Defy Eau de Parfum

EDIT: Some more things to add, the drydown is very similar to K EDP by Dolce & Gabbana, a fragrance that I am not a fan of, because it is too bitter. However, Defy gets a pass- and is 100% more palatable in my opinion. My take is that Defy is the sweet younger sister of K, whereas K is the macho older bro. Defy is not a projection monster, but it does good. And enjoy that mandarin top note while it lasts- it is absolutely the icing on the cake for this fragrance! After that, there is a huge K-reminiscent drydown, only better in my opinion. I'll lower it to an 8.3 for factoring in a huge similarity to K EDP, since the drydown isn't as unique as it could be. Defy EDP is still a great pickup at a rackstore- wholly recommended! Holy hell I love Defy EDP so much. My first buy was a 1.6 oz for $30 bucks at Ross. For that price, I thought it was a great deal. I ended up buying another bottle as a backup (thinking that it was 1.6 oz), but that bottle was $40- and as it turned out- twice the size (what a treat!). If you see it, BUY IT at a discounter while you still can. 3.3 oz for $40 bucks is a great target price. As much as I love this fragrance, I still recommend that you test it in Sephora (@ Kohls) first, because it might not be for everybody (I am a 20/yo male, it suits my age well). I first noticed Calvin Klein Defy EDP as I was casually fragrance testing in Sephora. This is where it first caught my attention- as a sampler on display. And it was love at first smell. The leather note is prominent, but not overwhelming. It is blended very finely, especially the leather and vetiver. Take all of the notes listed for this fragrance, and blend them so that none of them smell like their individual parts; but each combine to create a sensual, alluring fragrance that is unforgettable. Some fragrances overdo it with top notes, or have distinctive elements that stick out too much (I'm looking at you, Cool Water- even though that drydown is what makes it). Defy EDP doesn't smell overly sharply of mandarin at all, and isn't overly spiced with pepper. It is just right, with a beautiful opening. One con with the fragrance is that, perhaps, I can see where the previous commenter compared it to a body spray. It does have that "generic" vibe to it.. but I love it so much, even so. Imagine walking into a mall, perhaps a clothing outlet. This fragrance might evoke those memories. Then again, the "outlet store"-esque scent probably has something to do with the fact that the mid notes (leather and suede) are both used for certain articles of clothing. If you are afraid of blind-buying this fragrance, remember that it is relatively easy to find (heavily discounted) at rack stores, and just check in with their return policies before you buy it. Quality assured. The longevity isn't perfect. The performance is fine, it gets the job done. But this is Calvin Klein we are talking about. I am partial to the house; i've smelled CK fragrances and consider them "hit or miss". Yet I love Defy EDP, and I wouldn't hesitate to call it a signature scent. 3.3 oz for $40 dollars? Best bang for my buck in the collection. Highly recommended. 9/10.

I grabbed this at Burlington for $35 cause it has been a few weeks since stopping at a rack store. I already really liked K EDP since it is different and easy to wear, versatile, signature worthy imo. I feel this is the Farenheit Aqua version of 2022. CK did a great job mainstreaming a blue frag, EDP, unique with the earthiness mixed with sweetness, anyone can pull it off, easy grab and go leather frag....I am glad to have it. It's 4-6 hours, never goes beyond 2-3 feet, but leaves a nice little trail later into the day. Good job by CK doing there own thing, not just go in the same direction of everyone else...I can't wear leather frags, not a fan personally of ombre leather etc......I like Leather/Suade in light sweet frags at times, but this is a great Gucci Guilty Green style scent that just works......I don't see how it is possible K and DEFY are not hyped online like other reduntant new relases and remixes. K EDP for $35 is a quality buy for anyone who wants a mass pleasing easy to wear blue leather, earthy, but sweet the right amount...If you like any of the King line, EDP best imo and this is a must have to have in the rotation. It's different enough to the average 90% of people.

I just acquired a couple of Leather frags and just open and wore it today. I can relate to why it is so nice smelling mass Appealing but in a different direction compared to the usual suspects from chanel and Dior. This is like a sweeter more mass Appealing Gucci Guilty Absolute. Note are pretty simple but I do not know why it's also kinda similar the opening and sweetness of Armani's Stronger With You Leather. Both I have too and I'll need to go back nose all 3 and compare closer side by side. Really lovely scent to wear.

I just had this amazing scent and funnily i found out that the dry down is pretty similar to Nautica Voyage's dry down except it's much stronger, darker and a bit powdery. They smell similar but obviously have two direction: oceanic vs leathery. Definitely reminds me of Tom Ford Ombre Leather. CK's fragrances are always cheap but this one is, you can say classy. Putting the fact that they made an expensive commercial video staring the dead Stark(the bodyguard guy).

Defy EDP is really good; certainly, it's much better than its current Perfume Rating in the mid 3's, and don't let the deservedly poor reviews of Defy EDT dissuade you from sampling this EDP. IMO, a very pleasant spicy-leather scent that leans citrus fresh. Performance is very good. The more I sniff, the more I like. I'm seeing 10 ml spray bottles for $19, so the price is reasonable. UPDATE: Just had my offer accepted for a 100 ml bottle, $50!
