/yoga, or just laying around the house in your pj's. It smells like a spicier laundry detergent and I am seriously addicted. I often wake up in the morning and put it on to get my day started.

Probably the most easy wear fragrance in my collection, inoffensive, fresh, clean - never fails. It lasts long but sillage isn’t too great. Who doesn’t like to smell clean? However there is more to it than just smelling clean, the dry down is more complex than just smelling clean. I would advise spraying on skin before buying.

Blanche Absolu is the “self-assured sibling” to Blanche, more confident and more present (on the skin). Here, the aldehydes are lifted by a crisp, peppery bite and a touch of neroli. The deeper base notes linger for hours longer than the EDP. This is actually the first time I’ve preferred the absolu/extrait to the original.

I was very wary when my husband bought it for me as a surprise... At first I used it as a room spray) too popular, too harsh.. Now I plan to buy it bottle by bottle. The perfume that gets the most compliments when I wear it. And maybe it's weird, but I love wearing it on in the gym. Just one spray, never more!🤭

The idea of putting on a scent that smells like laundry always daunting to me since I associated that w unnecessary expensive softener. I am a super clean person and I was so skeptical about it specially the procetag. But until I met Byredo Blanche Absolu, she’s that gurl. That bottle is coming home w me.

Smells like the hallways of Disneys Grand Floridian Hotel. I love it. It is exquisitely clean smelling and very uplifting, but not for everyone. My nose picks up clean white musk with citrus on top, wrapped in luxe cashmere with white florals sprinkled through. Better than the OG Blanche in my opinion.

As everyone says and knows this is a laundry type profile. It’s very nice. Much bettter than MFK 724. However my favorite aldehyde + musk is Chanel 1957.

Every time I spray this perfume I feel like a junkie getting his dose. Blache Absolu is truly an unmatched scent to me. My absolute favourite.🤍

definitely much more smoother, hugging, and warm than blanche edp. im surprised that absolu is not linear, which i love btw, unlike the edp

the scent of freshly laundered white cotton, soapy, skin-like purity, adding more woody scents compared to the original, quiet and smooth

I really like this fragrance. Clean, sweet, fresh and long lasting. The smell of clean laundry, suitable for everyday use.

This fragrance is a laundry scent TO A TEE. You will literally smells like laundry fresh out the washing machine (hasn't even hit the dryer yet) it has a cooling effect and the peppery-ness makes it a more modern take on scent profile! That being said this isn't a fragrance for everyone it's very clean smelling, borderline too clean - cleaning product scented. The projection is about 3hrs and the longevity is 6-7hrs. It's soft and not in your face which I think helps it be more palatable. But like I say for most Byredo's, but especially for this one, it's insanely over-priced for what it is! If you like this scent and the overall profile and think the price is egregious (no shame), I encourage you to try 'Narciso Rodriguez Pure Musc Blanc'. Think of clean laundry but make it sweeter and with a touch of vanilla. To me it smells like Downy fabric softener that's vanilla scented!

The opening is bright and crisp with Aldehydes, Neroli and Black pepper. This combination creates a freshly-laundered feeling, but with a cooler and more modern edge than typical soapy fragrances. The heart contains Jasmine, Violet and Rose. Instead of smelling overtly floral, they soften the fragrance and give it a clean, skin-like elegance. The base is where Absolu separates itself from the original with Musk, Ambroxan, Cashmeran and Cashmere woods. This creates a creamy, woody, slightly warm dry-down that stays close to the skin while feeling more substantial than the original Blanche. It is more like a floral perfume that I prefer wearing during summer.

This basically smells like starchy white cotton fabric with an overdose of laundry detergent. Comparing to the original, this has a sharper, stronger laundry detergent note. The original perfume is minimalistic and lighter with more emphasis on cotton. It also has other subtle nuances not masked by that strong aldehydic laundry detergent note. I think Blanche Absolu might appeal more to men, while Blanche would be preferred by women. Smelled and tested on the skin at Saks Fifth Avenue. Smell: 7 out of 10 Strength: 8 out of 10 Unisex For reference, I'm female.

This one is interesting. To me it doesn’t have the spirit of the OG Blanche. Every time I wear it, it reminds me of Another 13 and Baccarat Rouge. It might be the ambroxan but it smells clean regardless. It’s very long lasting. Be careful not to accidentally spraying it on furniture. It will smell for daysss. I’m so glad Byredo brought out their own Another 13, Molecule 01, JHAG Not a perfume type of perfume. I like how they made it way cleaner and softer but I wish it smelled more like Blanche. The bottle is also vey beautiful and puts the old one to shame.

