Baiser Vole Eau de Toilette

I don't even know why I bought this one. I think I found it at TJ Maxx, but it still wasn't exactly cheap. I do love the smell of lilies though, and I was intrigued by the idea of a lily soliflore perfume (the fact that it was returnable helped too!). At first spray, this seems like it could be overwhelming, but that quickly passes. The opening smells just like lilies and greenery. I love it. I feel like I am standing in a flower shop. It reminds me a bit of how Eau de Joy smells on my daughter--like an actual bouquet of flowers (although it doesn't smell anything like Eau de Joy). As time goes on, the green fades and it gets sweeter. Kind of a candied smell, I guess. A lot of people have used the terms "sparking" or "fizzy" to describe it, and I would definitely agree. The drydown smells musky to me. Like lilies and musk. But real musk, not the modern, fabric softener-y, white musk I'd expect in a fragrance like this. I was pleasantly surprised by that. Longevity is excellent, especially for an EDT. This easily lasts beyond 12 hours on my skin, and for days on my clothing. You definitely don't need more than a spritz or two. I think it's a gorgeous scent, but too much would be suffocating. If I had one complaint about this perfume, it's that I bought it in autumn, and it's completely unsuitable for wearing this time of year! I think it'll be nice in winter and spring, but might be a bit too heady for summer (we will see though).

I personally prefer this variant to the perfume, although I adore that one as well. The EDP scent is heavier, more festive, I smell an Easter banquet in the back garden, a magical evening with loved ones surrounded by lilies and tulips. EDT is a greener, more oxygenated fragrance focused on the whole flower, not just the floral part. It smells like a vase of lilies and white tulips freshly picked and sprinkled with dew. It's a great fragrance for a strong outfit, a navy blue suit, a shoe with kitten heels, a perfectly white collar with petticoat blouse and a very cold attitude, that the vibe this perfume give to me. I adore it. I can't say it's a mature perfume, because the perfumes don't have age groups, but certainly is a fragrance for a powerful, carieristic, feminist woman, I only see it worn by a very smart, determined, prickly and cold woman, that woman who smiles only in private life, that woman who lifts people to their feet when she enter a room. But be careful the perfume will not miraculously transform the wearer in this description, the perfume only accessorizes the lady, does not change her, so if you wear it and expect to turn a pink outfit with a mini skirt into an outfit as refined as the one described above or a sugar baby into Safra Catz nah, the perfume will certainly sit well, but overall the image will be strange.

In my opinion, this is a very underrated perfume. Cartier Baiser Volé EDT is simply beautiful. The notes here are not very specific, we only have lily and green notes, but I believe there are some citric, refreshing and sparkling notes at the top, and a slightly musky and very subtle vanillic drydown. Obviously, the whole theme of this fragrance (as well as the other versions) is lily. Pure lily. In its most beautiful and simplistic form. Much greener than the original, although never harsh on me, as others pointed in their reviews. Smelling this perfume makes me think on a beautiful image: a small vase containing one big, white lily. The weather's really humid. A drop of water just fell down the lily, and is coming all the way down through the stem until it hits the soil. The longevity is moderate (5-6 hours) and the sillage moderate-high in the first hour, turning then into a skin scent. It's very green and fizzy. Sparking and bubbly. Highly floral, almost drinkable and addictive. Perfect for cool spring humid days. I absolutely love this one, and I don't understand the dislikes, honestly. If you're looking for a modern, pretty, romantic, well-constructed and very natural green floral perfume, poetic, this one would be a wonderful choice.

