Lavendel op geen enkele manier metaalachtig, eerder rokerig? Deze is iets minder rokerig met iets meer roos, iets meer vanille en zachter, maar alle wijzigingen heel subtiel. Wellicht is deze als de Impact en de Millesime als de PUHDC 2017, maar als iemand zou zeggen dat alles hetzelfde is, zou ik in de lach schieten en het ook geloven! Opoponax en Styrax doen hier wat in de vorige edities werd gedaan door Amber. Prachtig. Betaal geen hoofdprijs voor de stopgezette PUHDC 2017, de Millesime en de Impact, deze Pour Un Homme De Caron Parfum voldoet volledig aan de traditie en is een prachtige opvolger. - New ingredients: opoponax and Styrax and a lot more lavender. It is a worthy successor to Pour Un Homme De Caron 2017, which in the very beautiful ombre bottle that goes from green to black, the Millesime 2014 and also to Impact 2005. Lavender in no way metallic, more smoky? This one is a little less smoky with a little more rose, a little more vanilla and softer, but all changes very subtle. Perhaps this is like the Impact and the Millesime like the PUHDC 2017, but if someone would say that everything is the same, I would laugh and believe it! Opoponax and Styrax do here what was done in the previous editions by Amber. Beautiful. Don't pay a high price for the discontinued PUHDC 2017, the Millesime and the Impact, this Pour Un Homme De Caron Parfum fully complies with tradition and is a beautiful successor.

This smells lovely... powdery vanilla and soft floral from the lavender. Its a high class soap to me that does not project at all. It is skin with the gentle whiffs here and there of a sweet powder. You wear this when you don't want to wear anything and it is very versatile and office safe. I like the scent what little there is.... I bought a 5ml decant of this to wear and try out. It's lovely but so is a bar of nice soap... I wouldn't pay much for this despite how nice it is. I like my fragrances a bit bolder and reaching out. If you like that, you will not enjoy this fragrance at all. This is for the classy gentleman wearing a fragrance to continue being refined and gentlemanly. Noone will be offended by this. Powder with a touch of vanilla sweetness. Scent: 8/10 Performance: Intimate Longevity: Seems to be moderate to my skin Pros: Great inoffensive, versatile and anyone can wear it. It is literally a touch of sweetness on powder. Cons: Just wash your body and put on baby powder honestly. Not much reason to buy this in my opinion unless you want to be intimate or have a job that doesn't allow much perfumery to occur.

Lavender explosion. I really love what this house can do with Lavender. I now, however, am beginning to think that this might be just a bit too much of a good thing. The review below referencing the EDT as a better balance is correct, although this evolution isn't bad at all by any stretch. I think that this one will boil down to two factors. The particulars of the skin of the wearer, and how sensitive they are to distortions of excess lavender (i.e. 'play-doh' effect). Good performer. Linear in development. I like it, but need to spend a little more time with it.

Astringent Lavender - fleshy and bright over a slightly dark vanilla. Great performance in terms of longevity and sillage - for the price. Think of Tom Fords Lavender extreme turned down a bit with more vanilla than tonka. TF LE is stronger with 5 times the staying power and the Lavender super high quality though it morphs to a Tonka bias within a few hours where as this is far more linear. A very pleasant buy especially for the price. A simple inoffensive lavender for professional presentation with a bit of clout.

I just received a sample today and I absolutely love it. its a perfect blend of lavender and vanilla. The opening is very strong with medicinal lavender however few mistunes in it turns into a butter smooth mix of delish vanilla and very natural lavender essential oils.

Lavender on steroids! It smells exactly like when you go to lavender fields. I couldn't get the 2014 version but that one was a must in my fragrance list. Staying power is solid , projection is moderate.

I personally like this fragrance with its wonderful lavender touches and vanilla sweetness. After the dry down I detect a bit of freshness.

Denser lavender than the edt, and less milky vanilla. Modernized perfection.

Lavender was a fragrance I had kept my distance from well into the 2020s. Later, I decided to pause my search for the perfect vanilla and turn my attention to it. At first, I thought I had found what I was looking for in Ferrari’s Pure Lavender and later in Kurkdjian’s Masculin Pluriel. Yet, in both cases, after a beautiful opening, let’s say the first hour, the scent would descend into that modern, nasty, chemically-smelling mall perfume territory, and my search continued. Eventually, I found myself appreciating Czech & Speake’s Oxford & Cambridge. This time, it was beautiful from start to finish. The only drawback was performance: it seemed weaker than the previously mentioned fragrances. I convinced myself this was due to the inadequate dabbing from the decant and went ahead and purchased the 50ml bottle. I haven’t used it yet. Around the same time, I also acquired a decant of Caron’s EDT. I tried and tried, but I couldn’t decide whether I liked it or not. Then, when the Parfum version was released, I thought, “Alright, let’s see what this brings to my collection.” I tried and tried again, and once more, I felt ambivalent. First of all, the performance is no better than the EDT: three sprays to the chest, and you’ll catch it intermittently for 5–6 hours. No one else will notice, not even a partner who gets close! Lavender here is medicinal, much like in By Kilian’s A Taste of Heaven. In my view, the real issue is that a venerable French house like Caron hasn’t used a truly high-quality vanilla. A vanilla absolute (or even better, a Tahitian vanilla) could have rendered it beautifully creamy. As it stands, I’m not regretting owning it, but I find myself thinking, “If I hadn’t had it, it wouldn’t have mattered.”

