212 Surf for Him

Tbh i actually like this, im not a fan of any of the 212 range except 212VIP, so i wasn't expecting too much when i tried this but it really surprised me, its actually a scent that doesn't smell like the usual "summer" Guff manufactures put out, it takes that idea out of the box and brings something different to the table. now with that said its by no means a must have, but compared to the other summer scents out there this is definitely a contender along with JPGs Le Male Summer!

got to re try this one today, as the summer frags are coming back on the shelfs. last year i really liked this one, but was more inclined to buy the issey miyake 2014 summer edition. anyways, tried it again today, smells like issey miyake nuit, which i'm not a fan of, only about an hour afterwards it begins to smell really nice when the sea notes start to appear. ill probably buy this one this year, for my 'summer' edition bottle.

Ehhhh Probably my least favorite out of my entire collection. Such high hopes but it's only ok. Smells terrible going on but smooths out and its only ok after a few hours on the skin. Nothing special. I have alot of other summer scents i like alot better and this is the most expensive one i own.

I agree opening is strong and settles down a bit after 15 minutes. I detect strange smell in the background, someone wrote it's egg, something on trace of that. Drydown is actually ok. I would use it in non-formal summer activities. I think it can pass for unisex.

This imo is strictly a summer beach vacation scent, it is not the best out there for sure, but after the obnoxious opening to me its pretty good and has amazing performance.

Wow! Let me just start by saying I was not attracted to try any other summer 2014 fragrance except this one. Carolina Herrera generally has a good repertoire of masculine fragrances and this one looked good. The reason it looked so good and I was so drawn to it? The bottle! I mean just look at it...what a fantastic bottle it looks amazing, and even better in real Life. That's where the praise for this fragrance ends... abruptly! The juice inside is nothing short of disgusting...an absolute disgrace! Like they took that synthetic aquatic element found in many new releases such as Eros and more famously perhaps Paco's Invictus and brought that to the forefront. At least those two counterparts have some redeeming features in the shape of vaguely pleasant surrounding notes, 212 Surf sadly doesn't. I'm not exaggerating here it is really awful, sharp, cheap, so far from anything natural smelling it beggars belief! It's like the worst hairspray mixed with ammonia and bug spray! There's an ant and wasp killer product (in the UK and possibly elsewhere??) called 'Deathlac' this smells like that. Another question....Why do fragrances that have this bad smell to them also have such amazing longevity? 212 Surf has ridiculous strength and longevity while being totally devoid of quality. The same is true of Invictus which I honestly liked at first but this 'deathlac' thing just became unbearable as I wore it more. Folks if you trust my reviews by now...swerve this one!

Let me just say that this flanker is so much better than last year's one! But, this does not make it a good scent! However it is nice, fresh and summery but feels generic, deja vu and boring... Nothing special, but nevertheless, a nice everyday fragrance for those who like them that way! But I really have to say, that there are lots of similar scents out there in the market, any aqua deodorant smells the same and even some sporty colognes like Adidas ice dive gives the same feeling for the fraction of the price! Really not worth the purchase at all! Edit: After some testings, I found out that it lasts a very long time... It is really long lasting so maybe it is worth the price after all!! (+12 hours)!!

WOW this redefines synthetic!! I smelled this in a perfumania store because I think CH men and 212 men are both great frags. This however, is horribly synthetic! I get a blast of generic blah blah citrus like every other mall frag out there followed by a headache inducing synthetic marine notes that smells like cheap vodka at a frat party!! If there is patchouli in this it sure doesn't smell authentic to me! STAY away from this....just walk away! Big pass from me

I personally do not like this scent, i do have 2 bottles of it ( bought it by mistake ). It terms of projection, i think it is really heavy, so is the longevity. My advice, first time you wear it, start with not more than 3 sprays and then adjust accordingly. i really wish it was more than 212 Glam Men (2012).

Terrible fragrance, IMO. First of all: it doesn't even remind you of the original 212 Men. Nothing alike. I wish somebody had written this in their review before I bought it LOL. It smells really synthetic and woody (and this is coming from myself, who usually don't complain about synthetic smells) with some okay marine notes. It smells really sharp and made my stomach turn. Houdini4's description of a "hair spray with ammonia" smell was really close to the real thing. Although this is a summer fragrance, it's too strong and woody to wear in the heat! Projection is a bomb, but it dies down pretty quickly. I wish that Carolina Herrera would bring back "212 Pop" and "212 On Ice" next summer instead of the latest editions "212 Summer" and "212 Surf" which were really disgusting. When I want a summer edition of 212 Men, I want it to have the same smell of the original with a little summery twist, not this completely unrelated mess.

