Candie's Men

This is my first review on here, and I figured I should start with the first fragrance I ever purchased. When I was in high school, this hipster-y kid walked by me in our auditorium. This amazing smell trailed and lingered behind him. I wasn't particularly friendly with this kid, but I couldn't resist tracking him down and inquiring to know what he was wearing. He told me he was wearing a mixture of canela oil and Candie's for Men. (Later I found out mixing fragrances was called "layering".) I complimented him and forgot about it as I never wore or bought fragrances. Without any intentions of buying cologne, I quickly browsed the fragrances offered by a local half priced store. There, I found a three piece gift set of Candie's for Men. I remembered the name Candie's, and I immediately purchased it. ON TO THE REVIEW: This fragrance opens up with an inviting freshness not found in other "fresh" or "ozonic" fragrances. The freshness breezes with a faint, smooth green sweetness, almost forming a finger and beckoning others around you. I would describe this green sweetness as something very synthetic but pleasant. After the top note freshness subsides a bit, it becomes smooth, musky, and woody. While smooth and woody, Candie's maintains its brightness and green notes. I received so, so, so many compliments on this fragrance. The scent memories attached to this fragrance are invaluable. Smelling it today takes me back to the chilly spring mornings of 2004 when I would marinate myself in Candie's for Men. I don't detect any of the notes listed. I wish I could smell watermelon. Candie's for Men is very fresh, and there's an undeniable element of youth. It's extremely bright and playfully enticing. I would highly recommend as a starter fragrance, but Candie's has been discontinued, and the bottles left on the market are completely overpriced. If you have a bottle, cherish it.

This has been my signature scent since it was released in 1999 and I was in middle school. Every year for xmas Id get a candies gift set. It is a fresh sour/ citric / candy scent. Not overly sweet, and doesnt smell at all synthetic. It starts out with a sour watermelon note and fades to a critic musk. I stocked up on these, and the going price is above $100 now! The aftershave can be had for under $10, so I bought some glass atomizers and keep this in my car / work bag. For a summery scent, it lasts a long time. I get 6-8 hours on it, and since Ive been wearing it so long I cant really smell it anymore, even after applying, but I still get tons of compliments from others. This fragrance has led me on a never-ending quest to find a similar fragrance thats still in production (aka not ridiculously overpriced). Yes, its a young scent, yes it has a cheesy name. Back when the ads were still running, it was all about the sex appeal of this one. This is my most complimented fragrance. Ive bought some bad bottles of this, where they smell burnt / anise notes, but the "good" ones of these of mine are straight up candy scents. The bad ones were probably fakes, or improperly stored considering how old this is now. I switched to blu mediterraneo arancia di capri as my signature scent, but thats just as expensive, albeit the best replacement Ive found.

This came out the year I got married and it was one of the first things my wife bought me...at the time, to broke 21 year old college students, even a bottle of Candie's was a luxury. She loved it and so did I...just a nice floral and citrus musk. Nothing special or earth shattering. As my nose matured and my budget improved, Candies didn't get as much use and then, before I realized it had been discontinued. My bottle ran out and I didn't want to pay niche prices for something I used to get at CVS for $30...so that was that. Nostalgia is a powerful thing because a couple years later I had turned Candies for Men into the best smelling fragrance I'd ever had based on my memories. So I bit the bullet and bought a 100mL from ebay. Boy am I glad I did...it smells just like I remember. Like being young and hopelessly in love in the late '90s. Grapefruit and melon and musk...the scent pyramid for a hundred fragrances - but this just smells different than the rest to me. I don't think I would pay the price for Candies if I didn't have such powerful memories associated with it but personally it was worth every penny. And my wife still loves it.

This scent is a sleeper. Really, out of the bottle it wasn't something that blew me away. However, after about 30 minutes the magic happened...at least on my skin. It's basically a sweet and sour scent in the beginning. Melon and lemon. After a few minutes magic happens and the musk kicks in while the sweet sour combo lingers. I love this scent. My wife loves it as well. Sad it's discontinued. I ran out last year and have been looking around the auction sites for a deal. Unfortunately I am not the only one looking for it. Prices are high. Got some KC Reaction as a sub, and while I really like it, as both share notes of melon and musk, Candies is special to me. KC Reaction smells a lot like Candies, not in the opening, but the drydown, but the sillage and longevity issues with Reaction are not problems with Candies.

