Vanilla Bon-Bon

Vanilla Bon-Bon, the vanilla interpretation of the Candies "fun" series (as I like to call them), is the richest one of them all. Sweet cookie-like vanilla, a little bit of burnt sugar, and a hint of spice make this a very interesting perfume at the initial spray. However, after about 10 minutes, it takes on a cheap, artificial, body spray-like quality. The projection and staying power are poor. It stayed extremely close to skin. People would have to literally put their nose on your neck and inhale deeply to detect it. After about an hour, the scent disappeared completely. I wish it lasted a little longer. I wouldn't mind re-spraying it every couple of hours but it would be ridiculous to do that every 15 minutes or so! For those who are interested in testing, it is currently being sold at Kohl's in the US.

I was given a rollerball of this by a friend recently. New & unopened. It smelled nice from the bottle(roller?), but a bit alcoholy. When i tried applying it i had to use quite a bit of force to get a bit of liquid from the rollerball. I got scraped repeatedly trying to put it on. i loosened it up a bit by rolling it around on some paper (forcefully). When i got some on it was very light, and i could smell the harsh vanilla at first, and bit of burnt sugar. No floral notes in this. It lasted all of 30ish minutes. Not very strong at all. It's an alright perfume. Maybe a good one for perfume beginners (like kids) but be sure to get the spray, the rollerball left marks on my skin from pushing too hard to get it to come out...

Be prepared! In the beginning the alcohol smell is very strong! It does quickly settle down after a minute or two. The vanilla and creme brûlée give it a soft sweet smell. The nutmeg gives it a touch of spice. The floral is soft and pulls the fragrance together. This is not a loud fragrance. It's a skin scent. Don't expect a whole lot from this perfume. It's nice,but nothing to shout about from the roof tops.

So, they sell this at my local Primark (I live in the UK) and the guy I was seeing at Christmas last year spent the £8 it cost to buy this perfume. (I wasn't with him much longer after that, ha-ha!!) Blergh! This is one of the sickliest vanilla scents I have ever tried. It's like artifical vanilla with a ton of plastic and sugar thrown in. I'd reccomend it for little girls. 10 year old me probably would have loved this, but for a grown woman, it's a no-go!