When I hear "green" as a perfume note it makes me think: sharp and zesty at best and astrigent and harsh at worst. I don't like "green" scents. I'm a warm, musky kind of a girl. But strangely I am really loving this scent. I'll admit, I bought it purely because of the bottle (swoon!), but the pefume itself was a lovely surprise. It's sparkly and soft (almost powdery on me). There are no harsh green edges to this perfume, it is smooth around the edges. It's clean, it's clear, but there is something just so romantic about it. I'd best describe it as a soft tendril of hair that comes loose from a tight bun. Professional yet playful and pretty. For me it is the perfect scent to wear to work. ...I almost didn't want to share this review as I don't want anyone turning up at work wearing my new scent :-)

When a few weeks ago I tried this perfume at Sephora, I understood that I must have it. It's a very fresh and light scent. I totally agree it's green, but I wouldn't say it's sharp. To me it's more invigorating and energizing. Violent leaf is very prominent, lily - not much so. Even though one might have a feeling that this scent is very effervescent and fizzling, it has a pretty good longevity: 6-7 hrs. on my skin. Very playful, airy, and light scent. Wonderful for summer time. Very inoffensive. Needless to say that I LOVE it.

So refreshing and pretty. It's green, sparkling and ozonic. Crisp, cool and dewy. Has a romantic vibe, like walking through a garden of lilies after a rainstorm. Gets abit soapy in the drydown, but it never loses that sparkly, green nuance. Someone mentioned 'petrichor', I'm getting that too, hence my love for it. Best for humid days, the higher the humidity the better. Especially perfect for tropical climates. A warm, rainy afternoon indoors sort of scent. For green-floral lovers. Soft sillage and good longevity.

The decision to purchase this fragrance was an easy one for me. This wonderfully green, fresh and deceptively simple fragrance is genius. Its so stunningly well made that it does not deserve to be referred to as a flanker to the luscious EDP. On me it lasts all day and everyone I come in contact with tells me I smell wonderful. This is a must try and a purchase well made.

Beautiful! The best flowers have to offer - freshness, allure, beauty. Medium sillage, just two sprays needed to have a lovely aura of a scent without anyone near you complaining. Its fresh, deep and delightful, and it sparkles on my skin without getting boring or linear. Perfect for a spring. I think I prefer it to the edp.

A must have for summer! It's so deliciously green and white, like entering a flower shop. Pure lily, but with citrus and green accords, so refreshing and classy! It's absolutly suitable for special summer occasions too. The bottle is a work of art by Cartier. A good match to the flower lily itself.

My second bottle and I love it even more then before. I am in the citrus fase again and this scent is gorgeus. It is not just a skinscent because I got a lot of compliments. Sillage is moderate and longevity amazing... all day a soft lily, orange grass fragance. Perfect for office.

This smells like wet black pavement on a hot day after a rain, in a bottle. So different and unique! I prefer this to the EDP. EDIT Learned that the smell after a rain is called Petrichor.

HAVE A TRAVELED VERSION. LOVE IT LOVE IT SO REFRESHING.

Who would have thought that this would be the Baiser Vole I would like the most? I hopped on the Baiser Vole bandwagon in an attempt to try a fragrance that smelled like creamy body lotion. For some reason when I first tried the edp, it smelled too green for me. It was the mixing of the green with the soft powdery sweetness that seemed unsettling to my nose. Also, it smelled warm instead of cool on my skin. I next tried the Essence because I thought it was the green notes that I wasn’t liking. The vanilla was a little different than what I’m use to. It enhanced that sweet dull powdery smell. At first, I was liking it. Now after sampling way too many saccharine sweet fragrances, my nose appreciates the softly sweet notes. I had sprayed the EDT on paper once or twice before noting that it smelled nice but never tried it on skin. On my skin the Edt smells like the faint sweetness of real flowers. It’s like picking up some random little flowers growing on weeds. It stays cool and fresh on my skin. It smells like the wet stalks of flowers. It has a vegetation smell but there is something creamy about it. It gets sweeter the more it dries down. The sweetness is really dialed down but it is gently there. If you like Creed Love in White or Amouage Reflection woman, you might really like Baiser Vole Edt. This is less green and much thinner than Love in White. It smells like a wet facial lotion. It smells good from the first spray to the dry down. It smells good up close and from the sillage radiating from my body. I have to give Creed Love in White time to dry down to soften the funky green note. Compared to Reflection, this is thicker and less green. Overall, it’s a very nice clean smell that’s also elegant.