Okay, quick capsule review: I was worried at first that this would be another citrus overload that screamed 'summer marketing only'. However, the marine note and patchouli combat the acidity of any citrus notes very well and this develops as, what should stand as a strong enough line to be continued by Carolina Herrera in its' own right. I recognise the slightly salty tang of the marine note and it's far more like the feeling of a refreshing, invigorating, macro-mineral loaded and oxygenated wave breaking over your head as you duck-dive under it, than simply frolicking around on the beach half-heartedly as the imagery suggests... I have already had a lot of compliments whilst wearing this fragrance from women who have said it is certainly noticeable in comparison to the other currently circulating (lemon) summer lines. This fragrance is more manly than it initially suggests due to the 'elemental' synthetic note that woks so well for either needing a 'metallic' or 'salty-sweet(fresh sweat)' bitterness that cannot be otherwise achieved with natural sources and I am personally glad that there is not a reliance on the spicier 'glacial-fresh' peppery notes that the summer masculine 212 fragrances have been known for. I must point out that I wasn't expecting much from this, and certainly not with it having a 'surf' tag which I found in danger of being a bit patronising. But... The smell of 212SURF is like the taste on my lips after an invigorating and exhausting session in the water. I hate to wash that taste away as it holds the memory of my enjoyment. Having received this as a freebie, I would gladly pay for it before it disappears and would like to keep this alongside 212VIP MEN in my stable. "One last wave... the Sun is still above the horizon..."

I'll be a dissenting voice here and go on record by saying I really like this. That said, the opening is almost overwhelming. Give it time and go easy on the trigger. I sampled this several times over the last few years and only recently wore long enough to get past the nuclear first few minutes. It settles down after about 5 or 10 minutes at which point you can start to detect traces of the 212 DNA. The marine & slightly salty accord is actually very well done. Projection and longevity are light years beyond the original 212. A little bit of this stuff goes a long way, whereas with the original seems to disappear after 30 minutes. If you're looking for something just a little bit different for your next summer scent, this is worth considering. I live in Arizona, so this is pretty much a year-round sent for me. Similar to the previous year's 212 Summer 2013, but this one has a slightly creamy layer of coconut and suntan oil. Obviously discontinued as it was a limited edition, but if you shop around online you can still get a pretty good deal on it.

This fragrance last a long time on my skin , 8h decent , sillage is good too 3-4h is heavy , the other hours is decent. I put this on my skin and then i took a shower and still can smell the fragrenc ( i took the shower after 3h ) The smell is great if your looking for a marine fragrance , is a salty marine-citrus fragrance , a little bit too salty and to rough. On my skin works so great , more powerfull then bvlgari aqua , but the scent is not so plesent like bvlgari , still a good fragrance , it remind me of str8 marine fragrance. Scent - 7 ( is rough and salty , but is pleasent ) Lasting - 8.5 ( im happy with that , it last about 8h , perfect for a summer fragrance ) Sillage - 8 ( its heavy for first 3h , then is a moderate fragrance , people can smell you ,3 sprays is enough ) Versatility 5-6 ( definitely a summer fragrance , i think is a little heavy for super hot wether , but i can be wrong , it instantly remeind you of sea ) Overall 7/10 , you shoul give it a try if you like marine-salty fragrances TRY

I have very mixed feelings about this smell. This is a fruity playful version of the classic marine male scents. On the one hand I liked it because it smells "fun and tasty and summery". On the other hand, the price tag suggests a more complex smell, and promises some interesting notes. Overall, i think that this is an average floral-fruity equivalent for men..Like one of those yearly Escada editions women have. ..To conclude - I would not get this for my boyfriend.

I love 212 men HC better than this HC S4H. S4H make me got headace, actually i am living @ tropical island where the shunshine shine everyday and the sea waving all times, but i dont get the smell of "beach or sea". I really fell dizzyness.... oh god. I could throw away this perfume to the trash.

I don't like at all this fragrance. Got this as a gift. Is it just on my skin or this smells like... egg? I get something like a mixed covered egg smell from this and I dislike it so much. I think there is no point to talk about longevity or projection. I don't recommend it at all. Huge dislike.

I am a fan of CH 212, I definitely need to try this one. So far CH 212 and 212 VIP have met my expectations, I hope 212 Surf does it too.

To all reviews where are y'all smelling this scent? I have yet to find it in any dept stores or perfume stands....

This smells cheap and very artificial. I could expect more from CH. Never will by again.
