Eternity

I grew up in a small town in the 90’s, and while the rest of the world was swimming in a cloud of clean musks and boisterous florals, my corner of space didn’t have access to any of it. Once in a while, you would come across someone wearing “scent” though - we didn’t call it perfume. Sometimes it would be pretty and soft, but most of the times it would be loud and offensive. The funny thing is, despite not having smelled any of the perfumes from the 90’s during the 90’s, each time I smell one now, I am taken right back to my childhood. Maybe some cheap dupes had trickled their way to our local markets after all? Or maybe it was just the vibe. Eternity was one of those scents that immediately felt familiar, even though I am sure I had never smelled it before. At first whiff, I get the spice, clove to be precise, even if there is no clove listed. Maybe it is the carnation? It is crisp and clean, and doesn’t feel warm - yet. Slowly but surely, the bouquet of flowers come into play - vibrant, almost sparkling. Like dew soaked blooms in a cold winter morning. The glitter and shine never leaves the scent - but instead mellows down because of heliotrope, musk and sandalwood, while amber makes it warm. Despite that this doesn’t turn creamy or lotion like. It retains its soapy freshness, like someone fresh out of shower. Something about it reminds me of L’eau D’Issey but while L’eau D’Issey has that signature melon note that people either love or hate that makes it sweet, this one retains its clean green scent with very little sweetness. I would wear this with a white tee and jeans. Or a white dress. Or a white shirt. You get the drift. This truly is such a pristine scent. Longevity, despite being a clean scent, is impressive. I get whiffs each time I move, or reach out my arm to get something. I smell it on my pillow the next day (I always spray the nape of my neck) and even though I am yet to spray on my clothes, I know this will last forever on them. So is it still relevant in 2023? Heck yes. Because does smelling clean and green ever go out of style? If you’re looking to smell unique in today’s world of sweetened white florals, grab this one. You really won’t regret it.

Eternity is charming, and this might be considered a stream of "hot takes", because I enjoy this, but I also don't think it's the most well-constructed of Sophia Grojsman's works. And...well, I adore S.G, but part of me speculates that the materials within Eternity are of lesser quality than other houses. Calvin Klein is often criticized as being entry-level stuff and not necessarily containing high-quality naturals or fixatives. I think I tend to agree with this claim, and it seems fair (I've tried a lot of CKs). Yet, there's always something fantastically casual, shamelessly pedestrian, wonderfully and refreshingly accessible about them all. And truly, this humbly fresh vibe is what I have come to appreciate most about their fragrances as a whole. I'm not the most refined person, and I've ALWAYS felt right at home in them (including the men's stuff). ~ This is a powdery house party of various florals. Lily-of-the-valley is the most popular a sorority sister hooking up with Patchouli - a total burnout who biked from the other side of town for a chance at her. Dirty meets soapy in some sort of cinematic way that happens to make all the sense in the world somehow. Marigold is handling drinks and music, truly a welcome face in a sea of chaos. Sunny, warm, welcoming...holding the whole thing together. Supported by her friend Amber, who is...kinda sloppy, but absolutely sweet and enjoyable. Sandalwood is waiting to make his move on Amber, but he's a shy, art major. Owing to Amber and Narcisse (who is table dancing...badly), nobody can hear him. Sage is sulking in the corner with her bottle of port that she brought herself, sharing nips of it with Sandalwood. Oddly enough, nobody can resist looking at her. She's jarring, and tries to have RBF, but she's gorgeous and everyone secretly adores her. Rose is puking outside by the fence. A total disaster. As the night wears on though, she straightens out a little. In all seriousness, this perfume is a fun, beautiful mess. I don't know why it's taken me this long to try it!

Ummm...I think my profile name says it all. My first bottle in 1991 was a gift from my then boss. Even though I was young I was only attracted to orientals and darker moody perfumes. I wore Magic Noire, Youth Dew, Coco. So receiving this tall bottle of light coloured perfume that smelled very clean clear and bright was weird to me. (Its now a yellow coloured juice but back then it was almost clear). It was so strong you would need only 2 sprays and you would be surrounded by a cloud of non stop scent and at maximum strength for 8 - 10 hours. I would pop it on because I thought it was a nice gesture of my boss but never gave it much thought because I was utterly not used to wearing something so bright and floral. But I noticed I kept receiving compliments galore. It was because of the compliments that I kept wearing it and when I finished the bottle I realized it had become a part of me. I would never be without a bottle over the next couple of decades. Another reason I love it is that I have worn this in happy times and some terribly bleak times and it never fails to make me feel beautiful. And its like perfume teflon for me. No sad or difficult emotions or memories stick to it like it can with some scents. It forever lifts me above the world and it's problems and strife. For me even though it has changed (in strength and has a sweeter and more flowery aspect etc) Eternity is true to her name for me. Eternally and forever transcendent.

