Squad

A phenomenal frag -- creamy, white floral leather with an unexpected burst of pink pepper! I don't ordinarily go for vanilla or jasmine scents, but I was looking in my boxes of decants for something that would make me feel cozy and warm on a very bleak mid-winter day. I hadn't tried this one yet and Fragrantica's notes seemed promising. I did not anticipate the Squad. Cozy? Check. Warm? Check. But that pink pepper! It's so bold and enduring that it reminds me of Ormonde Jayne's Ta'if, one of my all-time favorites. Pink pepper can dry out a scent, but Squad's almost boozy vanilla note mellows it out just enough. And the leather note is so interesting: at times it seems like a creamy, girlish suede, but at others like the shoe section of a very elegant department store. (Contradictorily, at one point it reminded me of the earthy, sweet barns of my childhood -- I chalked it up to the indoles in the jasmine singing scat.) This is a powerful fragrance, definitely a notice-me one, and it lasted 24 hours on me. Spray lightly. Or don't. Either way, I doubt you'll regret it.

Alright! 18+ hours of the soft suede note I have been craving. Sprinkle high quality jasmine inside a fine leather glove lined with cashmere and you get Squad. Unisex. Plus, I just received 2 compliments during one trip to the grocery store wearing Squad. Sillage moderate. Longevity of course, is excellent. I test my samples blind and I was sure this was from Frederic Malle. Capsule Parfum is based in LA, and imho, this is as good as any fragrance across the pond. Kudos to nose Linda Sivrican . :)

Every so often a fragrance comes along that just checks every box . . .a 10 out of 10. This is that every so often! Scent 10/10, longevity 10/10, projection 10/10, wear ability 10/10, and compliments 10/10. A fine leather fragrance sprinkled with jasmine and vanilla . . .a very light citrus opening. A fragrance that just sparkles and shines in any weather, under any condition. So universally welcoming! Like I said . . .10/10!

Why is it always the perfumes that I love the most which I can hardly describe? This beauty is bold, strong, and everlasting. I feel chic wearing it and I’ve never smelled anything like it. This is truly an any season, any time of day *stunner*. Sticks noticeably to blankets for eternity, just from a little bit rubbing off of your skin. Strangers will ask you what you’re wearing because they'll be able to smell you from a mile away. The accords and notes listed on this page are definitely not exact. Fragrantica doesn't have a 'soju' note category in their system, I suppose. There is also quite a lot of pink pepper. These two things add an incredibly unique aromatic, refreshing, mentholated atmosphere contrasted against the delicious suede. This is absurdly lovely. Soft creamy suede, very well blended. Airy while still feeling complex and full. Lots of nuances without any unbalancing the scent: a little citrus, a little floral, a little spicy, a little sweet. I almost bought it within seconds of applying it, but forced myself to wait only to learn that the meandering journey to the dry down only increased my adoration. These aren't even notes I normally vibe with, this scent is just such a hidden gem.

I have not done this previously, as I'm here to review perfumes. But this is a review for the company, Capsule Parfumerie. Ordering from them has been a major hassle with a complete lack of customer service and support along the way. I placed an order for two bottles of perfume. After 4 days, I still had not received a shipping confirmation. I proactively reached out to the company and was eventually told the items I ordered were no longer available. Why was I only being told this 5 days after placing the order? Moreover, they failed to refund the full amount of my purchase. Instead, they sent me the wrong items. Nothing but excuses from them. I have another Fiele fragrance (another Capsule brand) which I think is quite good, but can't see ever giving them business in the future. Just a mess from start to finish.

Feminine leaning creamy fragrance. Longevity eternal. There is an old rubbery smell to this that is really off-putting