Caron Pourn Un Homme Parfum smells like lavender essential oil. For the first hour that is all I really get. Someone else mentioned it having an almost sugary quality and that is spot on. But it is still extremely lavender forward. It is bold, herbal, and realistic. Slightly difficult to wear but also sort of charming in its tenacity. After about 40-60 minutes on skin the lavender will meld into a pleasant vanilla base. I enjoy the base in this more than the regular Pour Un Homme. It is more delicious and creamy rather than play-dough (but there are definitely still a lot of similarities to the original). It feels like they just wanted to make Pour Un Homme more natural, vibrant, and beautiful. I think they succeeded. The wearing experience of this feels pretty elevated and meaningfully different compared to the original. I think this Parfum is a lot better. But you really, really have to like the smell of a realistic bitter lavender oil. The lavender here is a far cry from the tamed easygoing lavender you find in 99% of other fragrances. This is more mature and refined than most other lavender-vanillic fougeres on the market. I think this one is very pleasant in the air. 8.6/10

For many of us who grew up in the 70s and 80s, and reminisce of our granddad or dad's unforgettable vanilla/lavender scent trail of Caron Pour Un Homme eau de toilette, this IS the same magical smell amped up to 11. Amazing, unmistakable and absolutely unforgettable. Fragantica, mistakenly calls ir PUH 2022, but It really IS Pour Un Homme Parfum. It has a thick Parfum concentration and It lasts a long, long time with big yet subtle and refined sillage. Get It while you can and enjoy It. Really hard to get unless you live in France or order It through Caron's website. 10 out of 10.

This is an absolutely beautiful scent. Pretty much the 1934 original on steroids. However, the Le Soor version is even better. The original on steroids and more modern.

Holy hell, I think I overdosed on lavender...

A scent for someone who dislikes 'fragrance' as a concept but tolerates lavender. This is pure lavender oil — intense, natural, and overwhelming at first, with an oily projection that floods the senses. After several minutes, it settles, but there is no dynamic development — only persistence and decent longevity. In the background, a screechy-sweet, creamy vanilla lingers, almost equal in strength to the lavender itself. Powdery and soapy undertones emerge, reinforcing the impression of simplicity. It evokes associations with wormwood tincture and unmistakably recalls Play-Doh — an odd nuance that's hard to define otherwise, just as other reviewers have noted. If you've ever cracked open a fresh tub of Play-Doh, you'll recognize the parallel immediately. Wearing this feels like someone making a statement about minimalism. Of course, it's natural and intensely straightforward, but as a perfume, it holds the same complexity as the lavender oil in my bathroom. Owning a full bottle feels redundant. The design looks super classy, but I only have a decant. Ultimately, this is a lavender bomb — an explosively fatal overdose. Yes, it's nice, but it's also as lifeless as the overdose suggests. Buy only if you appreciate the most basic combinations, stripped to the bone — meant for those who view fragrances as unnecessary decoration but still concedes to having a clean smell. A signature scent only if your signature is a single, straight line. This is not a perfume to me — it's a smell with paperwork, uninterested in novelty. Oh my. Spraying on a test strip hit me in the snout with this screechy sweet vanilla lavender bomb. No way can I spray this on myself. The green juice in the sample sprayer and the dark green Caron bottle - it'd be like spraying Superman with kryptonite perfume. No, no, not for me. Maybe for a Parisian dandy, but not me. BUT, I bit the bullet and gave myself 2 sprays on the chest and 2 on the neck. Wow, totally different. Now it was a lavender vanilla bomb and dried down in about 20 minutes into a classy gentleman's fragrance. Not overly sweet. Going against it for me is the strong, powdery vanilla - not my style. But it is well crafted with good performance and would serve as a good formal fragrance for a guy who likes lavender and vanilla.

Just got this today. In my opinion, skip it and buy a larger bottle of the EDT for a better price. The concentrations don't make sense to me with this Parfum having 82% alcohol compared to 83% in the EDT.

Tested this from a sample I received with an order. I’d be lying if I didn’t say this smells like play-doh to me.

Caron Pour Un Homme is a disappointingly bland lavender fragrance. The amber underneath only makes it worse, adding a strange, slightly synthetic warmth that clashes instead of complements. Overall, it feels outdated and uninspired. You’d get a more authentic and pleasant experience from simple lavender oil.

