CH Birds Of Paradise For Him

When I saw this limited edition in a flashy bottle covered with toucans, I dismissed it as just another generic, cash grab. But Carolina Herrera’s CH Men Birds of Paradise was a very pleasant surprise. Not only is it remarkably good, but it also stands out as unique and underrated. I found this to be a unique scent with a triple personality. It is a beautiful “green”, “tropical” and “aquatic blue” fragrance. It opens with an herbal blast of Egyptian blue chamomile and violet leaf. But don’t let others references to Fahrenheits petrol like violet leaf scare you away. I don’t get the petrol smell at all here. As it dries down, the fragrance transitions into a woody aromatic resting on a smooth, base of tonka bean and sandalwood. Interestingly, despite no coconut or banana being officially listed in the notes, the blend creates a creamy, earthy sweetness that feels distinctly tropical without being gourmand. On MY skin, my nose finds the closest point of reference to be Jean Paul Gaultier’s Le Beau Paradise Garden. However, while JPG Paradise Garden leans heavily into an incredibly sweet, blast of coconut and fig, CH Birds of Paradise takes a more grounded approach. On ME, CH Birds of Paradise is a greener, earthier version of JPG Paradise Garden. It shares that same "lush tropical getaway" DNA, but it replaces the heavy, syrupy sweetness of the JPG with fresh rain, cut grass, and mossy woods. It’s more mature, more versatile, and perfectly balances its blue aquatic and green notes with a tonka sweetness in the dry down. If you loved the concept of Paradise Garden but found it too headache inducing for high heat, this is a refined alternative. Performance was surprisingly solid. MY experience was 7 to 9 hours of longevity on the skin, with a moderate, pleasant scent bubble that doesn't scream for attention but definitely turns heads. Because it isn't aggressively sweet, it boasts very good versatility. It’s light enough for the office, refreshing enough for the peak of summer heat and woody enough to transition into a tropical date night scent. CH knocked this one out of the park and I give it a 8.5/10. CH Men Birds of Paradise is a hidden gem that blends green aromatics, blue aquatics with a tropical, woody backbone. If you want to smell like a sophisticated, earthy island getaway and want to stand out from the sea of standard summer colognes this is an absolute must try.

Blind Buy: After reading the comments, it seems like I’m the odd one out with this take but I don’t get any fruitiness. It smells very similar to the original CH Men but is a really nice quality flanker. Timeline of its development for me: First Spray: •Original CH Men DNA shining through •HEAVY violet (CH website just says violet but smells more sharp and green w/metallic edge like violet leaf, think Fahrenheit) •Soft, muted chamomile (makes me think of a warm-tone grey) •Almost intangible mint note (most likely from fir balsam) •No banana/fruity vibes ~ 20 Minutes In: • Violet/chamomile still center stage •Beginnings of a cool, wet jungle, slightly ozonic with a mineralic edge •Fir balsam kicking in •Cashmere woods giving a soft, grounded base ~40 Minutes: •Glorious wet jungle. Phantom palm leaf notes. Water dripping from tree leaves into a rocky stream. Humid but not hot?? (getting more of a sub-tropical rainforest vibe) ~1H: •Soft, almost transparent woodiness with more minerality taking over (driftwood/sandalwood + cashmeran?) ~4H: •Skin scent- no more transformation, heavy on the woody notes I will personally be renaming this one Violet Yucatán as this seems to be along the lines of what DS & Durga were shooting for but unfortunately didn’t come together well as I had hoped. Solid 8.5/10 fragrance but I’m kind of sad about the missing banana note. The intentional addition of a slightly underripe banana and leaf with a touch of copal or copaiba balsam would easily make this Top 5 worthy imo. Feels like a versatile easy reach for warmer temps. Seriously good stuff! Edit: I’ve gotten more compliments over this scent than I’ve ever received about a fragrance. Great mass appeal!

This is really good. I wasn't too interested after the CH Pasion flanker, which smelled great for all 30 seconds or so that it lasts. There is definitely a recognizable Paradise Garden-slash-Kenzo vibe here. If you blindfolded me, and gave me a test strip of this without telling me 'CH limited edition flanker' I'd have guessed something from JPG or Kenzo. The DNA is very much present. I don't see a perfumer listed here but this reeks of Bisch. Whatever the case is, this is very well done. It actually fits somewhere in-between JPGPG and the Kenzo EDTI. And judging from the RMO list, I'm not the only one getting that. There is a touch more green here, and a lot less of the sweetness I get from Paradise garden. I only mention it, because if you have smelled that, or the kenzo, you've smelled this. I think, honestly, I like this more than both of the others I mentioned. There is something....almost...waxy (?) deep in the drydown that is a little bit odd to my nose. But overall this is a well done offering. Probably not full-bottle worthy for me, as I'm not the biggest fan of tropical leaning fragrances. But I might... Edit/Update: Bought a bottle. I like it enough to add it. The Limited-edition scarcity of it added to my FOMO I guess. But it is a unique offering in this genre. Yes. Green. If you don't get it, then you probably haven't smelled too many in this particular space.

