CH Pasión for Him

It's either people haven't had much experience smelling many different things or simply their sense of smell is severely impaired. One person thought it smells like TF Noir Extreme, another said Parada L'Homme Intense, and someone else thought it resembles Dior Homme Parfum 2025...seriously? I am trying to be kind here. First this is a woody scent, and a very weak one at that. I wish they have put in perfume oils as much as they have put in caramel dye into the liquid. It does smell nice and light, and could be a good three season suitable scent only if it performed. Too heavy for summer and too weak for the other three seasons as it stands. I get two hours max with no projection to speak of. This platform should enable people to defeat the bait and switch games that corporates use to trick people into buying useless products. Upon initial spray it smells amazing, all the captivating notes come through, the sandalwood, the iris, and tonka. Then within 20 minutes it settles into cheap synthetic woods with no character, and then even those disappear within a couple of hours, what a scam. This is why sellers of mall fragrances don't offer samples like how things used to be, because if you have a sample you will see through the scam. Now whenever I want to buy something, I will ask for 2-5 ml sample and if they don't provide it, I am not buying. This was the benefit of this fragrance.

This one has got an extremely pleasant scent profile, super balanced with every note listed, not overbearing on the powderiness of the iris nor cloying with sweetness, everything just in good harmony with the woodsy accords. As many have stated before, CH Men Pasión does unfortunately have a lackluster performance in the projection / sillage department. One does need to overspray with this than any other ordinary fragrance, or could it be just me that I feel like within 2-3 hours it's become basically a skin scent? Comparisons to Dior Homme and its flankers aren't justified, maybe you do get a more prominent iris blast on the opening for 15 minutes that may remind some of Dior, but they are nothing alike. If you can still get your hands on this, I'd say definitely go for it because this is indeed a limited release, albeit it isn't mentioned anywhere. Purchased mine as a blind-buy this week with production date 2023 October. Not necessarily a groundbreaking smell in terms of uniqueness, but also very far from being generic too. On scent alone I'd rate this 5 out of 5, performance 2.5/5 perhaps. Will be further testing this though, don't want to judge to soon having just picked it up.

Once you realize this is a summer fragrance, it's an easy 10/10 (as long as you got a good deal on it from a discounter - $40-50 at JS). Too weak for the cold months, but in the heat.... Oh man! 4-6 hours of moderate projection and 4 hours more of a woody vanilla skin scent. It's a super dry, woody scent with a not-too-powdery iris note that is very pleasant and noticeable, but toned way down compared to DHI and Reserve Prive. It doesn't smell a lot like either of those, but in a similar family for sure. The cedarwood is very prominent and realistic to me, moreso than I've smelled in any other fragrance, reminding me of dry sawdust (in a good way). Be aware- there is no sweetness in this juice, don't let the vanilla note listed fool you. Nowadays, most fragrances with vanilla and tonka in them are sweet bombs, but this isn't really sweet at all. This makes it a great choice to layer and add depth to those that are. If you enjoy an ambery iris fragrance but know how cloying those can get on warmer days, this is the solution for you. Considering it's nothing like the rest of your sweet, blue, citrus summer lineup, CH Pasión really stands out. Chef's kiss.

A beauty surprise, it is far from what I expected. While the notes might suggest something opulent, dark, or strictly for evening wear, the reality is a subtle and incredibly well-blended fragrance that is easily signature-scent worthy. It is completely inoffensive and carries a sophisticated air that makes it feel much higher quality than a typical designer release. In terms of wearability, it sits in the same realm as Prada L'Homme, though it is significantly creamier and leans just a bit more unisex. It shares the smooth texture found in the newer Dior Homme but strips away the heavy woodiness for something more fluid. If you find Valentino Uomo (2021) to be too loud or sweet, this serves as a much more understated and polite alternative. The only downside is the performance, which feels quite weak on my skin. To get a decent scent trail, you definitely need to be heavy-handed with the sprays. However, this intimate sillage does have a silver lining; it makes the fragrance an exceptionally safe and classy choice for a full day in the office without overwhelming those around you.

Gorgeous! I rarely ever impulse buy, but I do make the exception if I feel the fragrance is just that good. I don't think there really is one fragrance that can be compared to this. It is analogous to many different perfumes that are not in the same fragrance family at all. So I'll do my best to try to describe this. Off the top it has a similar vibe to how Paco Rabanne One Million smells in the dry down, with a hint of the iris that you get from Prada L'homme (OG). The neroli is barely detectable as it is so well blended, but it gives it enough freshness to make this perfect for spring. You also get a Givenchy Gentleman Privee vibe from the Iris and bourbon vanilla, but again, fresher. When it dries down the amber/myrhh pulses off your skin in a way that I have only known Prada Amber Pour Homme to achieve. It smells nothing like Prada Amber (believe me I am a fan boy of the purple juice), but it does achieve a similar vibe to how it pulses off your skin. The hype for this fragrance is well warranted. Well worth putting this on your list to sample.

