Obsession Night for Men

Of course it is not Obsession, it's Obsession NIGHT! What shines in the day and is warm gets smoother, cooler and laid-back at night...makes sense to me. Obsession came out in the 1986, and this came out 2 decades later; so of course it is more modern and lighter. ONM is spicy, cool and smooth-I find it very intruiging... This scent starts with pears glazed in citrus with some spicy cardamom and a cool and bitter silvery artemisia. The fruitiness is juicy and not too sweet, and the herbs & spice add subtle hints of the original. The heart is a musky smooth, warmed suede that works well in cooler night air and crisp fall days. At very first sniff, I got the oriental feel; but thought maybe it should have been a 'spicy' as opposed to a 'woody'. The vetiver gives it some woodiness in the drydown and the patchouli makes it earthy and rich, while vanilla adds a dark sweetness that rounds it out well. This is a darker, softer interpretation of Obsession and when you want something more subtle and sweet with hints of spices and a sexy creaminess, reach for this one... Sillage: pretty good Longevity: good (on me) Overall: 4/5 I own both the mens and the womens versions and find they both work well on my skin. I can't believe people are saying this does not last; because I can smell it on clothing (after applying to skin) the next day, and more than a hint lingering on my skin. I am glad I got an extra bottle of this since it has been discontinued! Very luxurious, modern and sexy...

Easily my all time favorite patchouli fragrance. Recently bought Boss bottled absolu due to its hype and I can safely say I wish I had bought 6 bottles of Calvin Klein Obsession Night instead for the same price. Kinda also like Gisada Ambassador Intense, but Obsession Night just gives me that incredible soothing feel without the overpowered sweetness of BBA and GAI. I gotta say, that if you love Patchouli as much as I do, you definitely need to stock on a couple of these bottles. I have bought 4 bottles along the past decades and I recently got me a 125ml from Zivada and I cannot notice any significant reformulation as what happened to Obsession, but this doesn't mean it won't happen in the foreseeable future. Hate me if you want, but this is a handsome masculine night fragrance. Not juvenile, but perfect for men older than 30. I liked it when i was in college, but I just love it now. In the region where I am at, I go complimented so many times wearing CKON and I got three bad remarks in the same exact night, while wearing Boss bottled absolu. I thought it was my skin initially, but when I gave them the bottle to spray on their wrists, they got as repulsed as before. Every single time we go to a restaurant or a pub with my wife, she asks me to wear Obsession Night and not to experiment with "random sh1t".

Within the last year or so I've began to lose interest in new fragrance releases, mainly because everything being put out is just too sweet for my tastes, but also because I've developed a strong desire to re experience old school fragrances from my childhood. I'm 39 so basically the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s. But anyway on to the fragrance. I honestly purchased this one because I loved the look of the bottle and for the fact it was dirt cheap. I wasn't expecting to like the fragrance because It was a flanker and a very unknown one at that, so I figured it must've been a flop. Well I was wrong.... This one does not get the accolades that it deserves. Opens with a fresh pear accord layered with soft warm leather notes. Very easy to wear and smells expensive. Performance is strong. Nearly as strong as the original Obsession which if you go even one spray over it's going to get cloying. Never had a complaint yet and I have had a good amount of compliments. Therefore I can definitely say I recommend this one for sure. It's even a completely safe blind buy because it's very low priced and pretty much universally liked. Also no one even has this one these days so it's unique. Unfortunately, it has been discontinued. But you can get a bottle dirt cheap on any fragrance discount website. Paid $25 for mine.

First impressions on this discontinued scent from CK; I really wasn't sure what to expect with this so wasn't expecting too much and to my surprise I found this to be a really nice, elegant yet modern fragrance. It is subtle for sure yet it's somehow rather seductive. I believe it suits perfectly for what this fragrance was intended ie to be a night/evening wear, for a date or rather close encounter with a special lady. I definitely pick up on the cardamom, nutmeg and vanilla. So after just a quick test I'm glad I picked this up for a relatively low price online as I didn't really have anything quite like it in my collection. Yet another underrated/overlooked (and discontinued!) scent from the house of CK. Just to add: the beautiful deep blue semi-mirrored bottle is superb, pics don't do it justice. UPDATE: 16 March 2019. This does sit very close to the skin for me but longevity is surprisingly good, especially on clothing, where it smells almost the same for me. The softness suits this as it is a great date/close encounter fragrance and can be worn formally day or night. I also wear it for myself at night as it's so comforting.

I've had this for a year, so is it still worth keeping? Yep, still a nice one, OK it's not going to change most people's lives but it's pleasant and comforting. O.N. is rather soft but then some scents are better that way, if it was strong it would change the calm mood of the fragrance. A subtle, pleasing and well balanced scent, it's not your raunchy or wild 'night' fragrance but a cosy night in scent with a small hint of mystery. Could work as an early spring daytime scent too. Far better than many more expensive (and/or hyped) scents, this is a goodie, worth it even just for the lovely bottle alone imo. Inoffensive - there's really not much to hate here but likely not much to love for most people, especially if they judge on a quick test alone. Perhaps not the outright gem I first claimed but I do really like this one still and so glad to own a bottle: overall: 7.5/10

