Tennis Club

Wow! It's amazing! I love it! I love everything about it - the name, the cute bright green bottle, the fresh citrus-marine happy scent. It's definitely not a generic citrus scent but it starts with a blast of bergamot and some blood orange. It's really fresh suitable for the hot summer days on the tennis court or after a tennis practice after shower while I'm relaxing, chatting with friends and drinking glass of Aperol Spritz. The name is perfect for this perfume. The freshness and the slight sweetness are coming maybe from the petitgrain and neroli. Some flowers to the original citrus picture make it even more attractive. I didn't expect to catch the marine and solar notes but they are here. The marine notes stay almost till the end. It's not a beach scent though. It's more forest-grassy happy green one. The solar notes pop up in the base mixed with some musk. Silage is moderate, longevity is about 4-5 hours on my skin which is more than okay for a fresh summer scent. I can't wait to try the other 2 from this collection - Super Moon and Sal Y Limon.

Personally, I am not necessarily impressed by Carner's perfumes. The fragrances are generally fun and easy to wear. But I don't remember any smell. That is no different with this fragrance. It is clean, citrus and fresh white flowers. Something we have already seen with many other brands. But still, there is something about this perfume that makes me love it. It has something nostalgic about my childhood. But certainly not old-fashioned. It takes me back to when I was a little boy. Together with my mother on the bike, on the way to the beach. I smell Nivea sunscreen, hear the gulls screaming and feel the sea breeze on my skin. Such a nice and loving feeling. For me it has nothing to do with tennis. But a perfume that is worth a lot to me.

This is, hands down, the most perfect summer scent. Just like others who smell sunshine, sea breeze, sunscreen, and grass/trees in the summer heat, I too recognize those scents. I love neroli fragrances, but the purpose of this scent isn't to showcase that note, IMO. While it comes to the foreground, along with some woodiness, in the dry down, this fragrance does a good job retaining its solar and salt water notes after the blast of both when first sprayed. The sun-warmed greenness balances the neroli/wood aspects, so it never becomes heavy or overly floral. This kind of balance is why I own an embarrassingly high number of bottles from Carner. I'm not a fan of every scent, but when they hit a home run, it leaves the park.

My first impression of Tennis Club is that it is a cross between Carner Barcelona Bo-Bo and Replica Beach. Due to the salty, sun tan associations, it's for warm weather only. Unlike Replica Beach, this one has no coconut, but my nose senses it by association. I enjoy it and will happily use up my sample. However, since I have a 50ml bottle of Bo-Bo, I will not buy a whole bottle of Tennis Club. Both open with similar citrus notes. In the dry down, I get pleasant whiffs of cedar. This scent was excellent to wear today. 12/29/23 Update: I will buy a bottle of Tennis Club for 2024. I cannot wait to add this fresh scent to my collection.

I fell in love with this one right away. The notes are what I consider to be the absolute perfect combination for my preference, and there's no way to go wrong with this one. I love neroli and citruses, and when mixed with the aquatic and solar elements they create this bright and uplifting, almost nostalgic for a mediterranean summer vacation decades ago feel. It's breezy and quite simple, reminds me a little bit of Neroli Portofino with less sharp citruses and that dominent sea air smell that NP doesn't have.

It opens in a fresh 4711 way and quickly settles down in what is to me A Perfect Summer Scent. Sunshine, citruses, neroli, a hint of sunscreen in the background and soft, green grass that's still a little dewy. This smells like the morning before your favourite summer party. Buzz, anticipation, quiet before the crowd. The musk underneath is of the most beautiful summery sea breezy kind, which reminds me a bit of the dry down of Heeley's Sel Marin and Note de Yuzu. Wide open, laid back and beautiful!

Classic cologne style with a slight bit of florals! LOVE IT! Let's hope it lasts more than ten minutes... After the 4711 opening I'm reminded of a few other juices I have that I can compare it to. The main one being Polo Earth, almost 1:1. Then Acqua Neroli by Clean. Also Bvlgari Man Wood Neroli and Banana Republic Neroli Woods. Although it would be redundant in my collection, I might have to pick it up just for the beautiful green bottle.

Beautiful stuff! To me, this is a mix of TF NP + Mugler Cologne on steroids! Unisex (maybe leaning a touch feminine due to the florals), fresh, green citrus-floral scent with excellent longevity (considering the scent type and profile). Posh and expensive smelling, easy to wear spring/summer dumb reach. Sharp presentation too. Overall, very happy with my purchase and will re-purchase when runs out!

Sometimes this hobby leaves you feeling duped. Perhaps punishment for all my clone purchases though the years. This is in line with the bright, neroli, citrus and floral type scents that are pretty much a dime a dozen. I even feel a little CK One with this, only much less scratchy and musky. This is really well crafted, and blended beautifully. I really enjoy the scent but it feels a bit generic and pricey for what you get. Performance seems solid enough, which is a plus, but I think you can get other scents in this ballpark at a much better price...It is damn nice though. Maybe try John Varvatos Artisan Pure, or 4711 for a Neroli hit. Mediterranean Freshie all the way, don’t they frequently have clay tennis courts?

There is something about Tennis Club I really like. Smelling this scent makes me picture memories in spring or adventures on a searing hot summer day. The citrus is very strong and the opening smells like synthetic detergent. I would also say it smells very strongly of synthetic grass. This is a type of fragrance I could buy and use on a long vacation in hot weather.

Pleasant but sadly fleeting. Nothing tennis adjacent, simply a perfectly concocted summer green fragrance. Grassy, citrus, fresh air. Beautiful crisp neroli. Not every fragrance needs to be long lasting, but I would appreciate this simple green sunshine to stay for a little longer. Didn't get any wood ;(

A bitter orange / neroli fragrance, nothing surprising or exceptional. Evokes feeling of crunchy dewy grass stems without being grassy. Masculine leaning.

Love it! It has a strong bitter green opening that feels very masculine and barbershop-y. Within 30 mins it dries down to a smoother green scent with powdery and sweet notes coming through. It feels clean, zesty, powdery, slightly floral, and reminds me of Irish Spring Soap. I would prefer this on a man, but I could also see an athletic woman pulling this off. It definitely gives the country-club golf and tennis vibes it’s aiming for. Only negatives are I dislike the bottle, and the scent only lasts 2-3 hours.

Neroli and orange blossom to the max. Grass stained tennis skirt. New tennis balls. Sunblock and a large blue pool nearby.

This smells like summertime. Sunscreen, grass, and lemon deodorant!
