Gente oque dizer de Anaïs Anaïs, simplesmente uma obra prima da perfumaria clássica. De saída ao borrifa-lo sentiu uma explosão de jacinto e lírio, apesar disso eles não brigavam andavam em harmonia, mas saíram de forma extremamente pontuda, um cheiro verde violento e muito romântico, quase um cheiro de grama recém-cortada. Logo depois de algum tempo ele virou um floral intenso branco, um buquê de noiva, carregado de folhas verdes extremamente amargas e secas, e um devaneio de floraridade branca concentrada, depois de algumas horas ele virou um cheiro de sabonete puro em mim, parecia que havia acabado de tomar um banho com sabonete de rosas brancas intensas e só. Esse perfume rouba a cena, gostaria que ele durasse um pouco mais, e também sua projeção, apesar de acreditar que o EDP não tenha esse problema. Não achei uma conexão nada atual, ela é notavelmente datada, cheira a anos 70/80, diria que uma moça jovem e doce, muito pura o usaria, me remeteu muito a princesa Diana,elegante, marcante, e extremamente verde, me senti mergulhado em um bosque a luz do sol bem morno, com uma grama muito verde recém cortada, num clima úmido, mas com flores que sugam essa água e deixo apenas um perfume extremamente seco e assabonetado no ar, adorei recomendo achei um deleite.

My first experience of this was romantic. For my birthday, either 15 or 16, my mother took me to a perfumerie where a lady tested my test ph and tried different notes on it, choosing the ones I liked the most, white florals were top of the list. My grandmother wore white shoulders which I loved, but didn’t want to wear, though it was close, so I chose Anais Anais. Remember this was when Opium and red door was popular, this was very different. It was a memory I’ll never forget. I think this is one, based on the mixed reviews, that really changes on your skin and fortunately, was lovely on mine. It goes to a creamy powdery place, sweet and romantic. Never overwhelmed, very feminine. Perfumes just don’t last on my skin, but this one will. I have bought it again and again through the years, for nostalgia, but I’ll use up the bottle. From memory, the creamy soapy powder is what I remember most but a very white floral powder. Will always love this.

Oh wow, I had to buy this again after many many years. I am glad I did. There is a very long story here, I will tell the short version. I was 21 years old, this older man who saw me once, four day later he left a package in-front of my door with the entire set of this fragrance including perfume, lotion, shower gel and dusting powder. My goodness, I was in heaven! I looked for him to say thank you, I was not able to find him. Four years ago while in grad school, he turned out to be one of my professors. We ended up speaking about his generous gift he gave me, four days later he transferred me to a different professor. I respected him even more for realizing that there was a conflict. I never saw him again.

I love this because it's not the usual happy floral. Nothing wrong with happy floral but this is such a beautiful melancholic and a little nostalgic floral fragrance! Most floral perfumes I own or have tried are often very suitable for spring. But this is what I would call a rainy day floral. The opening was just a little synthetic but after that it's a beautifull bouquet of flowers with some insence and warmed up a little bit by the amber. I think the box looks amazing!

Bought the EDP at TJ Maxx for $16. Wore this in my 20's when I was reading the diaries of Anais Nin and wishing I was a Parisienne. I assumed it would be a walk down memory lane. But the scent seems spicier on me now, less sweet and powdery. Hyacinth is strong, but that's a scent I like when softened by other floral and base notes. Wysteria's review is spot on when she calls this a rainy day floral. I'm enjoying it once again.

perfection. bitter, green, sharp, not indulgent. either you love it or you hate it. the splendid lily creates with the incense a dark and a little funereal vision, the bitterness of the galbanum and the green of the hyacinth form a splendid side dish jasmine and rose complete fantastically all. unisex for me. excellent performance. in my opinion more suitable for cold than hot. 10/10

Anais was one of my first luxury purchases when I was fourteen and first employed. It's a feminine soft smell that I appreciate a great deal even after experiencing a lot of niche and designer perfumes. The florals are beautifully blended and the feeling is clean and relaxed. It's a great bedtime perfume, very dreamy. I plan on keeping a bottle from now on!