I got this fragrance years ago as a Xmas present from my Mom and as a fan of Obsession (both male and female - I still wear them) I was pleasantly surprised with this edition. I bought another bottle today for 25 quid (100ml) and it's gonna be my every day fragrance this summer. It's a bit sweet and spicy but not too overpowering. It's more "come closer to me to smell it" which I absolutely love. The pear is a bit musky and mysterious and that's what I am expecting from my summer fragrance. Perfect to wear 24/7. It does remind me of Black Orchid but it's not as in your face as Ford's creation. Perfect blend for people who don't like "sporty" or "fresh" fragrances that smell like Fairy Platinum :D

Melancholy pears and spiced vanilla, like a really nice perry but without the undertone of alcohol. I wish this were stronger, it's beautiful but just so ephemeral. Even when over spraying over heavy moisturiser, it vanishes from my skin in a like an hour. I've found that spraying this insides the sleeves, and on the upper back and front lining of a jacket I'm wearing, does really improve the longevity (10h+ very intimate sillage) but it's only really noticable if the fabric is warm from wear, and even still the scent bubble is hella subtle. Edit: 2 months after posting this review and longevity is now up to three hours on skin. Still very intimate sillage though.

This scent is amazing in my opinion. I love how the Pear and Vanilla come together and make a kind of coconut scent as stated by 'benpaul12'. But I think wat is very distinct to me is how the grapefruit and patchouli become more apparent over the course of the drydown and THOSE are the scents that occupy the sillage of the fragrance. So up close you got Pear/Vanilla "coconut" flavor which is sexy and close. Butthe further out you go have Grapefruit/Patchouli which is exciting and playful. It is basically a scent-trap for chicks. It is pretty genius.

I wore this yesterday and was reminded of just how good it is. I feel it's perfect for a gloomy day, very cosy to me (without being too spicy or sweet), like being snuggled up under a warm quilt with the cold rain outside and the grey blue light spilling into the room. This to me has a superbly mysterious vibe which almost seems a paradox given it's comforting nature. Obsession Night is a smooth and sensual delight, definitely a 'hidden' or overlooked gem which I highly recommend trying before it disappears into the night forever...

When I first tried this I thought it was a good fragrance but didn't put to much thought into it. When I gave it a second wearing a time later I become hooked! I wore this for about 3 days straight and couldn't put it down! This is a balanced and very versatile fragrance. It is a night fragrance but you can wear this for day time purposes as well. For me this is one I want people to notice when I wear it. You can wear this to the gym or around women with excitement! This grew on me and now it's one of my favorites!

I liked it. I just bought this one and the regular one (Obsession). The two are kinda similar. I smell the spicy-incense thing of the Obsession in this one too, but softer. On top there's vanilla and pear (the pear on this one is like Pear Glace, from Victoria's Secret). It's better blended, less invasive, more intimate then the regular Obsession. Update: i get kind of a coconut smell. It reminds me a little bit of Deseo, by J.Lo (The first one), except that this one is more masculine and 'darker'

I have a bottle of this from when Calvin Klein was distributed by Unilever. This is a really nice scent, and quite strong. I'm surprised, because I usually find that Calvin Klein scents seem watered down. I'm not sure how the Coty version smells, or if there's any difference at all, but this is a really nice musky night time scent. I really enjoy it. I love the cardamon in it, as well as the vanilla, patchouli, and vetiver. Classy scent!

It's all about the dry down with this fragrance! In the first 3 hours is just some pastry smell But then comes the magic - must be the patchouli - vetiver and a bit of musk in the base. They last for a very long time on my skin, even on the next morning I can feel their strong and divine presence... Tranquil Mystery . All in all is very charming and sensual fragrance. Like an invisible smile in the night.

I hated this stuff the first time I sprayed it. But it seriously grew on me after awhile. At first it smelled like vanilla coated pears with dill sprinkled over the top. Kind of made me nauseous but now i like it. Took a lot of warming up to. The longevity and silliage is not that great. Most Calvin Klein fragrances are bad in the longevity and silliage department. Dark Obsession is a lot better.

Yes, it does have something that reminds me of Black Orchid. But just “reminds” me. I didn’t buy it because of that (I collect and was interested in the notes) so it was funny when I was like “it reminds me of BO” because I forgot that it was mentioned here. It’s nice, kinda fresh in the beginning and then creamy patchouli (what I love) and a bit earthy. If you like this DNA it’s a good buy.

This fragrance is amazing. In my opinion it’s one of the best pear noted fragrance of all time. It’s really good and it’s a very masculine fragrance. This is definitely a compliment getter and a mass appealing scent. It’s great value for money and smells great. Has decent projection and longevity too. Hands down my favourite Calvin klein fragrance.

A nice vanilla/fruity scent. Starts with pear and vanilla. The drydown is floral , fruity and white musk which is pretty close to the skin - a bit like Rive gauche Light for men. It does have it's own character however. Not bad, but I will only buy it in future if I see it cheap.

Obsession Night is a somewhat forgotten masterpiece. It’s not an everyday fragrance, but a typical date perfume. A little dark, masculine, sexy, with a satin-like scent. Powerful, yet not overwhelming. With this fragrance, you won’t be going home after the dinner date.🫠

Been wearing this on and off for a while now. It's gorgeous but could do with more potency. However, it's a fruity/vanilla characterful scent. I would buy this again definitely - but only in a bargain bin because it's just not an EDT strength in my opinion.

This stuff is my absolute favorite it's honestly so versatile you can ware it anyday any time any occasion and smell super fresh a clean i heard it was now discontinued wich makes me sad cuz my bottle is almost empty
