Pour Un Homme de Caron Sport

A solid summer scent. The smell from the atomizer made me think this wasn't going to be my thing. It smelled way too thick, dense, plasticky, almost Play-Doh like. However, it smells much, much better on skin. It is still dense, but there's also a breeziness to it that keeps it uplifting and eminently refreshing. To borrow some associations from other reviewers: it's like a decadent slice of key lime pie just taken out of the fridge and eaten on the terrace, or a lime creamsicle on a hot July day, so cold it gives you brainfreeze. It does have a quasi-gourmand vibe, though I wouldn't go so far as to classify it as such. Key lime pie is my favorite dessert, and it's next to impossible to find here in Taiwan, so this fragrance does make me feel a little bit homesick, in a good way. But I digress. "Warm" and "cold" accords are juxtaposed quite well - the central mass of benzoin, tonka, ambergris, white musk, and cedar, all of which combine to convey a sense of creaminess and density, is balanced with an aromatic brace of verbena, ginger, lavender, and citrus, which blow cold air onto the composition. This is where the "mintiness" is coming from, no doubt. The one thing I wish is that this had a little bit more of a gingery zing. Although the opening has some sharp zestiness to it, over time that fades as the scent fully embraces the dreamy creaminess of the benzoin/tonka/ambergris/lavender. Overall, I'm a big fan of this fragrance. Surprisingly, given my skin's tendency to eat up anything scented, I get great performance with this one, around 8-9 hours. This is one of the only fragrances I have that can last a fully work day, and is still quite detectable as a skin scent at the end of that window. I bought my 50ml bottle for around $35, and I'd say it's a great deal considering. Is it my favorite summer scent? No, but I'll definitely be reaching for it on the hot days when I want a real feeling of refreshment. 8.5/10

From the strongest to the weakest note: fresh and energizing start of mandarin, grapefruit and essence of lavender leaves, then the fragrance changes after two hours to evolve into woody notes like cedar and maybe even geranium, and always in the background we find notes of citrus / mandarin and lavender oil, finally after 5 hours, the fragrance discovers his third act with some musk, Ambergris and always in the background the nice lavender. It is very different from the classic Pour Un Homme, even the iconic lavender is not the same, and vanilla is missing. It is surprising by its three successive stages that evolve in 3 different flavors (lemon cologne, woody and musky). To give you an idea, it begins like Concentré Orange Verte from Hermes (but Caron is less bitter), at the intermediate stage it teases Azzaro Chrome (but Caron is more subtle and light) and ends like Mugler Cologne (and Caron adds a breath of lavender to this composition). The quality of the composition is greater than the classic Pour Un Homme in its modern formulation. This is a very pleasant fragrance in each of its steps, easy to wear for the sunny days from spring to autumn. It is not dedicated to a particular man in terms of age or style. Do not rely on the word Sport, it is more complex than that. I regret that its performance is pretty average. It last long, but its sillage is low, except in the first two hours where citrus shines. The rest of the time, it remains close to the skin. You will need to apply a lot and also on clothes, where it will last longer. Pleasantly surprised, I wish that this variation deserves a commercial success and maybe we will witness a restart of the house?

I love sport fragrances and caron pour homme sport is a very solid release. refreshing, invigorating with a bit of elegance in it. This fragrance opens with a blast of lemon, almost candy like..then the lavender, mint and musk appear and u can fell the original DNA but modernized, still mature but more dynamic and easygoing. It's nice, inoffensive, u can overspray and nobody can say it smells bad. In the high heat shines, u can wear it in every situation. u can find it for a cheap price, it's not something out of this world but it has its own uniqueness. Higly recommended! Very unique citrus opening to this one. Mint is not listed, but I get citrus mixed with something that smells almost identical to fresh spearmint leaves, just picked and rubbed together in your fingers. Add a soft lavender to this mix, and the result is very soothing, herbal and refreshing! There are a lot of other notes listed that I do not detect, but they could be providing the depth and character not common in typical “sport” flankers. This is a perfectly executed warm weather fragrance for a man who is looking for something mature but not old-school, fresh but not generic, discreet but not fleeting. Update: after wearing this for several months, it is emerging as one of the best, if not my favorite, summer fragrances I own. I never get tired of this, top to drydown- Absolutely fantastic scent. And the longevity is to be admired for a citrus scent.