Candies was like a young man's dreams: fresh and optimistic before the mind numbing drudgery of life beat you down... I bought the gift set (cologne, skin cream, deodorant) for myself in Texas when I was in the service. I was in my early twenties. I guess this was like Drakkar was in the 80s, only we can't wear this now like forty somethings do with that. At any rate, I really did love this. I only remember a melon scent and I wouldn't really say watermelon, but it was pleasant. One of the few fragrances I've actually gotten attention from women for. It worked and I enjoyed that too. Technically I still have this: it sits on my bathroom shelf but it's spoiled. I'd love to have this recreated in a fragrance oil.

I'm partial to Candies for Men because it was one of my first colognes that I wore as a teenager in the late 90's and early 2000's. I would remember the scent anytime and I think Carmen Electra was in the advertisement campaign which was awesome. It really was a generic and cheap green "freshie" that did not have great projection or longevity, so the experience is more nostalgic than anything. I refuse to pay eBay prices, so the closest clone that I have been able to find was #Candy by DUA. However, #Candy was overly cloying in that it was an extrait de parfum...way too strong for me. Simply the scent of my youth.

Purchased the DUA dupe of Candie's for Men - called #CANDY. It smells IDENTICAL in the opening. DUA states that they hammed up the "watermelon" note. I didn't notice anything different about the opening. The difference is that the DUA #Candy has a drydown identical to Aventus. Similiar to Aventus, the birch notes in #Candy are suuuuuuper smokey compared to the original Candie's for Men. The DUA drydown is that cheap metallic Azzaro Chrome metallicness. I will use the rest of the DUA dupe, but I can't be certain I will bother repurchasing it. Definitely check it out, you really can't go wrong.

Folks - I finally CRACKED THE CODE. If you've ordered from FragranceNet, they always send you a sample of their in-house fragrance "Exceptional Because You Are." They will send you a men's or women's sample depending on the target gender of the fragrance you bought. The men's version of Exceptional Because You Are smells like Candie's for Men. It's playful, bright, and smooth woody suede. Unfortunately, the attractive opening of Candie's sweet greenness (that is just so damn attractive) doesn't last long in Exceptional Because You Are. Check it out!

This was my signature scent in jr high school. I loved it, from what I remember it just had a unique inoffensive somewhat masculine scent. The past 10 years I've purchased about 3 bottles of fragrance for myself. I was reminiscing to my gf a couple months ago about candies and looked up a review of it on YouTube. Since that video I've been watching and buying new fragrances and loving the "hobby" of collecting and wearing fragrances. So I guess I can either thank or blame candies for the start of a never ending expensive hobby.

Used to wear this back in my highschool days when it could be had for very little I still have all my empty bottles and some maybe 1/4 full when I'd replace because you know id overspray to make it last til that bell rang lol such a great fragrance that has yet to be duplicated Im glad I saved my bottles because I love spraying this every once in a while and transforming into the top g in highschool

I have the new Edt of this that came out a couple of years ago and it's a fantastic scent! If you like Polo Blue and Acqua Di Gio then you'll like this! This is a fragrance you wear for women's attention! This is a recognizable scent that you probably have smelled back in the late 90's to early 2000's. Again the new Edt for men is fantastic!

This was on every Christmas wish list I had in the late 90's. This smelled so good, this scent is the full on vive of the late 90's. Every bubble pop MTV music video with dudes in bleached hair smelled like this I guarantee it.

This is bizarre... the reboot of Candie's Men 2021 opens very similar as the original, with orange-y tangerine facets replacing the aqueous fruit sweetness of the original... Then it turns into an orange soap blob.

Man this was a classic cologne in high school. The women loved this and the compliments never stopped. For younger guys for sure but I will still wear this if I had it.

The new reformatted Candies is awful, don't waste your time and money. Gone is the best note, watermelon, utterly ridiculous. Smells cheap and gives me a headache.

I have 2 bottles of Candies for men one has 4 digits and the other one has 5 digits anyone knows why?

