My dad works on cruise liners around The Netherlands and bought me a bottle of this when he away. He has a very good nose for perfume and has actually recommended a lot of my perfume collection over the years. He wanted to find a perfume for me so he and a bunch of his workmates all went down to the store on the ship and sprayed each other with different scents. As they were walking around the ship later that day, one scent in particular caught my dad's attention, which was 212 Carolina Herrera. He bought it for me and here is my breakdown of what it smells like on me: Opening- Fresh, soapy floral base with green and a very subtle citrus layering overtop to give a bit of bite. (15-20 mins). Middle- Green floral, strong rose and white camilla gives way to white flower and freesia. Cactus prominent. Musk begins to creep in subtly underneath the soap. (30-40 mins). Base- Soapy, musky white flower. Clean and crisp. Most of the green has gone, some floral still detected though not as prominently. Scent cloud= 1 1/2-2 hours (soft) Total wear time= 6-7 hours (long-lasting). I'm a fan of stronger scents so i'd never had anything this light or clean before but i've quickly grown used to it and now it's my go-to spring scent. Having said that, i totally understand why many people on here have said that they like it, but they don't love it. It can be a bit too soapy on some people and it's not very strong. After about 2 hours you have to get in really close to smell it anymore, but it actually lingers quite a long time on my skin. I was surprised that i could still smell it faintly by the evening if i sniffed my wrist. But the imagery of three working-class white-van-men spraying each other in women's perfume is too funny not to love!

212, I love thee, let me count the ways...I have owned this perfume for a few years, and I always go back to it once I've worn different perfumes. To me, I wear this scent best in the fall and winter. It's starting to get colder, so I've gotten my sweaters out, and started wearing 212 again starting this past Monday. Today is Saturday and EVERY DAY since I started wearing 212, I've gotten compliments from men and women on how good I smell. I usually wear Wind Song during the fall also, but I never get compliments on how I smell, not like when I wear 212. On me it's a very white floral with musky-powdery undertones which I absolutely ADORE! It reminds me of smelling like you just took a lovely shower; I mean, how sexy is it to smell out-of-the-shower fresh? I have always loved how the bottle is made: a cylinder with two separate perfume bottles on either side that connect into it. It's very convenient because I can put one ball in my purse, and the other is left on my vanity, so you save money on having to buy a smaller perfume bottle for travel! I've read a few reviews on here stating that this perfume isn't suited for someone over 25, but I'm 28 and I wear this well, just as anyone would, regardless of age. I'm actually almost out so I need another bottle...I'm gonna have to ask my hubby for one (or 5 :P)! Please, please don't discontinue or reformulate this perfume, Mrs. Herrera, you've definitely got a winner here, my dear!

@Madame Veillette Awww that’s very kind of you 🤍 Girl absolutely this is a hidden gem in 2025 now It does smell ultra unique to me like nothing else and i think it s a little complicated florals combo because the lily here is pretty peppery and the freesia is also freshly spiced with the best combo in florals world jasmine+gardenia that combo what makes it really special and spectacular lily freesia scent with the late 90’s metallic powdery clean laundry like white musk which I absolutely adore and that supperr fresh opening which a lot of people think that it smells synthetic... i don’t? Although i found it a little bit complicated bcus it took me a WHILLLEEEEE to figure out which kind of gem i was throwing in my closet for months U need to give this scents maaannnyyy chances until u feel like ur getting into something It does smell basic, boring and shampoo-like to a lot of people but me ! U need to be such a huge fan of florals especially the fresh and spicy ones such as lily freesia stephanotis some type or sharp roses to fully appreciate this beauty The mix of spicy florals+creamy florals does really need a floral lover and deeply experienced master perfumer The first uses u wouldn’t be as interested but if u got used to it and u are a truly floral lover ur gonna get into something special with it Have a great experience 🤍