I get a very strong impression of Lemonhead candy in the opening. Given a few minutes on skin, the fresh-aromatic-herbal elements contrast against it. I enjoy the drydown where it morphs a bit into a creamy almost-fougere. I pick up lemongrass, lavender, mint, celery, and tonka. I do get a subtle menthol effect, which I’m a big fan of. When I take a deep whiff right from my skin it cools my nose in a mouthwashy aftershavey way. It doesn’t smell like Pour un Homme Parfum but it has the same idiosyncratic design philosophy. A naturalistic and herbal sugary ray of light with a creamy base. To me this is like a conceptual hybrid of Andy Tauer’s Orange Star (fashionably weird, ‘elevated’ citrus candy with vanilla/ambergris) and Guerlain’s Homme (pale green, minty ferns, golf course fragrance). 9.0/10

Daily-driver masterpiece. The legendary house of Caron's answer to the "blue" fragrance trend and, God damn, is it satisfying. How it smells: The signature vanilla-lavender-tonka of Pour un Homme de Caron drenched in juicy citruses, muddled in herbaceous greens, and rolled in sticky, sweet, ambergris. As laid-back and comfortable as they come - like an old friend whose presence you never get tired of. This makes you feel comfortable, clean, confident, and collected. This is as unoffensive and versatile as it gets. Job interview? Sure. Date night? Yup. Running errands? Of course. Fresh and cozy. A unique and welcome combination. Something rare. Longevity is also totally adequate. Spray the hell out of it and feel great. Simply wonderful.

This is great, but you have to be open to a somewhat non-modern summer scent. This opens with pure citrus and mint, seriously a blast of lime with some lemon and orange secondarily. The mint might actually be the ginger playing a more aromatic up front role, but it comes off quite minty. 20 minutes in, it’s a classy lemon and ginger candy, and then the lavender begins to creep in from the background. What you’re left with at dry down is a musky, tonka, and gingery lavender+lemon blend that is cooling and intoxicating. Have to give it an 8.6 on a blind buy with no experience with Caron fragrances. I highly recommend it if you want a summer fragrance that no one else will be wearing and will make you stand out in a classy way.

One cracking summer scent. The lime (heavy within the citrus) and mint (?? not listed, surely it’s in there) in this scent remind me of a mojito. Faint ginger and tonka during the dry down. Beautifully fresh, invigorating, and fairly long-lasting (5-6 hours on my skin), this is definitely one you’ll want to rock throughout summer. Shades of Guerlain Homme and Tommy Bahamas St Barts mixed together, but a fantastic scent in its own right. Someone hit the nail below. The warmer you are, the more this radiates. The only Caron I own, but I’ll be checking them a bit more closely after this introduction. Fantastic summer vibes.

Gosh I have really come to love this stuff! I got a sample through Scentbird. Eventually I did decide to buy a full bottle as I found one for a good price. It starts with a blast of very mixed citruses...Its like a sweet lemon / lime / orange combo...a lot going on. The citrus lasts about 3 hours. After that it evolves into the original Pour Un Homme de Caron....you can literally tell no difference at that point. It is the lavender and vanilla notes from the original only. I have been wearing this a lot this summer. I would definitely classify this as spring and summer, although its very versatile.

One of the most unique and best summer fragrances i've ever tried. There is a certain sweetness going through, along the citruses and the aromatics. I detect a lot of mint ( not listed, might be the verbena ), candied ginger and citruses, with a sweet background of tonka. The Lavender signature hides in the back but is still there. The ambergris in the base might be real as it smells strikingly gorgeous, bringing its salty and slightly acid facet. To me it most definitely smells like a citrus sorbet, with mint leaves and candied ginger on top.

