Latin Lover

Love, all seasons but leaning toward Spring and Summer and maybe into Fall, pure femme, day or night. The resins really help this carry over into a night scent without being so overwhelming that you are out of place during the day. Overall mood: Expensive, modern, complex, young without being juvenile, opulent floral, romantic. It would be a great wedding perfume or signature scent. I think Latin Lover is actually a perfect title for this despite the hate it gets. It is a scent that reminds me of a date-day in Rome. This is exactly what you'd wear in that kind of a setting. It's an incredibly traditional romantic scent. Think of an acoustic guitar and you have how this scent wears throughout the day. Initial: Strong resin/incense notes with a patchouli background. White florals are there but muffled by the overwhelming resins initially present. It smells like a new age store. It also doesn't throw well out the gate. Couldn't even smell it at arm's length. 1 hour in: The scent seems a bit stronger now despite not being worn on the skin. I can actually smell it at arm's length where I couldn't before. Magnolia and violet can be clearly detected; but there are still other white florals happening in the background just more blended together. Getting a smidge more sharpness of the ylang ylang (it's always sharp to my nose and somewhat sour). Everything feels more pronounced but the scent really hasn't changed from the initial much beyond the flowers being more obvious. The scent reads a bit warmer now too than it did. I wouldn't call this soapy or green fresh in the slightest. I think as the resin base develops it's adding more warmth without being spicey. Powdery qualities are slightly less. 2 hours in: Sharpness has died off. It is back to being closer to how it was initially. Powdery, well rounded, very well blended. Resin is still the strongest note with the white florals coming up blended in the background. 3 hours in: Scent is starting to fade. Still hasn't changed much. The resin is slightly less prominent but that could just be the effect of the scent itself fading. The resin is still stronger than the floral. I think I'm finally placing the narcissus too now that everything is fading. It's easier to pick up on the individual notes. 4 hours in: Same as hour 3. No noticeable change. 5 hours in: Mostly same as hours 3 and 4. No scent note changes. Scent is slowly fading. 6 hours in: Scent continuing to fade. But it fades very gracefully. I can still smell it when it's near my nose. Still well blended resin and white, dried florals. It fades in such a beautiful way. Makes you want to listen to soft classical or classical acoustic Spanish guitar. 7 hours in: Continuing to fade. Only at this point has it started to smell a bit soapy. Resins have started to disappear leaving just the soft, dusty, powdery floral with a bit of soap. 8 hours in: Mostly faded. A softy, powdery, floral soap faintly remains. 9 hours in: It's not completely gone even yet. It's still very very faded. Pretty similar to hour 8 but I'm not going to test it beyond this point. I have some spicy red beans and rice waiting to kill my sinuses so I'll have to call it quits. Note: as with all my tests, this was not tested on skin. This was on a test strip that was exposed to air on all sides during the test period. It was kept away from me and revisited on the hour over the testing period.

Juiciest Yellow Floral Fragrance EVER🤤🌼 I would dowse myself this fragrance in the late summer⛱️ When I first took a whiff, I was mesmerized because it feels as if I bit into a fresh persimmon🍊 I wouldn't have described it as latin lover, but I do feel I would dance on the golden beaches of Rio wearing this perfume💃 Sillage is impeccable and it just melds nicely on my skin. I would very much consider this fragrance in my collection of florals since it holds longer than some of my powdery, ozonic, aromatic fragrances. I even love that base note patchouli, which gives this cooling bite into a fragrance that at first starts off warm and luxurious❄️ Almost like being splashed by the ocean water on your new new sun tan🕶 I would say this is for someone who is on their "Eat Pray Love" journey✈️ Zodiac Trio ⬆️Leo☀️Scorpio🌜Sagittarius

This is a beautiful perfume that deserves more attention than it has received. I own a bottle and wear it regularly. It is absolutely not a bright white floral - it's a deep, dark, warm, resinous floral. Every time I look at my bottle of Latin Lover I am startled to see that the perfume is pale yellow, because in my mind this perfume is dark brown. It smells dark brown. It has a dark, warm, resinous tone with a perfectly-pitched sweetness that is like a dab of dark honey. All this gorgeous resinous darkness is lifted by the bergamot and a floral that is mixed but vaguely on the tropical side - though really the six flowers listed in the notes are combined in such a way that no one in particular stands out. The whole composition is just so velvety and seamless. I love it.