When I was younger my mum was bought this as a gift, I remember I really liked how it smelt, in comparison to Chanel No5 and Calvin obsession that I couldn’t stand. Fast forward to now, and I’m in my late 20’s and a mum. I’m so pleased I bought this, really affordable as well 30ml (tend to buy smaller so I can use them up before going off) for £19 (Boxing Day sales) I think this is a beautiful perfume. The fact it is very different to the usual fragrances a lot of women my age wear as well makes it more appealing. This is perfect.. just out of the shower perfume, a very clean fresh citrus and floral fragrance. This has a beautiful powdery and musky dry down that also softens and becomes very inviting. Some citrus fragrances can be quite cold and sharp, less inviting but this has a lovely base and I think because of this, you could possibly get away with wearing this as a everyday fragrance/signature even in the colder months. This is a safe blind buy if you like fresh citrus and floral fragrances that dry down softly. It lasts quite well on the skin, I would say still picking it up 6 hours later without shoving my wrist to my nose. I think the lasting time on clothes would be 10+ hours. I’ve ordered 212 sexy, let’s see if it is just as impressive. 😄

Today i get a different feeling abt it the first time i just opened the box i was hit with a peppery lily which im not a fan of in a lot of other fragrances like bamboo gucci and baiser volé that spicy lily Although 212 takes it in a different way Not noa Cacharel or twin azzaro or any of the narciso modern boring musks has this specific type of white musk not even one of my favorites pure poison has this exact type of white musks The lily here isn’t as spicy still peppery but more like a pure clean freshness of the peppery lily this fragrance without the lily isn’t 212 anymore it’s something closer to pp dior or boss femme So even if I don’t like the lily on its own... its just magical here with the other flowers making it the purest essence of white musk floral freshness I really wanna be a perfumer to make fragrances that smells magical like this one As a male i adore flowers more than anything and if I learned perfumery ? Ain’t nobody can beat my floral fragrances because this is what im gonna focus on more I know perfumery doesn’t work that way but im just trying to describe how much i like florals Mr Morillas I adore your creations

A while back, maybe around two years ago, I'd splurged and spent about $150 on a big box of all kinds of samples, and I'd included this one. LOVED IT. After my sample ran out, I wanted a full bottle but I kept talking myself out of it because at $85 it was pretty expensive at my salary! She would have to wait... Fast-forward to now, having more experience with fragrances, I realize that price is really quite affordable. I've paid more than that for most of the bottles in my modest collection. I also now prefer the mid-sized bottles so they don't sit around too long and possibly go bad. Unless it's Chanel. Lol! I went ahead and bought the 50 ml for just over $40 and I'm so happy I did! 😊 I have been searching all summer for a fresh-floral scent, I'd forgotten just how perfect this is?! The cactus flower and light musk are beautiful on skin. Mmmm... This scent is lovely! If you want to smell fresh, clean and unique, this is it. Safe blind buy, good longevity for an EDT, maybe 4 hrs? Smells really good on clothes, too. I just love it. Great in the heat and also really nice in the cold, brings out a sort of crisp floral aspect.

Love this fragrance. My sister runs an overstock cosmetics business and left this "2 pack" style bottle behind many years ago. I actually didn't realize it was a womens' fragrance initially until moving to buy a new bottle lol. This reminds me of a beach shower, perhaps what I smelled when washing off the sand at Myrtle Beach, very fresh clean scent. Although this is an extremely rare grab for men, I've made it work alongside 212 for men over many years, received plenty of compliments from women on summer days so it can certainly go unisex if you've got the confidence for it. This and YSL Black Opium are my two favorite womens' fragrances at the moment. My girlfriend is in China right now and swears by her new Givenchy Coeur Fou over these so this ranking may change when she returns. edit: Givenchy Coeur Fou smells very nice but I still like this better. A sleeper pick was actually Angel EDT (2019), I bought Angel EDT for my girlfriend and holy hell it awesome to my nose. Although I wish Angel EDT was stronger, i'd rank it above 212 and below Black Opium.