Its back but is not the same .😣 no watermelon thats sad :(

EDIT 2: Basically if you take the ‘watermelon’ out of the notes (especially the number one spot because it’s just not there) you get basically exactly what this smells like. Incredibly safe, generic, ‘meh’ of a Frag. I’m happy I only got a few samples of this because this scent can already be found in almost everyone’s collection in some form or another in many generic scents. Certainly a drugstore cheapie from the 2000’s. Only thing about this that makes it anything unique, are the Rodman/Electra ads for it, those are cool, and good. This scent, nah. Let the house train leave the station please and thanks. Original impressions: Yeah.... finally got my hands on some of this ‘godly’ juice... hahah. This is like many other frags... Paris Hilton for Men doesn’t cost the hilariously crushing prices people are trying to sell this for. No, just nah, I’m super happy I didn’t spend a small fortune to try this out. Honestly, it’s not like this smells bad, it smells good... and you can find an amplitude of smells just like this... no, the hype is not real... andddddddd performance is pretty shitty lol, Sillage is poor and it becomes a skin scent remarkably fast... I’d like it if it even lasted... but it doesn’t and the price people want for this stuff is troublingly scary... I kind of feel this is a big problem in the frag community in general? This is not at all, and I repeat, worth a months worth of groceries.... this is one of the scents that you could find in grocery stores... not just in the 90’s, this doesn’t smell like the 90’s, smells like something you can find cheaply, right now in soon to be 2019. UPDATE: Yeah... having worn it all day (and had to reapply it to get the smell back to noticeable)... it smells good... not unique... if this wasn't discontinued this would be a scent no one would really care about or be talking about, and would just be around for 20$ at Walmart still. Nice smell, kinda sweet, mostly green I suppose... mostly I would assume dudes here are remembering how awesome it was to have chicks (or dudes, or zigs or zers whatever you want) alllll over them etc etc.... except haha, that was high school... I don't think it was Candie's doing. Final thoughts, smells good, id like to find something that smells like this (I don't think any brands tried to clone what was formally a cheapie) that doesn't cost as much as a couch. PS... longevity is a bit better than I initially gave it credit.... but sillage is TERRIBLE... soo if you want to keep smelling your wrist, its good.

I was under the impression that Candie's, and Lucky Brand were both owned by Liz Claiborne, oh well... I first smelled this scent while hugging a friend in 2002 and just loved it. He and his girl had bought each other the pair for their 1st anniversary, aaaww! This cologne (it says edt but to me it's an edc) blends fruits and flowres into greens then woods and finally musk and sweet dry mossy finish. This sounds very scent by numbers (and 90ish) but it is surprisingly sweet fresh and yet unassuming. I especially enjoy the teaberry like birch that takes you from heart to drydown without the overly stong birch tar note so many scents have that include birch. I pair this with the deodorant (christened UnderArmour)as it adds to the overall aura. As far as the name goes: a.)it is named after a line of shoes put out by the same company and b.)I agree with Chandler Burr that the juice is where the payoff is, the rest is just window dressing. Question: Would you wear it or like it better if it were called "Waterfall for men"? Food for thought... Sillage: could be better Longevity: average Overall: 2.75/5 It is a slice of 90s pop culture but it does have its place now and again...for those who do like it and are looking for it its available for @ 10 USD at Wal-Mart for a 15 ml bottle, I bought 2!

When I first tried this, all I smelled was unscented baby wipes. I tried it a few more times after that and I actually picked up on the grapefruit, watermelon, and basil in the opening with a green, fruity, light woodsy and light musky drydown. It's not as sweet as some reviews say. It's actually quite light and a bit powdery. I think of it along the lines of D&G Light Blue but without the lemon and citrus. Instead, the watermelon replaces the lemon and the only citrus note is the grapefruit. Think of a lightly fruity, green, baby powder wipe or baby powder in general. It's a decent scent but nothing special and definitely not for anyone over the age of 25. Sillage and longevity are excellent as well but the reason I give this a neutral is because it's just the same scent over and over again. So much that it becomes too boring and bland after a few wearings. Trust me, it's nice and safe, but you will get bored of it, and fast!

I remember being around 16 and buying candies at the mall. Other than say CKOne, this fragrance really stood out to me. I’m sure like most people, I was caught up in the marketing, but upon smelling it in a magazine or whatever, I bought it. Fresh watermelon and water notes balanced out by herbs and woods. This fragrance was ahead of its time honestly and it’s a shame it’s discontinued. Granted I’m sure part of what I’m remembering is nostalgia, but nonetheless this is a good fragrance and pretty safe. If you’re a younger man and want to track this down to wear something youthful yet “vintage” this is great. Or buy it and give it to your Dad. He will love it.