Really surprised by this one. It remains a lot of the original but it's full of joy and freshness. The lavender/vanille combo is sweetened by some kind of caramelised or candied citrus. The base is not so full of vanilla and musk like the original, instead you have tonka/benzoin that keeps the candied citrus/lavender accord. I really like this one, it's a different take on the sport theme. More interesting that the vast majority of masculine fresh releases we are getting lately. Nice smell and decent performance.

Just got a small sample of this from FragranceX. The first thing that came to mind when I sprayed this on my arm was the Andes Creme De Menthe Thins after dinner candy. The opening smells just like it. I get a strong mint note although it's not listed here. The dry down is more green but pleasant. This one is different but good. I plan on purchasing a bottle and adding it to my rotation. The sillage is good. Longevity is super good. It's a happy, uplifting scent.

The real test of skill lies in the creation of a summer fragrance, one that can withstand the complicated conditions of the really hot days. This perfumer, William Fraysse, has succeeded brilliantly in this. What an incredibly fine blend. It certainly fits in with the rest of the year as well, which makes it even more spectacular, but since this one is no longer available, I am reserving it for the dog days.

Key lime pie. When I went to select the top notes, I was surprised not to find lime. It is fizzy, limelike and well rounded creamy. I sprayed three on each arm and four on the chest under a button down and am still getting strong wafts after a couple of hours. Dries to a pineapple and sweet orange scent and suddenly is gone at about 4 hours. I keep wanting to eat a Lime Push-up. Mmmmm. Childhood memories.

When it comes to 'Sport' fragrances, this one really is one of the very best. The way the grapefruit mixes with the sharp lavender creates something almost mint like. Super fresh and sharp. It adds a lot of complexity that the original simply doesn't need, yet I don't think this would be half as good without the extra layers of zingy spice, sweet resin and the most natural feeling musky ambergris base.

This is very fresh perfume, probably the freshest I smelt in a while. The notes I smell are intense citrus, lavender, and a hint of mint. I cant smell tonka, musk, or ambergris Very uplifting perfume but my only take on it is the strength, I hoped it will be as strong as yatagan but unfortunately it isn't. It lasts alot longer on clothes than skin though

I Blind buy this one and I was scare that it would smell old school-grandpa but WOW this is lemon fresh ice cream/gelato/pie I love this it cools you down leaves a nice trail people can smell you this is a masterpiece! yesterday it felt like 45C in Montreal because of humidity and Caron sport performed like a true champ!!!

I bought this fragrance yesterday in a mall here in my country and I have to say is one of the best sport fragrances I ever smelled, I't doesn't smell like a sport fragrance, it smell luxurious, is to wear day and night (at least for me), the longevity is awesome. The work that Caron did with this perfume is truly awesome.

First thought was Lemon Gelato. It's a tangy and creamy citrus that's very bright and cool. Cool as in it makes the temperature feel 10 degrees cooler when its applied and that's exactly what I want when its summer. Classy, unique, vibrant and perfect for the hottest summer days!

EDIT: Disliked this fragrance at first, it was my noses first time smelling ambergris. Took some getting used to. I enjoy this one quite a bit. I guess it's true what they say you can really go from hate to love in fragrances. love the minty vibe of this

Nice little gem we have here. I have the original and I really like it even though it has more of a dated vibe to it. However, if you are looking for a more modern take on the original, then this is it. 9/10

Finished a 50ml bottle off today. Been a ridiculously good scent for Perth’s hot and humid days. Really comes alive and delivers. Will definitely be buying another bottle for next summer. (If I can find one)

beautiful cloud of sweet vanilla, cut through by lemons and citruses. Key Lime Pie, Incense (probably from the benzoin), and some ginger to give it warmth. An undiscovered masterpiece. I love it :)

This is insanely good. It’s one of those that is such quality and genius in the composition that over time it captivates you more and more and with age the bottle smells even better

Oh man I just put a dab of Ambrox (cetelox diluted 10%) on my hand with a few sprays Caron pour in Homme sport over it- wow that’s heaven Moreno than it already was

It's literally like green carbonated fizzy juice, sweet and refreshing, can be used all year round, great stuff, I love it! For me the best fresh fragrance. 10/10

It says on here that it has natural ambergris in the base and it really does smell like it , regardless of it is natural it might as well be as far as I can tell

Lots of verbena, a touch of lavender, a hint of ambergris (real ambergris tincture, Caron says...) and voilá: love it or hate it. Myself? I love it. 9,5/10

This actually has a natural ambergris infusion, this is super good. Actually better than the original, I have a vintage and current of the original.