I just got another backup cus im hella ain’t ready to lose this Life basics to me On my skin The top notes citrusy but way more floral than citrusy and also green and watery from the cactus note i really love cactus and aloe vera scents with the lily and its absolutely prominent in the opening After smthng like 8 minutes the freesia appears strongly and beautifully while the lily spiciness tones down I start to get jasmine gardenia and peony here when the fragrance turns colder just like smelling frozen freesia petals the freesia here smells just like the forever and eevr dior freesia note they are identical both of them are cold icy softly metallic flowery and perfectly fresh spiced After like 2 hours the freesia tones down and now i start to get the sandalwood noticeably while the musk is way stronger and the only noticeable flowers is freesia&jasmine and it stays like that until it fades from the skin after like 4 hours and the same process on clothes but slower bcus it lasts 2 days on my shirt

I want to talk abt smthng im confused about in this scent Why im getting a loooot of linen and silk accords ? This is not just white florals and white musks with some citruses and wood no no no im getting way more than that my nose is saying that Mr morillas filled this scent with secret clean accords because what the heck is that noticeable silk and linen im getting from this and like a real silk not musk rhat smell like silk im getting silk accord !! I wanna be a perfumer to understand how does this masterpiece is working that way Guys the lasting pooowerrrr !!!!! The lasting power is days and days on my shirt even after washing my god those who voted for less than eternal or long lasting are definitely joking This fragrance suits me in an incredible way not light as water not strong as elixir i was definitely shocked that this fragrance is a EDT ! So edt concentration floral musky AND LASTS NOT LESS THAN 3 DAYS ON MY SHIRT WTF??

This is soap and water freshness in a bottle, 212 is clean, cool and somewhat metallic, for that reason, I love it. Its not an overly popular scent, you will not smell this on anyone else on the street, its fresh and cool, its soapy but not "soapy", its crisp, modern, vibrant and bright. 212 opens with a crisp, green aqueous note, from the cactus flower and bergamot, followed closely by the lily , Muget and musk, after 4 hours some sandalwood emerges and rounds it all off, but for the most, its a cool, slightly aquatic, crispy floral that makes you feel and smell freshly showered all day. Silage is moderate and longevity is great, I can get a full days wear from it (8am to 5pm), its a great scent for times when you want to smell fresh but not "perfumey", it smells fantastic year round but it really shines during the summer, its never cloying or suffocating at all. Future repurchase and the bottle is pretty cool too

The first 30 seconds were horrible, then rewarding beauty. I guess it is the freesia+lily of the valley+ rose combo that makes me think of Happy and Tori Burch. I am not a big fan of either of those, even though I get compliments when wearing. This one, I like so much more. I find the other two cloying or something that is a bit too heavy for me personally, but it was like 212 was cut with Penhaligon Juniper Sling which gives it that crispness. Also, seems to be balanced with cactus paddle (rather than cactus flower) cactus juice and all. This is exactly what it needed to make it uniquely mature and slightly different than other nearby fragrances without attention craving vibes. Doesn't smell like Dove soap to me. Definitely adding this to the day time, summer and spring, flex scent rotation especially since cheap full bottles seem easy to come buy.

This just ticks all the boxes for me. I love citrussy florals with a musky base and have spent a lot of years searching for the perfect one which has no deal-breaking notes. I have a tiny sample of 212 my mum gave me years ago, and I eventually realised I had my perfect perfume all along. It may not be especially distinctive to most people, but on my skin it just develops into a full-bodied amazingly sensual scent I can only describe as *warm* musk. It reminds me of my mum... we must have the same skin chemistry. I bought a bottle recently, sprayed and inhaled deeply waiting for it to hit the spot... but I wonder if it has been reformulated as it seems to lack the depth of my little splash bottle sample. Maybe it'll improve with age. Maybe aerosolization itself changes the way the scent develops on the skin?