ETERNITY Edp, it's the ONLY perfume I have in my collection and actually wear it for almost 30 years! I am 47 years now. It's the only one I LOVE for so long and never got tired off it. So many good memories with this one ! :) I remember when my brother left home at 18 and went to the USA, to university and he got me this gem when he came back. We didn't have it in Portugal yet, at the time. I was hooked! This was the perfume I choose for my wedding day :) Such a happy, nostalgic scent for me. It's a bright and sharp floral, a bit spicy, from the carnation, very classic , feminine and classy in my opinion. So well blended! A gem from the '90s really! For me, it's a masterpiece! I can never be without ETERNITY in my (+ 100 FB) perfume collection. I always have backups of different sizes. One big bottle on display, one small bottle for travel... I also use the body lotion. Joy in a bottle, this could be my signature scent but I really love to use a different one every day! I like variety :) Good performance and sillage too. My dear brother has passed away ( at 24 ) 20 years ago and this scent makes me remember him and all the love I will feel for him for all the ETERNITY <3

This was the first perfume my husband bought me, that was about 20 years ago. It was gift set with the large perfume, a travel perfume and body lotion. I still have it, except for the lotion. It hasn't turned colors and it still smells exactly the same. I love wearing this, it blends like a masterpiece with my body chemistry. Unfortunately, I had to stop wearing it. I had a coworker who sat hehind me ask me what I was wearing. Less than a week later she went and bought it and wore it everyday. I stopped wearing it. I know it wasn't made just for me but I can't stand for people to copy me. People think that's weird of me but I am an identical twin. I've shared most things for a big part of my life. When family, friends and acquaintances only know you as a twin it's hard to get from under that shadow....if that makes sense. But I digress. Where was I? Oh yes? This definitely has longevity and silage. I can smell it in me all day. Just whiffs of clean beautiful perfume all day. The smell of this is so unique it's hard to describe it. All I know is this perfume is clean, floral, powdery and delicious. I

in the early 2000's my sister and a friend used to wear this. It was quitely fragrant, it was pesent. Not overly strong to the point that it was overpowering. I always admired it on my sister. I was given a bottle this Mother's Day and I have been wearing it every day since. I agree that it is not as strong as it used to be, but it is still beaUtiful. I have been surprised that I keep reaching for it! I was standing next to a bunch of my scarves all hanging up in my closet and could smell the eternity wafting off them. I buried my face in the scarves and was transported to the early 2000's when I admired this fragrance so much. I usually wear Shalimar and don't swap it out for anything else other than a few days. This morning I got to work after an absence and my colleague gave me a hug saying how happy she was that I was back, quickly followed by how good I smelt. Awesome! Eternity is pretty good value here in NZ. I think I will always have a bottle ready to go. Highly recommend.

I have a 100ml bottle bought in the late 90 ́s. It ́s one out of two perfumes I owned up until 6 months ago when I became a frag enthusiast. For me, this just smells Eternity, it ́s definitely an unique scent for me, and I can recognize it if someone wears it. But now being a frag head and all, I need to dig deeper and see what notes I can smell: ) First there is citrus and there ́s a lot of fresia going on. The patchouli is definitely there all along from the beginning, there's something peppery going on as well. This is a beast mode perfume, 1-2 sprays are enough. Longevity on clothes for weeks. Sillage is mega: It stays in the room for hours and you can smell it when you enter even if you ́re currently wearing it. I have to be careful not to overspray! I get compliments with just 1-2 sprays. I don ́t feel it ́s dated but maybe people think so because of its uniqueness and their memories of it? I only wear this when I want to feel nostalgic.