An amazing rediscovery, love how feminine and happy this smells. If you love hyacinth (like me), you’ll adore this. Smells quite powdery on me, lasts decently long especially on clothing. It stays fresh and doesnt turn rancid after a few hours, like some similar fragrances do for me.

This Formula is really the original and it ́s so lovely this floral...feminine, romantic, polite, refined... picture Jane Austin ́s heroines and the Impressionismus comes to my mind. One of the best florals for daily use...pure refinement!

The smell of my mom. This EDP is a very beautiful fragrance with a clear note of jasmine and orange blossom. A compact and delicate bouquet.

Wearing this for the first time since I bought it a few months ago, and really only because of my "scent-a-day" challenge. Yes, this does smell exactly as I remember it smelling when I was a girl in the 80s. And boy is it POTENT. I only sprayed it once on my left wrist and the sillage is ultra. Honestly, if I had sprayed more than once it would have been overkill and possibly a scrubber. To me this is a powdery, smoky, big lily scent with woody cedar. For that reason, it's kind of a contradiction. Because, when I think of lily scents I think of Spring...but this is so, SO in-your-face that I wonder if it would be too much in the warmer temperatures. And also, the smokiness and cedar is definitely making this a colder temperature wear, IMO. This is reminding me big-time of Diorissimo, since both are strong, strong lily scents. I think the dry-down is going to be much more satisfying for me. Since I only sprayed this about 2 hours ago and it's still going strong, it could be much later, possibly evening, by the time it's rounded out and soft, and for me, much more wearable. I DO like this scent, and it does take me back in time, and I'm also happy to have it in my scent wardrobe for reference, but I don't see myself wearing this much. I much prefer to wear gourmand scents these days. Actually, Anais Anais would be a really lovely candle scent...and it definitely reminds me of one (although I can't pinpoint which). For that reason, it's possible that I'll use this as a room spray. Don't hate me, Anais Anais! It may be the best way to show you my love! <3

I found a little bottle of this really cheaply online and ordered it and I'm really pleased that I did! This scent was very popular when I was a child (though my mother never wore it) and it was one of the first perfumes I owned (when I was 14 I think). I loved it then but grew out of it and then when I revisited it it smelled awful - a powdery, flowery, screechy mess. I took a risk buying this on the basis of reviews but it really does smell how I remember it, soft and ethereal like an English Edwardian garden evoking images of ladies with parasols and long skirts. I will probably keep it back until spring and then wear it very lightly. It's great to own just for nostaligic reasons anyway.

So happy to report that L'Original smells exactly like my beloved early 1980's version. Anais Anais was, as so many of you have also written, my first grown up fragrance purchase. Just discovering sex, but still fairly innocent. Naughty but nice. That sums up Anais Anais in my opinion.

Phase 1. White regal lily (Lilium regale) + jasmine + green herbal minty note of herbal shampoo (galbanum) Phase 2. after half an hour flowers change in a mix of cloves + patchouli. There is no cloves or patchouli in the notes but I detect it.. A very 70-ties, hippie perfume.

Wow, they really did stray true to the vibe of the original! This is by now means watered down or made sweeter for wider appeal. The sandalwood and incense take a stroll hand in hand while the flowers are walking a few meters behind. Might treat myself with a little bottle.

Nice inoffensive perfume. Smells of sweet flowers and powder, almost candy like but with a freshness. Not much more than that, and can become a bit boring. On a pluss side it brings back childhood memories.

It is a clean smell, a bit powdery and floral. I find it a little mature for my taste. It is a good choice for a formal event though. Performance is ok.

I have a very old bottle of this, so take this with a grain of salt, but it smells like piss to me. It's not totally repulsive, and I don't hate it, but this is definitely something you have to get used to and not for everyone. The mixture of daffodil-esque florals and slight animalic base just kinda screams piss to me. Looks cute though.