This is a very interesting perfume. This is literally the smell of a woman who just showered with soap(in a good way). Literally fresh out of the shower. Nothing else( perfume, moisturizer. nothing). This surely tricks people to think you just shower. Don't worry about over spraying, it doesn't have much silage but it is felt by others. This perfume is my crave for hot days. I imagine representing better for 20-40yo woman. I love these kind of perfumes, I also have Jlo Glow. The difference is 212 is "cleaner", Glow has a little bit of "skin" scent. Replica Bubble Bath. I love it so much and it does smells like a clean person overall(person and the clothes) with power sillage, but 212 smells more realistic like showered person (soaped skin).

212 is clean, fresh, feminine and sexy. This is the perfume I go back to every summer and would wear this for any occasion, daytime or evening, or simply for everyday wear. There's something absolutely beautiful and unique about this perfume, as I don't usually go for fresh or citrusy scents, but this really is different from the rest as far as I'm concerned. The only trouble with 212 is that the lasting power is virtually non-existent on me and I have to layer it with the matching body lotion in order to make it last longer. This is by far my favourite perfume from Carolina Herrera and in my opinion, better than any of the 212 flankers that followed. This is also to my nose much sexier than 212 Sexy, which seems ironic...

The original 212 (1997) already featured a remarkably modern clean musk character years before Narciso Rodriguez For Her EDT (2003) For Her pushes that idea further with a much more musk-centered profile wrapped in warm amber and cashmeran while 212 keeps the musk woven into an incredibly intricate bouquet of airy, angelic florals Both has the exact same layered musks feel To this day, I think 212’s clean floral-musky composition is one of the most sophisticated designer constructions ever made and deserves far more attention. Pure Musc EDP refined the clean musk idea beautifully, but 212 still possesses a breathtaking floral aura that feels almost impossible to recreate

I was walking behind this woman and she smelled fantastic. Like, cozy and fresh all at once. I asked her what she was wearing, and it was this. The funny thing is that I actually own this fragrance lol. But man smelling it on someone else... I hope I smell like that when I wear it. I don't like the bottle with the 2 compartments. But I love this scent and it lasts a decent amount of time. It's floral but yet very clean. But not sterile clean. I don't get any pepper, personally. This feels timeless. I probably have left a review on this before, but this woman made me want to revisit this. When I get home, I'm spraying this!

I kind of dislike the bottle, but this is so beautiful it caught me off guard. I got it in a swap and was initially disappointed because it totally isn't my style, but the scent kept drawing me back. It is floral, watery but strong and projects well, so clean and pure without annoying sweetness. This is a clean white shirt and blue jeans scent. It is like a breath of fresh air on a cold and clear spring day - absolutely beautiful. I love it for the office in the spring and summer. Such a wonderfully done fragrance, I love it much more than a lot of what is available at Sephora these days!

Today i tried forever and ever dior in the boutique and i was absolutely stunned Such an incredible iconic freesia&rose scent Airy metallic spicy freesia shampoo like scent and i also found that somehow it does share some similarities with 212 Okay not exactly or close but the freesia in here smells just like the freesia in forever and ever dior So i think the freesia is really noticeable here but people aren’t really experienced enough with florals thats why they didn’t vote high for the freesia even though the lily is stronger but i think the freesia also smells pretty noticeably strong

@onlyclean introduced me to this scent through her enthusiasm, for which I am happy and grateful. After all these years, I finally have access to the white flowers that previously came across as far too sharp to me. I catch myself—it is spring now—stopping by white-flowering shrubs where the scent used to make me sick and I didn't know how quickly to get past them, and now standing there inhaling so deeply to get the scent right down to my toes. Fantastic. I have a stack of white hand soap at the back of my cupboard, which I can now enjoy as well. There is a time for everything.