This stuff is surprisingly good! I randomly stumbled upon this here, and it looked very promising. Somehow I've never seen anyone talk about this or even Caron in general, which is strange considering how old of a brand they are. But anyway. If you want something that isn't a generic citrus or blue freshie in a style that's been regurgitated by every designer, definitely give this a try. The opening is well-done citrus, smelling mostly of lime with hints of mandarin and grapefruit. It's a smooth, sweet, almost candy-like citrus that gets bolstered by herbs and ginger that gives it some depth. Really lovely opening, one of the best citrus openings out of fragrances in this kind of family imo. Once the citrus starts to settle, you start to get that unmistakable Pour Un Homme de Caron DNA which really brings this together into an immaculate summer scent. The rich creamy vanilla and lavender adds character to this in such a fantastic way. This is one of those fragrances that has a strong cooling effect, making it perfect for the hottest of days in the summer. As far as I know there's no mint in this but it really smells like it with how the lavender is layered in with the ginger and cedar. On the far, far dry-down, you get mostly Pour Un Homme de Caron with a little bit of ginger brightness, but by that point it's mostly a skin scent. When I smell this, I get reminded of the golf course and club that my old job used to do work for years ago. It has the vibe of warm-weather comfort and relaxation while simultaneously exuding a feeling of class and nostalgia. Like many Caron fragrances, it does feel a little bit old-school, but not in a way that's dated or too mature. It's still modern but I imagine if this came out in the 90's it would be a legendary classic fragrance. I would say pretty much any guy can wear this, as long as you're fine with the lavender/vanilla from the original. The younger crowd may want to sample first, however. Performance on this is amazing, and in the heat it lasts and projects very well. The only unfortunate downside about this is that it's discontinued, so it may be hard to find some places. I assume they ditched this one to make room for the newer Le Matin and L'Eau, which are both fresh, citrus takes on the Pour Un Homme de Caron DNA (still need to try them, Le Matin looks promising!). I got a 2016 batch 50ml for about $50, which isn't a great price, but I think it's worth it to have a unique warm weather scent like this in my collection.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this given the polarity in the reviews. I expected to have a strong reaction either way. Much to my surprise, I didn't. I like this. It's not a love, it's not a dislike with rantings about toilet cleaner or some such nonsense, it's just a fairly solid like. So, what do you get? Well, you get about eight hours of duration out of this so you certainly get value for money. About an hour and half of that is moderate sillage and the rest is as a skin scent unless you do something to raise your body temperature a bit higher than normal but not enough to make you sweat noticeably. As for the scent development, you get an opening of lavender, a mix of citrus notes including lemon, grapefruit and mandarin, some ginger and nutmeg to add spice, a very vanilla like tonka bean. You'll find the verbena and the lavender will make you think mint. There's an edge to the opening. But half an hour in the ginger and nutmeg have blended in better and things feel somehow more balanced. About an hour and a half to two hours in the sillage begins to dip, the citruses get fainter and the balance of the perfume tilts towards the lavender and heart notes plus musk along with a hint of tonka, a hint of benzoin and a hint of ambergris. The top notes gradually fade over the following few hours to leave the heart and base notes. By six and a half hours in it's a skin scent that you really need to press your nose into your skin to smell and it's just about vanished into the wind a little after eight hours. I think Pour Un Homme de Caron Sport is more of a day perfume than night, and not only ideal for spring and summer but also for early autumn. I think this is pleasant. I've not tried the original version so I'm not coloured by expectations related to the rest of the line. I won't be buying another one because I've got several things in my collection that do the warm, comforting tonka-vanilla + something spicy or fresh a bit better. But I'd happily recommend it. I don't see why anyone would be offended by it - but then again, people are offended by all sorts of innocuous things!