This is truly a beautiful fragrance. The magnolia flower is the prevailing note in this lovely fresh floral fragrance. Ylang ylang, bergamot, and violet are gently intermingling in the background. The white musk at the base of this fragrance ensures that the fragrance is not overwhelmingly floral while there is just enough patchouli to add a touch of seduction to this fragrance. This one is a masterfully crafted, intimate fragrance. If I had to find something negative to say about it, it would be that the longevity isn't the greatest. At around hour 3, this becomes a skin scent if only sprayed a moderate amount of times directly on the skin and not on clothing.

My 2. Most favorite from Carner Barcelona with Rima XI being on top. So far Latin Lover is one of the best (yellow) floral scents I have smelled from niche brands. It smells natural, soft, feminine. It reminds me of my honeymoon on Bali. This is not overwhelming, nor headache inducing like a lot of other yellow floral perfumes. I am actually surprised I like this one so much. Nowadays I am bored by florals but this is super lovely. I will test this further but if it performs well I might upgrade to a FB. If Rima XI is your autumn, winter perfume, consider Latin Lover as a great option for a spring, summer perfume.

This fragrance is a beauty. It opens with sweet and sparkling notes of ylang ylang and bergamot, when it settles you get more of the magnolia and narcissus. You might detect a subtle veil of jasmin, but it's hardly any. Same goes for the Lilly of the valley, it's there, but not prominent. When it dries down it turns into a fresh, kind of green, white floral. I find this fragrance very inoffensive and think it would be a great everyday scent. It grows on me, I like it more every time I smell it. Carner Barcelona sure knows how to create lovely fragrances!

This is one of the most beautifully crafted fragrances I’ve ever smelt. It’s equally appropriate for spring and summer due to it’s combination of crisp green florals and balmy ylang and musk. Very cheerful yet poised. The ylang in here reminds me of Parfums de Marly Safanad but the narcissus & magnolia cuts through the creaminess as to not make it overwhelmingly tropical and heavy. Overall this is a perfectly well rounded spring/summer floral.

This is sooooo good!!! I used to own Alien Eau Sublime but there was something in there that slightly bothered me. Enter Latin Lover----this is like a more refined version of Alien Eau Sublime. Solar white florals with the ylang-ylang adding a slight tropical feel. I do understand the comparison to Ellie Saab, they could be distant cousins. This has been added to my "To buy" list!

This was my first more expencive perfume, and I love it! I bought Carner Ibiza nights this summer, and they are a similar type, but Ibiza nights are fresher. Love them both now :)

A heady honeyed floral with some dark background. Magnolias, violets, narcissuses, ylang-ylang are all in the bouquet thrown on satin blanket of patchouli and Siam benzoin.

Opening is to die for but on my skin disappeared within an hour.

Latin Lover is a generic - if pleasant - white floral scent with an initial green undertone and a soft amber drydown. While it is an elegant feminine floral for everyday, it is ultimately quite dull in my opinion, despite its silly (albeit memorable) name. While I am a white floral aficionado, this kind of thing leaves me cold. I enjoy lush tuberose, an edgy take on jasmine or a well-rendered muguet rather than a muted mélange in the manner of this. LL opens with bright, fresh bergamot, giving an initial burst of freshness to the soft, clean white florals that follow. I get soapy jasmine and creamy magnolia up top, followed by a green lily-of-the-valley note. Subtle ylang ylang adds sweet creaminess, but it is very muted here. Green violet follows, adding a leaf-like effect to the florals. As it dries down, sweet, musky amber emerges in the base, complementing the floral heart in a predictable manner. Some patchouli adds earthiness - again, a predictable inclusion. It dries down to a sweet, musky skin scent with clean florals remaining until final fade. Sillage and longevity are moderate. A feminine spring/summer scent, LL is wearable and pleasant, but utterly generic - it feels more like a lazy designer offering than from a niche brand. It's not FBW for me - I much prefer a little artistry and/or risk in my perfumes. Competent, if unexciting. 3/5.

This is a lovely fragrance but if you own Ellie Saab Le Parfum, it's not worth having both especially due to the price point of Latin Lover. I don't see very many differences, the overall scent profile is the same even if I have to agree that this one is more complex and sophisticated. I don't quite get the name, for me it leans mostly feminine, when I read the name I was thinking of something more sensual, fiery, passionate but it's a very well-behaved scent if that makes sense. All the notes in the description are there, as all Carner fragrances it's very well-blended and you can tell it contains quality ingredients. However it is not very unique, nor long lasting. It's good for warm weather when you don't want to leave a trail or suffocate others, good for the office too I would say.