Very unique fragrance. I own over 400 bottles & nothing i own smells like this. It's unique scent DNA makes it a stand out; it opens very green & herbal, definitely of chamomile tea. However, its also aquatic & ozonic. . . It's literally a "blue" meets "green" fragrance DNA, that sits on top a delicate woody acord. There's also hints of sweetness, almost creamy like a banana or coconut despite none being listed on the official website! It's not a gourmand sweet, its a very earthy sweet, its dry down is where I love it. Once 10 minutes pass that spiced, herbal tea opening becomes subtle & a softness emits from it. Despite being a tropical themed scent I can see this worn anytime of the year or event. It's very versatile in its presentation! The woody note is listed first above but to me the green accords and ozonic notes lead the scent, the wood is only hinted. It's a fresh rain with recently cut grass on a sweet backround. . I wish this was easier to find so people could test it, due to its unique profile I'd never suggest blind buying it, but the sweetness actually increases as it dries down. VERY unique but I adore it! This combination definitely needs to be played around with by other fragrance houses because its lovely. Great longevity, sillage & projection. Its a limited edition that has come & gone twice since its 2024 release but floats around discounters often.

So I "blind-bought" CH Men Birds of Paradise (my most expensive blind-buy) and it did NOT dissapoint😄. Shout out to Ross from TLTG on YouTube who properly described this as having a "banana smoothie vibe" which is why I became so interested in it, and YES, I'd say it has a quite sweet, creamy, banana/woody vibe, but I dont get much "green" from it as most folks have described. That may be because my bottle needs to mature a bit as its only a few months old according to CheckFresh.com. I would describe Birds of Paradise as a summer appropriate, fresher take on a (Woody Gourmond). Again, it's really sweet, unique, creamy and dries down ultra woody and stays sweet throughout its entire performance.. BEAUTIFUL! Great performance betwern 8 and 10 hours depending on application, and I could easily pick it up on my clothes the following day and beyond. Birds of Paradise does come in a women's version, but although the men's version does lean a bit more masculine bc of the woodyness, this men's version could easily be pulled of by a woman and it would smell amazing on her. I am really VERY happy with my "Blind-buy" and would definately recommend anyone try out atleast a decant, or try it out at your local Mall. 9 outta 10 imo, and one of my top 5 outta my 60+ bottle collection (LOVE THE BOTTLE DESIGN TOO) 😘🤩🥰

I smelled Birds of Paradise about a week ago, I immediately fell in love with the opening, Me personally I have never smelled paradise garden or le beu and I don't think I can compare this to something I have smelled before. Flash forward to today at Dillard's I am talking to the nice lady about this frag and I saw that it said limited edition on the front of the box. this made me purchase it today, at first, I had a bit of buyer's remorse because anything over 100 to me is a lot, But I absolutely adore this, I have not been able to test out the longevity and silage yet, but I sprayed it on probably 4 hours ago and it is still projecting. I would say this would work best in the spring and early fall but I am probably going to be wearing this in the winter anyway. 125 for a 100 ml is actually not the worst and for the quality of scent and the beautiful bottle I would say it's worth it. Ill update if the scent profile changes at all and I figure out how long it truly lasts EDIT: So its been 3 days and my lord this stuff is incredible, 7 hours of projecting then it turns to a skin scent and I wore it a couple of different temperatures and it truly could be a year round scent. every time I wear it I fall more in love with it

Blind bought it. Just received today. Only $100 on the CH site with a code! Reminds me of CK Eternity Aromatic Essence but without the sharp notes. I did try JPG PG the other day for the first time. They are very different. JPG feels cheap, juvenile, and overly sweet. Birds of Paradise is creamy and smooth. Grown up. Mature. Sweetness tuned down. A litte floral. It does feel like a jungle vibe. I can see how it can come across as coconut, but the way it is blended with the wood notes, it is not raw coconut. It is more like a creamy coconut-like scent. It is hard to describe. Also, no banana detected here. I want to do a full day comparison with the CK since I also own it. I did a quick test and was surprised how different it was, but then I am not sure why BoP reminds me of it so much lol. Solid pickup for the older gentleman, or classy young adult, that wants something other than citrus for summer. And damn, you cannot beat the price in today's market. Sillage and longevity are top notch. CH always kills it when it comes to performance. Bottle is pretty cool I think! Atomizer is above average. I can go on!!!