It seems like they are making this again... just popped up for sale on fragrancex.

I got this cologne when I was in middle school as well. The sad thing is, even back then I wasn't impressed. I had a big fascination with Adidas Moves then like everyone else I knew, lol. I can't really smell anything but old smelling wood. Not like mildewy or anything, but kind of just damp, aged wood. Nothing even close to exciting here. I guess it would be a good gift for a younger brother as a means to introduce him into fragrances, but it may just turn them away from it altogether.

This not the Candies for Men that dominated the 90's and my junior high-school. This is a cheap knock-off, this is New Diesel and New Razor Ramon the WWF tried to pawn onto everyone following the namesakes bolting to WCW. You may notice the faintest of notes of nostalgia buried under whatever else they've put in here, but if you're a sucker like me and purchased this to relive the greatest decade, you'll be remiss.

I really don't get the hype on this. It's a decent smell, but literally NOTHING special, whatsoever. My wife hates this. She said it smells cheap and generic. To me, this smells like a Kohl's scent (what it is). It's a chemical disaster. I'm not saying it smells bad, but it absolutely smells synthetic and cheap. This is not worth the money people are asking for these days...ridiculous.

I purchased a .5oz bottle of this back in 2005. I still have it to this day which should tell you how I feel about it. This just doesn't do anything for me. It may be a fragrance a teen can pull off. If you're over 21 I would definitely skip this one.