Its a white floral perfume with musk. The different with this perfume is the note of ylang ylang. It smells a liiiiitle bit coconutty because of the ylang ylang (but very sutil). Nothing overpowering or heavy. Its an easy going scent. Its elegant but not for nights out. I can see a bride or a wedding guess using this perfume at a day time wedding. Specially in spring when all the flowers are starting to bloom. Unfortunally this perfume don not last too long. It last like 6 hours on clothes. The projection is between intimate and moderate.

An easy-to-love floral that feels soft, feminine, and effortlessly pleasant. It’s not groundbreaking or particularly memorable, but there’s something undeniably charming about it. A safe, pretty floral with a delicate elegance that makes it very wearable. Considering the price, it’s honestly a lovely find.

Soapy white floural with a touch of sweetness. It reminds me of a luxury soap. The resinous touch in the dry down makes it more interesting. It is very pleasant and lasts long. Good for a day wedding.

I really like the opening of this but it fades into a citrusy floral perfume that just isn’t for me. It’s a pass for me unfortunately UPDATE - I’ve had my sample for 3 months now and retested it. This just goes to show the importance of allowing samples to sit for a while before passing judgement on a scent. So this is actually a really beautiful, clean, fresh smelling floral perfume. To me it smells like you are standing in a garden of soft white florals, it’s summer and there are clean, cotton sheets on a clothes line, swaying in the summer breeze. This really is gorgeous! Had I just gone off my initial impression the first week I got this, it was a pass..... now it’s a love.

I thought it was pretty and very classy. I can see the mood this is supposed to give off. However, my sister told me it smells like a Macy's and now I can't unsmell it. It is an otherwise pleasant yellow floral. Easy on the senses. But I have to agree, unless you actually are on vacation and you are wearing that white dress/jumpsuit and those statement shades and giant hat, this might not be well appreciated.

Upon first application, this fragrance is super green. Almost like smelling realistic magnolia flowers covered in morning dew. The jasmine and the lilies create such a beautiful, delicate powdery musk. This musk makes this floral scent different from others. It grounds the fragrance and adds sensuality. This fragrances takes me to a lush, sunny garden. Perfect for weddings or more formal occasions.

It is a beautiful white floral fragrance, elegant and sophisticated. At the first spray it is a burst of flowers, of joy; but there is something lurking in the background that is killing its beauty...the dreaded patchouli note, giving it a slight whiff of cat pee to the hypnotizing flowers. Such a shame, it would have been such a lovely fragrance without that patchouli note.

Sharp white floral opening, verging on screechy and old-lady at first. I'm usually a fan of white florals but there is something that doesn't sit right with me here, perhaps the lily-of-the-valley. Synthetic, soapy, clean white floral. I don't find the name to be fitting, I would expect some warmth and spice!

I am not in love with this scent yet. I hope that next time I visit Spain I come during the season magnolias are in bloom. I'll dress up all in white and take a 1000 pictures of the flowers and maybe then write a glowing review. So far it's a nice floral but not a show stopper.

A nice floral scent, smells naturally but it's not for me. This is too feminine for my taste and i would probably like it on a woman. It's very versatile with moderate projection. If you love florals you should check this one :)

A pretty, but generic white floral. It's pleasant, but the name is not fitting as I was expecting something more daring. It's more like a british lover - well behaved and kind of boring (not that all british lovers are :) .

Damn damn damn!! I had this sample for months but something said put it on today. Blindly without looking at the notes like a dumb ass. On football Sunday thinking this was masculine boy was I wrong. All these damn flowers with no masculine notes. Thank God it does not project or else everyone would have made fun of me! Nobody voted it masculine including me. Why in the hell is this labeled UNISEX???

Personally not my style. To sharp, too generic, and comes off slightly vintage on me. I love florals so that's not the issue. Idk, it just doesn't fit me like i thought it would, unfortunately.

To my nose this is sour, harsh, screechy and synthetic. I have trouble detecting any individual notes. Definitely test before buying.