Starts off kinda a mess of notes but after it settles it is a very nice iris with subtle nuances of incense, on a backbone of boozy vanilla. A beautiful fragrance I'd put the iris note closest to gentleman edp just with a vanilla backbone instead of the darker woody backbone of gentleman edp. As it is a lipsticky iris I can see this being polarizing, but if your into scents like this it would probably end up being a love for you. The drydown is just as good as the iris and vanilla really begin to pop, and the fragrance seems to get smoother and smoother as time goes on. Longevity is good I get 7 to 9 hours on my skin and it projects moderately for about 2 hours. Overalli have to give this a 9 out of 10 as this very well may be a masterpiece but there so much out there that is similar.

I got this one today. Despite the bottle design, it seems to be a new line rather than a CH Men flanker, so I am guessing it's not limited edition. It doesn't say limited edition on the box like all the CH Men flankers do. You can just ignore the "reminds me of" section on this one. Yes, it has a good amount of iris, but it's not at all soapy and the neroli is not very prominent at all to my nose. It's more of a dusty, powdery iris complemented with a lot of woods, some spices, and vanilla. Overall, it's a soft but beautiful composition that lacks performance. Worse than current CH Men batches I'm afraid. It's very inoffensive, and while it doesn't smell like these fragrances, it is the same type of liked and easygoing scents as Dior Homme 2020 and Burberry Hero.

As an Iris lover, I was eager to sample this. As far as the scent goes, I love this fragrance. You pick up the Iris immediately, then that pepper/olibanum comes in. It's probably one of the most masculine Iris fragrances out there. I've smelled pretty much every well-known Iris fragrance, and this one doesn't remind me of anything specifically. If you're just getting into Iris, this is probably a good one to start with. Where this juice lacks is on performance. It lasts over 6 hours, but the projection is borderline skin scent. As much as I love the scent, I don't know if I can pay for a full bottle with less than mediocre performance. It smells damn good though.

Just received my bottle of Carolina Herrera CH Pasión for Him. Smells sweet, spicy, warm, and creamy, a very pleasant smell. The vanilla and woodsy notes come out within 10-15 minutes, pretty fast. I also feel that this has a hint of caramel, maybe it's just my nose. Not an overwhelming scent, meaning it's not offensive, you can wear this for any type of event or if you want, can wear this in an office setting but, i would definitely wear this as a date night fragrance and to be honest, it smells very similar to Spicebomb Extreme by Viktor&Rolf.

#1158 in my "Tour de Fragrance" This was a pleasant surprise. The combination of iris, olibanum and myrrh works nicely here. Reminds me of Amouage "Interlude Black Iris" one of the best fragrances of all time in my opinion. This CH scent is $75 whereas the Amouage is $185. Admittedly the potency of this CH scent is not quite as strong. But for the savings you can afford to spray more. Car pool, elevator, small office safe. Good for business or pleasure. I consider this a very successful blind buy.

Oh my...this is surprisingly lovely. For once the hype is real. This is indeed the pinnacle of designer frags crossing into niche territory. There's itty bitty bits and bobs of all the above "remind me of" perfumes but the overall combination brings a very unique scent to the table. I don't think that in my 500+ collection I have a scent that's too close in similarity. This is pure class in a bottle. Don't sleep on this...get it before it's discontinued.

This has Olibanum essential oil in its formulation. I have the oil and compared the scents side by side and I am pretty sure about this. The Olibanum blends beautifully with the sandalwood and iris. Very distinctive. Not really similar to the fragrances people are mentioning here.

A very light Dior Homme Intense style fragrance. The opening gives off a Vicks vapor rub a little bit, but once you get past that it turns into a more versatile Dior Homme Intense.

I love it. Very nice woody and spicy scent. Well balanced. In away unique and in away familiar based on Iris note. Great for cooler weather and evenings out. Versatile and classy.

This is so amazing! Love this one from first sniff. If you like creamy iris and woods in the back ground with a spicy opening then buy this one! It’s a limited release after all!

Very nice creamy Iris/sandalwood fragrance. The performance was really bad at first but I gave it 3 months of maceration after putting some oxygen and got a lot of improvement.