CH Birds of Paradise for Him is an aromatic, herbal, and woody fragrance. Its opening is fresh and herbal, with the ozone-like sensation of the violet leaves of the classic CH Men fragrance and some spices that also remind me of CH Men Central Park. Over time, the chamomile note is perceived, accompanied by woody notes of sandalwood and fir, which add depth to the scent and make it very pleasant to the nose. Birds of Paradise is suitable for daytime wear, in any season, for work, school, casual outings, etc. Its longevity was approximately 8 hours, with a noticeable sillage for the first few hours. I liked the scent more than the bottle and the name of the fragrance, and I think that's the most important thing. It smells very pleasant and is quite versatile. So I'll try not to be fooled by the appearance of the bottle.

I tested on quickly on paper on a Duty Free and really enjoyed its freshness. I returned to a store later to better evaluate and my opinion remained: CH managed to add a strong fruity aspect to the green and fresh opening without making it sickly, exaggerated nor too sensual. Its fruity nuances add a casual aspect to a very classy base that makes Birds Of Paradise perfect for a tropical summer brunch occasion. However, the official notes caught me a bit off guard. I seem to be one of the very few people that actually get a Melon-very-distant-from-banana vibe from this, would never have guessed the chamomile (although it may have been what made me think of melon). The woods and violet leaves make sense, though.

CH Birds of Paradise is a good, quality fragrance with a lovely scent! Sort of a mix between CH Men and Gucci Pour Homme II (up top). I believe it is the chamomile and violet leaves that help to produce a similar vibe as the violet leaf, tea and and even cinnamon in GPHII. I have all three and all are different, but there are some similarities in my opinion. I don't get the similarities between this and JPG Le Beau Paradise Garden. I have that as well. Update: I just layered CH Men with GPHII. Quite close indeed. 98% close: NO. 80% close: Yeah, I think so. Birds of Paradise is lighter & brighter than layering the two.

after bought the bottle and wear it for few days, this became my personal signature fragance. i live in Panama an hot ass humid country ,this smell reminds me of their tropical rainforest. has hints of petricor smell that many fragheads are looking for. fresh and aromatic from start to finish. this is the mature version of jpg paradise garden without the sweetness and fruitniness. im getting tired of this sweet , vainilla bubblegummy smell trend

Wow. Eccentric banana violet candy opening. Unusual and enticing. Digging what Herrera is doing now, Pasione was awesome, just lacking in performance. The only reference I get here is the Azzaro Decibel release that also was like this, extremely purple and offbeat. Really cool fragrance artistry here. I lack words to describe it. It really goes close to skin after a while and leaves a subtle but gorgeous body musk.

Honest Review: Right after spraying it to my skin this fragrance is very similar to JPG-Paradise Garden, although less sweet/minty and more woody/masculine but very fresh. It honors its designer theme and description. It has a tropical smell that feels like being on a rainforest in Puerto Rico. I wasn’t expecting it to like it as much as i did. Give it a try... ;)

Im going to be honest right of the bat it has this tropical smell to it (i should know im from Puerto Rico where its summer all year long) then as it dries it gets this woody earthy sweet smell that just takes me to a walk through the forest and it opens up to a some what light aquatic marine vibe. Its simply an amazing smell and definitely did not expect it.

I don't know who the nose is but I suspect it is Quentin Bisch, this is his exact signature, a somewhat milky sandalwood and coconut mixed with a green grassy facet, on a warm and fuzzy base of cashmeran, it's actually smell really lush and tropical in a way, not far from Kenzo pour homme Intense or Le Beau

My absolute FAVORITE designer of 2024 and even 2025. Ive had this fragrance since uts released and I put a bit of a dent in my bottle, but WOW! this thing has gotten VERY POTENT over-time/Maturation! 3 spritzes is all I can take now bc it lasts and projects very, very well. LOVE H Birds of Paradise!

Perfect summer fragrance... different , modern ....woody , aquatic and tropical .... good for spring and hot summer ....long lasting.... unique .. ..I still don't know how they managed to put the tropical scent inside a bottle... 🦜🦜 i love it..birds of paradise....The name says it all....

Fantastic. Not too sweet and not too tropical. It's masculine with a hint of tropical. Very nice. I wasn't planning on getting it but I got it after I tried it. Great masculine summer scent , for someone who isn't a kid. Has a touch of class to it.