In few words: very intense hyacinth. Horrible. I think that only people, who like deep floral scents, would be able to like it. Beautiful bottle though.

Blech!! reminds me of the old poison. From the 80s, absolutely nauseating. very 80s smelling...stinky!!

Fragrance Review For Anais Anais Top Notes Orange Blossom Galbanum Hyacinth Middle Notes Rose Lily Jasmine Base Notes Cedar Wood Amber Incense Sandalwood Anais, the first, the one & only Anais, a name I've always liked, in fact I used to play with an Anais in my old Brooklyn neighborhood, a freckle faced red haired girl who moved out after her parent's divorce, whom I was never close to but she remained in my memory anyhow. Anais is also the name of Anais Nin the well-known erotic travel writer. For me this fragrance is the epitome of a beautiful floral fragrance. I don't see the association with Victorian womanhood, or demure ladies of the 19th century. For me it's a simple but effective floral chypre. At times it reminded me of Fidji by Guy Laroche except not as soapy, warmer and definitely more floral. This is a capital F floral. At the first spritz, a bright and golden orange blossom pops out. It's like a jack in the box with an orange blossom, citrusy floral, fresh, and sweet. It smells like summer and spring, but due to the lack of notes it is more spring than summer. The heady rose and jasmine are beautifully paired. They're not powdery. These are clean green florals. There is an additional note of galbanum, which I'm crazy about, providing this scent with the necessary greenness and garden like atmosphere. It smells like a quiet, peaceful little garden where one can sit on a little bench and read a book, a garden of solitude and serenity, feminine, as if it belonged to the Mrs. of the Manor House. I can see how someone compared it to a Jane Austen novel heroine or setting. But for me, for it to be truly English or Anglo, it would need a distinct lavender scent or a bigger rose scent. The dominant flower note for me is still the orange blossom. Even as such it does have a virginal air, modest and sober, no nonsense. By today's standards, this floral creature is not only hopelessly romantic, but outdated and "mature". It smells like a woman who loves to escape into her novels and can't live in a world of terrorism, war, rampant crime and all kinds of evil doing. She has established world peace because it's in her dignified little world. This is a highly dignified fragrance. I picture women like Princess Diana and Audrey Hepburn, Julie Andrews. For a floral, it's not as heavily layered or complex. It's a superb intro to florals. When dry this scent develops into a warm little puff of incense, but it's mostly woodsy with sandalwood and cedar wood. An amber holds it together and smells really good but it is still very much a kind of sandalwood based fragrance. The flowers and the woods are so evenly paired as to make it one of the most delightful marriages of florals plus woods ever to be formulated into a fragrance. Anais has received numerous praises from the Fragrance Community. It was reformulated and re-released, and updated and several flankers have also been released. But for me this is the sweet beginning of it all. Lovely.

This was one of my first fragrances and I was probably still way too young for it at eighteen (1990). Bear in mind that I've not worn it since I was in my early 20s, mostly because it felt a little too serious for my very casual and quirky style. What I do recall: the incense and amber were very potent on me and it made the floral notes feel dusty and hyper feminine. I don't recall anything green about it, but my chemistry has always been odd, losing some notes and making wood and amber come forward fast. I remember I had to be exceptionally caution not to spray too much or I'd feel like it entered a room before I did, which is something I've never liked, having grown up in the 80s when fragrance was very in-your-face more often than not. It makes me think of a room with an old-fashioned, proper dressing table--the type that has an ornate hand mirror. It's a rosey colored silk blouse, a pencil skirt, and kitten toe heels. It's an elaborate up-do, heavily painted face, and makeup finished with an enormous, fluffy powder puff. If this were a person it would be a trim and elegant elder who still catches the eye of younger men because she's so well put together. Even if it's not pricey, it's a grande dame who likes things to be "just so".