To my nose, it’s reminiscent of the smell of a pencil when you sharpen it. I love it lol brings me back so many memories. I’m a sucker for Iris

Today I'm taking a look at a fragrance from the house of Carolina Herrera. I have reviewed a few from the Bad Boy line, but the only experience I have with the CH Men line is CH Men Prive; a boozy and leathery fragrance that's pretty underrated in my opinion. From what I've heard this is an iris-forward fragrance, so I'm assuming it's going to be quite a bit different from CH Men Prive. I do enjoy iris though, so maybe this will be another hidden gem. Let's get into it; Scent: The opening is powdery, sweet, and warm. The primary notes I get are iris, bourbon vanilla, olibanum, and Australian sandalwood. The strongest of the notes are the iris and bourbon vanilla. The iris pops off the skin in the opening with a burst of powderiness nuanced by soft florals. It's not a very "makeup-y" iris like what you find in Dior Homme Intense, but it is still very powder forward; almost like baby powder. Right underneath the iris lies the bourbon vanilla, imparting a creamy sweetness tinged with just a bit of booziness. This is followed by the olibanum and Australian sandalwood. The olibanum is instantly recognizable as a, warm, woody, and resinous note with a bit of sweetness in it as well. Lastly, the Australian sandalwood lingers in the background as a soft woodiness. It's similar to standard sandalwood, but differs in that it is a bit more subtle and fresh by comparison. The dry down is sweet, powdery, and woody. The primary notes I get are iris, bourbon vanilla, Australian sandalwood, and tonka bean. The strongest of the notes are the bourbon vanilla and tonka bean. The bourbon vanilla takes center stage in the dry down with the same creamy sweetness from the opening, albeit without the boozy touch. Meanwhile, the tonka bean has emerged in the dry down to provide its signature flavor of sweetness with a bit of powder behind it as well. Up next is the iris and Australian sandalwood. The iris still imparts a distinct powdery quality in the dry down, though not as noticeable as it was in the opening. Lastly, the Australian sandalwood still provides the same fresh woodiness, but even more subtle than it was in the opening; an afterthought really. Performance: Initial projection within the first hour is moderately strong at around 3-5 feet. Sillage is moderate as well with a noticeable but controlled scent trail. After a few hours the projection was about arms length and the scent trail was still noticeable but lighter than it was. The fragrance became a skin scent around hour 5-6. When to wear: CH Pasion is a fall/winter fragrance suitable for both daytime and evening wear. This fragrance has enough versatility to be dressed up and worn formally, or dressed down and worn casually. Wear it on special occasions like date nights, or wear it out to the mall. Either way, it will work. It's also a great pick for the office thanks to its unobtrusive and safe nature. Blind buy: This is a pretty mass-appealing scent profile. Think powdery and sweet like Dior Homme but not as makeup-y, that's a semblance of what you have here. Others have compared this to Dior Homme Parfum 2025, and I can get that as well. It's not as strong, but it has a similar DNA. If that sounds good to you, this is a pretty safe blind buy. Final verdict: Ch Pasion was a pleasant wearing experience. The scent profile was enjoyable and safe, but nothing that blew me away. Performance was what I'd call average. Moderate projection and sillage for the first couple of hours, then fading away into a skin scent by the 5th or 6th hour. Versatility is above-average. It'll work well during daytime or evening for pretty much any occasion, but is best used during the cooler months. It would work great as an office fragrance, though. Mass-appeal is definitely something this fragrance has. Iris, vanilla, sandalwood; these are notes that almost anyone can enjoy. To wrap this up, I think CH Pasion is a good buy if you can get it sub $60, but I wouldn't spend more than that for it. It's not something I'm going to be adding to my collection just because I have other fragrances with similar profiles that I enjoy more and perform better. However, if you don't have anything with this DNA already, CH Pasion isn't a bad introduction to iris. Scent: 7/10 Longevity: 6/10 Sillage: 6/10

When this fragrance first launched, I thought it was overpriced, so I held off. Eventually, it popped up on discount sites, and I picked up a tester on Fragrancebuy using a rebate code, so the price-to-quality ratio turned out to be excellent. Carolina Herrera Pasion is a good fragrance overall, though a bit underwhelming. Given that I usually gravitate towards iris-based scents, I expected to like it more than I do. On the first spray, it reminded me (slightly) of Dior Homme Eau—a scent I find stunning. I was happy. However, the initial freshness faded quickly. It transitioned into something more powdery that reminded me somewhat of Johnson’s Baby Powder. The woody notes also became more prominent. There’s a hint of what seems to be a very light oud, which I’m not a fan of since some oud scents can verge on smelling like urinal pucks. Overall, it’s still a pleasant fragrance, and the ingredients seem high quality. However, I won’t repurchase. After about 30 minutes, the scent doesn’t project very far, which might tempt some to wear it in hot weather, but I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s too heavy for summer—better suited for fall, possibly spring, and maybe on a cooler summer evening (if not over sprayed). Still, I don't think I'd mind someone smelling like this sitting close to me. The scent trail it leaves in the air is actually much more pleasant than smelling it directly off skin.