Finally found this and lately trying to prove all I thought of fragrence world true. I knew it was worthy world when at high school age I knew I had to smell like Polo Green And Drakkar Noir daily and would say lot. The fact it said I wear what costs a lot every day and I got that and rep of it I over time didn't think you got better but didn't know what I'm getting now by smelling and wearing the alternatives. Like who knew Azzaro had Por Homme that stood the game. Or Creed had this Green Irish Tweed that if I smelled then I wouldn't see why the price got people wearing. Everyone knew Polo. Doctors wore it and this was one I realized how subjective it was and this when I look back there are several ibcame across over the years that I knew were special but not go deeper as long as I wore those. When o seen Michael Jordans stuff qualified as Preferred Stock and those alwere garbage. This was complex and once I got Burberry Brit home when I went to Macy's to go give others a try. I knew there are just too many. Too much you spray and then spray that so Burberry made me change to new world. Notbsokn after I knew I had to make the best by doing certain things and not doing certain things. Like I knew spray at stores means nothing. Spray at home does most. But I found the consistent houses said the most and the way I backed Burberry and how my view of Burberry was weirdly different. Everyone is giving these average to above. I didnt smell the regualr Burberry after knowing obliged the house. I got hooked on Brit. London I would struggle to see people explain London and knew that was class. So when they released Mr Burberry after Touch showed me that they are more and knew the views of peolle isn't important and knew it says that English class like Brit and I letvMr Burberry sell me on cologne. That was my first buy I waited. I knew then nothing about stages or notes. Just knew Touch floored me and had me almost thinking it was almost Female but I seen the hype, and they nailed it. Class they had and I just knew they sold expensive coats and hadncontempt as no one needs $2200 coat. The bottle daybi bought it, wow. The design made me see there was way more. The top was a button on the expensive coats and the cloth was on the bottle and it was heavy, dark and one spray hooked. Till this day my go to. After I smelled the original I see the class just don't last long. But I have yet to see them make a new one. But I was happy with Weekend and then I started hating citrus opening Versace came second and Eau Fraische was the smell I could have every day. It sold me on the "Blue" that none else were and i ended up seeing first hand ones were just masterpieces. To be just purchased and worn and no one argued that La Male was perfect. Blue De Chanel I had to own. Dulce and Gabbana The One another but those were just hits not consistent from a house I got from Versace. I ended up ping with Pour Homme next and me loving the smell. Once Versace was passed by me and I see year later everyone loving it I see it for it's worth. I see now Versace is house I get anything. Whoever makes the decisions says to have Versace name it gets by me. Done. But Eros seemed to be the one that got me compliments where I thought the ones I like people didn't. Found out later they had a take on Blue, wow. They had Dreamer and knew it was gonna be hard to pin that on . anything. Versace name I buy. Haven't got Blue Jeans but I will and it was weird to see Eros Flame take cause I am sick of citrus and seeing the stuff I am judging on is the light go away stuff and the Eros scent captured me how I hadn't fully appreciated world. That made me hold off on much I wanted as had to not have just the best bottle of every house. Dulce And Gabbana just tried all else after The One and blah. The performance on that wow why couldn't they fix that cause it was an issue cause I like big bottles and not carrying and reapplying all the time. I'm fixed on one application from young. Heard they have the strong one and I'll get. Same with JPG La Male. Lady at register at Macy's knew me and knew to hit me with home sample and one spray of good gets me to buy big bottle immediately. Once i had huge collections and knew what I knew I had to see what I been missing cause I knew Thierry Mugler was good juice and seen it fetched bucks and flankers of Angel men had to be done myself. I see how that has on Fragrantica the bars stuff none do. Seen block of long lasting. Mixed reviews great. Love it hate it. Seen flankers and flankers on most all top 5@'s and top 5s where people pick all time the ones appear that in starting to get now. Prada Luna Rossa kind of died down and seen Amber one and L'homme are expensive and fetch a lot but most everything I see says different in ways I like. Soap , expensive, work. Mass appeal. Yes. Then I see a few more Prada got my eye. Now I think I can just skip Creed. I've had a whiff of their scents a few times and don't know why I spray wear and it doesn't ping outrageous good. The hype is not that. Then I see how to get one I'm gonna like of I spend $400 on a bottle I will but I want to be unique, worth it and want people to know it's just that. The two they have I like but see the openly clone thing and gets me to see a few houses and made me inally see the Mont Blanc company get my all American overall real deal. Any wifff of Individual for $35 made you think that was cheap Creed Original Santal and no one to say otherwise. I see they have lot more cheap scents and they really smell good. Legend got me. Hype for Explorer makes me know my gut sees shit way before all. When I seen that Individual was before Creed and and I wrote them, in the mail they sent me a sad card with a Leather credit card holder that same leader used on Explorer. I look at it, know they sent me a $200 thing cause I wrote them and showed love and said all I had to see but they discontinued it as my claim was the $23 bottle was Santal and everyone had Sauvage and I was struggling with a super masculine, super powerhouse that stopped you and showed I had confidence and had a good pick. I read the hype that it was getting and knew people spin and shit gets spun for different reasons. I just knew after Legend are it a whole bottle empty. Ran out of Individual, not super man. Don't wanna be the guy wearing Adventus but liked the universal vibe. Explorer was being many things and once I tried it I knew I was right on every gut feeling so far. Explorer was all I needed. House I respe t and the Adventus hype it gets I don't. The pineapple usually smelt I don't see in notes and I get clone as many said it's got the Adventus vibe enuff whenbmixed with Clubb De Nuit to fool experts. I seen what they did. So began to take much slow. This was a scent that made me wright that. Thing is to get that nostalgia going good this would get in noses and bring a time back. Same with old scents so when I see the superones I missed out of blindness I wear and I bring that back for those who smell. And scents that I knew would bring things back if they are exact formula, many spend lots making that time come back. I'm to a point where I have to have certain scents that part of me. Ones that are here cause they were there on me during events I want . Polo Red, The One, the first few when my world was opened almost transport me. Burberry Touch blew me away in my wait and prediction that Mr Burberry would be my number one and I knew it would and seen everything say otherwise. I see it as the eau de toilette and see parfum version. Yep. Best ever. I know now I need to see if Tom Ford and Bond Number Nine are worth the price. Also I have to get a few to get my old collection back. Found i knew some reason Creed had Adventus and looked and seen mostly the hype was people keeping it there. But I did notice every article I read by people o thought were helping said Creeds Adventus was worth it. Even at Price and realized I wanted it but knew it had issues and researched Creed and didn't like how they treated me when I talked to them. The I realized those who buy Adventus want to be known for buying it and I seen how easy to fool people and seen out of all other scents many would not be there had not been for hype about two colognes get. I see another top dog that gets respect is Toms Tom Ford, Thierry Mugler, and Bond Number Nine and goal next is get a wearing of Angel Men and every game and all I get is vibe that Tom Ford worth it make sure you get right scent. Next is Bond Number 9. Hard to get past vibe they overcharge but nothing but good and power and last. So tried the site they put to get these. I remember now this would hit me no one is doing watermelon and no one should make profiles as something with many ingredients that's is a true Masterpiece smells almost whole. I been blessed to see true masterpieces I got a good instinct to see what they are by reactions. The fact that Bentely Intense For Men was one I got cheap and knew I would smell niche and had no idea what to expect and after I smelled it I got it. Knew it is out there now, cheap unheard of, a scent that shows you are what you want expressed. When people smell Bentley I love it. A chick who I thought complex said I smelled like a old mad and many here who ask me to get them deals would believe me if I sold them Bentely Intense for $400. That's what you expect for that price and I think I'm in for a treat as I made sure I waited to get me solid few, get couple toward old stash, couple of must bandwagons, and couple gems. Million dollar smell. I found Animale Animale, and seen enuff bickering to know I will get Angelen Give for $20.