Honestly, this smells like cheap alcohol-y aftershave or Old Spice. I was hoping for the best based on the reviews and accords, but was quite surprised and disappointed. I can’t even keep the bottle and I don’t recommend.

I wore the OG Pour Un Homme exclusively as a signature scent for over 10 years in the late 80's early 90's. I had bottles with the black top rectangle shape from the Paris store. Never the American version. I have this on for 30 minutes already. It's nice even decent. I get concentrated lavender. The OG was all about the musk dry down. I don't get it from this version. I need to give it more time. If anything it is concentrated beyond recognition into something else. I will give it overnight on my sleep clothes to decide its fate :) The old version reeked on clothes forever. A white cotton T and high humidity were my friends. ....now 40 minutes in and the familiar play-doh smell is coming through. This smells more like the original now. Still waiting for the musk dry down... Ok I am on my 3rd application over 3 days now. I don't get the musk/vanilla dry down. Actually I don't smell any vanilla at all just concentrated lavender and the play doh smell. It is however a true parfum strength so that will naturally alter a fragrance but this IS NOT an extreme version of the OG unless you want to disregard the musk which IMO you cannot. I like this though. It is a quality fragrance and pleased to own it.

So I adore all things lavender, and I’ve wanted to try this for a long time. The opening is Sharp lavender, with a strong base of a not overly sweet vanilla. First couple sprays are a little intense with the lavender notes, and can feel a little screechy as others have said. BUT, this does start to calm down after a couple minutes and the lavender and vanilla start to dance with one another. Some people say it has a little bit of a fabuloso / kitchen cleaner vibe to it, and I don’t see it directly but I can understand it 🤣 Oddly enough, I just don’t see this as a barbershop fragrance like others have said. This feels very unisex and acceptable on anyone really. It gives me direct memories of Tom Ford’s Lavender Extreme. I like this one more though. It has some elegance to it and finesse that I can appreciate. Performance is moderate. Projection is also moderate. Enjoyable wear, but I won’t be going after this one I have to say

Havent tried this Parfum version, but if its just a much stronger version of the Original Caron Pour Un Homme, just get Molinard's Lavande ya'll! I own both Caron Pour Un Homme original and Molinard's Lavande and they smell about exactly the same except Lavande is a "Beast-Mode" version of Caron! Even down to the slight anamalic/funkiness of the natural Lavender in the opening as well as the ambery/vanillic dry-down. Plus it cost 1/3 the price of Caron Pour Un Homme Parfum! Trust me! They really do smell just about identical! Only difference is that Lavande has a noticable deep Patchouly base as well. Also when Caron dries down into the Vanilla I call it a "Candied Lavender scent" and Molinard's Levande smells very. VERY similar!

I tried it a few times at first and I very much liked the smell. Still do but after spending more time with it I realize the performance is not as good as I thought. Sometimes it takes a while for me to figure that part out especially when I am excited about a new purchase. Try it for yourself though. I recommend buying a sample instead of a full bottle. Unfortunately I had to throw my bottle was thrown into the trash. I get no pleasure if I cannot smell anything.

I recall the first time I experienced Pour Un Homme. It was in the 90s. Back then it had a subtle, but significant note of animalic musk. I thought Pour Un Homme was the sexiest men's fragrance I had ever smelled! The animalic musk (possibly a reconstitution of Tonkin deer musk) gave to the opulent and elegant blend of lavender, vanilla, and amber -something extra. A sex appeal that the current formulation does not have. Consequently, Pour Un Homme is a fragrance I can no longer wear -or enjoy.

I'm becoming very skeptical about looking too much at ratings recently. It seems the basis of a high rating is often "more is more". The stronger concentration the better. The boldest one wins. Uugh. I wish I had started with the original instead. This seems just way too much. Essentially, it's a really strong and harsh lavender, which meets with vanilla, mediated by musk, tinted with rose. It's nice. I'm just the wrong person for this. The lavender is much too aggressive.

I used to enjoy this, but I've since developed quite an aversion to it. I normally enjoy lavender, but in this particular fragrance, it reminds me of Fabuloso at times. The vanilla takes over, and I end up smelling like Play-Doh. It is very linear and very strong on my skin. It's a parfum concentration, so I have to put up with a thick vanilla/Play-Doh scent for hours upon hours. I don't detect any other notes such as the rose or opoponax.

This is officially rarer than Amouage Homage :)) I've never expected a canceled order from this. I rarely blind buy, I've heard this is like the old one but I'm not sure.

It is just a lavender scent that you can find it pretty much everywhere ... so basic not worthy ! Thank god I didn’t buy it blindly

This is kind of metallic levendar. This is lavender fragrance and not a lavender based.

I got this as a sample and it's just okay, atleast it's better than the lavender EDT