Absolutely gorgeous fragrance that can go toe-to-toe with the best of the iris fragrances out there, save for the fact that this is one of the worst performing I've ever encountered. Now, to put this into context, my skin obliterates fragrances. Notoriously strong performers for everyone else seem to vanish on my skin in half the time as the averages I see. I love this fragrance, but it literally was gone without a trace after an hour. Maybe I have a skin condition (doctor says no), maybe this is just a really weak mix (highly likely). Or, maybe that is exactly what the perfumer intended (also a possibility). The same issue plagues me with Dior Homme Original. I love the scent profile, just wish it had legs. Worth a sample if you love iris based fragrances, and maybe you'll experience the greatness of the scent and it will last on your skin. I'm disappointed, since I really like the scent profile. Edit 7-2025: Picked up a bottle anyway. I'll live with the poor performance since I really love the scent profile.

This is a beautiful woody iris fragrance and could easily be regarded as niche level quality. The iris is not lipsticky like Dior Homme Intense, not powdery like Prada L'Homme, but more creamy in the vein of Dior Bois D'Argent. The woody notes are very prominent, especially during the drydown. By then its more reminiscent of Valentino Uomo Intense. I was hoping the myrrh would be more noticeable as I very much like that scent, but I don't really get much of it nor the olibanum. Its primarily a very woody iris fragrance with touches of vanilla and tonka. It's biggest weakness is the performance. It struggles to last three hours (even on clothes) with practically no sillage or projection. Pretty much a skin scent from start to finish so don't hesitate to lay it on heavy. If they added a little Iso E Super to this to give it more push off the skin, it could very well be one the best iris forward fragrance of them all. A shame really. So much potential, wasted.

It is clearly a perfume for men, although at the beginning you can feel the note of iris and it remains the star of the perfume throughout the drydown, for an EDP it has a weak projection and longevity towards the medium. As a smell, it is not something wow, but if you find it at 70 -$80 a bottle is a fair price compared to what this perfume offers you. I don't recommend blind-buying, because many people won't like it because its not tell you i am an fancy and sophisticated person. It has a huge ressemblence to Franck Olivier Oud Touch but this one is much softer then Oud Touch. I think can be wearable all season , but in summer only to temp of maximum 23°C.

I don’t like Iris forward fragrances, but this one was a gateway for me to start appreciating the note. It’s constructed in the same way as the original CH Men, both dense but light at the same time, super versatile. While the iris is very present here I don’t think it dominates the profile, it’s a great combination of that powdery lipstick scent with a sweet, luxurious dry vanilla and resinous incense, all enveloped in woods, like the inside of a cigar box. Only downside is the projection, very close to skin after the initial 30 minutes, if it wasn’t for this it’d be a 10/10. Longevity is good as a skin scent.

I remember some reviewer saying this is a good gateway fragrance to start appreciating scents with iris since this have such note but slightly tuned down and still recognize this 'lipsticky' note. About the comparison with other iris fragrances, I'm with the people that thinks this is its own fragrance, I don't think it's trying to imitate any other brand, it's more like CH's take with masculine iris fragrances. I would say however that this is closer to the Prada L'Homme edt dna on the base notes you get this balsamic/lactonic note that reminds me of face lotion, but this takes it to a more playful direction.

If I could sum up this fragrance I'm getting: Iris + Olibanum/Myrhh + Tonka bean. The Olibanum/Myrhh is the most obvious note, which for me coming from a Middle Eastern background I immediately recognized. This is the main reason why this fragrance is nothing like the other Iris fragrances. It smells different from Dior/Prada/Givenchy/Valentinos iris fragrances. This is a solid Iris fragrance, that almost has a Niche quality about it.

Just picked this one up and it’s nice. The opening is very nice you pick up the iris lipstick notes with some brightness. As it dries down I get a smokey incense feel not sure where it’s coming from maybe the “dark woodsy notes”. It’s nice but sits extremely close to my skin does not project very much but I also don’t mind that part. I like it but don’t love it.

I definitely pick up a resemblance to prada lhomme. Ive never smelled Lhomme Intense but i could see how that would be even more similar. Bit of that soapy Iris vibe but more powdery to me. After it settles it does start to differ. I think its probably the woods. Overall it's a really great fragrance. Highly recommend if you're a fan of that Iris!

