CK One Collector's Edition

Heads up on this one, flying under the radar... What we have here is another CK marketing goof-up, as this was to complement a Kardashian-inspired 2018 Winter line. This campaign showed the Kardashians, A$AP mob, and runway models, among others, with a soundtrack by Solange. All were photographed gathered on quilts inside a dusty-looking barn at the height of the late 2010's barn-core craze. One could argue this was the tipping point where society began to use barns more as backdrops than for agricultural purposes. All this is bottled inside a gorgeous Americana-inspired quilt patchwork, matte white, CK one bottle. This is one of my favorites in my CK One flanker collection and one of the best recent releases—the dry down features Ambrettolide, an ambrette seed musk. Remember, the CK line is often the speartip of many chemical companies', like Givaudan, fragrance trials. You end up with some fantastic stuff in these seasonal flankers. This holiday Collector's edition could easily be worn year-round like rosemary and pine-based marine freshies dominate the summer months. Its resinous, green scent is distinct, with a bitter character that is hard to pin down. The birch really comes through nicely. Above average projection for a CK One, this goes for hours. Lots of surprises here!

Many have heady things to say about this. Shut up lol It's the best parts of Acqua Di Gio and Aventus without the qualities of aventus I honestly find annoying and custom designed for the bitchmade. Suitable for the youngblood and adult enough for the oldhead. I've been wearing this for a few years and I'm precious with it because I know I'll be bummed when it runs out. I wish it were a perennial offering. At least those who run out have a very handsome bottle once it's empty. Die young and leave a sexy corpse or whatever the necrophile baiters say, right?

So... after some digging around, here is the story: The design is inspired by the Kardashian barn campaign (Spring 2018 CK Advertising) and a variation of the print appears on all the Calvin Holiday sets. As for the scent, it is a nice twist on the original CK One fragrance and can stand on its own two legs as a contender. It is one of the better CK One flankers in the recent history... all and all, minus the Kardashian thing, it is a winning combination that has already found its way into my collection!

What a surprise. To me, wearing it in the morning with 2o celsius , it strats with a blast of citrus, leading the way to the ambrorax and montblanclegendvibes. Not as bad as I thought it would be. Decent longevity, but it fades to a skin scent after 1h. Reapply if you can. :) Second day: 3hours top on longevity. This is trussardi my land twin. Blind buy? Only if is a bargain.

Tried this again and must say it's excellent if not really anything revolutionary. The above note listing seems incorrect both to my nose and what I've seen elsewhere online. This is not like the regular CK one but more of modern imo men's fragrance along the lines of Montblanc Legend/Legend Spirit, Versace Dylan Blue (definitely lots ambrox here!) and CK Eternity for Men EDP. The opening has a lovely crisp citrus then later there are most definitely some green and woody notes (rosemary & pine needles I read on another site) and it dries down with some definite ambergris/ambroxan vibes. Long-lasting with good sillage for me. Like I said nothing new as such but it's a surprisingly strong release for a limited edition product! Difficult to understand why CK didn't save this for a regular release as they would've no doubt had a decent selling product, as it is this is an under the radar gem imo.