Well, another blind buy. I have to stop doing this. I absolutely love the bottle with it's flip cap. Very exquisite. I already started to smell the perfume before spraying, and hoped that it was more than the lime scent I was getting. Then BAM....lime. One singular giant green lime came plummeting at me, and knocked me over in some nearby flowers,(none of them were lilies), and then into the grass. There I am laying there aside this giant green lime sprinkled with a few flowers in the green grass, no breezes, no changes, and there I am. I will say since it's an EDT rather than a EDP, it's better as an after shower spritz, since there's hardly any sillage and does not last long. Into the bathroom it goes aside my wonderful (and better) Jean Nate. UPDATE: I wore this on my arm before retiring so I could test it even further. I had to bring my arm close, too as I couldn't smell it at all at an arms distance. Alcohol, the giant lime, this time some lily( not much), then the green scent. A few hours in after sleeping, *sniff*...oakmoss, the astringent bitter green. There's definitely more than two notes in this frag. I know it, because the nose knows.;)

The green notes in Cartier Baiser Volé EDT do not feel like leafy, vegetal type of green. They translate as aldehydic on my skin upon the opening. The aldehyde is not in the retro way, but rather fizzy and mineral. After about 30 minutes, the aldehyde calms down while the lily blooms. At this moment, there is still some verdancy left by the aldehyde, which makes this stage smells like the opening of Baiser Volé EDP. The drydown of Baiser Volé EDT is a creamy lily with a slight touch of vanilla, which is quite similar to the original EDP version. In fact, on me, when compared side by side, there isn't much difference between these two in the drydown. The sillage is relatively soft and the longevity is around 9 hours. Baiser Volé EDT on me, is basically the EDP version with an interesting aldehydic twist. It's as elegant and romantic as the original EDP, and I enjoy very much. But due to the aldehydic opening, I'd suggest testing before buying.

Let me be quite honest up front-there's a particular type of Lilly I do not like. You know, the big white ones with the pink insides that they frequently put in funeral arrangements. The ones whose pollen stains your clothes forever if you happen to brush up against them. So to me, lilly=funeral. However, I like Baiser Vole! It is lilly, through and through. But the WHOLE lilly-stems, leaves, and all. That peppery greenness is what makes this perfume work for me, and gives it a modern edge. It's worth a try even if you have preconceptions about lillies as I did. I'd call it more green than floral, thank goodness.

I'm a gigging musician, and during the holidays I often get hired to play holiday parties for very well-to-do families. One such party took place in a mansion where they had a 20 foot Christmas tree that was covered, bottom to top, in fresh lilies. Not sure I understand that decorative choice, but this perfume reminds me of how that house smelled. Fresh and cool florals, a green note like clipped flower stems, and a vague clean smell that could be shampoo, or floor cleaner, or fancy soap... or something like that. It's pretty, but doesn't have much character imo

Where are the citrus notes in the perfume pyramid? There is a lot of citrus on top, incredibly CRISP. The green notes are CRISP. The summer flower bouquet in the middle is clean and CRISP/CRYSTALINE and smells sharp and cold but just right. The base is a tad woodier as things go on. Where I live there is about 7 hours of daylight, snow on the ground, and usually it does not go above 25 degrees (this is fine, I love winter.) While I loved wearing this crisp citrus-green-florality perfume, it doesn't wear well in the winter, but will be awesome come summertime.

this is lily. definately lily. i also get some zip like lemon, its not lemon, but zip like lemon. if that makes any sense. to me it kinda reminds me of a bathroom fragrance. like you just pooped and want to cover it up, or you are in bloomingdales in the bathroom, and this is what their bathroom smells like. its fresh and clean. i think a spring or summer fragrance. daytime. it makes me think of skirts and flowers. tea on a crisp day in the garden. i think wearable, but not really my cup of tea. business casual or professional or dressed down.

Baiser Vole edt is refreshing, uncomplicated and quite lovely. Green, crushed lillies - flower, stems, leaves and all. It’s a bit bitter, and is a little bit salt and peppery too. But the whole lily dominates. It’s fresher and more playfull than the edp. For example: The edp is suitable for the office - all seasons. The edt is more of a casual scent, great for weekend days in spring.