Scoff if you will, but I miss this one. It was light, mildly sweet and frankly, delicious on men. Candies took three fragrances that had exploded on the market in the prior year (Obsession for Men, Paco Rabanne Sport and Cool Water) and combined their shared notes in a unique, very marketable, way. The shared notes are the coriander (the leadoff hitter in Obsession, but shared in all three), citrus (biggest in Sport, but in all three) and green notes (dominant in Cool Water, and present in all). There are other shared notes like sandalwood, cedar, and moss, but it's the coriander, citrus, and green that set Candies into its place in the in the fragrance genealogy. Plus Candies had some birch which provided a sweeter note of winter mint. It the sweetness of the birch that gives Candies a youthful emotional tug. Certainly, a younger man could carry Candies off, but it wasn't boyish. Not a flashy scent, but exceptionally well done for it's price point. Still a love and sorely missed.

Candies Men was a sweet and pleasant cologne. I got this when it was released. The cologne was not unique, it was very nice, very young and fruity but somewhat forgettable. I soon moved on into more mature colognes but Candies was always a nice addition for a sunny T-shirt jeans day. Candies was one of the first 6 colognes that started up my collection. I kept it all these years only wearing it a few times per year in the summers. I ended up giving Candies to my nephew who is only 12 and the vibe this scent projects fitted perfectly for a middle school kid who wants to smell good for the girls. He just finished up the bottle today, matter of fact Candies Man had a last performance at his school Fall dance today.

When I was a young lad I used to wear this scent every day, I absolutely loved it. The new version of this cologne is ok... You can smell the spirit of the old formula desperately trying to climb out of the new... When you first spray it on you, it smells absolutely nothing like the old and it is almost like an ambush of fruit but after it settles you will start to detect that old classic familiar Candy's tone. It is such a tease but it'll have to do so yes I will purchase another bottle just for that nostalgic scent. Chasing the Candy's dragon I suppose... I would very much prefer the old formula and would gladly give my first born son and left nut for them to bring it back and restore it to it's original form.

I can attest that the Alexandria Sugar Daddy smells almost exactly like the original version-super close. I just wish it was a little cheaper as most dupes that are high quality sell for like $30-40 and a small bottle of this costs as much as the 3.4 oz versions. It is an extrait parfum though and not EDT or something less concentrated. Same with DUA-Candy. Why the small bottles and its still $40 with shipping? Also Fragrance Revival has a Candies dupe on their website. Bigger bottle for $70 I think. Need a company like Rayhaan or Lataffa or French Ave to dupe Candies so you get the big bottle for cheap hahaha. I have not tried DUA version though and will just stick with Alexandria for now.

This was my favorite cologne to wear back when I was in junior high school and high school. I actually still have a tiny bit of juice left in my old bottle, and sniff it here and there just to remind me of the past. I received so many compliments on how great this stuff smelled. The only cologne I own now that is super cheap and slightly reminds me of what this used to smell like ... is Tommy Bahama Set Sail St. Barts. I know they're not clones, but to me, it does give off the vibe. I can't believe there isn't one company out there that didn't try to come up with something that smells like this within the last 10+ years.