I love this style of fragrance; woodsy iris tonka bean. It’s in the wheelhouse of Valentino uomo intense. I think it smells great but the longevity is awful. I don’t get longer than an hour before the scent disappears. It would make a good office fragrance because if nobody likes how you smell at least it’ll only last a few minutes.

Awesome fragrance, very nice scent, I love it a lot, sadly, the longevity and sillage are beyond disappointing. I liked it when I got a sample and I wanted to buy it, lucky me I received this as a gift. I would regret it to buying it and finding out later that the performance is bad.

Just got my decant from MyCustomScent.... 15-20 mins after spraying I get a lot of citrus with a light powdery touch. Not bad but nothing I’d say I “love”. This is just my subjective opinion, def gonna have to give it some time and more wears to see how I really feel.

This is really nice and I get mostly vanilla, some cedar and a bit of powder most likely from the iris. It all just goes together really nicely. It's good for most seasons except the hot weather because it does have a bit of a gourmand vibe to it, but not too heavy.

I like/love all of the fragrances in the 'This Perfume Reminds Me Of' section, but this... there's something about it that just doesn't hit the same as those others. At least the performance sucks so I don't have to smell it for too long.

Cheaper version of Dior Homme. Lighter and more unisex. For the price it’s a decent value. Just disappointed by the redundancy.

Reminds me of TF Noir Extreme. A little sharper in some areas. Maybe a little bit of The One EDP mixed in.

First, I'm writing this review based on what I smell on a paper strip after ordering a sample from an online fragrance store. Upon the first spray and several minutes thereafter, my initial thoughts were "and we FINALLY have a winner on our hands" after so many years of these ridiculous CH Men and Bad Boy flankers. Quite honestly, after seeing the notes that are listed here, I was expecting something far different. This was a FRESH and CLEAN smell, but without the dreaded, overdone, and overused notes that we are finding in abundance lately. After an hour, I returned to the sample and it changed dramatically into something that I DEFINITELY smelled before, but couldn't think of it right away. I struggled and struggled and then it finally hit me... the paper strip on which I sprayed CH Pasión for Him smells VERY, VERY, VERY close to Chanel Allure Homme Sport Cologne. Quite frankly, I'm not sure I'd be able to tell the difference in a blind test -- which leads me to the following concerns: 1.) Did I receive a TOTALLY different fragrance in my sample, even though it's labeled "CH Pasión for Him?" 2.) The few reviews prior to mine and the "This Perfume Reminds Me Of" results are TOTALLY and COMPLETELY off -- especially when comparing it to the Prada choices! While I don't HATE this fragrance, just like I don't hate Channel Allure Homme Sport Cologne, the VERY close resemblance to it in the end was such a letdown -- especially after that initial and unique opening! It's been a VERY, VERY long time since I've been able to get SUPER excited over a Herrera release and I'm sad to report that CH Pasión for Him isn't going to end that long streak.

Sweet creamy iris, Silky wood, Pleasant. Unisex. I could see this to be very mass appealing in the colder weather - conceptually. This starts off very creamy from the iris/orris butter and sandalwood combination, which quickly dries down to warm, fizzy spices and generic woodsy, "Cereal-y" resins. Performance lacks in this one however, and very underwhelming fragrance in my opinion. Only if this was not limited, I would probably buy the whole bottle (I just don't like limited editions in the consumables) Sillage and longevity just would not be strong enough to cut through the cold, which limits Pasion's usability. In terms of resemblance, I really cannot pinpoint anything, but if I were to stretch, Prada Luna Rossa Black would have similar "tonka bean/ coumarin". DHI when it comes to subtle "peary" sweetness, but again I am stretching too much to "match the resemblance". Seasons and occasions overlap with those two fragrances, which are way better options than this.

This is quite unisex to be honest, (cheap) powdery iris with woods, neroli and vanilla in the back. Quite boring and absolutely not worth the hype. Pasion is miles away from the high quality Iris scent like Prada l'homme and Dior homme, dont be fooled.

Am very surprised noone mentioned the huge similarity between this and Angel's Share by Kilian and Oajan by PDM. It came to my mind at first sniff.

Am really surprised noone said it before me, this is like 90% similar to Angel's Share by Kilian without the boozy opening of course.

The iris is very sweet and creamy, really well done here, but that’s where it ends. The performance is very poor, and the woody notes smell like pencil shavings to me. I don’t pick up spice or vanilla at all. I also dont think this smells anything like the other Iris fragrances out on the market, I just wish I liked it more.