This is my most used and favourite fragrance ever! I simply can't go without it, just rebought a back up bottle and my current one isn't even finished yet :) It just smells fresh, clean and creamy. I'm new on the fragrance world so I'm still getting used to describing and picking on notes, but I feel like you can't go wrong with it. It's more of a spring/summer scent but I'll wear it whenever because I love it so it's been my signature scent for a few years. Love it! If anyone knows any hair mist or shower gel with a similar scent I'd really appreciate it :)

It smells like absolute purity! It crunches like a clean white shirt that is worn on a clean female body. When I spray it, I feel like a businesswoman and I love that feeling. It is cold and not the most feminine of those perfumes that I have. I think 212 is quite unisex. It looks like soap, but soap that I can smell forever. I'm waiting for the moment when I get tired of 212, but this moment has not come in three years and it looks like it will never come. I am glad that there is a perfume that I can without a doubt call my signature fragrance!

My first perfume love. Got it for the first time in 2000 and have been waiting the price to do down (LOL at myself) It is perfection in a bottle. I felt so fortunate to own such intricately designed perfume flacon and smell like heaven. One of my sweetest memories is related with 212. In 2005 went to a postgrade course in Spain and my sister - 20-years-old at that time - gave me her bottle of 212 to make my stay the happiest one. I'm celebrating my 20th year anniversary of being in love with this perfume. Thank you, Carolina Herrera, I love you.

This is my fresh perfume, as I don ́t like citrus /green fragrances (out of Cristalle). 212 NYC is polite, elegant, classy, clean but with presence, due to its good Performance. It projects for 3 Hours and it has longevity of 5 upon my Skin. It can be easy a signature: perfect to work, for the shower after the gym, an afternoon with your Friends. It ́s just for me a daywear scent. I don ́t see that on evening Settings. When I ́m tired of wearing perfumes, and I just want to feel myself fresh and elegant, I wear this one. Lovely Fragrance!

I adore this scent got this for my 16th Birthday. My mother was told it was a gents scent. I however adored it from the start after opening it! I tended to prefer femmine smelling fragrances on me, I still do!. Something so fresh crisp and divine about this 🥰 it's like being transported to central park New York on a cool crisp spring morning. The Cactus Flower , Mandarin, Musk and Sandalwood is always really prominent on my skin !🥰 I always find depsite being a EDT it lasts for a long time ! And doesn't smell overly floral on my skin.

Hold on ? Keep the angelic scent aside for a moment... if 212 concentration is EDT why i can smell it in my shirt even after 2 and a half dayysss ???????????!!!!!!!!!!! I am surprised no one has mentioned how exasperating the bottle is. What is the purpose of dividing it into two bottles? And SO hard to remove from the silver thing in the middle that holds them together. And my bottle(s) leaked terribly. Alas, this fragrance seems to be the next best thing to Elysium, so I will grin and bear it. It is beautiful. UPDATE: I did exchange for a new bottle, and the new one is not difficult to open. Thanks for the tip! I do love this fragrance!

I've been curious about this fragrance for years and finally tried it thanks to my monthly fragrance subscription. I really like it! I can smell the orange blossom with the first spray but that fades pretty quickly. There is also an unusual green note that must be the cactus flower. The fragrance is pretty sharp and soapy at first but ends up being a soft and musky white floral. It's a very sophisticated scent that would be great for almost any occasion.

[To anyone who rated it as moderate] I mean who tf voted this scent as moderate ? Yall got fake nostrils or what ? Or its just bcus its so monster she made yall nose blind within minutes ? To me it smells like clean warm skin, probably because of the musk. Perfect day-to-day fragrance, inoffensive but unique enough to not be boring, and I always get compliments with it. 212 brings me a peaceful feeling. White flowers on a spring breeze, fresh lemon juice, long flowy dresses, cuddles under cool smooth sheets... Not a beach scent, though, more countryside. Sillage and duration are moderate, a true EDT.