Typically I don’t like this soapy type of perfume, but somehow it’s really appealing for me. It made me return to a store to try it again and again. I don’t know why, but it reminds me of that crispy paper that they fold with a new white shirt at Massimo Dutti store. It’s giving me that rich and confident lady vibe and that’s probably why I like it. I definitely want to wear it this spring.

Do I regret buying it? No. Will I finish the whole bottle? Yes. Will I repurchase? NO, I will go for the original. That note of Black pepper works very well in the summer (hot air and sweat somehow make it more blended), but in other seasons it stands out in a way I don't always love. Blanche forever, but the original is my favorite

If I could skip straight to the dry down, that would be perfect. The opening is quite sharp, peppery and floral, which I don’t enjoy at all. But the dry down is exactly what I was hoping for – clean, soft, fluffy and white. The bad news is that when It make it to the dry down It is already weak and intimate.

Strong fabric softener smell. I think this is a nice non-offensive office scent for both men and women. Smells really elegant, smooth and sophisticated, but for the price I'd pick some actual fabric softener that smells great.

Fresh linen with pepper. It’s nice but...is it £190 for 50ml nice? Granted, it’s not my favourite kind of perfume profile but I just don’t think it’s worthy of the price tag. Performance is ok - but not good enough.

The opening is strong and similar to the original Blanche but the dry down is much better and more powdery. I love this even more because it is not as screechy as the original

A little sharp to my nose on the aldehydes. Perfect if you want to smell like crisp sheets. Too weak for me though.

Smells nice like a cotton scented powdered detergent. Can be worn 24/7

Two weeks later: That pepper in the opening is still quite the kick in the face for the first bit of this fragrance. It does smell absolutely clean - that laundry scent that I and so many others have mentioned already, However, everyday it only gets harder to shake off that's exactly what is - Scent booster as a fragrance; and it even has a bit of that synthetic touch to it as the cherry on top. If that's exactly what you want, then this is YOUR fragrance. I personally think this is better as a 10ml decant that you can wear for when you just want an easy reach. 50ml would be the very max. I got a 100ml for a price cheaper than that of a retail 50ml, but this amount is honestly too much and I've already sold it off today. I can't say I'll miss it /that/ much, but it was definitely nice while it lasted!

Modern aldehydic scent from the start, with the black pepper giving it a good contrast to just slightly soften its contemporary, cold, industrial clean profile that many seem to prefer nowadays. Can be overly sweet with the violet and rose, not enough jasmine to give it a better balance but that would probably have turned many off. Like many Byredo scents, very sharp, robotic feel. Brutalist.

The first 2 hours of this are a bit harsh - like serious industrial-grade cleaning products. If you are not already a fan of laundry scents, you will likely not be able to handle the first couple hours of this. Once you get past the opener though, the chemical screech now turns into a smooth, clean laundry scent that's absolutely heavenly and makes that opener all worth it. Love it.

I loved the original Blanche but hated how it didn’t last, so when I heard there was an Absolu version I rushed to try it. But, this new one still only lasts for 1 hour, so adding ambroxan clearly didn’t help as a fixative and just made it smell more like Valaya Exclusif. Pretty but it vanishes way too soon.

I’ve been on my aldehydic kick and thought this would feel like a soul rinse but I don’t love it on my skin but I also keep lifting my wrist to my nose over and over. Something about familiarity.

I really hoped it would be just a stronger version of Blanche, but it's not... It's ok. It's not a bad fragrance, but the OG is much much better...

A lot like the old Blanche. Only stronger, louder, but more screechy. Blanche is pleasant and pretty. But Blanche Absolu... smells like an some common toilet bar soap, just like you washed your hands in some public bathroom in a rural area in Europe (thinking Poland). Also on the skin it has that harshenes in the dry down, similar to Valaya Exclusive. Blanche is truly superior to Blanche Absolu. However, my ultimate soapy scent remains Acne Studios, nothing can beat its' appeal, uniqueness and performance.

If someone smelled like this, I’d be worried their washing machine isn’t rinsing the detergent from their clothes properly. I prefer the original as it is at least airy and pleasant. This absolu is too dense. It's like inhaling washing powder. My boyfriend’s comment after smelling it on my wrist: “toilet”. I guess it does smell like a strong cleaning product.

It smells like a clothe that was from a washing machine and didn’t fully dried it i hate this it has the same smell as a laundry detergent and chlorine not worthy at all