Before Axe and other drugstore body sprays took over the cheap teen fragrance market we had Candies. This brings back the sweet memories of hanging at the mall, trips to the movies, and back seat make outs. Oh what a time lol. It's been quite a while since I've smelled this, and maybe I'm totally wrong, but the DNA to this bears a striking similarity to the much later release Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue Intense Pour Homme. I remember the first time smelling the D&G and trying to rack my brain as to why it smelled so familiar... and it was Candies. If you've got a bottle, hold on to it.

this and coolwater was the bomb back in the day around 1999 it was in magazines & on tv commercials and smelled so so good . the companies big wigs saw a chance to make a dishonest buck and replace the real juice with crap 10-20 years later all the good was removed and whats left of the candies and coolwater was a cheap knockoff that smelled like crap . your better off buying something else trust me full vintage bottles of candies is not worth 300 bucks not even 100 . its weak and was a cheap cologne back in day.

Been wearing this fragrance since high school. Im really sad to see it discontinued. It's hard to find and expensive which is a real bummer because during production it was very affordable. It's very bright and citrusy with woody base notes that really round out the smell. Great for summer and hot weather. Some people think this scent is for younger guys only but I disagree. Not worth the price people Are asking. Great longevity, sillage and Projection! One of my favorites.

This was my first love as a teenager. I used to rock this back in Jr High through High School. It imprinted me in the fragrance world for life. This was a bright sweet fruity fresh fragrance that just smelled like Heaven to me. I was so heart broken when it was discontinued. I've spent the last 25 years trying to find fragrances as close to this one as possible and I can say that Creed Millesime Imperial and Carolina Herrera Chic are the closest you're going to get.

I use to wear this as a teen and I LOVED IT and so did everyone else. I went to just purchase a bottle and remembering back in the day it being like $30 or so and I see $445 on Amazon! I'm thinking okay this must be like a huge stock, like 100 bottles! WTF????!!!! People are selling this for $400+ now? I understand it's not made anymore but this use to be one of the cheaper colognes, they're selling this as if it's the juice dripping off god himself!

I still have half of my 1.7oz bottle of this from probably 2001. Its gone a little sour sadly. So I recently bought a shitload of samples of this online since theyre way cheaper than a bottle. But theyve conpletely reformulated this into straight garbage. Not only does it smell different, but a spray of straight tap water lasts longer than this caca bullshit. Another Claiborne fragrance along with Curve thats been fk'd up and ruined.

this was really good back in the day . smelled it in a magazine and bought a bottle when it first came out . this and coolwater polo sport where the top dogs back then . there crazy for abandoning it probably would of sold a million more bottles by now . it was much more fresher and richer before they reformulated it like what they did too chrome cologne they tore the guts out of it for profit

Just here to remind myself of the good times. 1999. Freshman year of high school. The was part of my four man rotation (this, curve, lucky you, mambo). This was the silent lady killer. Great for the summer but still wore it all the time. I don't care to know what the new release smells like. I'm cool with my memories. Whenever I wore blue, I wore this lol.

Update. Shout out to another Fragrantica username- Cagecam that messaged me and told me about Alexandria Fragrances Sugar Daddy. It smells just like the original Vintage Candies Men and I am so happy that after waiting 25 years I am finally able to smell my beloved Liz Claiborne Candies men with the perfect clone!!!

I got this as a gift during middle school. I guess that's what makes me think of it as a "kiddie" cologne. Very light and refreshing, but I wouldn't go for it today. Plus when somebody asks you what you're wearing, they'll laugh in your face when you tell them "Candie's." Like, who? What? ...exactly.

Whatever happened to this delightful frag? It used to be everywhere in its day, and really cheap. It always elicited compliments when I wore it. Candies was fresh and the fruit notes were crisp and delightful; a sexy little cologne. Too bad it has disappeared.

A chemical spill sort of fragrance that resembles a cross between Windex and cheap hand soap. The only lucid note is the "froot" thing in the top notes, but the harsh sneeze-inducers that follow makes this a no-go for even the most casual user.

can't believe people are selling these for $300+ for a 100ml bottle now! It's absurd and greedy, and the people paying niche prices for such a conventional cologne that smells like countless others are a bit twisted in the head.

Can someone tell me a fragrance that is similar to this, because I know this has been gone for years now and I miss it? I will settle for something real close to it. Please PM me if anyone knows of something. Thanks in advance.

New version starts grapefruit rind for me and drys down too how I remember ck one smelling, but not entirely how the modern ck one smells, if that makes any sense. It’s not unlike Lacoste essential.