@hataruna Get your nose on pure musc narciso and if u smelled that clean peppery aroma that u dislike tell me and i’ll discuss about it cus gurl i die for that smell and im pretty much sure its a specific raw material [a few] that i know but just try it out and tell me 👍🏻✨ Spray on the back of your hands don’t ever let it touch paper strips and wait endlessly for it until the chemical musk opening vanishes

this one is like a beautiful floral soap to me. i always have one on my collection. i can use it in any time of the year. it's something different, i don't feel like i'm wearing perfume. makes me feel clean all day, as i took a shower yet. and also my fiance thinks it's very sexy, but this is not weird to me. he is a hygiene lover, he can smell any detergent for hours and hours without boring. :D

I can’t live without this do u guys believe that my mom wore this today and she just walked past me and guess what ! My mind was in another dimension i was speechless my eyes were tearing without me doing anything I literally just smelled this fragrance IN THE AIR also anytime i feel sad and off-mood i get up and take a sniff from the bottle and im now lingering between the clouds

Every time i wear this fragrance i discover something new I can detect the peony well on the drydown although its the least voted note ! Allllssooooo i can smell a noticeable cherry blossom note when i spray it as dots on my skin !! The 5th review for this fragrance and i will continue reviewing this scent every time I discover a new thing abt it !! My favorite fragrance for life

Pretty revolting for the first 2 hours. It just smells a bit 'off'. But after it has settled, it smells beautiful! Soft, warm, light. I just don't want to have to wait this long for a fragrance to blossom. Edit: Correction! This is BEAUTIFUL! I have learned to love the topnotes just as much as the middle and base. This perfume makes me feel light and feminine (but not girly).

It's interesting to read the variety of reviews for this one. It either works with your body chemistry or it doesn't, and you must enjoy musk. Thankfully, it works for me! 212 Was my signature for years. For me, it's a beautiful, clean, musky floral. Soft, classy and long-lasting. I have re purchased this one several times and will continue to do so as long as it's available.

It's a feminine, fresh scent of purity. Longevity is good, the intensity is excellent, even it's only an edt. I remember it from the times when I was a teenager and I came back to it after 20 years because it stucked in my memory. There is some similarity to scent of Palmolive olive shower gel. It can be worn daily, it's non-irritating but at the same time is modern and sexy.

I got a sample of this and WOW, this is so so lovely. Clean, fresh, carefree, a white crisp white shirt and jeans, just strolling around on a spring day, airy but not fleeting. Would be great for someone younger, but also dosen’t really have an age range. Really fits the theme, of my other favorite perfume's at the moment. I would absolutely love a bottle of this.

In the morning or atleast in my skin chemistry the musk feels a little metallic but super creamy full of depth and personality with the best bouquet of flowers im in love with the gardenia here it’s super creamy and makes the scent 1000 times better without it the scent wouldn’t be as good Light soft creamy airy delicate BUT lasts 2 days don’t ask me how

I've had this fragrance in my collection for nearly 20 years. Went through so many bottles of this. It's a beautiful soft floral. So feminine. It works really well in warm weather and a easy reach. Good office scent as well. The only thing I will say is I really dislike the bottle. I wish it came in something simple and elegant like the juice inside.

I've reviewed this one before and must admit I wasn't that impressed by the soapiness in this. To me it ruined it. Anyway, I took a punt and got a 30ml of it and I've had a change of heart. The soapiness doesn't really come out on my skin and I get whiffs of this amazing floral all day! I think this may be an ongoing "stayer" in my collection.

Own this magnificent masterpiece for me wife, something just clicks man, there is this aura of a confident women who will make your world better when you smell this. beaglebaileysm - I think you might have a faulty bottle. I've repurchased 212 several times now and have never found the bottles difficult to remove from the middle, nor have ever had any leakage. If I were you I'd contact the store you purchased your bottle from and see if they'll replace it for you x

Out of all 212 series for women this one is the best! Such a nice fresh floral, it's giving such clean, cozy vibes that I start thinking about snatching at least a decant of it, but it's difficult to find it. Classy, elegant and feminine scent, way better than most of clean laundry niche fragrances