Again, this doesn’t smell very much like Le Parfum to me, but I understand the reference more so here. This is a slightly sweet woody floral. It smells familiar so it doesn’t wow me yet. But this is a very well blended perfume. I love this house’s DNA. There’s a soft lactonic, waxy, powderiness that is not found in Le Parfum or most other florals. & I crave it. This is classy & pretty. Not as sexy or daring as I hoped as some have said below. It’s no doubt very pretty, safe, feminine but not quite as overtly girly, leans unisex. And lately, I’m really liking that bc it’s a little more fresh and mysterious. This veers slightly into gourmand ... This is my first test, but so far not wowing me. Smells PINK, girly, almost fruity due to sweetness. That’s not my style. Reminds me of other perfumes smelled before, YSL, Burberry ... reminds me too much of some I didn’t like on me. I prefer Danzatoria so far out of my samples. But again, love the DNA here with that waxy, powdery, slightly lactonic dry down. Update: Second test was a scrubber, so sweet & perfume-y, I still can’t get it off my arm, very heavy, quite mature. I didn’t get much citrus on me. My skin picked up that narcissus a lot, which made it smell more old fashioned, dusty, reminds me a bit of my late grandma & not in a good way. Sillage monster on me. I can’t get this off yet. After scrubbing smells like old church ladies still. No offense to old church ladies.

Sampling Latin Lover today 4th Sep 20. First three notes which I detect immediately after application are citrus, white heady florals, musk. Then I am beginning to recognize the narcissus (new note in fragrances for me to explore and it is wonderful, indeed), then I recognize the Lilly of the valley, wonderful too, the base has a very delicate and beautifully blended benzoin, the only thing I can't detect is in fact Patchouli note, no wait, actually I just got it, but it is blended in very refined way, so wasn't able initially to get it. Right, I like very much this fragrance, and I would recommend it for friends definitely, I possibly will not get a FB bottle only because I recognize the same dry down style as in Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche (I do not compare the two, only give an example) which I used to wear a lot, I mean a lot in the past, that I think I had enough of this particular style, otherwise Latin lover has a superb quality, not to mention the cool name behind it:-) p.s. Wait, well April 8th 21 and I am considering a FB purchase of this :-)

Opens with pure alcohol. Very sweet florals. Smells like something you'd inhale in a tiled courtyard on a white-hot day. Woman at a beachside resort, giant sunhat and dressed all in white. The alcohol fades into a softer floral, something woody coming through. Mature. Tropical. Honey. Settles into something darker, more expensive, white florals on a stained teak dresser overlooking the aqua infinity pool. Much older than I prefer to wear, but with the right setting and person, it would be stunning.

The narcissus and lily of the valley notes gave me pause because I was anticipating something harsh but this is anything but. I'm looking through the notes confused because when I smell this it smells fruity and tropical. Maybe the ylang ylang is acting a little fruity? Regardles it's a beautiful sweet floral for floral fans. There is a little greenness but it's not overwhelming the fragrance. Overall very beautiful and smooth. If you like florals, I think you will love it.

This one smelled so strong and horrendous when I first got it. Then I let it sit for about 2 years and now it smells divine. Even the color of the juice changed and it became thicker and more syrupy. If you have this and hate it, let it sit for about 2 years and then reach for it again. The white florals in this one really macarate after about 2 years and this becomes a juicy and a beautiful white floral scent.

Well... do Latin lovers smell like this! it's overly white floral! magnolia, & lily of the valley are the dominants in here. Besides, it has lime, benzoin, violets, musk, and ylang. I can't detect the jasmines, narcissus, or patchouli. I have sniffer this fragrance somewhere before, and i think it's fair but not what it meant to be (Latin Lover).

Severely misnamed, "LL" is as well crafted as it is unremarkable. It is a prototypical white floral in the same tradition as most things my grandma likely owned from the women's fragrances counter at JC Penney circa 1980-1995. Although, to its credit, more masterfully executed.

Meh. It's pleasant enough. Would definitely classify this as feminine (even though I believe they classify it as unisex) but it's nothing revolutionary. You could go down to your local drug store and pick up a similar smelling floral fragrance for less than half the price.

Blind bought a full bottle of this on a recent sale and this is just stunning. It’s giving a less formal, more peppy Rouge Malachite feel... if Rouge Malachite is what you would wear on a fancy night out this is what you would wear to a bougie brunch. Love!

I have to agree with koburi. On my skin, I'm getting a sweet, resinous scent that doesn't present as particularly floral, at all. While the initial spray is quite floral, this dries down to a sweet, resinous fragrance on me.

Very floral. If you enjoy floral(white flowers) scents, this is one of the better, younger and more modern takes imo. Smells like a "lady".
