Bad Boy Dazzling Garden

I bought CH Bad Boy Dazzling Garden EDT ($122 for 100ml) from Dillard's near Salt Lake City last week and have worn it a handful of times. This is absolutely unisex, the notes don't mention anything floral other than clary sage but I'm picking up something flowery. But it's not so flowery that it would turn men away. Dazzling Garden is an Eau De Toilette and so I don't expect it to perform like an EDP or Parfum. I've been decently happy with its longevity though I would prefer that the sillage were bigger. I think this could be an office friendly fragrance for someone that is in their late twenties or older, I don't think there's an upper limit to the age group this would appeal to. The notes most prominent to me are the tonka bean, clary sage, and white pepper. The cacao is probably hiding in plain sight but my nose just isn't trained enough to pick it out. The grapefruit and vetiver blend in well behind the scene. I find the fragrance comforting and quite enjoyable, but if I were to adjust the blend I would pump up the grapefruit and cacao. Yesterday I was at the CH station inside of Macy's and was asking for the CH Pasion for Men but they didn't carry it so I feigned ignorance about Dazzling Garden and said I heard a rumor that CH was coming out with a new fragrance in a purple bottle. The salesman said that Dazzling Garden wasn't a new fragrance but rather that it was a limited release and repackaging of the original Bad Boy. I'm not familiar with Bad Boy so I cannot confirm or deny this, I'll try to get my nose on the original and let ya'll know if it is the same or not. Initial reaction... Best bad boy I've smelled. Smelled around 5 or 6 so far. This one is both fresh and sweet in the way I like. The other bad boys have a synthetic fixative or accord I don't like... this one does not have it, at least in the same way. Just sprayed but very impressed and bought a 30 ml.

When i first smelt it I thought it was a coffe fragrence, but it is more choclatey. The best Bad boy fragrence.

Super versatile and simple, love the darkness of the cacao and fresh spiciness of the black pepper.

While I DO like this version of Bad Boy, and think it’s probably the easiest one to wear, my previous love for this line is seriously waning. Between the original, Superstar, Gold whatever, and this, if you’ve smelled one then you’ve smelled them all. They all have a common pool of notes they share, and Each one just pushes one note forward and tones the rest back. The Original pushes the cacao up front, this one the sage. Gold pushes the pepper notes. Superstar lets the amber wood take center stage. Once you hit the mid and dry down, they’re indistinguishable from one another. Parfum remains the only one that does something different with its strong cannabis note in the opening, but that one has the worst dry down in the line. BB extreme takes all the notes and dials them up to 11, as if they mixed all the flankers together. I don’t talk about Cobalt because it sucks. Anyway, I’m getting off track. I like this, but no one needs it unless they don’t own anything in the line, in which case this is likely the best entry, followed by Superstar.