Spring florals. Lots and lots of spring florals. It's like you are wearing a spring floral bouquet on your skin. It's not like 24 Faubourg, which also smells like lots of spring florals. But 24 Faubourg smells like the inside of a florist shop and quite hyacinth heavy. It has green stems in the scent profile, which Eternity has not. In comparison Eternity has more of a freesia and carnation dominant floral bouquet scent profile (rather than hyacinth and green stems). So it's equally mega floral, but more of a floral bouquet rather than a flower shop (as it doesn't have that cut stems note). Very lovely, very appropriate for spring and summer. It has a lovely freshness to it. If you don't mind gardenia (which can sometimes come across as "vintage" smelling) and you'll love spring florals then you'll love it.

Eternity smells just like that - like Eternity. Nostalgic, reminiscent of childhood, smells soapy and that's what makes it cozy. I don't see smells through notes but through images and sensations, it evokes. As someone mentioned before, it reminds me of my aunt as well - but in a good way - as she always channeled chic and style. Many seem to disregard soapy smells - I do want to use smells that smell like fresh crisp elevating soap - full of light and brightness and space. I love Santa Maria Novella's Rose Gardenia as it takes me to a bathtub somewhere in sunny Italy where the air is so clean the smell of soap makes it even softer. I love Diptyque's Do Son and the classic See by Chloe (sadly discontinued). From here to Eternity...

I absolutely love this fragrance. It’s a beautiful green, clean floral that makes me feel so fresh and happy whenever I wear it. The violet is super prominent on me, it gives off such a lovely powdery vibe to the perfume which makes it feel softer and not too floral. I saw some other reviews say it has an almost tea scent to it which I totally get! It’s an almost green tea note somewhere mixed in and it’s so pretty. I wear this as a daily perfume a lot as it’s perfect for daytime occasions, I’m not too sure I would wear this as an evening fragrance though as I don’t think it suits that vibe. I highly recommend if you are looking for a fresh, floral fragrance that is perfect for everyday wear.

You know that beach scene in 'From Here to Eternity," (1953) with Burt Lancaster and Deborah Kerr? This is what this perfume reminds me of, not because it's beachy, but it has a retro aquatic feel; elegant, classic, feminine, strong, yet understated with its smooth jade greenness. I get a very prominent violet note here which makes me reference the original YSL Paris with the pink cap, and Balenciaga L'Essence. Violet always gives me watery vibes -- sweet, fat, romantic, melancholic dew drops. The spicy carnation radiates elegant heat; freesias add a hint of coy playfulness. Amber, orange and sandalwood hint at a liquid gold sunset. Sexy stuff, if retro beach fantasies are your thing!

what a classic! 'eternity' was my mother's old signature, which i didn't realize until after i bought and started wearing this 🤡. i do love this scent and have been trying (somewhat successfully) to reassociate it with more positive things. i love bright, warm floral scents like this. it's formal without being, like, authoritarian? while still maintaining an air of comfort around it. an older white woman fragrance for fucking sure. frankly iconic + dare i say set a standard? my only real problem with this scent is that it doesn't last an 'eternity' on my skin. it only stays strong for around 3 hours at the very most. disappointing! especially considering how i blew 80 dollars on it.

My mom has been wearing this for over 30 years, and I am so pleased to have read other reviews furthermore confirming this fragrance's longevity in people's lives. Maybe it is a mix of nostalgia that keeps someone wearing this fragrance, I'm sure we all have some of those in our collection. But CK Eternity is also very clean, fresh, with a hint of elegance as well. Whenever I pick up this scent, I am reminded of all the formal events I have been to with my mom, the blends of citruses and florals are so damn fresh and inviting, easily a safe-buy as well. It's only fitting that my dad wears CK Eternity for men as well. 9.5/10 and a staple in any collection.

Mexican Bird of Paradise! I have never ever smelled the scent outside of the actual plant. Until Eternity. Wondrous! Didn’t wear this in the ‘90s and wish I had. Has the distinctive, fantasy universe, fruit and flower tea base that is Sophia Grojsman’s trademark. She rules that domain. Eternity adds fresh, sweet-green, citrusy, round, lush, and miraculously spicy to her magical tea thing. The mix is beautiful. This fragrance deserves way higher marks than it seems to be getting here — trends don’t interest me, just art, interest, fun, and beauty and Eternity checks those boxes. Enjoying the hell out of wearing this. It’s fun, a lot of fun.

