Essence of the Park

This is for the Parfum, which is simply a more concentrated version of the EDP- the notes are the same. The first word that comes to mind with this fragrance is "charming." It's an artfully constructed artemisia and vetiver offering that really does evoke a sun speckled park in a coastal Mediterranean town. I think of Greece. It is a touch rustic, very savory, very green and utterly delightful. I wear it when I'm feeling wistful or melancholy and want to escape to places that embrace a slower pace and simpler daily existence. Cheerful and nostalgic; it feels anonymous and free. The longevity for this version is very good. The Artemisia note comes and goes all day on me. It is not warm or cool but rather peppery, and I think it would be best in spring and fall but could be worn all year long. The bright green on the EDP bottle is totally fitting.

Was wearing this perfume to work today. The weather was rainy but warm, and this scent fit it perfectly. Somehow the smell of rain made it absolutely beautiful, felt like they complimented each other. Personally I think it is unisex, and leaning towards masculine. Great stuff, and completely different from what I usually go for. It will be interesting to see what I think of it when the sun is out, but can't wait to wear this while watching a thunder storm. Edit: Just received my full bottle today, and I love everything about this scent. There's evident almost bitter greenness in the beginning, but after awhile an underlying warmth comes forth, and to me the fragrance seems almost slightly sweet. This indeed is the scent of a garden, but to me it's a garden in the rain, just before a sky splitting thunder.

Essence of the Park is an exotic, spicy herbal scent, sweetened by florals in the drydown. The opening is a citrus - artemisia - clove chorus of notes. It’s strong and has a slight medicinal quality. I did not hate it, but for me this is all about the drydown which is a 180 degree turn from how it starts. The drydown reminds me of a mountain cabin retreat, you can smell the resin (elemi) of the wood when you’re inside but as soon as you open the door the meadow air hits you: magnolia, linden and honeysuckle. Essence of the Park is unisex so ignore the gender classification. There is a meditative quality to this perfume and I love it. Edit: acquired through a trade with a fragrantica member, love it. First time I wore it I received 2 compliments.

This delicate, sunny fragrance is beautifully herbal and refreshing. After the citrus - bergamot opening, it becomes slightly sweet and blossoms. The vanilla and vetiver are subtle: just enough to make the scent warm and not sharp. Base is not heavy, but adds character and depth. I really love the developing. In every moment it's inspiring, harmonious. This perfume smells very natural, yet it is masterly crafted and well calculated. Straight to the heart, I can say. After knowing that, I become very hard to other perfumes, because personally I consider this one on the top of the perfume-art. Too bad it is not easily aviable in my country - so I value it even more... Sillage is moderate, longevity 2-3 hrs. Unisex, spring-summer-autumn days.

This definitely has more than just 4 notes. It tells a story that has many twists and turns. The initial opening is ooh so fresh, soapy, lemony and a bit minty too. The dry down is as beautiful. Green herbaceous and a bit white floral too. It finally settles into a clean white musk with some sweet florals. It’s very hard to find a great green scent even though it’s my favorite type of scent. And though there’s no figs in the notes, it does smell like the greatest fig fragrance (If you can overlook the occasional smell of cat piss) I can detect the lime and the vetiver notes, The artemisia and the magnolia. But other than that, this is a very well blended fragrance. Perfect for spring and summer.

What a refreshing, cooling fragrance! Perfect for a hot summer day. I thought I smelled lime like the notes here suggest, but the brand's website indicates it is lemon. But this citrus note reads more as lime to me and reminds me of Laboratory Perfumes Gorse but with much better performance (Gorse performed abysmally on me) and makes me think of a mojito but with other green notes substituted for the mint. Starts off fairly green and then dries down to a slightly sweeter citrus. Lasts quite a while on me, especially compared with other citrus-based fragrances. I bought this in Sorrento as a souvenir and now I can reminisce every time I use my bottle.

Essence of the Park is so delightfully green! Artemisia and citrus notes are most notable at the opening, but the lavender and sea accord peek through as well, creating a nice balanced herbal scent. The woodsy notes follow soon after at the drydown, I can smell the warm creaminess of vetiver the most, complimented with the spiciness of pink pepper and clove. The floral and musk notes float around in the background, grounding the fragrance and solidifying its "park" feel. I am trying this during the late winter/early spring, but spring and summer will really make this one blossom!

