CK One Chinese New Year Edition

THE SAME OR SIMILAR? A RAT IS A RAT. Who knows honestly. Same formula different bottle or something new altogether?....4 1/2 years later and I am still trying to figure it out. I bought this because it was under US$25 during the height of the pandemic sales and because how could I not buy such a cute bottle!!!??? This little mouse on a bottle was giving me everything that Spring of 2020 was not. I also had not worn CK1 since the mid 90's and I thought, heck...why not! I'm glad I purchased this as it brought back a lot of memories from that era including: -Steven Meisel (who shot the first ad campaign) -My HS crush Joey Stein. -MTV's The Real World (Pedro forever!) -Clearly Canadian The list goes on and on..... Had a lot of fun wearing this fragrance on my trips to the grocery stores, Covid testing sites and casual walks alone. The nostalgia of it all gave me the comfort I needed.

I love the classic CK one scent and this bottle was way too stinking cute to pass on, the red glass and rat with gold CK detail, ah! So cute! CK one is a very good for everyday use, it's my favorite scent to use when running out for errands or right after the shower on a lazy summer day. It also last reasonably long(4-6hours) and projects respectfully, it lingers on clothes very well, when I do my laundry I smell this on it days later. If you love Bergamot, amber, and musk, this is the one for you, and, you gotta try this classic if you haven't!!! Get a sample of CKone and then buy this cute bottle, I see plenty on eBay, I'm very glad I bought this edition of the bottle 🐀 ♥️

Mostly bergamot, powdery floral and musk! To me it's a lot less green/fresh than the original CK one. It's kind of like a nice, floral lotion. Makes me feel clean!

It's CK but rat mode. Generally it IS the same but it kinda feels slightly smoother imo. Difference is negligible but the hey , RAT BOTTLE

I bought it for the bottle because I love rats. The bottle is adorable. There's even a tail on the back. As far as the fragrance goes...if you like CK One, you'll like it. If you don't, you won't. It's really that simple because there's not much new here. I personally dislike CK One, so this fragrance is a big shrug to me. It's all about the bottle, baby! Happy 2020!

To release a fragrance like this in the year 2020 is very brave 😅

Never had a Ck One flanker before, and I always thought it's the same juice in a different bottle, but no: yes and no. Well, the opening is just the same, but then a creamy white flower takes the stage, to my nose something between gardenia and mimosa with hints of rose and a green tea lining. I am reminded of Prada's infusion de Mimosa and Elizabeth Arden's Green Tea flankers. Here the East Asian dewy transparency of tiny petals, already present in the original, is emphasized. It must be actually very hard to be as true as possible to the original, and then also creatively play on the particular theme. The result is a bit more tenderly floral, like a face soufflé cream before going to bed. And the bottle looks lacquered. So cool.

This is the same CK One juice bottled up in a red bottle designed for the Chinese New Year. Wearing it reminds me of high school when CK One was all the rage. It might smell slightly dated for today's teenagers but overall a very versatile scent perfect for the gym and everyday use.

Of all the flankers in this line that I love, strangely the original CK One really doesn't work for me. All i get is a watery soap smell from start to finish. This one is the same stuff in a different bottle. Pass.

The C looking like a tit makes the South Park quote "you need to lower your ideals of freedom to suck on the warm tit of China" a hilarious coincidence