Wherever an individual is from, regardless of country or region, everyone has their comfort food that grounds one and just brings contentment and feel good joy. That's exactly what Pour Un Homme Caron Sport delivers like very few fragrances can today. Real Ambergris that has a perfectly mixed sweet/salty combo that is amazing with the aromatic flavor from the Lavender always in the background. A slight spicey feel from the Ginger & Nutmeg combined with the Musks & Woods with Tonka Bean that somehow gives this slightly sweetened yet smooth vanillic charm, perhaps coming from the Benzoin & Tonka mix. Green, herbal like with a subdued powdery like sweetness that is exquisitely balanced with all the notes mentioned previously. Simply a magnificent creation from this house that goes against the grain from what 85-90% of designers & niche houses are creating today. Masculine, sophisticated, classy and yet modern with this juice. My girlfriend says this is her absolute favorite fragrance that she loves to smell on me in the warmer days of spring, summer and fall. And one can actually wear this all year round without giving it a second thought. Brilliance from Caron, simple as that.

This sport scent is quite different from many others - it gives you the original joyful and pleasant freshness of clean healthy body, which is very natural, instead of synthetic pseudo-athletic cuteness of most sport scents which are often aggressive and maybe good to hide sweat in a gym but aren't elegant at all. Think of yachts, golf and jogging in the countryside when you imagine this Caron fragrance. It's relaxed, pleasant and can be worn all day long.

What a strange, unique scent. I don’t see mint in the Notes but I get it In there. The citrus, lavender and mint is what I’m getting. I would say that wearing this in spring /fall would suit it best. It makes me think of being outdoors, up in the mountains or in a.m canyon near a stream early in the morning in the fresh air. It’s energetic and calm at the same time. Good projection and strong. Worth a try if you like citrusy, herbal type scents

Caron Pour Un Homme Sport opens with a blast of citrus. It's natural and tart due to the grapefruit. After the citrus settles in the ginger appears and there's lavender in the background. The citrus lasts about 4 hours and then you get the tonka base. The base has good lasting power, especially on clothes. Even though I'm getting bored with tonka bean scents I still like this one quite a bit.

cm1157- I had the exact same reaction, put it away for nearly a year and then sprayed it again and it was like a new fragrance. Ended up using up the whole decant very quickly and ended up loving it. Sell it if you can but don't toss it or give it away. It needs time to macerate. The natural oils just need time. At least that is what happened in my case.

Minty verbena supported by sweet lavender in the top, sitting on a tonka/benzoin base, with a hint of ambrox keeping things on the dry side, with acquatic undertones. Doesn't revolution the style, but very pleasant, and a bit out of the ordinary for a fresh citrus fragrance. A good dumb reach for hot days, with a price (~$40) that looks ok for what it is, even if I'd suggest not to spend more on that one. Like!

The Lemon Is Dominant And Smell Like Ice Pop Lemon (Sweet ). What Kill This For Me Is The "Ambergris"- It Is Just Too Much.

In the air.. sweet Citrus ginger cough drop 🔜 generic fresh shaving gel. On Skin: citrus blend, candied Verbina/ ginger and tonka, smells like lemon heads candy (but more orange/grapefruit). Turns into a sweet ginger green tea/ key-lime pie custard smell. No cedar. No nutmeg. Skin scent within 3hrs. Far, far dry down smells like shaving gel. Not my cup of tea here. It’s somewhat offensive to my senses. Whole thing just smells misplaced. Unless on vacation at pool side, I can’t imagine many people wearing this. I like the OG, but pick up on no trace of the DNA here in sport. Hard pass 🚫

I thought the reviews saying this smells like toilet cleaner were being overdramatic. They weren't. The citruses and verbena are turned up to 11. Completely overpowering chemical smell. I couldn't wait to scrub it off.