I am not a fan of CK, but this one is an exception. I wore it in my teens and early 20s, so it holds lots of memories for me. Most importantly, I detect lily of the valley, which is one of my favorite scents in the world. Eternity is a classic, clean, smooth, and vibrant scent. Youthful and fresh without being too immature or girly. A mood booster with major light feminine vibes, gracious, radiant, sparkling. Good for any occasion, including for work, as its presence is noticeable but not overpowering, not screaming for attention. Great durability and sillage for a fresh floral, very affordable price.

This is spring and happiness in a bottle to me. Yes, it's very 90's, and yes, it reminds me of my favourite aunt - but it still doesn't make me feel like an aunt when I wear it, if that makes sense. Nostalgia aside, the carnation and narcissus really stands out to me, and I LOVE it. I think it's actually quite unique! It might even be the fragrance I've owned with THE best longevity, I can smell this on my clothes for days. It's turned out to be somewhat of a migraine trigger for me though, so these days I rarely use it, but I still adore it. It makes me feel clean, put together and optimistic.

Timeless classic, one of THEE most beautiful, feminine, floral scents ever created, truley masterful perfumery. The scent is unmistakable, original and no other parfume comes to mind when its time for comparisons. I only WISH that the original ( Pure Parfume Splash) was still available. Now that version reveals the TRUE vision Sophia Grojsman had when she created this classic, timeless beauty! My mom would go nuts if I could get my hands on that concentration, but alas.. she's settled for the eau de parfume and still loves it.. close enough I suppose.. 10 outta 10 timeless gem!

I didn’t wear this in the 90s but I’m sure someone I was around did. (I wore CK One) I graduated HS in 96 and started college in the fall of 96. Reminds me more of college than HS. I love it. Spicier than I was anticipating, a little powdery, i definitely don’t think this is dated if you weren’t there. Smells less powdery than a lot of the current perfume offerings. It smells like my idea of a proper perfume, if that makes sense. Classic. Not gourmand or atmospheric. The only note I can identify without a question is the carnation. I tend to like most of CK’s creations, though.

i feel like this perfume could be the definiton of a inoffensive, office/work perfume that is light, fresh, clean but not powdery or musky and leans more towards unisex than feminine, overall. it is a floral scent, yet to me, what i immediately think of is either baby wipes or powder in the most flattering way. the scent just feels airy, soft, clean, and this could be one the few perfumes. that feel this nice and airy while carrying 'green' notes. it makes me feel clean, put-together but not with much effort (if that makes sense?) and reserved.

The timeless original perfume extract is the only one that counts, a bouquet of white flowers, clean classy and sophisticated, Grojsman's masterpiece, inside a simple designed tiny bottle with no name on it, that was genius, I still have it and love it. Then came the atrocious reformulations (which I'm pretty sure most of the negative reviews are based on) by Unilever and Coty, they even change the name to "Eternity for woman" put a cheap plastic cap on top and there you go "Eternity Botched" Not to mention the amount of unnecessary flankers.

I love this. It's special and ultra femme without being sweet. Everything mixes together to make it more than the sum of its parts. Definitely similar to Wings, but do I want both? Yes. It's like laundry detergent and magic and 1995. I picked up a dress I'd worn with it while getting clothes together, and it still smelled beautiful days later. Better than any of its flankers as well. A time capsule of sunshine to a childhood that didn't really exist for me, but one I like to visit just the same.

I usually don’t like the classic and old perfume but this one is so lovely. I strongly dislike patchouli in fragrances but I feel like in this one in blends so beautifully with other notes that it does’t even register to my nose. This is a very happy scent to me because it really makes me think of a sunny day, laying in a meadow in spring/early summer. It’s a very warm scent, it feels like the morning sunshine on your skin. Beautifully herbal, floral and clean, perfect for spring and summer.

Oh my god this is perfect. Definitely top 5 perfumes for me. As an introverted female who adores all things beautiful and peaceful (I'm a bit socially awkward/very cerebral/always in my head and thus I have more of slightly cooler energy), this fits my vibe like a glove. It's just so... natural! :) I absolutely adore RL's "Romance" and these are like sisters to me, with Romance being warmer and Eternity being cooler. Ah, Eternity makes me so happy and calm. Thank you for existing!