Lovely fragrance. Aromatic (didnt smell any mint) at first then comes in more a sweet green park smell. Will be perfect for when Im missing spring in the dead of winter. It’s so light and fresh.

yes this is a typical florally-sweet herbal essence. I agree its green and definitely more unisex than feminine. But as I always state: every good perfume is unisex. This is definitely a good perfume. It needs time to give its full potential. It starts very fresh and florally and then it first fades away. When it comes back, that is something very typical I noticed this several times, it start to get a bit florally-herbal. I think the first essence is due to magnolia and then it fades away. After that it starts to smell like a combination of Honeysuckle and lime. The sweet-sour herbal Lime stays. It gives me the feeling of laying in a green meadow in May or June when lime blossom is falling down and spreading that herbal sweet summer freshness. Yes I love it it is nice and has class. You can wear it in spring, summer and fall when y need some freshness.

Such a nice fragrance – light with a bit of an herbaceous bite. I didn’t really get much of a citrus scent, so this leaned more green on me than anything. There was definitely a mint-like note happening in the beginning which smelt amazing, and this note is what faded into the fresh, bitter herbal base during the dry down. The florals in this perfume worked wonderfully as well – they complement and don’t overwhelm the herbal/green performance. Longevity is only three or four hours – but the scent settles so intimately that it almost feels closer to two hours long as your nose must be shoved pretty much into your skin to catch the scent as it fades in the last two hours of wear.

Essence of the Park has a wonderful laid back, casual but classy, summer vibe. The citrousy opening comes on strong, but it soon mellows out. Lavendar seems to amplify on my skin, but it just lends a clean slightly soapy element here. The herbal green aspect carries a wispy sweetness. This feels refreshing and energizing. Longevity is a little better than moderate. All in all, EotP is a fresh, breezy and mellow summertime scent.

I never knew what artemisia smelt like, but hey it is pretty good and pretty photorealistic of the park. Not like a blooming perfect version of the park, which to me is more like a little warm/cozy scent with fall leaves, but a nice pleasant slightly windy 73 degree partly cloudy day at the park. It really is the essence of the park. Also to me this doesn't really smell like the soft lawn. This is much better and more wearable.

It's a fresh and lovely green floral that suits summer perfectly. I haven't smelled anything like it. Ingredients are of good quality.

I loved this on a paper tester - bright/soft green floral fragrance with a slight minty top note. But when worn, dried down initially to soapiness, then at about the six hour mark, turned to a one-note sour/bitter wood. I often experience 'what is this gross sour/bitter wood' in fragrances with patchouli - that isn't listed here but I guess it could be the same molecule that causes it, in my particular nose. The nasty note lasted till bedtime when I washed it off - on the upside, that's great longevity for a fresh fragrance, haha.

Interesting in terms of its herbaceousness and a unique green. Very close to the skin...a bit too close for me. :) But super affordable for a change of green scent..so considering a FB.

This is very very different than what I would expect from the notes described. It starts out with a citrusy note, which smells to me like that chemical which is supposed to smell like grapefruit. There is a sharp, almost camphor-like note throughout this, and it dries down to a chemical cedar-like woodyness. Perfectly unisex, in fact I would think it was a male scent. It does smell a bit synthetic throughout. That sharp camphor like note is indeed unusual, though I personally found it tiresome and not pleasant.

Though they don't share a single note, Essence of the Park and Feu d'Issey light are in my opinion quite similar, not to say at one point of their development - almost identical. Essence of the Park starts green and fresh, and some time later changes into more warm, soft fragrance. Very beautiful - masterfully blended, not a singe note sticks out of the rest. Very cheerful, spa-like, uplifting, quiet and gentle fragrance. I don't see it as unisex, definitely feminine.

I won a bottle of this. I rather like Carthusia fragrances so was delighted. My delight disappeared the minute I put it on. It was a nicely done green fragrance with the herbal taking over from the beginning. As time past some of the floral came through. I would say this fragrance was more for a man and should probably be listed as unisex. I gave this one to my husband.