This is similar to the original but also different in some ways. While the original CPUH opens with a sharp blast of lavender, the lavender in Sport has been reduced to a certain degree and paired with a sharp lemon note. It's a well done lemon, natural and bright, and very similar to the lemon used in Caron's Eau de Reglisse. So when it opens you get about 60% lemon 40% lavender. What you'll notice immediately about the lavender, besides the fact that its strength has been dialed down a few notches, is that it is less herbal and astringent and has become smoother and more polished with less bite. I can see the new lavender being more widely appealing to a modern audience, however I really like the way it's treated in the original. I love how the original CPUH opens with a harsh lavender blast, that's a little difficult to swallow at first, and then mellows out into a comforting green lavender and vanilla base. The lavender in Sport doesn't present that kind of challenging beginning and is a little more friendly or boring depending on how you look at it. Shortly after Sport opens, vanilla joins in as well. It enters a little earlier in Sport than it does in the regular version, blending almost immediately with the lavender and taming the composition into a smooth, comforting blend with traces of the lemon from the opening. After about an hour, Sport and the original are quite similar, though it seems the new one has traded much of the lavender in its composition for vanilla. If the old composition dried down to 50% vanilla, 50% lavender, Sport is more like 60 percent vanilla, 30% lavender, 10% lemon. In the end, everything smells very nice, well-balanced and smooth with no glaring missteps or abrasively synthetic qualities. Performance is as good, if not better than the original. This does not smell like a typical sports fragrance. What it smells like to me is an updated version of Caron Pour Un Homme, designed for a more modern (and perhaps less patient) audience. It's very good, it's just different than the original. If you're a fan of lavender, and the way it shoots out of the gate in CPUH, you may be disappointed by how much tamer it seems in Sport. However, if you found the lavender a little overbearing and "old school" for your tastes, perhaps too herbal and green, you may like how it's been treated here--softer, smoother, and more blended in with the surrounding accords of vanilla and citrus. What has NOT happened here is the total corruption of the Pour Un Homme line. This is a good fragrance and a worthy flanker, albeit a bit tamer and with less of the original's quirky personality. But it does maintain the theme of the original. Personally, I like both and whether I choose one or the other would simply be a matter of my mood. Thumbs up for this relatively low key flanker of an all-time classic. Hopefully it will come to the States soon enough where it should eventually be available for a reasonable discount.

I have been wearing this during cloudy, grey winter days staying indoors in NYC lately. It cheers me up. The brightness of the top notes, combined with an edible Key Lime Pie sweetness, works very well with a green woody mentholated zestiness to produce something with much character, while comforting the soul. I must admit I originally found this a little unbearable years ago when I first smelled it, as when one eats too much Key Lime Pie and gets a stomach ache. This might also be due to the fact that this is such an original scent that one doesn't immediately know what to do with it. I really do believe this is a very classic, groundbreaking scent that will easily stand the test of time. Nowadays, I am simply incapable of writing a negative review of this. It closely resembles some other very high quality scents that cost hundreds of bucks, and when you lean into it, you can feel there is an elegance about it, some good personality that makes it quite valuable to me. It combines two diametrically opposed scent profiles (lavender/citrus opening vs. gourmand heart) in a very elegant and mature way. Not just for beginners. And what is most remarkable is that, for a cheap scent whose entire conceit seems to hinge upon the short lived zap of fresh top notes, the dry-down can last almost indefinitely on clothing once applied. This is certainly one of those scents you have to give some time to work with. In my never ending quest to find a good scent for summer, I originally imagined this was for warmer days. But the sweet heart makes summer wear almost impossible. Winter time is when this comes alive. This is because it reminds one of the summer.