I cannot recall any specific memories of who in my life may have worn this fragrance, I only know that it seems to be etched into my DNA somehow and is a fantastic match for my chemistry and who I am. Even with clothing, I can’t do wimpy or small scales, or A-lines, it’s not the proportion for my body or my shape. I need a lot of fabric, cut right. I love a large variety of scents, but I think florals can be quite difficult. You get just baby bear, or maybe cousin bear, but never mama and papa bear for a cohesive family. I need a little strong plus some soft. This is sort of everything that works for my skin.....Not too sheer or wispy or sweet or skanky. Big florals but in an anchored way that never floats off nor overwhelms. I’m dying over the hyacinth in the beginning. This combination just feels like the floral that most works with my skin, and then a smidge of incense with a woody base. Sandalwood can be so sweet on me, this is perfect. Do I wish maybe it could last just a bit longer? Yes, but not many occasions I don’t say that. I’ll take what I can get. It doesn’t go mush, it has distinct stages, just as it should. It’s truly the perfect floral.

Like many women of my generation, Anais Anais was my first 'grown up' perfume, discovered as a girl. I smelled this on an older girl I befriended whilst travelling on holiday, and asked for it as a gift from my mother. After many years, I yearned to try it again; recapture that magical scent. I seem to be appreciating it even more now; enjoying its multi-faceted layers of potent notes: one moment evoking a garden of dewy tulips at dawn, efferevescent with greenness filled with hope; it later softens to a calming, soothing, powdery incense which simply makes one feel comforted and at home. I can envisage this beautiful bottle always being on my dressing table; an enchanting, timeless fragrance that I love.

Finally! An Anais Anais that I can wear! The previous reformulation was truly awful... I'd read reviews about it being soft, cozy and romantic but all I got was harsh screechy, frankly unbearable flower that felt dry and synthetic. This is something that I can truly enjoy and love. I'm so happy I went out on the limb to buy this (in EdT)... and at the bargain price of $19.99 at Marshall's! Buy it! It may not be everyone's taste since it is very floral, but it is beautiful. And like the reviews I've read in the past, it has an undeniably romantic and innocent vibe. Those ethereal dream-like ads finally make sense to me. Love it!

Anais Anais Original is was my dream perfume in my life. School time end, start work & earn = independency days with Anais Anais Original... I tried few times to betrayed Anais Anais Original! But end up each time I come more close than before. The others doesn't matter how expensive they are always I gave away, Some of them I used as room spray. Please Anais Anais Legent of the Parfums never ever let them disappeared...

At first whiff I thought “too grandma”, but now I love that about it. It’s so pretty, good for at night. I’ll echo the comments about soapy clean and floral, but this one is REAL strong. Grew up in the 80-90s and don’t recall any friends wearing this, but definitely some of their moms. I have to spray into a cotton ball and apply sparingly - could easily see this being headache inducing at first but the dry down is 🤌🏻❤️

This is really close to the original from 1978. Anais anais was the perfume I chose to wear when we got married in the mid-80's. I loved it - it was not too overpowering. I loathed the reformulated version - it smelt fake and 100% synthetic. It was vile, so I was happy to find s small bottle of l'originale to try. Happy I have found another trip down memory lane.

This is like a cheap version of Chanel No.19 Poudre. Smells almost the same. Wow! Smells a lot like hyacinth. But at the dry down it smells like cheap powder a bit. I dont know if the tester has gone bad or it is the scent itself. Husband didnt like it. He said Quatre is better.

Warm, soapy and a bit too sweet. I like it though. I love baby powder and soap, so it works for me. Has great sillage and longevity so don't spray too much. Reminds me of a baby, a bar of dove soap, bubbles, cream and milk, despite being very floral.

Does the EDP Anais Anais L'Original exist anywhere in North America or is it a mirage? Periodically I check the internet to see if it is for sale anywhere and I get nothing, not even on resale sites. Cacharel is messing with us methinks.

Pretty much like the previous formulation but with a much more subtle opening, which feels rather watered down without the screechy explosion of galbanum and lily of the valley I was used to. The drydown hasn't changed too much.