This caught my eye based on the notes combination, tried it on the skin and i'm in love! It's the kind of a fragrance that forms a soft floral cloud around you. Super ethereal. A bit powdery. A bit of patchouli and woody notes to form a base for the beautiful airy bouquet. Smells like walking through the garden, well balanced, this can never go out of style. My new go-to spring x summer office siren scent. Price is amazing for the longevity. Truly iconic.

Ive always found this scent to be timeless and classy. The floral notes mix perfectly with the sandalwood/amber undertones for a perfectly intriguingly feminine scent. This scent goes through many phases as at first it’s a bit musky, floral and then lastly soapy fresh. They don’t call this perfume Eternity for nothing because it LASTS forever and is loved forever by many. I always recommend any perfume enthusiast to have this on their shelf.

A perfect clean crisp floral fragrance with a slight coldness to it. Somehow despite this it has it's own identity which renders it unique. This is beautifully refreshing. The carnation is very strong in this but I personally love that what is otherwise a cold clean floral has a kick of spice. It definitely smells like a Sophia Grojsman fragrance and reminds me a lot of a Estee Lauder White Linen but without the aldehyde lemon combination.

CK Eternity isn't in my top 5 but I must say, she is perfect. An easy reach, office friendly, bedtime friendly, all seasons, all occasions, just perfect for all. Bright, soapy, and airy with a hint of spice. I will never be caught without a bottle of this gem. Can be layered with almost anything to add brightness. It reminds me of the OG Freesia Body Fantasy spray but a grown up version. Perfection.

This fragrance hold a lot of sentimental value to me as it was one of my mom's favorites, and it comforts me and makes me think of her when I wear it. I feel like the greenness of it might smell too sharp to some noses, so I haven't worn it out in public, only at home. I like to apply it right after a shower as I feel like it compliments the smell of soap and shampoo.

My bottle of Eternity was kept from about 25 year ago , still got half bottle. Tonight I took it out and sprayed on my shirt , wow ... the vibes is so good with fresh floral and I can sense slightly honey at the same time . This gotta spray more to reveal its beauty , last time I had spray too little 😋 Now I like it alot , feel sophisticated yet calming 🥰🥰🥰

I am in Early30’s. I find it a little bit more matured. Meaning late 40’s early 50’s but there is something about this Smell that I am just so captivated with. Green, Crisp. Powdery that is just Feminine power but not too loud. This is the fragrance that I can smell on me & that is why I love this alot. I want a Perfume I can smell myself with. It lingers

I love Eternity, I love its refined melancholy, its silent and ethereal atmosphere, its bouquet extraordinarily balanced between life and death, between earth and water. An exciting perfume, rich in contrasts, amplified in the last decade by Christy Turlington. A sort of modern Ophelia wrapped in the floral torpor of this leaden, magnificent creation.

This has been my #1 Fragrance for 30 years. I compare everything else I try to it. I have a handful of other frags that I enjoy, but keep coming back to the OG Eternity. Super sad the reformulated version is a figment of the OG. Of all the flankers, I enjoy Rose Blush the most. Getting tougher to find as it was discontinued years ago

Hyper feminine, sensual fragrance, a magical minuet between the clean freshness of spring freesia and the soft purity of narcissus, framed by sensual and enveloping amber notes.

When this came out I thought it was so modern. Couldn’t stop wearing it. It’s not exactly the same, but I still find it to be a unique green floral with a modern edge. To me it’s not soft- maybe the carnation and freesia make the statement. I will always love this scent, it lasts forever.

I first bought this in 1992 and it has stood the test of time. It’s a masterpiece of a fragrance. I loved it then and I still love it. I have an original bottle I got in 1995 which I’ve kept in a cupboard. It smells as fresh and as long lasting as it did back then. I love it.

Loved it. Had to buy some chemist-store perfume in a hurry and this was the only one that stood out and was not sickening (like the celebrity pongs). Reminds me a little of Tommy Hilfiger's unisex fragrance for some reason, the citrus I think.

My wife wore this when we started dating in high school nearly 30 years ago. It may be dated but it instantly takes me back to the 90’s with happy memories. Will always have a special place in my heart. Very feminine and floral.

This is such a classic fragrance. So well balanced between the citrus notes and the floral notes. None are too overpowering. It is clean without being overtly feminine. Anyone could wear this. It's truly a masterpiece.

I bought this because in today’s world of fruity vanilla perfumes this smells refreshing to me. I think I’m a little tired of all of the new releases smelling the same. So I’m going back to a classic.