wow, must love how this one doesnt even try to be conventional. this is how a house with over 100 years of heritage will touch up a classic, and the result is a trully unique sport scent. it will keep you fresh without coming across as a bit of a try-hard douche, shower-gel in your face type...what a treat. sure every sport scent will one way or another operate with citrusy notes, but the citrus this one vaporates is far from anything i smelled before. its sort of a mix between a freshly baked lemon cake and a lemon sorbet. creamy-sweet, yet icey. the icey feeling -like many others- i also mistook for mint, reading the notes though, i can see that it is a generous splash of all-natural ginger. so much so, that sprayed on the skin, you even get a fantastic tingling, prickling sensation. lavender closely follows this lemon-cake, ginger-ice fest and -even if a well known sleeping aid probably wouldnt be anyone's first choice as a sporty note- it doesnt bring the energy down at all. still very much a fresh, active, early morning, lets get it done type of feel, only gets a bit "dreamy" at the end. thats when you can decide to respray, or just put the weights down and join the group class room for some yoga, and still have performance in it afterwards, to charm the hottest girl of the class, while sipping on some spicy chai. in my country (CH) the gift set was actually cheaper than just the edt alone, so if you can get your hands on the shower gel of this, i do highly recommend to do so, it will layer it and prolong it fantastically.

Years ago I was out walking in the country. As the day progressed I went into an area where rocks were mixed in with grass and dirt in the ground, it looked like they were actually growing out of the ground. On the backside at the base of a rather large rock was a frosted bottle filled with green liquid topped off with a cap. I dug it out of the earth gently so as not to break the glass and there it was. The first bottle of Caron Sport. I took it home and enjoyed it. I took it into town and did a review of it for everyone in the town square. Now it seems everybody has a bottle and is acting like they were the one who discovered it. Give me a break, this sport juice was first worn by me. I put it on to smell green and clean. Chicks everywhere wanted to smell me. They had trouble though their phones were all in the way. They would come in for a sniff and mash their head into their phone. Gerroff me! This lasts for 24hrs. It is revived by sweat, the more you sweat the better you smell. You are a green clean fighting machine.

First initial review ! This is stuff although being modern and very much along the lines of being a citrus,summer scent this is also very unique. The opening to this smells good but to my nose is very harsh ! You get a very natural zingy grapefruit and lavender combo that to my nose kind of clash and make this VERY sharp and tart and smelling it up close it burns my nose. Once it dries down it keeps that sharpness but it does tone down. In a nutshell this smells like a mix between fruity pebbles and toilet bowl cleaner. I’m still torn as if to whether I can say I like this or not. I like the individual notes but when all the notes clash it for some reason is a bit much. I really wish they had a note like vanilla or sandalwood to smooth this composition out. As of right now it’s a neutral for me but that could change after giving it a few wearings.

With a grapefruit that I can wear, a vivacious verbena (I know, I love my alliterations), and of course the lavender that ties it to its parent, Pour Un Homme de Caron is a summer delight. I just pictured myself sipping a cocktail on a catamaran while Ambrosia's "Biggest Part of Me" blasts on the radio. I am wearing linen and snapping my fingers, washing away the past that I may start a new-ooo-a-hoo-hoooooo.... This easy feeling continues as the heart flows like a lazy river of spiced citrus that flows into a cool ambrox basin, touched with some real ambergris tincture (according to Caron, do we believe them? Seems convincing to my nose). Here the vanilla of the original is replaced with benzoin and tonka. There's a little something familiar there for the masses, but this has Caron written all over it, and for that, I am giddy.

I have to disagree with the previous reviewers about this scent smelling "natural" at least as a whole. There's some very powerful aromachemicals here, and the opening effect is VERY blue-fresh-sport-citrus. That said, despite the loud start there are definitely SOME good naturals in the mix; the fragrance is smooth and well blended. Fortunately the initial "body spray" effect dies away quickly, and you're left with a ginger-lavender accord with a spicy-sweet backbone, not as vanillic as the original PUH but not dry, either. While I don't particularly care for this style of fragrance I'm not disappointed - this is good work in keeping with the quality of the rest of the line, and miles better than the average "sport" fragrance. Buy it with Habit Rouge Sport and you'll be well served at the gym!