I'm pretty amazed with the iconic realise of CH. its grand, sexy and timeless CH preserved their DNA with much enhancement in Birds of Paradise ( The name itself is Bro) Over all 9/10

Quite nice. Almost tropical, smells like it might have coconut milk in there. Very clean, creamy, and green. Maybe a hint of iris?

this is extremely unique extremely underrated

The opening took me back to a scent that I haven't worn in many years. The chamomile here reminds me of Gucci Memoire. It opens with a lot of that, and it persists throughout the life of the scent. This might be a bit challenging for some that don't really vibe with that note, but for the people who bare with it and reach the mod/dry down, you're in for a treat, especially if you dig sandalwood. The dry down introduced a very pleasant mix of woody notes while being led by those aromatic herbal facets of the chamomile and fir. Blind bought, but there's no regrets. Going to give this a few more spins before it gets warmer.

This is a refreshing scent that combines mint, green, and grassy notes with a tropical twist. It evolves into a spicy, earthy scent with a woody, peppery, and musky base. I find it very unisex, and especially suitable during spring and summer; it projects well and lasts over 8 hours on my skin with a moderate sillage for the first two, then BoP transitions into a pleasant skin scent. Worth the price for quality (and nice bottle too!).

Tropical, green, and fresh to me it’s more like a bluish green type of smell in the same vein as the Le Beaus. Dries down to be more woody petrichor like fresh, nice for a designer smell and has good performance, strong for 3 hours and a skin scent for about 5 more check this out if you want a different type of fresh in a designer smell

This is really good. Cannot really think of something similar, it is fresh but classy and atenttion grabbing. I believe it is a unisex fragance and it really lasts a long time.

Nice violet tonka fragrance, very similar to regular CH Men, really. Seems just a typical flanker, expected better from CH

Minty, green and grassy. Opens fresh, has a minty aspect. Is a touch sour with a tropical, coconut aroma. Becomes a little sweeter, is very "grassy." Then develops a faint aquatic vibe, gets salty and marine like, but it's in the background and doesn't last long. Remains green, stays minty. Becomes fresh and spicy and then a little earthy. On the skin it starts to sour and notes of juniper and vetiver are detectable. It eventually darkens and becomes a little woody, pepperey and with some musk. As it warms off the skin/drifts through the air, it smells predominantly of peppermint. More masculine but not overly so. Would suit ages 20-50(ish.) More of a day scent and best for the spring/summer. Performance is fine; good projection overall and lasting as a skin scent for 8hrs+ (on my skin.) It's not totally unique, but very modern, and if you like minty-fresh scents with a grassy undercurrent it might be for you, though I'd reccommend trying it on skin first.

It’s okay, not really my style. Too green and earthy for my liking. Definitely a mature masculine scent for the summer.

I've had this fragrance for over a year now. I spray it every few months to see if and how it changes. I blind bought it off of the rave reviews listed here. The fragrance has not changed all that much, if at all, since I've used it. The main smell I get is banana daiquiri in an overwashed plastic cup, poolside at a resort while the song "YMCA" plays over the speakers. To me, the vibe is also of a white dad (with 3 young kids and one on the way) waiting in line at the Club Med concierge to arrange a day trip for a jungle excursion. The smell is not wild, but very safe and controlled - like an 8am corporate retreat with name tags - with no element of danger or paradise. It sparkles like a spreadsheet. Maybe Kevin from HR wants to rock this on vacation because the only ledge it lives on is a hotel balcony.

Get ready to get confused by violet...in a good way. There is a jungle here, after the rain, and there is a bouquet of fruits. There is also an attention-grabbing facet to this which I believe comes from the violet. A clear, almost sharp violet that takes a little getting used to, but is well worth it. It's the background of the fragrance, providing a contrast with the jungle scent and the contrast defines this fragrance. Transportive, understated, can dress up and down, and longevity is 10-14 hours. I feel like I'll get through my bottle in three/four years, which is fast for me.

if i had to describe this fragrance with one word, i'd say "equatorial". it's very green and foresty, but at the same time, not sappy or melancholic. i love the fact that there are no mango/pineapple/passionfruit notes in here and they didn't go the basic route to create a tropical scent. also, i think the bottle is beautiful and looks awesome on display.

I expected coconut based on these reviews under me, but was surprised with how much violet and grassyness was in this. The chamomile had a not unpleasant synthetic edge to it. Overall, airy, green, barely sweet, well blended, but not coconut. Try the new Tommy Vibrant Summer, or Boss Bottled Pacific if you're looking for coconut

Another Tropicalish Fragrance? Paradise Garden, Asad Zanzibar, CK Eternity Aromatic Essence and now this makes four (that I have heard about). I'm not sure there were any last year and now we're being bombarded with Tropical. Why?

Rounded, interesting, pleasant, and lasting. No green bitterness here, just a hard to figure overlap of soft saldalwood, violet, plant whispers, and something that just approaches banana.

Fresh, watery, a bit sweet. Has the general vibe of a Kenzo fragrance. Unique but doesn't stand out too much. A good release.

It smell like recent cut grass soo it smell synthetic and weird is not for everybody imagine the paradise JPG but worst
